Fifty States of Love #4

Christmas in Connecticut

Rate this book
Don’t date your students’ single fathers. It’s an obvious rule. It leads to complications. And it’s a rule I’ve never broken, nor even been tempted to break. I mean, for one thing, I don’t date. Not for lack of trying, but I’m just too damaged. My heart is too broken.

Riley Kerr, however, isn’t my student. She’s in second grade, and she’s the sweetest, most darling young girl I’ve ever met. So when my path begins crossing her father’s, it’s complicated.

Rory Kerr is…handsome. Rough-hewn. Solitary. But such a kind and loving father. And not the father of one of my students. He’s not really off-limits.

Except that of my broken heart. Which he seems to just…effortlessly mend, piece by piece, without even realizing it.

The holidays are approaching, and I usually spend them with my dysfunctional family back in Colorado. It’s not something I look forward to. But they’re all I have, so my Christmases are always spent there, with them.

This year, the blooming something between Rory and me has me wondering… maybe this year I’ll be spending Christmas in Connecticut.

I really really love this story! Emma, Rory and Riley are such beautiful characters! Riley, the child, is such a precocious and smart little cookie..scheming too!
Rory and Emma have plenty of baggage between them and I adore how they talk everything out, how they understand each other deeply and how honest they are with each other!
A beautiful story and the chemistry is hot hot hot!

Well. I liked it.
I love the cover and the title and I loved the people.
Rory and Riley and Emma. Adorable little girl Riley and her super adorable dad!
All very sweet and a bit heartbreaking.
But also... not christmasy at all. Just at the very end! So it's a bit of a wrong title thing for me.
And where was the editor and the proofreader for this book? Asleep on the job? Jeez.
And there was too much redundant bla bla about stuff I just didn't care about! And too much repetition ...mainly about how hot he looked - descriptions of his looks - so many.
But still - in the end it was a sweet and sparky teacher-falls-for-the-single-dad love story. I liked reading it, but I fast-forwarded through a lot of the redundant bla bla ...

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is part of the 50 States of Love series. Each book is a complete standalone and can be read in any order.
Emma is a teacher. She loves her job but she is lonely. Since her divorce she has yet to find anyone she has any kind of chemistry with. That is until she sees Rory. At first she thinks it's just a crush but after they become friends she sees its so much more.
Rory is a single dad to Riley. Her mom disappeared when she was little and Rory has made it his mission to be the best dad his girl could ask for.
I am a sucker for a single dad romance and this one was amazing. Riley was the sweetest girl ever. And I loved how she had a part in getting Rory and Emma together.

I received a free copy of this book from the author.

This story is so cute! I just loved Emma and Rory. Their chemistry is off the chart and phew *fans self* those scenes are too.

She's a teacher. He's a fisherman and a boat mechanic. Rory is also a single, hot, father whose daughter loves Emma to pieces. They both have had relationships that did a number on them so they're not too quick to dive into what's between them. Boy when they do though...*more fanning."

If you're looking for a hot and sweet romance Christmas in Connecticut is definitely a title I'd recommend for you to pick up.

Emma is a first grade teacher. She loves her students. When she notices a big burley, handsome man walking with a precious little girl to her second grade class, she can't seem to stop watching their interaction. Rory is a single father. He and his daughter Riley are new to the area. Little do they know that crossing paths with each other will change their lives. An emotional journey of pain, fear and breaking free, this book will keep you reading till the very end. Jasinda Wilder checks all the boxes in creating what will truly be a best seller. An incredible, addictive, five star plus read.

I absolutely loved this heart-tugging romance!

I loved that through an act of kindness to little Riley, Emma, an elementary school teacher, finally met a man she could trust and depend on. Her justifiable insecurities, (caused by her ex-husband, Trace),
almost derailed Emma's and Rory's relationship, but his daughter, Riley, is determined to make them a family.

I really enjoyed this story and the relationship between Emma's mother, father, and uncle was laugh out loud, fall off the chair shocking!!!!!

Christmas in Connecticut
By Jasinda Wilder
Main Characters: Rory and Emma
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
I loved this story! Emma is an elementary school teacher and Rory is a boat mechanic and fisherman. This is a holiday contemporary romance and art of a 50 state series. While I loved the story, I didn't love Rory's physical attributes, just me personally not liking any type of facial hair on men. I have read about 10 of Jasinda's books and loved them all.

Okay Jasinda you brought it with this one. From the slow sexy burn to the read like no other. Emma and Rory were two halves of the same coin. The honesty and openness from the beginning hit my soul. I was invested from chapter one as the sensual feel was empowering. Add in Riley and her pure heart and want you have everything needed for a holiday read.

Christmas in Connecticut

This is a lovely festive romance from this author. This story follows the characters Emma and Rory, these two characters are just perfect for each other. This is a single parents romance at its best. This story is just so heart warming and sweet but with the added steam it makes the perfect festive read. You are always guaranteed an amazing read from this author and this one does not disappoint one bit.

Real life people brought to life. Traumatic prior relationships and childhood can lead to repetition of mistakes but not for Rory and Emma. They are unable to move on, despite wanting to be happy, their fears get in the way. But an observation of Rory talking to his young daughter in the school hallway at drop off one morning changes everything.

Friendship is forged between Riley and Emma and, ultimately brings Rory and Emma together to forge their own friendship and self-discoveries. Their relationship is a journey to understand, acceptance and realization of what they both want, deserve and can have. Together, they can have it all.

That ending. The finest in HEA’s!! Christmas in Connecticut will definitely warm your heart this holiday season.

This one was very cute! I really loved Emma from the start, loved how she was with her kids and other kids she saw needed a little boost. I especially loved her with Riley and I liked how that friendship grew. I wasn't sure about Rory, he seemed like maybe he was in over his head with Riley, but you could tell he loved her and would do anything for her. Once he started to loosen up and talk to Emma, you realized how much these two had in common. As their own relationship built, they kept talking about what went wrong in past relationships and how it made them view any others to come. This really laid a solid foundation for them to have something real.

I really loved how this one ended, loved how date night turned out to be so much more, but it was perfect for them!

This was a difficult read. Some problems with editing. Page 55 parents are alive and assisting with the care of the child, page 60 both parents are dead. One of which had died when hero was 11. At times there were issues with editing. Page 17 “Does not he like beer?” I do not DNF a book normally but this one hurts my head to much. I am not an author or editor. Heck as proof of my lack of writing skills see this review but the mistakes in this book are frequent.

I have loved several of Jasinda’s work but this one needs to go back into editing.

Emma is a divorced school teacher who moved to Connecticut for a fresh start. She has been there for several years. She sees a child who has caught her attention that isn't in her class. This girl is precious and little did she know she was playing matchmaker. Rory is Riley's sexy father and Riley can't wait to call Emma mom. Rory and Emma finally cave into their feelings. These two are quite steamy between the sheets. I can't wait to see what the state book will be in the series.

I sooooooooo loved this! And it’s not because my daughter is a school teacher…….. I just loved Emma’s character, how kind and nurturing she is and was with Riley. How sweet and helpful she was to Rory and not only cause he was hot but because she wanted to help him. This was such a sweet story of friendship……..a bonding like no other. Exceptional read.

This is the story of fisherman/ marine mechanic Rory Kerr and teacher Emma .Cole, brought together by Rory’s young daughter, Riley. This second chance for both of them turns out to be a first rate romance.
