Robin Patchen is a USA Today bestselling and award-winning author of Christian romantic suspense. She grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, the setting of her Nutfield Saga books, and then headed to Boston to earn a journalism degree. After college, working in marketing and public relations, she discovered how much she loathed the nine-to-five ball-and-chain. After relocating to the Southwest, she started writing her first novel while she homeschooled her three children. The novel was dreadful, but her passion for storytelling didn’t wane. Inheritance of Secrets was a fascinating cold case story! It was the first time for me to read this author, so I had obviously not read any of the earlier books in the series, however I was easily able to jump into this book with no trouble.

Once Aspen arrived in Coventry, it became clear that there were a lot of people who did not want her there and held a long time grudge against her mother. The author did a great job of slowly allowing Aspen to learn what had happened all of those years earlier. Although I was able to piece some parts of the mystery together as the story moved along, the author was still able to surprise me as every piece was revealed.

I really liked Garrett and the way that he and Aspen were drawn together. They really clicked as a couple, yet they had some roadblocks to overcome and Aspen definitely had reasons to worry regarding who she could trust. This novel had a good faith message woven into it and characters who were believers.

New favorite of the series!

I love cold cases. While the mystery of Aspen's mother isn't officially an open case, she was last seen 30 years ago. The dying wish of Aspen's father is to "do the right thing" for her mother. With little to go on, Aspen temporarily moves from her nearly lifetime home in Hawaii to Coventry, New Hampshire. With Aspen looking just like her mother and most long time residents believing her mom was a criminal, Aspen's reception by that age segment is lukewarm at best.

Aspen's plan to update the home she inherited in Coventry, sell it and then leave. It would be fun to see photos of the home the author had in mind.

Lots of action and character development in the pages. The small town New Hampshire setting sounds like a wonderful place with the trees and mountains if you can handle the cold winters.

This isn't something I've commented on in a review before, but after having read a print book recently with small font, I especially enjoyed the font type and size for the Kindle edition of this book. The font size and type were just right for this reader's eyes. And yes, I know this can be adjusted on the Kindle, but it's nice to have the preset style be the one that works well.

My gratitude to the author for a complimentary e-copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Inheritance of Secrets, book 6 in the Coventry Saga, is a page-turning, cannot put down, action packed novel with characters that stay with you long after you turn the last page. I fell in love with the community the Coventry Saga has ... and then the mystery/suspense of each book keeps me coming back for more. Each character has his/her own quirks/struggles yet the acceptance of the group and the coming together to help each other no questions asked is something our society needs more of. Maybe by reading this book we can all accept the challenge to do our part to bring that sense of belonging back to our sphere of influence. Wonderful book, cannot wait for book 7 to be released.

Will the truth set them free or lead to turmoil?

You'd think with the literally thousands of books that I've read over the years that I would have learned to read a series in order from the start. You'd think... But not me. Nope, I've never read a Robin Patchen novel before and I just had to pick up Inheritance Of Secrets as my first. The book, of course, being the sixth novel in her Coventry Saga series. But, lucky for me Robin Patchen is one of those very nice authors who writes a series that is interconnected but can still be read standalone. Why did I start the Coventry Saga series SO out of order you ask? Well, I'll admit that it was that back cover blurb that had me totally intrigued right from the beginning. Decades old mystery, a mysterious house, a town with things to hide, and a dying wish... Yep, all of that and more!

Needless to say, Inheritance Of Secrets lived up to that blurb quite well. There were many twists and turns and just as soon as I thought I had it all wrapped up in a neat package with a bow on top here came another surprise. The identity of the main culprits did not elude me but Robin Patchen did a great job of inserting a few red herrings that sidetracked me for a bit.

As a romantic suspense Inheritance Of Secrets was spot on. Robin Patchen's skill with drawing the past and present threads of the mystery together as well as laying out the clues and information in just the right order at the right time was excellent. This may have been my first Coventry Saga read but I'm hoping it won't be my last...I have at least five previous books to catch up on now...

This novel had so many moving and interesting parts, I’m not quite sure where to begin. There was adventure, romance, mystery, suspense, action, and so much more. Then add in the chapters that were a peek back in time and wow. This was a story that kept me on my toes! Not only was I trying to figure out what the secret of Aspen’s mom was, but also trying to figure out who was going after Aspen herself.

