4) Eat and drink MORE amazing and overly described food and alcohol with your new RIDE OR DIE 4EAVA friends to celebrate your amazing creations!!!!

5) Play the SUUUUPER SLOOOOW game of "he's/she's JUST a friend, but I can't seem to STOP THINKING about him/her"!!!!!

6) Eat and drink that SUPER AMAZINGLY described food, with your "just friend"!!!!!!

7) Lather, rinse and REPEAT!!!!!!!

...

This was SO BORING. It's sad, as this is going down a star for each book I have read, because the above is kind of the cycle that keeps spinning. The romance is going NOwhere, the invention and business creation is just going SO easily, because EVERYone LERVES the MC h, who is OH SO SWEET and innocent they are all falling over themselves to help her and they are ALL shipping her and the MC H, even though they are like GLACIALLY moving to the thought that MAYBE they are SLIGHTLY more then friends by this point.

Whatever.

I bought the next one in the series, so I'll read it at some point in time, maybe. When I want to feel like spinning my wheels and getting absolutely nowhere fast.

You know what? This was such a disappointment, I'm going with 2 stars. I'm bored to the point of being annoyed and I have the feeling that I've wasted my money and time and I'm bitter about that.

Not recommended honestly. The first one was good, but it has slowly stagnated from volume two onward. It has such promise too. Oh well, on to the next I guess.

It might be because I read all three volumes in succession, but this one was a little less enjoyable compared to the first two volumes just because nothing particularly happens here. In this volume, Dahlia is still working hard with her company. She manages to acquire one valuable employee who can handle the business side for her. She continues making important connections for her business and expanding her repertoire of magical tools. She and Volf make zero progress on their romance but are slowly putting away at creating a magical sword for him. Volf also manages to reconnect with his older brother and manages to gain acclaim in his work with the help of Dahlia and her magical tools.

The slice-of-life portion of this story is about the same but I'm a little frustrated at the complete lack of progress in terms of romance. The main couple is gaining shippers left and right but it seems like the main couple themselves have completely cockblocked themselves. I hope the next volume will have some small iota of progress. I'm not expecting a confession or even a kiss, just a small acknowledgment that there is something other than friendship will do.

Being a chairperson is not an easy task and friends with a noble is also another thing, but it will never stop Dahlia in doing what she loves and creating magical tools because she loves to make it easier for people to use and also easier for those who are saving the kingdom when they are out battling with monsters, especially her friend Volf. However because of her friendship with Volf, lots of girls were either jealous or pestering her to introduce him to them because Volf looks really good looking and had been an eye candy for the girls around but Volf is not interested other than his work.

Volf's brother is worried about him and it felt like it is his fault that he couldn't protect Volf's mother because he was afraid however it haunted in his dreams up till now and told Volf about it and Volf was shocked that both of them are suffering from nightmares of the same and to protect Volf he investigated about Dahlia to make sure she is a save person and not after his brother's money. Awww... such a sweet brother.

Other than that, Ivano quit his job as a merchant so that he can help Dahlia as her right hand man. He will go around for her in getting the stuffs that she needs and also helping her in any way he can and even teaching her how to be a chairwoman and also whatever trouble she face let him know so that he can help.

Everyone also felt that Volf and Dahlia's relationship looks like more than friends because of how close they are but they still tell everyone that they are friends. Can't spoil too much again you have to read to find out.

Can't wait to read the next story.

The extra story adding more characterization to Dahlia's father is probably the most interesting thing to happen in this book, so that helps bring up the score for me - otherwise, this would have been a 2 for how much of a chore it felt to finish the book.

This needed a better balance of slice-of-life and progression. I like reading about Dahlia's toolmaking, but sometimes, the nitty-gritty drags down the energy.

Ivano also needs to retire his "boobs or butts" question - for what's probably a recurring gag, it's gotten stale fast.

Another volume in the life of Dahlia (and Volf). While the continuing magical sword research and travel stove development was good, it really didn't go anywhere. Though having a roaring success with toe socks every volume would get boring quick, so that's okay. I do think there was some good "world building" and side character development though. Never considered the nape of the neck being attractive before, but it does have some great merits when you think about it.

The story continues much like the first two volumes with a bit of product development, some company growing pains and most of the story spend on deepening relation between Dahlia, Volfred and those around them including several side stories for those other characters. Like earlier parts all of it comes with (maybe too much) food and drinks. All in all, a good addition to the slow burn slice-of-life/romance/crafting series.

Hopes and dreams

The characters are becoming even more fleshed out with every volume. Dahli-chan once again vows to become a great tool maker who brings comfort and joy to all who use her products and Volf to become someone who can protect those dear to him. We also get to feel Carlo's pain and his hopes for Dahli-chan in the side story. It really makes you morn his passing anew.

I wasn't expecting the reason behind what happened to Volf's mother so it broke my heart.

Dahlia and Volf need to tone down their drinking. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind reading about them enjoying food, but they drink alcohol way too much. I'm also getting bored with their "just friends"😑. I need things to go faster between them.

Made it this far, and let me tell you: the timid mouse routine got old in volume 2.
Her attitude is terrible. You'd think she would have adjusted by now, at least a little.
There's also the issue of her being TOO successful, and TOO popular, and TOO well-liked.

HARD PASS

Another enjoyable volume. Volf seems to be subconsciously more interested in Dahlia than he would have thought when he confronts an illusion of someone "who he wants to protect the most." I can't wait to see what happens next and will they develop into something more than just friends?

Still good, but I wish they’d explain some more of the mysterious backstories, rather than introducing new ones!

Not as exciting as the other volumes, but still worth reading. More slice of life and inventing pretty practical but unspectacular items. Read this if you like low key slice of life.

I am enjoying the light novel alone with watching the show as part of the anime summer 2024 season.
The interpreter’s notes to each volume are very good and interesting.

As Dahlia's business continues to grow, she's starting to look beyond soap dispensers and towards a miniature camping pot. Volf is always a fan of what she's creating, and she's winning over other craftsmen as well.

This is pretty much the same as the first two books. Dahlia "invents" some common item from here (though it does take skill to put together, but it is kind of funny how stories about "innovators" always manage to be about recreating existing items rather than creating something with the magic that actually exists in their worlds). Dahlia and Volf play the "we're just friends except obviously in love with each other" card, and much food shows up.

Honestly I found Volf's segment more engaging. He's finally able to have an honest conversation with his brother, and a lot of the sordid family history gets revealed. Guido isn't exactly who you might expect from the story thus far, which is a good thing.

I'm not entirely on board with the story or the characters, though. I'm personally disappointed that the series that recognized romance wasn't going to solve all the issues then immediately threw its main characters into a romance.

Dahlia's main business problem is being TOO popular---she's never going to have any issues with her finances, demand is magically always super good, and it feels like the story is massively smoothing out the realities of trying to launch her own small business when that could have been a much more engaging part of the story. I don't need this to become a Business 101 lecture, but I wish she'd either face more realistic business issues or have found a way to be 100% inventor without handling any of the production and sale side herself.

Overall it's basically a low-key slice of life/romance with a lot of food and alcohol. I might keep reading but I don't know that I have enough investment in the characters to cover a plot that hasn't grabbed me much. I rate this book Neutral.
