From the New York Times bestselling creator of the Questioneers, Andrea Beaty, and author Theanne Griffith comes The Science of Baking (Ada Twist, The Why Files) , a nonfiction early-reader book based on the Netflix series!
How does a cake bake? What’s the difference between baking soda and baking powder? And why is it so important to measure the different ingredients in a recipe?
Ada Twist, The Why Files is the perfect nonfiction resource for all these questions and more. Based on the bestselling series and the Netflix show, this nonfiction series is perfect for the youngest scientists of tomorrow as they learn along with Ada. Designed in a scrapbook format, these books combine art from the show, illustrations, and photography to bring simple science concepts to life.

A lot of science about baking. A bit long for a picture book. But, for it being supplemental to the TV show, it's pretty good. Focusing on the science was a much better choice than just doing screen grabs and retreading the story.
These Ada Twist: The Why File books are amazing! Each book focuses on a different topic and explores all the scientific principles involved. This one explored baking and all the chemical reactions that occur. They are written at a 2nd-3rd grade reading level and are really engaging and fun to read. I love seeing collections of STEM books growing on different reading levels and various topics.
Ada Twist decides to bake a birthday cake for her father's birthday. Using science she explains all steps used to baking the cake, and explains how baking is a science. An informative read with bits of history included and simple science experiments at the end of the book.