And let’s not forget the cute carpenter! Garrett can come to my town and work anytime lol. What I actually liked about him the most was the way he openly talked about his faith, his loyalty to his family, and his determination and hard working ethic. Is he put in a tough position? Sure. Did he handle it exactly the way I wanted him to? No. But that just means that Robin Patchen is a good author and chose to write his character authentically instead of force him to do something different. Trust me when I say this – he will be on your book boyfriend list. He’s a nice guy, and one that you’ll be swooning over.

Patchen had me sitting on the edge of my seat reading this novel. I was surprised how it turned out in the end – I had the wrong person all along. But honestly? That’s what made it so great to read. I love being wrong about the whodunnit. It means the author creatively put things throughout the story to throw me off the trail. Patchen brought everything together perfectly in the end, and left me wanting to follow Aspen and Garrett after their story ended. Thankfully I have a pretty creative mind, so I was able to work that out ok 🙂

Oh what tangled webs we weave…
Secrets never stay buried. They follow you as a shadow, and they will eventually, in some way, somehow, be revealed.
Aspen’s father had secrets. He thought he was doing the right thing keeping certain sordid details from his daughter. Ms. Patchen braves the difficult topic of mental illness and the far-reaching and long-lasting effects it can have and the swath of destruction it can leave in its wake. [SPOILER]
Aspen walks in blindly to ghosts of such destruction. Wanting nothing more than to honor her father’s last request, she forges ahead in her task, intent on selling the house and leaving for a warm climate.
But her search becomes convoluted and dangerous [SPOILER.]
Aspen’s heart, though, is playing the most dangerous game of all—falling for the hot contractor hired to renovate the house.
Garrett, too, is falling into the danger zone, and tasks himself with keeping her safe.
This is my second Coventry Saga book, and I’ve grown to think of the characters as friends. I appreciate the circle of friends and sense of community the author has established throughout the series. No quaint little town, though; Coventry has more than its share of mysteries—and dead bodies. Ms. Patchen ratchets up the suspense with each page, hurtling the reader on a tempestuous journey.

I was invested in what happened to Aspen right from the get-go. She became a friend of sorts and I cared about what happened to her. She had a difficult life growing up without her mother, although she dearly loved her father and he was devoted to her. After she loses him, she travels at his last request back to Coventry, New Hampshire where she was born. There were so many secrets that needed to be found out and exposed but where to begin? She becomes acquainted with Garrett who was hired to remodel a house that her dad bought without her knowledge a couple of years previously. They became fast friends but also had some ups and downs. The shunning of many of the small town’s residents did not lead to a welcoming feeling and the subsequent break in of her house and the close calls on her life had her questioning why she was even there. Mysteries, secrets, danger all adds up to a compelling story that kept me up late at night trying to find out “who dunnit”. Grab a sweater (it’s cold and snowy in N.H.) a comfortable seat, a hot cup of coffee and see if you can figure out who did what, I sure got surprised!

"Find her. Do what I never . . . had the courage . . to do." Her father's final words.

The year following her father's death, Aspen Kincaid sold her father's successful restaurants in Hawaii, packed up her minimal belongings, and jetted half-way around the world to Coventry, New Hampshire .. . . . . towards a home that Aspen never even realized her father had purchased; in the town where she had been born, in the town where her mentally ill mother had disappeared thirty years prior. Impressed that her contractor, Garrett McCarthy had already sketched out some beautiful renovation plans for the property, Aspen was still fairly convinced that she only wanted to give the old home a face lift, sell it for a healthy profit, and move on with her life. She never counted on Coventry's cold reception or what it might cost to investigate her messy family history. And of course, she never imagined that someone might want to cause her bodily harm.

Aspen needed help. Could Garrett be that person, or would forming a personal attachment be a mistake; the better question being, could she trust him? And if not him, then who?

Wow. This story just kept on going . . . in many different directions . . . . right up until the very end. Aspen and Garrett both have their share of misunderstandings and rightfully so; Coventry's ugly secrets are buried deep, and have been for years. Only the "secret place of the Most High" will prove to be a safe place for Aspen to take refuge.

Before Aspen's dad died unexpectedly, he shocked her by telling her to find her mother, whom she hadn't seen at all in so many years she didn't even remember her. And that was going to take moving from warm and beautiful Hawaii to snow-covered New Hampshire. When she gets to the home her father left her, she's shocked by its size (and acreage). But Garrett, the remodeler, as he's telling her how much work has to be done to make it sale-worthy, also reveals some unsavory truths about the house's history. So then there's that.

