Arlo is a house cat whose favorite activities are eating and sleeping. For the first two years of his life, he’s been living in a city apartment, his most ambitious goal to sun himself on a windowsill. When his human family moves to a distant suburb, Arlo spies a mysterious creature, unlike anything he’s ever seen, lurking just outside twelve-year-old Michelle’s bedroom window. His curiosity getting the better of him, Arlo’s investigation of the mysterious creature inadvertently puts Michelle in grave danger. Now, Arlo must work together with strange cats and one unusual human to save Michelle, no matter what the cost.

I loved the book and I hope you make more of them, It was a short and but long enough read to understand the book. I think it had a very interesting story line and i hope you make more books like this.
This book was brilliant! As you can see from my previous updates in Quotes I have found quite a few spelling/grammatical issues iverall it was excellent. Matthew Block has well and truly outdone himself.
I loved it the character design was amazing, I loved the fact that it showed that what we think our pets are saying is probably not what he/she said. I would love to see a freindly Udug ( i'm sorry if I spelled it incorectly I have a 5 second memory) . It would be cool to see a geoup of dog shadow gaurians ( They could have no powers exept for seer but have a tactical advantage) . rating: one cat out of 3 Michelles
4 stars for over all story 3 stars for text, it was hard to read at times.
The story overall was adorable! Reading this on kindle unlimited, I read it out loud to my client (dsp) This story is so adorable, i hope the author creates more on this world.
It was a great book for your first non minecraft book. I hope to see the udug, Michelle, Tasha, Arlo, juniper, Lucy, Tang, Agatha, Stripes, and Camilla again in another book
This book was not what I expected and this turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Many more science fiction elements than I'm used to surfaced in this book and while alien-esc. Societies aren't usually my forte I found the subterranean Udug very interesting. The duel perspectives of Arlo and Berzod provided fun insight into the world. Arlo's character was very relatable, his hesitation and yet determination in the face of danger made him lovable and a protagonist I rooted for. The book was action packed and filled with adventure. This was definitly a fun middle grade read and the first in a series I wouldn't mind reading more of, I'm especially looking forward to finding out what happened to our lovable Mr. Plump's tail.
Currently re-reading this book so Matt Block and I can make sure we don't make any stupid continuity mistakes. Example: in the draft of book 2 we mention there is a fence at the back edge of Arlo's backyard. Nope, there wasn't one there in book 1, so we deleted the reference to such a fence in book 2.
I had no idea the story was heading where it did, so I was surprised by the monsters. Each one had a personality, which made things interesting . The cats are fun. Their personalities were very feline.
