🐰 Happy Easter Everyone! Time for another Holiday Husband Buddy Read! Yay! 🐰
Reading parody erotica aloud to my partner is my love language! 💕
This particular book shook us. We are shook! It was terrible and yet also, really awful.
Here are some of our favourite quotes:
🐰 “He was as addictive as chocolate, and twice as deadly”
🐰 “the meadow laid out before me is bathed in light from the wrong sort of moon.”
🐰 “ Heaven may exist here in this bed. In a pair of strong, furry arms.”
This is the kind of nonsensical prose we had to digest for 56 pages. I haven’t even included any of the many, many similes.
At least there were illustrations to put this disturbing story into equally disturbing visuals. I feel like I just read some failing poetry major’s acid trip; this was Alice in Wonderland the porno, with a little Easter flare.
The author never let us forget that this dude was a grown man/bunny, with teeth, fur, a wiggly nose and puff tail. The erotica was all the more deranged when he used his buck teeth to chew off her undergarments and came bucket loads of marshmallow fluff down her dress.
Halfway through, my husband had to break out the hard alcohol. I think my lisping interpretation of the bunny god was what put him over the edge. But he had bunny teeth, how else would he speak?
My husband’s final thought: this was disturbingly descriptive, but why did he have to have a cottontail? Easter is ruined forever. We are never doing this again.
Don’t worry though, I already have our Canada Day read ready to go!
Update: there is a sequel and it’s 256 pages long. Who knew there was so much more story to tell?

The only fluffy thing on this book is…
The Easter Bunny’s tail... good thing or else I wouldn’t have been as *invested* 🤣😅🫣
Lily’s in an abusive relationship with Jamus; he’s in charge of the Valley and has the Power in him (whatever that means 🤣 things weren’t explained too well here). After 5 uneventful and dissatisfied years (in ALL ways 😬), she’s finally leaving him. Of course he laughs at this because he has Power she doesn’t (diluted power, but anywayssss) and she seeks help from the One that’ll help her.
I wish I could say what this woman’s title is, but 🤷🏻♀️. The woman’s going to have Lily replace Jamus and will name her queen regent, which means that Lily’s gonna have to give the woman (who’s probably the queen 🤣) a grandkid… sooo… she’ll need to sleep with her son… oh and sacrifice a year of her time entertaining and doing her bidding.
And Lily accepts 👀. She meets Jack, the rabbit… the Easter Bunny, and, well, 🥵😮💨
What I liked: spoilers ahead
—MARSHMALLOW FLAVORED💦?!? 🤣 I swear, Lily’s gonna develop diabetes 🤣. This was a very exciting line 🤣, but she’s going to have to constantly get her A1C checked 🤣 #prayForHerSugarLevels
—a chocolate egg for strength 💁🏻♀️? Sigh. You know how strong I’d be if this was true!?!?!? I could lift cars if consuming chocolate eggs made me stronger 🤣
—the illustration 👀. I was a TINY (ahem… or HUGELY would be better) bit disappointed that I didn’t see what Jack’s P looks like 😒 I was 🤏🏻 close to googling mediocre rabbits or bunnies, but alas, I restrained myself 🤣
—the 🔥. Look. I know. I KNOWWWWW 🤣 but, I mean, the 🔥 scenes were well-written 🤷🏻♀️. We get mutual 0r9l ones and then one VERY public 🔥 scene, and they were haaaawt
—the dominant bunny had me side eyeing everything I’ve known about those furry cuties 🤣😅. Who’da thunk that the Easter Bunny could be so *commanding* 😮💨, which leads me to…

We get thrust into the middle of a scene and then she visits the woman (the queen) and asks for help and the queen tells her she needs Lily to give her a grandkid… like, what? Why Lily? You’re telling me her son hasn’t had any little bunnies yet? He seems *very* experienced, so… 🤔 WHYYY does she need to keep the mask on? What’s this power? Sooo many questions 😬
—insta what? Lust? Maybe? Lily’s never met Jack before, but as soon as she walks into the room, he’s READY, and, actually, ahead of her 🤣. She can SEE everything, yeah, as in … EVERYTHING he’s working with 😅. No wonder she felt the need to pray for her and body 🫣. He’s a 2.5 meter (over 8 feet tall) man, and his height matches it all 👀
—more tension 🔥. It makes everything so much better
Overall, it was nice book that could ALMOST be considered a palate cleanser, IF we had some world-building questions answered