Aspen is drawn to Garrett; to his kindness, support, and faith. (Plus he's such a cutie!) But others in town recognize Aspen for who she is; her mother's daughter. And apparently they're holding a real grudge against her--for good reason. Aspen's beginning to be worried that her life is in danger. Should she stay and try to solve the mysteries? Or should she get out of town as soon as she can?

Robin Patchen's Inheritance of Secrets is a fantastic stand-alone read. But it's also part of her Coventry series. You should definitely check all of them out! Robin builds a great story with appealing cast members. And, there's also that mystery, which you will want to solve alongside Aspen!

Inheritance of Secrets
Coventry Saga #6
By Robin Patchen

She never knew her mother and her father's last words were to find the woman who disappeared years ago. Aspen Kincaid is determined to find the answers she seeks, but finding them may be harder than she ever imagined.

Coventry, New Hampshire, remembers Jane Kincaid, and all the animosity they felt towards her is now directed at the daughter who never knew her. Aspen will renovate the house she inherited and learn all she can about her parents before she leaves Coventry behind forever.

Garrett McCarthy is caught in the middle of everything when he is hired to renovate a stranger's home. But though she is a stranger, it seems Coventry has a long memory and wants answers too. And they have decided that Garrett is their best way to get them. But is Garrett willing to spy on this woman who is seeking one last connection with her parents and to uncover the secrets long hidden away?

Inheritance of Secrets layers years of secrets one upon another so that one has to wonder if the truth will ever be revealed? This is the sixth book in the Coventry series, but it can easily be read as a standalone if you have not read the previous books. The suspense builds as the book progresses so that putting it down will become increasingly more difficult, so plan accordingly before you begin reading. And as to who is the guilty party, well, there is an abundance of potential suspects who could be hiding the truth.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion - all thoughts expressed are my own.

Inheritance of Secrets is book number six in the Coventry Saga series that is written by Robin Patchen. I have only read a few books in the series, they can all be read as stand alone books. One of the things that I adore about this author is that she always writes such action packed suspenseful stories that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Aspen Kincaid has felt that her father has lied to her for sometime. When her father confesses that he did not do enough to try and find her mother he makes her promise she will find her. The cold case has been cold for awhile. When Aspen travels to Coventry, New Hampshire to a house that she had no idea that her father owned it seems that the town wants nothing to do with her. They believe that her mother was a criminal. Did they dislike her mother enough to make her disappear?

This book has a little bit of everything. It has Mystery, adventure, suspense, romance, and so much more. I was guessing until the end. Since I have read a few other books in the series, it was fun to revisit Coventry. The characters are well written and well developed. Her stories are always unique. I cannot wait until the next story.

Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

If you love reading books that are real page-turners, Inheritance of Secrets is going to be one of your favorites. This award-winning author really captures the attention of the reader and they will picture each scene in their minds. That’s what awesome books do! In this Christian romantic suspense, the two main characters are very deep and we learn about their physical, mental, and spiritual lives. I love how they go through significant trials and yet go to God for help and wisdom. Because of this, their prayers are answered.

This story is filled with non-stop action, drama, and danger. Aspen and Garrett are so different but they fall in love as they endure a lot of anguish. When Aspen arrives in the small town, her mission is to sell a house that her father left her for an inheritance. But, she also wants to find the secret to her mother’s disappearance thirty years ago.

Inheritance of Secrets, by Robin Patchen, is part of the Coventry Saga series. This is a good stand alone story that takes place in Coventry, New Hampshire. Aspen’s father is seriously injured in an accident and tells her he is leaving her a home in Coventry and that she should do right by her mother. A year after his death, she moved to the house in Coventry and tries to figure out what he meant about her mother, whom she always thought was dead. People in Coventry do not want her there bringing up the past. With the help of local contractor Garret she is able to restore the home, she plans to sell so she can move forward with her life.

This is a well written story that got my attention right away and held it to the end. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense as Aspen tried finding out what happened and where her mother was. It was fun to see the friendship between her and Garret and how he was there for her. This story touches on mental health issues as well as violence and murders.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story, this is my honest review.

