This thirty year-old collection has some big names (Neil Gaiman, Larry Niven, and a delightful story from Terry Pratchett) but it really shows its age - a few of the stories have a ponderous humorlessness that I remember from the 80s, and there are some popular tropes from the period (there's more than one straight-faced story about courtly intrigue among anthropomorphic animals). But there are also some solid stories here, and I particularly liked the entries from John Sladek and RM Lamming - they're very different from each other, but they're both strange and memorable.
