She was so entranced with him, she threw caution to the wind, testing mating compatibility with Ruxon of Twenty-Seven—unlocking a night of raw passion and words of commitment with a sweaty alien miner in the holodeck of the Hunter station.
But the very next morning her new husband was gone, never to be seen from again. His promises broken and his vows meaningless.
Two months later Jana discovered she was carrying his child.
Now she’s on a mission to find the recalcitrant miner who called her his “Bride”.
At her new job on the mining planet Timbur, Jana finds Ruxon and learns his crew calls him “Heavy”. Her long-lost husband glares at her, as if she were a complete stranger—because she is. He doesn’t remember her.
Ruxon’s amnesia isn’t accidental. Someone is trying to keep them apart. But there’s an old Earth saying: “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
Jana will save her marriage, her baby, and her man, too!
Michele Mills lives in California and leads a life of quiet, G rated desperation with her husband and two sons. In an attempt at a fulfilling, R rated inner life that does not include Disney movies and Nickelodeon; Michele reads and writes filthy romance and, well...filthy romance. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
agh, so repetitive. Repeating details over and over in the same chapter even! needs way more editing. While I guess author is trying to extend/add on to the existing overall storyline drama of the series, I'm annoyed that a major plot element in this book isn't resolved at the end. So unsatisfactory!! This series is so hit or miss for me.

I liked this story a lot. There were some things that we didn’t get tied up by the end of the story but it was ok since it fit with the overall series. This was an enjoyable and entertaining read. The characters were interesting and likable. Without knowing who the “bad guy” was, it was difficult to trust any of the characters too much. I was suspicious of everyone! Ruxon (Heavy) and Jana had met and mated on the Hunter Station but were separated almost immediately. Jana decided to track Ruxon (Heavy) down, find out why he left, and tell him that he had left her a present. Heavy and Jana have to go through a little bit of drama and angst but it resolved in a steamy manner. I liked their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Cover Art: 🥕🥕🥕 Title: 🥕🥕 Review: 🐰 One of the problems I have with these stories is that the males are very distinctive; however, the females are very one dimensional. In this book we are following Heavy, who has lost pieces of his memory for some unknown reason. Jana on the other hand is a pregnant mother looking for her husband. Heavy has been explosive, sickly and lacking concentration for unknown reasons. Well, of course, he is slowly dying. Though it isn't until he goes to the med lab that he learns why. There is a MAJOR word for word editing problem in the beginning of chapter 9. Read for Seasonathon Merry Bookmas, prompt #3 First Page Nibble: 🐰 "You haven't been the same since you came back from that conference." A growl rumbled in Heavy's chest at his brother's outrageous statement. Rage simmered underneath his skin, ready to explode. His nostrils flared as he clipped his helmet onto his belt. Normally, he appreciated Trunk's insights and found his assessments sound. But in this instance his brother needed to mind his own damn business. Format: Kindle Unlimited Date Read: November 2, 2022🐇
This book continues the story of the next brother, and the continuing mystery of who killed their parents & caused the elder brother’s exile. I enjoy these alien species stories and this was a good book, but there were often repetitive and repeated phrases, and in one instance a whole paragraph was repeated. These occurred often enough to cause the reader to be jolted out of the story. I enjoy the world building and the premise of this book series, and the books are a light quick read, but the repeating sentences and phrases causes me to skip large parts of the story (because I have already read them). I would like this book more if the repeating was removed.

Ms. Michele is back with another awesome book. Jana and Ruxon are get together. The suspense, intrigue, love, and all around greatness of this book made it really hard to put down. I cant wait to see what Ms. Michele has in store for us next. I really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it, this series, and Ms. Michele as a must read!

