Shifters, Secrets, Spies and one woman in the middle of it all.
Alyssa, code name Artemis. Yeah, there’s a reason she’s incognito at the DSA’s (Department of Shifter Affairs) new human-shifter training program. One which could get her killed if she’s not careful. She’s the only woman among a group of shifter and human males who are supposed to learn to work together to combat the anti-shifters. Guess how that’s going, BTW. Alyssa has her own reason for being in the program. And it isn’t to fall for three shifters…
An Alpha Heir who Thinks He’s in Charge. Rafe’s alpha tasked him with keeping the peace between the humans and shifters in the new program. Rafe’s distracted by Alyssa, who would be perfect for him and his wolf. If she weren’t human. Rafe has to ignore the bewitching female. Easier said than done.
A Shifter Going Feral. Tiernan needs to blood-bond Alyssa to keep from going feral. But can he explain the ramifications of the blood-bond to a human who knows practically nothing about shifters before his wolf seizes control?
A White Wolf with a Secret (and a penchant for trouble). Maddox comes from the infamous Novak pack, where it’s each shifter for himself. Or is it? He joined the training program with revenge on his mind. Until the beautiful human female catches his attention.
◆◆◆ Ours to Protect. Ours to Love. Wolf Desired is the first book in a steamy reverse harem shifter romance trilogy that continues with Wolf Claimed. The story involves three shifters (one bossy, one sweet, and one too devilish for anyone’s good) and the female agent who has secrets that could destroy them all. Get ready for steam, action, and several twists along the way. Each book in the trilogy ends in a very Happy Ever After.

