In the far reaches of space, you have to keep your guard up to survive. But this gorgeous alien warrior is breaking down my defenses. Three years ago, alien raiders abducted me from Earth. I escaped to a remote trading planet, where I’ve scraped by and kept my identity as a human hidden… until one day I get caught stealing from a mysterious warrior named Rok. Aliens are dangerous and untrustworthy. Or at least, that’s what I’ve always thought. But Rok is different. Despite being furious that I took something from him, he doesn’t hurt me. Instead, he offers to help me. I’m not sure I should trust him—or if I can trust myself around him. Because every time I look into his gold-rimmed eyes, the ice around my heart melts a little. His touch sends licks of fire over my skin, and he gazes at me with such possessive heat that I feel like I’ll combust. But I know better than to put my faith in an alien. And I certainly know better than to fall in love with one. Right? Captured by the Alien Warrior is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring a gorgeous alien warrior with a damaged heart and a fierce heroine who finds out what it means to be claimed by her fated mate. If you like sexy aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed! Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.
I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚🖤❤️💜 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎 Character development: ☺️😊🙃😋 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Tara - she just got fired from her dead-end job and the next thing she knows, she is being kidnapped from Earth onto a spaceship where she finds that her government has given her as a tribute bride to a race of aliens who promised not to attack Earth in exchange for women. She is able to get to an escape pod and ends up crash landing on a planet where she finds herself in debt to an alien crime lord. She works for another crime boss as a burglar, trying to pay off the big crime lord, little by little until she finds her debt has come due and she has two weeks to pay in full.
The Hero:Rok - he is a warrior from Zivon and is able to change colors from tan, to green and to nearly black. When his home world was destroyed, he found himself on a planet where he makes a living as a weapons designer and maker. He makes a decent living, but what he really wants is to find others of his kind that were able to escape Zivon. He is able to get seeds from a Zivonian plant that can be used to find others of his kind.
The story: When Tara is caught by Rok after stealing his seeds, she doesn’t feel too bad. She does what she has to do to survive, and they are only seeds, no matter how valuable her boss thinks they are. Though Rok tells her how important they are to him and how the plant they will grow is the only way he may find others of his kind, she realizes that they are more than just seeds. Rok promises to help her pay her debt if she returns his seeds and she agrees.
This is pretty standard alien romance fare. The two main characters are immediately attracted to each other and before long, find out they are fated mates. The storyline about the crime boss was pretty good, though nothing new. Of course, human females were in high demand as sex slaves. I don’t like that trope, since it is the same in every single alien romance. I mean, I wish some romance authors would try to be at least a little original.
This audiobook was told in two points of view via dual narration and was narrated by C.J. Grey and Stephanie Kay. I liked both of these narrators quite a bit. C.J. Grey has a deep voice but is kind of soft spoken, which matches Rok exactly. Stephanie Kay has a youthful feminine sounding voice which I really enjoyed as well.
I am 100% trying to chase the high from Desire in His Blood so this is me trying to start a new series.
3.5 ⭐ overall?
This was a good set up for the series. (Also, these are surprisingly quick reads ~200-250 pages a piece). There definitely felt like there was some inconsistencies with the pacing but still enjoyable.
Tara is a tough human, all alone on an alien world after escaping her abductors. She's adapted and wary of all aliens at this point (which, you know, smart.)
Love her and Rok's slow burn as they learn to trust each other and get to know one another. And loved their near-death experience, adrenaline-induced frenzied ✨moment✨ and everything that happened after 😏🔥
I loved this book! A wonderful new series! I completely fell in love with Presley Hall's Voxeran Fated Mates series and Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors series. Both were excellent and I was sad when they came to an end. But this new series has the same magic for me that those did. Great world building. I loved that this takes place in the same universe.
Earth's government is willingly giving up women no one would miss to the Orkun alien race who would use them as tribute brides in exchange for not invading. This story follows Tara who was taken from Earth by the Orkun, but manages to get away in an escape pod and crash lands on a dangerous planet. She's lived there for three years disguised so no one knows she's a Terran female. But she owes a large debt to a powerful alien who's just set a deadline. She accepts a job to steal a packet of rare seeds to get the money she needs to pay back what she owes. Rok is separated from his people. The packet of seeds are all that remain of them from his home-world and possibly the only way for him to find what's left of his people. I absolutely loved these characters. The story is exciting and suspenseful. I'm so happy to delve in this new world and am greatly looking forward to book two. 5 stars.