Plot: Jana has come to Timbur searching for her husband. She's a noted chef and was able to get a job in the canteen developing and cooking a human menu for the miners there, and her plan is to confront Ruxon, who married her one night (in the way of his kind) and left her pregnant. But when he moves through her line in the cafeteria, he has no reaction at all. She's devastated; her husband, who professed his undying love to her, doesn't even recognize her. He thinks he's been suffering from a mining sickness related to his personal crystal and can't figure out why he's ill and suffering from memory loss. Once the two come together though, some of their questions start to make sense while others are left unanswered.
Commentary: I enjoy the Fever Brothers in general (and I noticed that in the book, it wasn't capitalized: "fever brothers" - I thought it might have been in previous books, but I don't remember). One of the things I do like about this series is that the human women already know about the alien men. There's no miscommunication because of a lack of knowledge about each other's culture. I also like that each story seems to be it's own - it's not just a rehash of the one before it. Heavy is the reliable Fever brother, the one that is steady and calm. He's acting out of character, though, and his whole family is concerned. In the past it seems like while they all have their own personalities and sometimes secrets, they are such a tight unit that this (Heavy's predicament) shouldn't be able to happen. I do wish the mystery had been cleared up by the end of the story. Since each brother is so different, I like them having their own story without the mystery story arc over everything else.
Grammar/formatting: needed another pass with the proofreader - commonly confused words, repeated paragraphs
Ruxon aka Heavy is a non-human Illibrium miner, who has four clawed digits for hands and clawed feet, and fangs. Jana is a human chef who grew up on New Earth, hired to operate a human food cafeteria at the Illibrium mine where Heavy and his brothers are miners of Illibrium, a crystaline mineral that is used to generate power. Heavy married Jana while he was visiting his brother at the Hunter Station, off planet. The problem is that he has no memory of her or.their marriage. He has no idea that Jana is pregnant. Jana took the job at the mine because it would get her onto Heavy's planet where she hoped to find him. Little did she expect to see him come through her food line during the first day of serving at the cafeteria. Heavy does not recognize her. As his behavior continues to escalate into violent rages, he discovers the reason for the rages and realizes that he must be Jana's husband. He is thrilled to learn he is a father to be and does all he can to convince Jana they belong together as a family.
There is a mystery to be solved, which continues from prior books in the series. If you have not read the prior books, you really do need to in order to understand the world in which this story is set, because the world is not really explained in this book.
The world building of the entire series and connected stories is very unique. Each planet has different beings and different worlds as part of a whole. The characters are interesting and the addition of the mystery adds to the overall plot. Of course the passion flares quick and creates quite the inferno. The characters are easy to relate to and are interesting to read, with at least one character showing growth in the short span of this novella.
I LOVE everything to do with the Fever Brothers. They are such a hilarious group of guys but also incredibly loving and gentle with their mates. Heavy (aka Ruxon) goes to visit their brother who was exiled to the Hunter Station but he left without even saying goodbye to his brother because he woke up one morning in the drunk tank after a bar brawl and was too embarrassed to face anyone, let alone explain to anyone what happened. Once back in the mines all his brothers realise there is something wrong and even Heavy realises that things are not quite right but he is too proud, or too stubborn/afraid, to delve too deeply. When the mine's cafeteria re-opens they hear that the new human chef, Jana, is pregnant with a half Xylan baby, and everyone knows what that means, she must be mated and for some reason that really irritates Heavy.
The whole reason Jana interviewed for and took the job on Timbur was to track down the Xylan miner who wedded, bedded and abandoned her the morning after their wedding night but she is pregnant and she is determined not to let the skunk get away with abandoning her and their child. But when she spots Heavy he acts like he has never met her. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark but what is it? How is it possible that a Xylan male could forget his mate. As they find their way back to each other they will need to investigate what exactly made Heavy leave that night. Is someone still targeting their family?
I loved the characters and the story was fantastic and I didn't want to put it down.

I've read most if not all of Michelle's works as an author and I quite enjoy their writing style, there is a little bit of repetition when 🤔 describing or explaining situations/events but never with the same words if you understand, they have a broad vocabulary 😉 and they use it quite well. Their writing style draws you in and keeps you wanting more its never disappointing.
Hot and heavy was a long awaited novel for me as I've followed the series since reading the first book, mean right hook so I was really excited and was not disappointed.
The books begins with Ruxon of twenty seven--,miner nicknamed Heavy,--who thinks he's showing signs of illibrium sickness/madness as he's normally even tempered but since returning from an off-world visit, he's a trip wire. He's also hiding a shameful secret from his family. Jana is a pregnant chef who recently moved to timbur ( the mining world where heavy works) in search of her missing mate/husband. Together they explore and building a relationship, Jana was extremely resilient and determined, it was really admirable about her.
Overall it was a quick enjoyable read. Do not recommend reading as a standalone as past events are mentioned quite often.