If you love Christian mystery and suspense you will enjoy Inheritance of Secrets. I must say this book kept me on the edge of my seat. So many twist and turns that kept me guessing who did it and secrets that blew me away. I couldn’t put this book down until the last page, I just had to know the secrets that was being hidden. Aspen is in danger at every turn, someone doesn’t want her to figure out what happened so long go and will do whatever they can to keep her from finding out. I was so surprised to find out who was behind all the attempts on Aspen’s life. I love the romance that is woven into the story as it just ties everything up so nicely. Looking forward to the next book!

I so enjoyed this book. I'm now a new fan of Robin Patchen!

This mystery was gripping, and yes, I got to the ending and went, "What?!" So didn't see that coming!

This is book 6 of her series on Conventry, New Hampshire, and it's the first one that I've read. I didn't feel the least bit lost or like I'd missed things by not reading them in order. In fact, I'm reading the next in the series, which I think came out only last month. Then I'll go back and catch up with the first 5 books.

My next read in this series is LINEAGE OF CORRUPTION. Anyone wanna join me?

Another great read from Robin Patchen! This book follows Aspen Kincaid, who grew up in Hawaii and upon her father's death learns that she's inherited a house in Coventry, NH. She heads there in hopes of finding answers about what happened to her mother who has been missing since Aspen was a baby. Garrett McCarthy is the contractor Aspen has hired to update the house so that she can sell it once she finds the answers she's seeking. After meeting Aspen, he's smitten pretty quickly. But her arrival in town has stirred up some old grudges and has dredged up a 30 year old mystery. When dirty looks from towns people starts becoming more sinister, Aspen has to decide if finding answers is more important than her own life.

This was a fabulous romantic suspense that delved into a mystery of the past that someone wants to keep buried there. While this is the 6th book in the series, it could definitely stand alone - though there are some references to Touch of Innocence that would be better understood if you've read that book at least. As far as the other books are concerned, it was just nice to "catch up with some old friends" from those. Garrett was introduced as a side character in Touch of Innocence as well, though we meet Aspen for the first time in this book. I really enjoyed the pacing of the mystery and the overall plotline of this one. It had a solid faith thread as well and I appreciated the characters relying on their faith when the going got tough. While I did see some of the twists and turns that came through this one, I definitely didn't see them all and this was quite a fun ride! I also enjoyed Aspen's take on the cold of NH in January after having lived in Hawaii her entire life. My only complaint is that the romance moved a bit too quickly for my liking, but that's a personal preference. While I know that it can happen that quickly in real life, I prefer that my novel characters move a bit more slowly. Aside from that preference though, this was a fantastic read! I would definitely recommend to fans of inspirational romantic suspense.

Special thanks to the author for an advance e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

A Love Story …. new love, dangerous love, old love with long buried secrets

Inheritance of Secrets is a good title for this book as it truly was lies Aspen inherited. Not from her dad though, he spoke truth about her mother’s fate, always claiming he ‘thought’ she was dead … but on his death bed he opened up a can of worms. He only got a few words out of his confession before his last breath, and that sent Aspen looking, investigating and unearthing long buried secrets. And the only reason to have secrets buried is when they are dangerous, when they can expose ugly truths and when people in high places will suffer.

This is another page turner full of emotion, insecurities and determined good guys and bad guys . Often its hard to know which is which. There are horrid life and death challenges. However, Its a love story in the making, a new love story digging up an old love story with buried secrets. Just remember there are different kinds of love… true love, committed love, obsessive love, self-love. As I said, this is a love story… but which kind? There will be winners and losers with surprises along the way.

👁^👁 OBSERVATIONS:

➦ Faith becomes very important in some very scary situations. Fear can make smart people do really bad and dumb things. It also compels people to make choices… both good and bad. Fear and faith are opposite. Choices must be made by more than one of these characters. Will fear rule or faith reign?

➦ Poor Garrett. He was put between a rock and a hard spot.

➦ Knowing something and proving it are two very different things.

➦ Love can make people do things they never imagined, it can be used to protect or to coverup.

I received an advance copy of this book and am leaving my personal thoughts and opinions.

