My wife and I, as per usual, had our sons and their partners for Christmas (2016) (we also have 2 birthdays over this period) so we plan in advance what meals we are going to have what days and try and prepare as much as possible.
Out of the 7 of us sitting down to eat, 3 are diagnosed as coeliac (including my wife) and 1 is on a voluntary gluten-free diet in support of his partner, and as such this book is generally Gluten free.
For the first of the family birthdays (the 23rd) we decided to prepare a large Tapas meal with around a dozen different dishes. We had practised some a fortnight earlier and it had gone relatively well. On the day itself, yes it was tiring (especially as my wife had a stinking cold) but it went even better.
What went down well was the chorizo in red wine, the broad bean dish, the meatballs, the salsa, the aioli, the spicy potatoes and the spicy chilli prawns.
A great book with some wonderful sharing recipes, well worth attempting as many as you like the sound of, we did.

Mostly simple, few-ingredient dishes, which is good in some ways. Nothing complicated, but not much unexpected, either.

Still, there's some good ideas and the photography is lovely.

There are many great recipes in this book, and the photos are beautiful. I only wish that she had included some instructions on where to purchase some items that might be difficult to find, such as Spanish chorizo (which is more solid than Mexican chorizo).
