Fans of mysteries, puzzles, and graphic novels will love this hilariously thrilling YouTube-inspired adventure by PrestonPlayz.
This was moderately entertaining. The art was fine. The story was alright. I'm pretty much over social media influencers feeling they need to write a kids book. There are plenty of people who make books for a living.
PrestonPlayz and his character are both online influencers. In this installment of the series, Preston and his cohorts go to a rundown carnival where they become locked into a haunted house attraction and must solve clues provided by a mirror spirit in order to get out. Several entertaining clues are introduced and the reader is invited to solve the mysteries right along with the characters. While the "locked in a haunted house" scenario has been done many times before, this Scooby-Doo style mystery does offer a few twists to keep the reader interested. Overall, PrestonPlayz: The Mystery of the Super Spooky Secret House is an enjoyable read, filled with bright colors and nonstop action.
I absolutely love watching Preston’s YouTube videos. I loved reading this book very much. The only reason why it’s not a 5 stars is because I think that the book is still too predictable in my opinion.
Rating 2024: 3/5 - I can’t help but think of the saying “out with the old, in with the new” while reading this. I know it’s just a book but like where’s the historical preservation of a 50 year old amusement park? And why does it have to be “Gen Z” themed?!? Tf
I really enjoyed the haunted house scenes the most. I was not expecting the main character to be the author, I thought he would be an original character.
Grumps was my favorite character. Especially when he said, “as a customer or part of the attraction?”