First, I have to say this, Rok is one of the most swoon worthy heroes ever! I am head over heels for this alien stud. He is the whole package...sexy, sweet, warrior with a heart of gold. Tara is a badass woman who was stolen from earth, fought her way free and taught herself skills she needs to stay alive on a cesspit of a planet. This book just keeps getting better and better! What a joy to read! The world building is outstanding. The characters are wonderful and the story is superb. This is a great beginning to a new series! I know I will be waiting impatiently for each new book. Presley Hall is a first rate writer who draws you into her world so tightly that you never want to leave.
I was given an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review
**spoilers** A couple of things bugged me - like how she didn’t hide her identity at all in front of the burglar and even talked about her work in front of him. After years of vigorously hiding her identity that didn’t ring true (and it was careless). Didn’t matter in the end, but it still bugged me. Towards the end I was skipping the sex scenes completely (unnecessary and long).
We have another series that we are going to love. This is just the first book but I was so engrossed in this new alien world that I can clearly imagine myself with our MCs. What I liked the most is our female lead who is equally brave and strong as our male lead who made her swoon (toi aussi).
I am looking forward to reading more from this series.
A great new series by Presley! This story is full of action, adventure and heat 🔥 I really enjoyed the heroine, she was complex and logical and a perfect fit with the hero. This is great book escapism and the author has a fantastic voice. Happy reading!
The first book of this new series by Presley Hall was a delightful read! Tara and Rok had a wonderful romance, and their story meshed into the world created in previous stories, while not needing them to be understandable. I enjoyed the slow burn as Tara and Roc came to trust each other and worked together to conquer their enemies and earn their HEA. I’m very much looking forward to the next book in the series!
The Zivon warriors series has blasted onto Amazon and I can’t wait for more! Hall is an exceptional writer, taking the reader to a fascinating alien world that has a beautiful love story at its center. I love the characters of Rok and Tara. They find each other in dangerous situations that my heart was in my throat for most of the book. The romance was steaming off the pages! Great introduction to a new series destined to become a cult favorite. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I struggled through this read so badly and I don't know why. I love alien smut. I love big tough guys that go all sappy for the woman. I love the fierce fighter of a woman... this book should hav given me everything I needed to be happy... but it didn't and I don't know what it was lacking but it took me over a week to get through it and ended up rereading an old book I liked to see if I was in a reading slump because while I love to read, and reread some books, if I am in a reading slump I cannot and I mean CANNOT reread a book I have already read. It will not keep my attention. I will lose all interest because I know the outcome already. Spoiler, I had no issue. In fact, I reread the whole damn series in a week instead of finishing this book because each time I came back to this book I got bored.
There was too much down time in this one, I think. Wasted time traveling and talking about how they had a lot of sex instead of showing it, and the whole fight was over too soon for me. I was so into this book up until they escaped and my mind said ONTO THE NEXT THEN... and I still had like 15% of the book to read only to hear that they got away, had sex, found people, and had more sex. Sigh.
I guess I am one of those that needs a semblance of plot to keep the book going for me, or real sex scenes, not just "And then we had a lot of sex. There wasn't a moment I could go without his huge Johnson penetrating my flaps." Obviously paraphrasing.
Anywho, I guess I figured out my issue with this one. It is a lot of telling a story instead of showing. Don't tell me you had a bunch of sex, show me. Don't tell me you were scared for your life SHOW ME.
I could have gone without the last 10% and been happier that it was over. Although, even as it was ended there are a lot of questions as to what the hell happens plot wise. But I think that's just the incentive to read the next book to see what happens to the aliens and their people as a whole.
I give it a 3-3.5
1 DNF 2 Struggled through and wished I DNFed or will NEVER read again 3 Good book 4 Really great book 5 Perfection. Forever a reread, nothing bad to say.