Artemis (Alyssa) is thrown in the deep end when she's put in training with a group of Humans and Shifters. All of which are male. So she's the automatically a target of all their attention (mainly unwanted) and the guy running the place - Graves who literally hates her with a passion. Artemis is strong, self reliant and completely focused on getting on in this programme. Only more complications come in the form of Shifters Rafe, Tieran and Maddox. Each with their own anxieties and problems. Not knowing how to deal with their growing attraction to Artemis. Lots of plot twists and a great cliffhanger ending. A great read and I'm dying to see what will happen next
Where to start….had a good idea poor follow thru??? One paragraph would contradict the next. I was scratching my head and rereading the prior paragraph just to make sure I wasn’t making stuff up in my head. Lol
DNF - quit at 67% The story had potential but fell short. There’s a lot of angst & mystery that actually slowed the story down, since I didn’t see any actual connection between characters, it just magically happens that she’s the super duper snowflake that every guy wants. (My bet is she’s a shifter but either was suppressed somehow or maybe got the virus as a child & raised by adoptive human father & doesn’t know she’s a shifter) There’s really not enough world building to establish a frame for the story. Definitely not enough shifter info either. Is this taking place in the future, or is this a bit dystopian to a degree? The story starts after she’s already part way into the first day at this this program trying to merge shifters & humans into a task force when they all clearly hate each other, even the instructor. There’s no background for her or the shifters, so we have no base to sort out anything about them. I really felt like I missed a prequel or that this splintered from another series that there was so much missing. I especially was puzzled if there’s only wolf shifters or other species of shifters in this book’s world. I really felt like the FMC had no business in this program either, all sorts of conundrums with her, definitely not kick@ss enough to be teamed with shifters in my opinion. I also really didn’t like her. The 3 shifters, well they had a degree of charm, & were the only reason I kept reading as far as I did. The relationships were not realistic, since there wasn’t enough info to explain the super fast bond between them (seemed like it all went down in less than 48 hours with minimal exposure with the guys) leaving a cobbled together feeling instead of legit emotional attachments developing. I didn’t even feel lust or any kind of chemistry.
At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
This is book one of the Guardian Wolves series and the main character is Alyssa, codename Artemis, who has joined a special human and shifter training program with the DSA (Department of Shifter Affairs. She is incognito on the program, pretending to be a federal officer, like the other human males on the program, which has a large number of shifters. A three to one ratio of shifters to human agents. The shifters have all been volunteered to come to the program by their alphas, to show that shifters and human agents can work well together. Especially at a time when there are anti-shifter groups out there trying to cause problems and kill shifters for no reason. A recent virus was released into shifter communities recently causing a large number of deaths and those that did survive, lost the ability to shift for ever! Alyssa has her own reasons for attending the program, something she must ensure no one else finds out about! In the initial line up with them all, the course leader picks on Artemis, trying as hard as he can to force her out. Something a few of the wolf shifters opposite don’t appreciate, with their protective nature towards females ingrained in the pack way of life. She notices a few of the shifters, one is Rafe, an alpha heir who must blood bond with a wolf, but feels himself drawn to Artemis, but tries to deny it. Another is Tiernan, a wolf who is going feral and will need to be put down if he loses control of his wolf completely. The last one is 86 as he likes to be called but really Maddox, a white wolf from the very aggressive Novak pack, who are all out for themselves. For the first task one human is paired up with four shifters, in a group to catch a fugitive, except Artemis is forced to be that fugitive. She has to avoid being captured for an hour, or she will fail and be kicked out! She has only a fifteen minute lead, so this is almost an impossible task. One of the shifters finds her, but he isn’t with a team, so doesn’t bother capturing her. The three wolf shifters soon get more involved with Artemis after Tiernan realises that his wolf needs to blood bond with Artemis, and doing so could stop him from going feral. Maddox realises he must refuse to allow his feelings for her to develop, as Tiernan clearly needs her the most, even Rafe holds back. Only being around or touching Artemis, allows his wolf to calm down stopping him from losing control. The lead DSA instructor still has it out for Artemis and pairs her with three other shifters, the alpha of which makes it clear he wants to take her, by violence if necessary, whether she is interested or not! She is forced to work with Kingsley and his two others, but when he traps her in a room in the accommodation block and tries to force himself on her, she is lucky her three shifters comes to the rescue. Rafe constantly has to rescue her and give Kingsley repeated warnings to leave her alone eventually getting her swopped to his team. They then have to go an complete a mission outside of the training grounds, but Rafe pulls his alpha card and refuses to allow her to take part in the dangerous part of the mission. The shifters get caught and it is only Artemis’ actions that allow them to come out on top. Her actions though, don’t go down well with their instructor Graves and decides she has to have words with him! Only to find out that he has proof of who she really is and is going to spill her secret to all! What she does next will have repercussions for her and her shifters, as we will soon find out. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book as Artemis gains a better understanding of shifters, gaining feelings for three of them and having a secret she needs to keep hidden! I really enjoyed seeing Artemis go from fearing shifters, to catching the eye of three of them and starting to learn about the shifter world. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
With anti-shifter attacks at an all time high, the government has decided to form the Department of Shifter Affair, or DSA. It’s supposed to be a force of both shifters and humans. The guy in charge of their training, Graves, is on an ego trip and has made it his mission to make all of them suffer, rather than teach them how to work together. None of the shifters have come voluntarily, all have been order there by their alpha.
Alyssa, code name Artemis, is a secret service agent and sharp shooter and the only female in the group. Graves hates her and is doing everything possible to get her kicked out. She is not going to let that happen!
Rafe is the son of the Alpha of his pack and pretty much hates all humans. His Alpha is hoping having to work together with humans will make him realize not all humans are bad. Rafe seems to have his own agenda.
Tiernan is in danger of going feral and thinks this is his alpha’s way of getting rid of him without having to take care of the problem himself. His wolf has decided Artemis is his mate.
86 is a white wolf, known for their aggression and fighting abilities. He lost his mate from the shifter virus and has been drifting ever since.
All of them seem to have their own secret agenda and working together doesn’t seem to be one of them. Can they put aside their differences and learn to work together because that may be the only way they survive!
This is going to be a great series and I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Well bother! This is part one of a series and I am hooked. I need to know it all! Now! Alyssa or Artemis as she is currently known as has been sent to be part of a joint exercise with the shifters. There is a reason for it but you don't find it out just yet. What you do find out is that she is resourceful, clever, kind and very good at keeping her temper (I so would have dropped myself in it). Also pretty which should makw you dislike her but somehow it doesn't. She has caught the eye of three of the shifters but there is only one who is more open to himself and her about it, Tiernan. He knows that time is running out for him as his wolf is turning feral and without a mate, there's a noose already round his neck. Maddox is in a quandary with himself. He isn't above making jokes and suggestions but he still holds back enough for that line to be seen. As for Rafe, he's an alpha and he has his own reasons and mission to accomplish while he is there. Last thing he needs is a tie to a human making him weak, then again being weak means you have to find other ways aside from brute force to get things done. Not sure he's realised that yet. All these people with their own hidden agendas at some point there is going to be one heck of clash... I am now VERY impatiently waiting to find out what happens next... VERY impatiently, just sayin'....
This first book is setting up the story line for the reader and introducing the characters who will be taking part in the project. Alyssa, using the code name Artemis, is the only female on the team. She and the males are attending the DSA’s (Department of Shifter Affairs) newly created human-shifter training program. The males have each been “forced” to attend with the goal of learning to get along with humans.
Rafe is son of the Alpha who sent him there. He is already distracted by Alyssa who would have been perfect if she were not human. Tiernan is a shifter who is turning feral and needs to mate with Alyssa to prevent that from occurring – and time is running out. He faces the difficulty of trying to explain all of this to the human. Maddox is a White Wolf from the aggressive Novak pack who all seem to be out for themselves. The human catches his attention as well. Unless all of them can learn to work together, none of them may survive the program. So far, it looks like each has their own individual agenda. And Graves, in charge of their training, is already determined to make them fail.
"An Amazing Reverse Harem shifter Romance series" The storyline is exciting and fun to read. The characters have awesome personalities. This new trilogy is about three shifters and a spunky young woman. Alyssa just joined the Department of Shifter Affairs aka DSA. The DSA is a program that is training government humans to work with shifters. To stop a anti-shifter organization. That is out to kill all shifters ,and any humans that associate with them. Alyssa is teamed up with three sexy wolf shifter's. Rafe who is to be the next Alpha of his pack. Maddox a sexy , but troubled white wolf, and Tiernan a sexy but troubled wolf shifter. Who may go feral! They all three want her, but Tiernan will go feral if she does not blood,-bond him. Only Alyssa has a secret that could ruin any relationship. She could have with them , and ruin her chances of being a DSA Agent. You will love this exciting, thrilling, funny and scorching hot shifter reverse harem romance!
This was a decent read but it would have been nice to know that this was a spin off of two of the author's previous paranormal series. I felt like I was missing part of the back story when they would mention events and people as if I should know who they were. The multiple points of view were nice but I really felt like I was missing a huge part of the picture while reading this. As much as I would like to read the next, it won't be happening anytime soon as I feel like reading the previous two series would be more beneficial. The plot was decent with twists and turns here and there but ended on a cliff hanger. By the end I was a little lost and confused on what was happening.
Three out of five stars.