Imagine living all but the first year of your life in Hawaii and suddenly learning that you have inherited a house in New Hampshire. Going a step further, imagine going there and having multiple people telling you that you look just like your mother of whom you have no recollection. Aspen was reared by her father who only told her that her mother disappeared and was presumed dead. On his death bed, he made a special request for her to do for her mother what he never could. In Coventry, she meets Garrett who was recommended by her attorney as the best contractor for fixing up the house so she could sell it. Mystery and intrigue hover around every corner. Some people seem to hate her just because of what her mother did. Others act almost afraid of her, or of what she will find. But she also makes a few friends. Without them, she doubtless would have tossed her promise to her father out the window and left New Hampshire far behind shortly after her arrival. I have never been to Hawaii, but I can certainly empathize with her extreme dislike for the cold weather in New Hampshire. I enjoy a good mystery. I also like a story that shows people of faith struggling to come to grips with the evil around them and working diligently to become stronger in their faith despite the bad things that happen to them. Aspen and Garrett displayed that kind of faith. I felt that the author injected just the right amount of romance to enhance but not overpower the real story. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

This was a very interesting read as all of Patchen’s books are. Aspen Kincaid is raised by her father without a mother, knowing only that she left them when she was small. Then her father unexpectedly dies and makes this request as he lays dying. Find her mother. He confesses that he didn’t do right by her mother and ask Aspen to do what he never had the courage to do. She learns that she has inherited a house in a town where her mother and father once lived. So she goes there hoping to find out where her mother is, hoping that possibly she lives there. But this house is so run down and she finds out her father had only purchased it five years ago. Why did he do this? As Aspen starts looking into the past she find many locals are not happy with all of her questions. The more she digs the more dangerous it gets for her. The more she learns about her mother the more she wishes she didn’t know. Where is her mother and why did her dad make this strange request of her. Of course Patchen weaves in some romance and a mystery with many different turns that keep you guessing along with Aspen. The ending is quite unexpected and makes you look forward to the next book by this author……. Special thanks to the author for an advance e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Inheritance of Secrets is a spell-binding, thrilling read. Aspen Kincaid's father was involved in a tragic accident, and with his dying breaths tells Aspen to find her mother who disappeared many years earlier. After discovering her father left her a house in New Hampshire, Aspen sells his restaurants in Hawaii and goes there with a plan to sell the house. She learns that her mother had been unstable mentally and went overboard with environmental issues. She meets stares of hatred from some of the townspeople who hold her mother responsible for a tragic event resulting in a death. As Aspen delves into trying to find out what happened to her mother, strange things begin to occur, and it becomes obvious someone is trying to kill her, but who and why? She has hired a contractor, Garrett McCarthy, who also wants to protect her, but while his aunt is friendly to Aspen, his uncle is very hostile toward her. Someone is very afraid for the truth to surface, but Aspen is determined to uncover the truth if she can survive long enough. And while she has developed feelings for Garrett, she really doesn't know who she can trust. There are many twists and turns before this story comes to a conclusion. I highly recommend this fascinating book which is another example of this author's great writing skills.

I received an ARC of this book; the opinions expressed above are entirely my own.

Robin Patchen is a master at pacing stories to keep readers highly engaged. I walked around for three days with my Kindle as the text-to-speech feature read Inheritance of Secrets to me as I moved from task to task, putting it aside only when people or tasks required my complete attention. The characters felt so authentic and relatable, the mystery and drama so compelling, and the dialogue so natural.

Aspen Kincaid had always believed her mother to be dead, that is until her father's last words following a terrible accident. Now she is on a mission to follow through with her dad's direction to find her mother and do right by her. Garrett McCarthy had never met anyone quite like Aspen. He was anxious to not only do the renovation job on the house her father had left her, but also to get to know her better and protect her from the townspeople who seemed to blame Aspen for her mother's past. However, doing so would require making some very difficult choices.

I am once again able to share my enjoyment of Robin Patchen's writing talent with other readers, and am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from the author without obligation. All opinions expressed here are sincere, and are my own.

When Aspen Kincaid's father dies, she is tasked to leave their home in Hawaii and travel to Coventry, NH. Her father's last words were to find her mother and take care of her. Wait, what?? Aspen's father always told her that her mother left when she was a child and is presumed dead.
When Aspen arrives in Coventry, she's received with mixed feelings. Why do so many people who've never met her dislike her? What was her mother like? As she searches for the answers to so many questions, she hires Garrett, a local, to renovate the old house she's inherited so that she can quickly put it on the market, sell it, and be gone--while she looks into her mother's "disappearance". But so many delays and interferences happen along the way. Secrets abound, as do mysteries and a few unexpected twists. Why would Aspen's father send her on a journey that would put her life in danger?? Garrett becomes more than an employee and tries to help Aspen in her search until family entanglements get in the way. A riveting, page-tuning, suspenseful story. I highly recommend this book and this series! Awesome! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have given my honest opinion in this review.