When I tell my friends that right now, my jam is reading sweet, mindless romance books, this is what I have in mind. There’s no complicated, edge of your seat plot to follow; no soul crushing angst; and no emotional roller coaster to stomp on my heart and then make it flutter. Just a sweet, even keeled romance to brighten ones day.
Tara was abducted from earth and somehow managed to escape her abductors and land on the planet, Hak Gavar (which sounds a lot like the “wretched hive of scum and villainy” known as Mos Eisley in Star Wars). She has managed to make a life for herself there, for the past 3 years, until her payment to the local kingpin comes due. She accepts a job for the massive amounts of credits she’s going to need to pay him off. But fate has other plans for her. Because the victim of this theft is local arms dealer/maker, Rok. . . And he turns out to be her fated mate.
We met Rok in Consumed, book 6 from the Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors series. He created the bomb that Tycran and Lucy used to blow up a strategic base for the Okrun. Our FMC, Tara is pragmatic about her circumstances, and seems to be a pretty strong female lead. Our sexy MMC is everything we want from a male lead . . . Hot, sexy, in-depth knowledge of the female human anatomy (don’t know where he picked that up since Tara is the first “terran” woman he’s been with, but I digress . . .) and very patient, and solicitous of his newfound mate.
Sure, it was pretty formulaic, but I still enjoyed the book. While I enjoyed the book, it didn’t knock my socks off, but neither did I find it horrible. This book did not end on a cliffhanger, and the epilogue sets up the next book in the series. If you like your romances dark, or with very a complicated plot, this isn’t the book for you. However, if you just want a nice romance between two beings that makes you feel good, then this may be your jam.
First of all I hate books written in the first person. Hate them. But I pushed through this book to the end. This is another example of a great idea that could have been a 4 star review with a little work.
SPOLIERS*****
We are just supposed to believe that our heroine survived by stealing and nobody noticed she was from Earth? She stole enough to buy a suit and visor that protected her identity, but the person she bought it from didn't notice she was different? She somehow became a good thief in 3 years?
Our hero...somehow made weapons and explosives and found a way to market them from this crap planet? How did he get the seeds for his plant if his planet was destroyed? Where did they come from? How did people know he had them?
Such a shame, this book could have been so much better. But I do like the race of people she created and I will suffer through this writing to read the next two when they come out.

I enjoyed this book as a whole. I've read a few alien romances and this kind of followed the same usual plot/storyline.
I don't really have many complaints but ONE that does stand out is the "alien language" why does EVERY alien romance that I read seem to use the same words.... Instead of the F@*k they always say "Vreck" which annoyed me more than I would like to admit.
Other than that, I will probably read the next book in the series.
It had a very strong and interesting start, but after they enjoy sexy times for the first time it felt like that’s what mostly happened for the rest of the book. They’re both such strong and badass characters that they should exploited that more in depth.

I loved how we jumped right into the action. The world and characters are captivating and believable. Very much looking forward to reading more in the series.
Such an exciting start to a new series by Presley Hall!! I fell in love with Rok even more than I already had from a previous story with Lucy and Tycran. Adding in another brave Terran (Earth) woman just enumerated to the excitement for a fresh matching with a new species, the Zivonians. And, the experiences they endured while living on Hak Gavar combined with searching for Rok’s brothers, made for so many intriguing moments filled with intense action.
“ꜰᴏʀ ʙᴇɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰɪᴇʀᴄᴇꜱᴛ ᴡᴏᴍᴀɴ ɪ’ᴠᴇ ᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴍᴇᴛ?”
Tara is full of a fire so fierce, a stubbornness so full of determination to survive, a fearless hunter filled with intelligence and braveness that makes her character so much fun!! How she was so wary and closed-off filled with so much anger with defensive walls built up to watch her transform into an open book filled with so much trust and love, was an absolute beautiful transformation to experience.
Never realized Rok was built so well, nor was there a detailed explanation of his features, which are so yummy 😋 but, it’s fun to finally see how he interacts with a female other than his initial interaction with Lucy. It’s different with his interest being piqued of Tara, experiencing his primal need to protect her at all costs, made me fall a little more with a rough warrior side mixed with a gentleness.