Heavy is a Xylan Illibrium miner and one of the Fever Brothers. He is known for his strength and his calmness but things have changed since he visited his banished brother at the Hunters Space Station. His personality has changed and he has turned into a raging beast. Only his crystal seems to be able to help calm him but it is under stress. Heavy is afraid that he is either suffering crystal rejection or the head injury he got in a bar fight on the station has caused some damage. To make things worse, he can't stop thinking about Jana, the new chef in the employee cafeteria in the mines. Jana is rumored to be mated to a Xylan and pregnant with his child but no one has ever seen her mate.
Jana met Ruxon on the Hunter space station on his last night there. They tested for compatibilty and she was claimed that night. When Jana woke up Ruxon was gone leaving behind only a note that said goodbye. Jana was heartbroken but soon found out she was carrying Ruxon's child. She became determined to track him down and tell him about their child. She took the chef job on Timbur so she could search for her miner mate. When she sees Ruxon go through her lunchline on her grand opening day, she is shocked. At first he doesn't seem to recognize her and then he scowls at her angrily. Jana isn't backing down. She will meet him in private to tell him about his child and ask why he left. After all she knows where to find him now. He is Heavy, one of the Fever Brothers.

Heavy is not well, he knows it but is trying desperately to hide it. He cannot fathom what has brought it on nor does he really know what it is. He is angry and there are huge blanks in his memory from his visit to his brother on Hunter Station. There is also the shame of a brawl and ending up in the drunk tank that he is not kean on sharing with the family either! Though there is something about the new human female who is the chef at the cafeteria. She is familiar but not. Why is that? As for Jana she was over the moon with her new husband but they barely had one night before he was gone. According to his species he shouldn't be able to leave her like that and yet, he's definitely not there any more. Hoping against hope that he didn't lie about himself and his job there is only one thing for it, follow him. She finally gets to Timbur and locates him but the knowing seems to be very one sided. Why is he totally blank when he looks at her. Not even the faintest hint of recognition. What happened to him? She is determined to find out and is not going anywhere without answers. She is also wanting to do this herself. They all know on Timbur she is pregnant and lost her mate but Jana refuses to say who it is. She is embarassed but loves him too much to broadcast it all. Once she knows the facts she will decide what to do about it. Thing is there is more to it all than meets the eye... This is the only spoiler-y bit I'm giving away. I have to say that the hero in this is truly Trunk for the guys and Jana for the girls. So excited that Trunk is next. He definitely deserves it!.
Jana met Illibrium miner Heavy (Ruxon of Twenty-Seven) and tested mating compatibility with him which lead to a night of raw passion, and some words of commitment in the holodeck on the Hunter station. The next morning she woke up to an empty bed and a note never to see him again. Two months later she discovered that she was carrying his child and so is on a mission to find him. Having changed jobs to be on the same planet as him she sees him and he glares at her as if she was a complete stranger. This amnesia is not accidental - someone is trying to keep them apart. But Jana is determined that she will save her marriage, her baby and her man!
I enjoyed this story with the mystery as to what happened to Heavy and how it can be fixed. I love the determination that Jana showed and that she was not going to give in (even while she was coping with morning sickness!). It was easy to read but I did find the denial phase of Heavy's problem a little long-winded in places. I'm wondering if there will be a global conspiracy for the entire family which is clear at the end of the series to sum up all of these events. Contains some mature content.
Jana and Heavy had one night of passion, with the Illibrium miner claiming his bride at the Hunter station. When he disappears the next morning, Jana is surprised. Supposedly Xylans cannot be without their brides once mated, or they will die. Two months later she finds out she is pregnant, and she goes hunting for her husband. Four months after their single night together, she spots him in the mine's cafeteria, and is shocked at his reaction to her. He doesn't appear to recognize her. Will she be able to jog his memory? Will they figure out who is trying to keep them apart? This is the story of the fourth Fever Brother to marry a human. Heavy is the biggest of the brothers, and is such a sweet Hero to his bride, once he realizes what has happened and who she is. Jana is independent, determined, and feisty. This can be read as a standalone, but the series is fantastic, and better read together in order. A quick read, this is a fun book well worth the one click.