Alyssa aka Artemis one of many new recruits at the DSA new training programe one that brings Shifters and humans together is already headed for trouble the shifters don't like the humans her instructor hates her and will do anything to get rid of her and there are 3 Shifters who want to know her personaly but there all keeping secrets. Rafe heir to his alpha father is in the programs only to see it succeed but he can't stand humans. 86 Maddox hasn't revealed why he's at the DSA but he's dealing with the loss of someone. Tiernan is going feral and needs to find his blood bonded mate his only hope now is Alyssa but Alyssa is having trouble dealing with her feelings for a!l three shifters and keeping on her mission.
This book ends in a cliffhanger and now I have to know what happens next. I was aloud to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
There's a bit of a feeling of just getting dropped in the middle of a bigger story. Not a ton of world building to establish if this is dystopian or current day. Both Artemis and Maddox have their own agendas which never really move forward in the plot. A bit flat and stereotypic in that Artemis is the only woman and all of the guys are making her life and job difficult. The characters feel a bit flat as well. Tieran just needs a mate. Rafe has his duty and Maddox is doing something while pretty much running from his past. Oh and Artemis wants to be taken seriously and pursue her own agenda and keeps saying how she needs to keep her distance and then is kissing (and more) one or another of the guys. Not interesting enough to continue with the series as a lot just felt repetitive (yes, Tieran, we know you need to blood bond or go feral).
This book was surprisingly emotionally complex. You spend time in everyone's head so you get a sense of all of them. Each shifter/human has so many secrets and so much history leading them to where they are. Including things they don't seem to want to admit to themselves.
As if all the internal character issues aren't enough there are huge added stressors of this new program and shifter/human relations. And males of all species being jerks. Yet it still feels like there is so much to learn. There is a good amount of info dumping and yet I still felt a bit lost from time to time. I kept thinking I was missing a book but this says it is the first one.

This was a really fun read. Different take on wolf shifters and pnr. I liked the characters and Alyssa was a good fmc, strong, likeable and has a lot of secrets. The reason for taking off one star is that we get maybe half an answer in this book to what’s going on. There are so many mysteries, including what Alyssa is doing there and we don’t get any clarity, at least not yet. I’m hopeful that book two lays it all out, for the readers at least. This was the kind of book that as soon as I finished I looked up the release date for book 2, fingers crossed it doesn’t get pushed!