With a new alien species also comes new male anatomy and disappointment was the last emotion felt. Presley has taken the term “ribbed for her pleasure” to the next level with these Zivonian men. Their erotically charged pleasure for one another along with their rare and pure connection, a type of romance every one is hoping to find that’s not easily thrown away, will drive you through the end of the pages, captivating your mind along the way. Cannot wait for the next addition with Kate and Ryven!
I really loved this story of Tara & Rok. I was hooked right away with how they both suffered, and longed for their home planets that they will never see again. How the memories of Rox’s home of botany revokes such memories for them both. I can appreciate even that they come from different backgrounds, they can still be similar in the yearning for home.
I was impressed Rok had an idea to help her. He had no reason to do it, but he showed he wanted to help out of the goodness of his heart. He had showed he is a man of loyalty, and honor. He does what he has to do for work, and helps when he can. On a planet that sees a lot of crime, staling and thievery, it's not to see there are still good people out there.
I love how with this new race we see such a well known mark of signifying his soul mate. I don’t think i’ve seen that in any other stories. The fact he reaffirms he is willing to help her whether she wanted to be with him or not really touches something in my heart.
The fast action in the main plot is great. I like isn’t easy or without some hits, but it draws you in to each word on the page. I wasn’t prepared for some of the action, but it was worth every page!
The beauty of them sharing with each other, and really being open and honest. I so totally feel for this book and the characters.
You really see the nature of Zivonians of being peaceful, and welcoming. They did hesitate to help out when needed.
I can’t WAIT to continue on this series. I enjoy the contrast of how different this series is, and feel its got an even better connection. Presley Hall…..take my money….its worth every penny.
Tara is abducted from Earth and is about to be sold as a slave when she escapes and lands on an alien planet. She learns real quick that she needs to hide her identity so she wears a suit that covers her from head to toe so no one knows she's a human. But she owes money to the alien mob boss on the planet. He had told her he would give her time to pay the debt off but now he wants all his money or bad things are going to happen. So she sets out to steal a rare and valuable plant from Rok, thinking it won't be that hard.
But Rok does catch her and wants his plant back. He's willing to help her steal something else that's more valuable as long as he gets his plant back. This plant ends up having great meaning to him and we find out why later. So they team up to steal something that should be able to pay off her debt completely while spending time together planning the robbery. They get to really know each other and Tara finds out that not all aliens are as terrible as she had though but it still takes her a while to trust him completely after everything she's been through.
Rok has feelings for Tara but he doesn't act on them because he doesn't want to scare her and he doesn't think she could possibly feel the same about him but Tara has been fighting her feelings since meeting him. They end up making plans to leave the planet which throws them together for a period of time again and they stop fighting their feelings and get together but Tara isn't convinced about the mating bond that Rok says they have. I loved Rok, if we get invaded by aliens at some point, I can only hope they are like him.
Loved reading the story of Tara and Rok. Tara is a stubborn Terran Earth woman who must survive by stealing and trusting no one. Yet, the crime lord she went to help get rid of her captors. She now must pay the remaining amount of debt. She must steal seeds from an alien male who stole them from the rightful owner. Anyways, her attempt to steal from Rok she finds he doesn't let it happen. He fights to protect those seeds. She barely escapes and the next day Rok finds her thinking the theif is a man. In order to get his seeds back he rough's the theif up. But she is knocked unconscious. He sees this earth woman and takes her back to this warehouse where he ties her up. They end up agreeing in helping each other. After they vaguely talk about why they both need the seeds. Rok agrees to help her get enough money to pay back the crime lord of her debt. But they have to coveted item that is worth her debt and more. They must do this together; one cannot do it alone that would be to difficult. So, Tara and Rok are planning their next steps in getting this object. Can they get this object in time to pay off Tara's debt in time? Can they always fight their growing attraction towards one another? To say I love a little action romance is an understatement. If you love that too (hello repeat statement) you'll love this first book of this new series like me. I can't wait to see what will come next.