disappointed in writing style (or should I say way story read)
I enjoyed all the other books in the series and most of the authors’ earlier works. I just can not understand how she approved this version. Felt like another person wrote it. One that was not as talented as I know she has shown in the past. Felt like Heavy was written as a regressed caveman and his mate as a sex craved and illogical woman. The story writing style was: we went to zoo, saw x, did y and then had sex. Almost bullet style, lacked flow for 90% of story. Other issues was the lack of caring of his family. No way would they wait so long to force him to see doctor since his behavior was so odd. The human mate loving the large family of hers but leaving them did not make sense. She would have gone back to be near them. So much more I can say. Will leave a note, I hope Michele goes back to start and rewrites this book. And NEVER uses the style again. Because if so I will not be reading anymore.
Heavy/Ruxon (H) has been showing unusual physical symptoms and behavioral issues since he returned to Timbur from an off-world visit, and he can't remember what happened during his visit. Jana (h) is the new human cook on Timbur - she's pregnant with a half-Xylan child which means she's been mated yet she has no Xylan with her. She's com to Timbur in search of her mate, Heavy, who acts as though he's never seen her before. Heavy's condition deteriorates to a point until his beast side finally breaks through forcing him to acknowledge who Jana is to him and things take a decidedly hot, steamy, intense turn. While Jana and Heavy do have an HEA, there is a bit of a cliffhanger in that the perpetrator(s) who caused Heavy's amnesia are not revealed nor is a reason for it discovered. The characters and worldbuilding in the Fever books are amazing and it's great to explore each of the brother as they find their mates.
A slightly on edge Illibrium miner and the woman carrying his baby. Which is pretty much unheard of because Xylan bond for life and a mated Xylan will die without his special someone.
Which begs the question: How and why did this happen?
As it turns out, Ruxon's on edge precisely because he's bonded and now without his mate. With no memory of Jana or the night they spent together, he can't figure out why's he's turning into such a hot, growling mess. Meanwhile, Jana's hurt because Ruxon doesn't recognize her at all.
Yeah, these two are complicated. A bonding, a baby on the way, and a case of targeted amnesia. That said, the fever brothers are quick to band together once they realize the issue (Ruxon is a little slow to let them in on what's going on with him) and soon things are moving in the direction they need to be moving.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I have read the previous books in the series and looked forward to this one. Ruxon and Jana meet when he's visiting his banished brother. There is violence and he remembers nothing of their time together. They have an instant connection and things move really fast according to Jana. Now she has managed to find him and place herself in a position he can't ignore. Or can he? The book has an interesting storyline with a lot of mystery and suspense. I thought it was more focused on that than their developing relationship. I wish we would have been given their night together in a way other than her telling memories. That might have made them feel more connected for me. This was a good continuing story of the Fever brothers. It just wasn't my favorite of the series.

Having not read the previous books in this series didn’t take away from this book. Jana married an illibrium miner Ruxon on Hunter station and after a wild night of passion in the morning he is gone and she is left wondering why but now she finds herself pregnant and decides to look for her husband to get the answers to why he abandoned her and there unborn child. Ruxon returns to planet Timbur but all is not right with him and his brothers notice that he has violent rages and doesn’t know why. Jana is a chef and takes a new job on Timbur and on her first day she meets her husband but he doesn’t know who she is or that they are married with help of his family that find out he has amnesia and it is not by his doing. The is so much more going on in this book that I don’t want to spoil it for you but if you want the answers to do they get there HEA or not it just one click away.