This is the first book in a new series and I admit to being hooked, already eager to read the next book when it is released. The storyline is complex and at times surprisingly emotional and all the characters are complex and well-drawn and all seem to be keeping secrets.
Each character is different and each has their own issues and that's before you take into account the added stress caused by the new program and the difficulties in shifter and human relations. Although I enjoyed the story, I didn't like the way the author is handling Alyssa's secret. I did, however, enjoy the interactions between Alyssa, Maddox, Rafe, and Tiernan. I just wish it hadn't ended in a cliffhanger!
Wow! That is all I can really say. I mean each person in this story has a different mission, then you have one that could go feral. You get a dead man who hated women, so guess who the number one suspect will be. This woman needs to make up her mind what she is doing, she has three men who want her. But then again only one man has made it plain her will have her while the others back off. I really can’t wait for the next story, maybe it will explain the issue she has sometimes. So, we shall see!

Alyssa is in a training program to bring the government and shifters together in a task force to stop the groups of anti shifters. Tiernan, Maddox and Rafe are all shifters in the program and are attracted to the human Alyssa in ways they don’t understand. Being the only woman in the program leaves Alyssa in a strange position with danger, doubts, secrets, unsolicited attention, haters and feelings for three shifters as she tries to keep her position, feeling and secrets before it all unravels. Fun read

Humans and shifters are trying to unite. They don’t work right separately but they’re trying to make them work together. This is what this is about you have alphas and humans that have to be paired up to make them understand the differences between each other. There is action. There is crazy tactics that they are using in order to make the only female in the training basically their prey. She is fighting but 3 shifters want her. Maybe she can choose after she passes tor training? Hmmm. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely love this book. Well the whole story line really. I love that struggle that is brought up in this book. A female in a “mans” environment and what she has to fight against. On top of that you have the paranormal side of things and my favorite multiple love interests. Alyssas confusion is so relatable when she feels attracted to more than one person. Then she deals with someone breathing down her neck to see if she will fail. I love her fight that is for sure.
This is a great start to this new trilogy. I love the characters (especially Tiernan, he's such a sweetheart!) and the way they interact with and get to know each other. I think this takes place in the same world as Cohen's other shifter books which I haven't read. It didn't affect my enjoyment of this story at all but I want to go and read those other books too. Can't wait for book 2! You get a nice long sneak peek of it at the end of this one that leaves you hungry for more.
I love this story, but I hate cliffhangers! I also can't believe the author is stringing us along with Alyssa's secret. That being said, I was captivated by the interactions between Alyssa Rafe, Maddox and Tiernan and also with the action and adventure and couldn't put it down. What am I supposed to do til the next story in the series comes? I hate waiting.

This is a wonderful beginning for this series. The characters and storyline are well created. A human and only girl, Alyssa and three shifters all have secrets. They have to learn to work together to complete their missions. How can they with all the emotions going around. I can not wait for the next story.

I saw a Tik Tok for this book that intrigued me. I'm not normally a reverse harem fan but I could see the dilemma. Alyssa doesn't feel like she fits in with her family or community. She is the only female taking part in a program to supposedly teach shifters to work with humans. Discrimination if predominant on both sides, as is sexism. The characters hold your interest and make you want to know more about them.
Started reading Guardian wolf's book 1 and simply could not put it down.. I was hooked it has such a great story with very interesting characters. My weekend was was spent just reading page after page Definitely would recommend to everyone who enjoys a great plot and a strong woman with three extremely handsome courageous males that protect and help her find herself.
Julie, you dit it again. This is a great start to this new trilogy. I like the characters and the way they interact and get to know each other. It is all beautifully described. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, couldn't stop. Can hardly wait for the second book.

I need the next book. I am not okay with that cliffhanger, it was just cruel.
There are still so many secrets, that are not uncovered. Also I need to know what happens to Tiernan? Will Maddox come clean to Alyssa? I have so many unanswered questions.

This was a great series opener and such an interesting story. We do get multiple POVs in this one, and that's quite necessary because each of the main characters have goals, secrets and mysteries to keep us guessing how everything will come together. Of course, this is a serial story so I'm now dying for the next installment. Good fun!
Just to start this off by mentioning that I don't like cliffhangers. This was a great story! It kept me immersed in all the tangled emotions. I can't wait to read the next episode of this saga. A must read, you won't be disappointed.

Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

I really enjoyed reaidng this book, and I really enjoyed that this had a Happy Ever After. The characters were what I wanted and I enjoyed the supernatural elements. The story was well done and I look forward to more from the author.