Really enjoyed this one. & the bonus epilogue Wish that either the book or bonus contained some sort of pregnancy HEA well i suppose i can hope thatll come up in the peripheral of another book in the series at least. Kinda wish that the females got a mating mark as well that feels more special and more like the explained link. And idk if im on board with the way it apparently shows up like after sex? Yeah i mean in some ways its good that it waits for that but in others its like what if theyre stubborn or like insecure or need a nudge or kick up the arse level push in the right direction? Then those couples would never happen... the fact that they feel the mate connection right away but have no like knowing of it til afterglow is... and only the dude means he could hide it if he wanted... idk the power dynamic and like the whole way it comes about doesnt make sense i mean if they can mate or have mates outside their species then said mates should also be able to have soul marks. I mean unless the authors waiting for them to appear on female after viable conception or birth which again would bring up a whole other can of worms problems... ugh idk i do love this universe and all the alien series in it including this one the whole mate mark thing felt a little lacking even if their bond was great and i really enjoyed the couple.
After being abducted from Earth our female lead survives day by day by hiding her identity and stealing for a living. Our alien has lost everything and is waiting for the day he can leave the planet to find what he is looking for. They meet under unfortunate circumstances but must work together to get what they both want. They find love along the way but can they overcome their fears to tell each other and give it a shot? It was a cute book. I was really invested once I read the first two chapters. It was well written and there is both character development and world building. I especially liked how the female lead is strong, capable and stubborn and doesn't do anything stupid (which happens a lot in this genre). I enjoyed how the male lead is great in a fight but shows a sweet and sensitive side. He also listens and respects what the female lead says and contributes. There are a few things that are not believeable and maybe could have been explained better. I didn't really buy how the two heroes planned the project they worked on together. It didn't seem like enough. I also didn't really understand how they jumped on doing this specific thing together either. It didn't take my enjoyment away from the story though. Incan see myself reading the next one.
I love a capable female lead, but sometimes I find it hard to believe she survived as long as she did. Given the kind of planet she’s on, it makes sense that she’d be paranoid, wary of strangers, and generally distrustful. Yet she was quick to
She also let her guard down After years of carefully hiding her identity, it didn’t even cross her mind that he could reveal the existence of a human woman. Maybe he wouldn’t make the connection that she’s the masked thief, but just the fact that a female human is out there would cause trouble. I also rolled my eyes when
This was OK. I liked both MCs but wasn’t feeling it that much between them? They lacked true emotional intimacy and it felt all a bit forced. The writing could’ve also been edited more. I think there were some scenes and internal dialogue that could’ve been removed or shortened and this is already a pretty short book. That being said it left the developments and interactions between MCs pretty lacking. A week or so passes since they meet but that kind of happens in like 10 pages or so? So more interactions could’ve been fleshed out. Is this how the author writes? It’s my first that I’ve actually read in its entirety by the author. I also found there to be way too much smut and it jumped to it way too quickly.
This was recommended to me and they said book 2 was their favorite. So I’ll continue on to at least that and potentially 3 as it seems like it’s my tropes in a book.
Three years before, human Tara was abducted but escaped from them and ended up on a remote trading planet where she scrapes by and keeps her human identity a closely guarded secret. However, one day she is caught stealing from a mysterious warrior called Rok, and he completely acts against her stereotype of an alien as he is furious but also offers to help her. Not sure if she should trust him (or trust herself around him) she does what she can to avoid falling in love with him, however futile a task that is!
I really enjoyed this story with the danger, drama, respect and love it was a very enjoyable story. I loved Rok who was just adorable and I can understand why she fell for him. Easy to read and understand, it was a great start to the series and set the scene nicely for alien and human relationships in the future. Contains explicit sexual content.
Rok wants only one thing in the entire galaxy. He wants to relocate his people. A slippery little nighttime thief may have ruined his chances of ever finding a way home. Tara has high debts that have quickly caught up to her. She has only days left till those debts need to be paid in full. Luckily for the both of them a rare gem is soon to be auctioned off. Now only if they can team up to steal this precious gem.
Rok has a green thumb and a knowledge base full of crafting weapons. He is a real gem and Tara is used to having to care for herself. She is more reserved than Rok is and perhaps why I liked her overall. They are clearly fated mates as that always happens in Alien love stories. Rok and Tara sex scenes are not that interesting. There is passion written there but it feels one-sided. Rok has all the chemistry to be a great love interest but Tara brings the overall story down.