The story continues with the next Fever brothers as Heavy/Ruxon struggles daily to stay sane. He can't remember everything and his mood swings are out of control. Something is wrong, but he's afraid it's the worst thing to happen to Illibrium miners.
Jana is on the hunt to find Ruxon, who has disappeared after mating with her, something that Xylans are incapable of doing. Once Xylans have tested and mated with their one true mate, they can't be without their mate or they will die. So either she'll find him alive or he's already dead somewhere.
This was another great addition to this series. I love Jana's take charge as she decides to find out where her wayward mate has disappeared to. I also think it's interesting that food is the link that brings them back together. I was a little disappointed the mystery of the murder is still there but we still have a few more brothers book until I am sure we get to solve the mystery, hehehe. Cannot wait for the next one!
While visiting his brother Daxon on Hunter station Fever brother Ruxon meets Jana Ahmad with whom he spends a fiery night of passion, claiming her for his mate. But unlike a Xylan male who has found his mate after she wakes the next day he is gone! There is more going on here folks than meets the eye with the mystery deepening as Ruxon returns to the Timbur mines with personality changes and no memory of Jana. A great story soon reveals all its little nuances to the reader as with her usual top-notch story telling the author delivers another fantastic narrative that is totally engaging, spiced with a little humor, and filled with surprises, passion and perfectly crafted characters. This reader was overjoyed to be thoroughly immersed in this world again!

Hot & Heavy by Michele Mills is the fourth book in the Fever Brothers series and it was so good! The story captivating, the characters interesting, and all in all, how could I not cheer for Jana and Ruxon, Heavy, as they navigated their way to their HEA?!
Jana is feisty and fiery and sassy and driven and I loved her can do attitude. She's so resilient and caring and it's a beautiful foil for Heavy.
Heavy is grumpy and growly and struggling, and it made me love him so much more as I got to know him, his story, and his strength as he fights for what is rightfully his.
There is some drama, some intrigue, some mystery, and all the familial love you could ask for. It continues to build a fascinating world, developing all characters, and having me adore these Fever Brothers more and more!
Heavy the thickest muscle bound fever brother went off world to see his oldest brother, met his bond mate was attacked, lost his memory of his time with his new bride which left him on the verge of death and madness. Jana, the human female lead, has come to planet Timbur to search for Ruxon, the alien male lead, who married her and made her pregnant 4 months ago and then disappeared.
Ruxon has been feeling off balance and full of rage for months and he can’t work out why. Then he meets the new chef at his work cafeteria…
This story is dual POV, well written, and best read as part of the series it’s in, as it continues the overarching plot and, whilst the main character romance is complete, the overarching plot is unfinished. I appreciated Jana’s persistence and perseverance in the face of perceived abandonment. I enjoyed the relationship development and the integration of secondary characters and found family.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Heavy aka Raxon is angry, and lashing out to his brothers./crew mates. He was like this for 4 months now. Ever since he visited his older brother and his mate and child. But he doesn't remember much of the visit. The brothers think it's strange that he doesn't explain but they don't push to much. But Heavy is getting more upset but doesn't know why. He has nightmares of the same thing but can't put two and two together. But what he's not remembering is that he met his mate. They bonded one night then he was gone. Now she is out to find him. Because that one night she became pregnant. and it's been 4 months. She wants to ask him why he left. She thought they were married. Anyways, can Heavy remember his bride? Love this series so much.
An exciting and unexpected plot! I love a good conspiracy! The mystery of what happened to Heavy to make him forget his bride carries right through the whole story. Jana is determined to chase him down and get a resolution to her abandonment. The story itself was wonderfully realized and integrated into the series storyline. The pacing of the story is smooth and steady, and the rising action keeps you turning the pages. I loved the whole mystery that was generated about which Xylan would act so dishonorably. There is never a good time to put the book down! I wanted the mystery to be solved and for Heavy and Jana to be together as they were meant to be. This was a fun story to read, the spicy scenes were placed in just the right parts of the book to make them reinforce the story arc.
