About the author

Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.

He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.

He is a recipient the Tezuka Award for manga.

This volume was lots of fun, gripping and captivating. I'm fascinated by the ever-growing pile of mysteries in the town of Morioh.
The stands and stand battles are so creative and mind-gamey.
Yasuho is the best, I have a feeling she might challenge Gyro for the title of fave character.

we're back to the fun jojo you just can't put down
- what's happening in that daiya's girl mind?
- yes, the records of steel ball run race! I was hoping the previous part would have a bigger role than a brief mention
- 'm reallyn uncomfortable with the sexualization of daiya considering how young she is
- the ancestor of the higashikata family (the ones holding josuke) was the 2nd place winner in the race and not that memorable of a character honestly, but that joestar connection brought to mind the very end of part 7 and it's making sense now, all of these connections!!

"El árbol genealógico", nombre del tomo y del mejor capítulo de los cuatro que contiene. Me encanta todo el misterio alrededor de la familia Higashikata y sus vínculos con los Kira y los Joestar, casi que parece que Araki la pensó desde un principio en vez de ir improvisando como en otras partes.

The battle against Daiya ends, we get an intermediary chapter to deepen the mystery of Gappy's identity, then two chapters to start a new Stand battle.

The Daiya resolution is one of those weird sorts that happens with some frequency: Josuke is almost totally beaten, until an apparent accident leads to his victory. Just something you have to roll with in this series, I guess.

In this universe, Holly Joestar is the mother of the late Kira rather than any direct Jotaro analog. Makes things a bit different. I accidentally read a spoiler about another relation for this Holly, so we'll see how that goes.

Me fascina como se va construyendo los misterios en esta parte de Jojos, dándonos muchas más preguntas que respuestas, lo cual también genera altas expectativas, pero creo que Araki lo sabrá manejar bien. Josuke es un personaje muy misterioso, del cual no entendemos mucho sobre qué tratará, pero definitivamente es hipnotizante la manera en como vas aprendiendo más y más de este Morioh. Lo del árbol genealógico es una linda referencia, y veremos que tanta implicancia tiene Steel Ball Run con esta nueva parte.

OH SHIT. FAMILY TREE. this is so cool bro. JOHNNY JOESTAR I SEE YOU. I SEE YOUR NAME. AND WE GOT FUCKING GEORGE, ELIZABETH, JOSEPH, HOLLY - UGH. idk why its so nice to see that family again but also weird to think that johnny and kira and related but... I'm excited to see where the fuck this goes. also some COOL ASS STANDS. and we are going to see holly??? yeah the motorcycle stand is cold as hell (another josuke another motorcycle related stand)

Me gusta ver la relación que tiene esta parte con la anterior, a pesar de haberme ya spoileado el arbol genealógico, disfruto saber nuevas cosas.

Gappy no me parece un asombroso protagonista, pero tampoco está mal, Yasuho me parece por el momento una buena aliada, mientras que la familia Higashikata me desespera un poco.

I have to stop comparing this part to Steel Ball Run and be patient, even though the enemy encounters feel less attached to the plot than in Part 7. It's a totally separate part and I need to treat it as such
