From simple to spectacular, recipes created for the stand mixer. Sales of the stand mixer are consistently on the rise -- understandably, since it's perhaps the most integral piece of culinary equipment one can own. No other machine can knead dough, grind meat, slice vegetables, whip egg whites and make ice cream. This new edition features 40 brand new recipes and 16 pages of all-new color photography. The outstanding collection of delicious recipes will inspire everything from appetizers and soups to homemade pasta dishes and sausages, from divine desserts to special snack treats. Some of the delicious recipes include: A special section on understanding the equipment answers questions about stand mixers and their attachments and gives detailed information on their uses. Also included are dozens of valuable tips and techniques from expert chefs.
I have a kitchenaid stand mixer, however I do not have any extra attachments. Kitchenaid mixers come with three standard mixing attachments: flat beater, dough hook, and wisk. I don't really consider them attachments, they are just the mixers that come with it. There are several purchase-seperately attachments available, such as, slicers, several pasta maker sets, ice cream maker, sausage stuffer, etc. This recipe book has tons of recipes using those attachments. If you have a lot of the after-market accesories and are looking for instructions and recipes for their use, this book is for you. If you intend on purchasing the attachments in the future, this is a good way to see what is involved in creating your own pastas, sausages, and using the slicer. It seems like so much work you might change your mind. However, if you have yet to indulge the several hundreds of dollars necessary to purchase all of those attachments (for your $250+ machine), there are few recipes that you are equipped for.
This cookbook is loaded with all kinds of great information and recipes that use the standing mixer. The section that has pictures illustrating how to use all the fabulous attachments that can be used with the mixer is a phenomenal instructive aid for the person using the standing mixer. This cookbook is up to date by including both the tilt- head mixer and the bowl-lift mixer with all attachments that are used with each one. The recipes include the metric system for measurements as well as teaspoon/tablespoon/cup measurement system. The recipes go from starters to desserts. I have my eye on the Classic Chocolate Souffle recipe. In addition, the authors inform the reader what pan ( size & name ) to use and which attachment so there should not be any confusion. A well-thought out and instructive cookbook which includes basic and creative recipes. Who knew this appliance could do do much? I did not, but I certainly do now!!
With how much I love my mixer, I knew this cookbook had the potential to be my new best friend. Boy, was I on the mark with this book! It isn’t just filled with amazing recipes, but so many pictorial tutorials for the Kitchenaid mixer. Honesty, l the authors did a better job in their tutorials than many Youtube videos I have seen by professional chefs, which is worthy of major kudos in my book. My only problem with this book is my wishlist on Amazon getting so much bigger with all the wonderful attachments that I didn’t even know existed! Many of the recipes are just as superb, with me planning on trying many of them out in the next few months. As many of you guys know, most cookbooks have a handful of recipes that you keep around for a handful of family favorites. This cookbook is filled with so many wonderful recipes, I honestly have no clue if I should even bother putting it in my cookbook library or just dedicate space for it in the kitchen.
Disappointed very much. This is not a book for a mixer, it is a book for a mixer with all the attachments. You don't have attachment you have to figure out what to do or skip it all together. There are recipes that do not need a mixer either just your old small appliance if you have it.
Got the stars from just the bread section. It uses what my mixer came with and isn't a fancy "haute cuisine" style.
I recommend this book to everyone that gets a KitchenAid stand mixer. Even though I don't have all of the available attachments referenced in the many recipes this book offers, it has helped me see my mixer as a multifunction kitchen appliance. It's not just a mixer to use for the occasional batch of cookies. It's helped me to really think of how I can prepare fresh meals with less hassle.
Bought an earlier version of the book. Very useful recipes, and a lot of them. It's a must have for those owning the mixer. You would find it very useful!