Inheritance of Secrets, by Robin Patchen

Aspen Kincaid’s father confesses on his deathbed that he didn’t do right by her mother and ask Aspen to do what he never had the courage to do. This sends Aspen in a tail spin as she’s only been told that her mother disappeared and is presumed dead. At the reading of her father’s will, she finds out that she’s inherited a house in Coventry, New Hampshire. Aspen heads to Coventry to fulfill her dying father’s wish.

Aspen hires local contractor Garrett McCarthy to fix up the house she inherited so she can sell it. Garrett is all too happy to get the work which he hopes will drum up more business. Aspen and Garrett grow close and Garrett becomes protective of Aspen.

As Aspen starts looking into the past, she find many locals are not happy having her digging around. The more she digs the more dangerous it gets for her. The more she learns about her mother the more she wishes she didn’t know.

Follow Aspen and Garrett on this page turning mystery. I highly recommend this book! It keeps you guessing until the end. Another great book by Robin Patchen and she definitely does not disappoint her readers. This is book six in the Coventry Saga. With that said this book is considered a stand alone.

Happy Reading!

Knowing it and proving it are two different things!

A death in the family can create all kinds of interesting dilemmas. For Aspen, the sudden death of her father sends her to the place of her birth to try to solve the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. The author brings back many of the wonderful characters from the Coventry Saga who are ready to befriend and help this stranger. However, there are many who would rather see her gone and they go out of their way to show her that they really don’t want the mystery solved. Who really was behind the disappearance, the explosion, the murder and more? Was her mother really to blame?

You are not your mother any more than I am my father - we are first God’s children. A statement made by Garrett, her general contractor. Relationships with family can be hard, as it was for both of them, but it helped to remember that God loved them regardless.

This ARC was received through JDO Publishing. These thoughts and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

Ms. Patchen has done it again! Oh my the secrets in this book are amazing and so difficult to figure out. I not for one second had any idea who was behind the secrets from the past! I most certainly would not have liked to walk down the streets of Coventry and had to deal with the looks poor Aspen does and not know the reason for it! I liked that the author brought out some issues that people deal with everyday especially in the last few years of covid. Garrett is an awesome lead make in the story and really added to my enjoyment of this book. Ms. Patchen has a knack for writing books that are intriguing, full of suspense, laughter and love, with the love of God overshadowing it all. We get to read a teaser for the next book at the end of this one,and it has my curiousity aroused to get prepared for it! I love this authors books and have not been disappointed in any of them!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion.

A clean Christian romance filled with suspense and twists, you won't see coming. Aspen's fathers dying request was, you need to do right by your mother. What did that mean? Aspen's desire to fulfill her fathers dying request, leads her to Coventry where he bought a house. Why did he buy this house? Her arrival stirs up memories from an event which occurred thirty years ago, which has some townspeople on edge and others wanting answers. In her quest for the truth, her life is put into danger. Everyone wants to know where her mother is. Is she dead or alive? Will she uncover the truth? Who can she trust? A budding romance begins with Garrett, the one person she felt safe with but did he betray her? He must choose between the family he loves and the woman he loves, an almost impossible task. After thirty years, will the truth be disclosed and justice served? Read to find out. Recommend. Received an ARC and this is my honest voluntary review.

Have you ever felt completely alone? Without a friend, a family member, no one to share feelings, ask questions, get advice from? Well, meet Aspen. It's pretty much been only her father and her all of her life, and since she worked for him in his restaurant business, she didn't have much time for a social life, anyway. Daddy dies: Aspen is left all alone with a strange deathbed request from him. A year later she leaves her longtime home in Hawaii to go to Coventry in hopes of fulfilling said request.

To me, it was a very emotional read and, for the most part, heartwarming. While my very favorite genre is mystery, it seems like most women prefer romance. And, by all means, I need a clean book (spiritual/Christian is a bonus), so Ms Patchen's stories cover all of those bases. I hope we can expect more in the Coventry series (either that or Nutfield)!