HE TASTES LIKE SUGAR !?!?
I’m kind of obsessed with this fictional world.
In 50 pages, we’re introduced to a world of “old gods” that live amongst mortals and have descendants that carry an inherited presence of The Power within them. This power is diluted over generations within a single family tree which leads us to meet Lily, a woman who’s been stuck in an abusive relationship with a descendant with The Power for five years.
Lily is desperate to escape her partner but being a descendant of a god, regardless of how powerful he actually is physically or magically, has granted this man complete control over the valley him and Lily reside in. There would be no one to house her, employ her, sell her any goods, lease anything to her, ANYTHING. With a lack of options, Lily goes to his great-great-grandmother, the Goddess of Spring.
You’re not supposed to make deals with the old gods but Lily craves her freedom above all else and is willing to give anything to get it. Lily meets with the Goddess of Spring and in exchange for Lily’s freedom and a piece of power of her own, Lily must marry and produce an heir for the goddess’ son.
And now enter…the Easter Bunny™️.
He’s a humanoid bunny man with a fascinating domain (of sorts) and these two strike up a very interesting dynamic that involves a constant exchange of power.
This is book one in a series and I desperately need to see how this story carries on. I just need to know MORE!!
Where is Lily’s family? Who are the other old gods present? What will Lily do with this new power? How does her relationship with Jack progress??
There are is much potential and creativity in this novella’s world building and I’m genuinely very sad that it’s so short.

3.5 stars. I was not at all prepared for this to have an actual plot. I just assumed that I'd be educated in what it means to subscribe to the old saying, "**** like rabbits." And it did cover that, but there was some really interesting lore here between the old gods and the valley. I also very much appreciated the entire underlying female empowerment plot point with Lily, who acts as our lead here. She does what she needs to, in order to escape a terribly abusive situation with Jamus. And that includes getting her mouth filled with delicious marshmallow fluff. I guess we all know what the Easter Bunny is really made of now. The sexual escapades with her were all written with great skill, but did not overwhelm the actual plot here. My biggest critiques all center around how fast this story moved. It has a big scope that it attempts to cover in a mere sixty pages. And I found myself unable to enjoy the atmosphere and fantastical world that it creates, because it was over before I knew it. I'd be very curious to read more offerings from Dalia Davies.

Okay well...it's Easter for me on Sunday so I thought I'd read something Easter themed and this turned out to be it.
Surprisingly it's not bad? And there's even a longer sequel, but I'm not so sure I'm interested in reading that. Because while I like the world building (it was the best part), I'm not really invested in the characters and their story. The only thing that could possibly make me read it is the fact that the ending doesn't feel complete.
Also if you wanted to know what the Easter Bunny tastes like, it's sugar and marshmallow fluff...yeah.

I don’t really like marshmallow, but I can’t kick this gut feeling that if THAT truly tasted like marshmallow it would probably end global unrest. ANYWAY. Railed by the Easter Bunny was entertaining. Was it a bit odd at times, absolutely, but there’s also this world that Davies has created that seems like it could be so so much more in depth. Like this Power business had me very intrigued. The potential for longing for a god who can’t live in the same realm as you. I don’t know, I’m feeling it. The Easter Bunny part takes some getting used to, but I think if you like books with the hybrid shifter spicy bits this probably won’t phase you.
All in all an entertaining read. Diving right in to the second part!

Anyhow, it ended in a weird place (not so HEA) if you're interested. But that's not a deal breaker for me really since I think this might've been a start of a unique series. There's potential in it and I'm looking forward to see where it goes.

What a fun first book for Jack and Lily! I marked it as erotica cuz I’m not 100% sure if it turns into a romance in book 2. I loved the theme of taking back your power.

Unhinged Book Madness - Day 7
From the title you would think you’re going to get a lot. And honestly I was enjoying the plot but this novella is just way too short. I wanted more story! I would read a full sized book about this, but alas I was left disappointed.

So…I don’t know how to write this review. Is this a quick prequel to a full length novel? I hope so. I love retellings Bout fairytales and folklore. Gods of old are a favorite of mine. I liked the little bit of world building that there was, and Jack’s parting words were actually quite sweet. The Easter aspects made me chuckle and I couldn’t take this seriously. But I’m open to reading the sequel!

This was a funny in an intriguing kind of holiday read but also with great storytelling that kept me hooked but also left wanting more!
Lily has been in an abusive relationship with a diluted heir between the gods and the humans, who is the current ruler of the valley. She wants to escape this relationship, so she goes to the Goddess of Spring in hopes of a deal. The Goddess grants her freedom and power only if she will marry her son, the Easter Bunny, and produce a direct godly heir.
This had soo many interesting bits, I was giggling and squealing and not able to put it down. Plus, it's only 50 pages. Lily ends up with all this power that I just want to see what she ends up doing with it as well as when she will go to see the Easter Bunny again because I loved them.
