This is it. The moment I’ve been waiting for. Christmas on Megelle Island is the biggest event of the year, and somehow I've been hired to plan it all: parties, activities, festivals, and the Christmas Eve ball at the palace. So what if I'm a last minute substitute because the old party planner got run over by a reindeer? So what if the King and Queen ask me to also plan their son’s engagement party within six days? So what if the cottage I rented was accidentally double booked and now I have an ancient, brooding vampire breathing down my neck every day? None of that matters. If I succeed, this job will make my career skyrocket…but if I fail to satisfy the King and Queen then I could find myself blacklisted and out of a job.
It's make or break it time. Nothing is going to stand in my way.
Especially not the sharp-tongued, sapphire-eyed Lexington Prescott who smells like lavender and snow. Does he like me? No. Do I like him? Not one bit. Does his scowl give me butterflies? Definitely not. I'm a professional. I can pull this off, I just need to ignore this passion a little bit longer...after all, what could possibly go wrong?
Damn this book cringed me out 😂 Thank god it was short. I love smut but this had no slow burn, cringiest enemy to lover vibes. Very few description to give us an idea of the setting. Angels eating tacos?! Like what was that about ??? It was just bad.
A paranormal holiday romance between mage Carter and vampire royalty Lexington. When Carter shows up to her rented cottage to plan back to back events: the Christmas Ball and the Prince's engagement party she doesn't expect it to be inhabited by a grumpy vampire. With no time for games, they come to a truce: they'll both stay in the cottage but what a surprise when they wake up with a mark indicating that they've found their soulmate. A quick and light read with a paranormal spin for the holidays. This seems like a fun series.
I really struggled to settle on a rating for this one as there were elements I loved and some stuff I found annoying. So I was not expecting the hallmark vibes, which i’m not usually big into in a kindle book but actually this was a great mix of cheesiness and magic. The descriptions were perfect, enough to help me picture the beautiful decorations without over explaining. The characters were a mixed bag for me, the FMC is not my favourite and I found myself siding with Lex most of the time. The side characters were great, I loved Peggy and Ria, and some of the vaunteros were fun. What was with the taco joke? I’m feeling like this is a nod to a joke in another series maybe, it did read like that but was way overdone and became annoying fast. I will definitely be continuing this series next festive season and plan to check out some of the other books in this world in the meantime
Definitely not what I was expecting from a vampire book but definitely what I would expect from a Christmas hallmark movie 😂 I feel like if you combined one of those movies with a paranormal romance, you get this book! Some parts made me giggle, some parts were cheesy but overall I enjoyed it. Definitely a good Christmas read for those wanting something light and easy to read! (Just don’t go into it thinking you’re getting some epic PNR or fantasy lmao know what you’re getting into) ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
3.5- This book is exactly what it presents itself to be. It’s a short sweet fun Christmas modern day paranormal romance. It’s light and fluffy and never touches on anything too sad or too serious. It follows the tropes of grumpy and sunshine and both are workaholics. Perfect for a quick vampire and mage romance Christmas read.
What a gorgeous cover that sets the tone and feeling for this paranormal holiday romance between Carter who is a Mage and Vampire CEO Lex. There is no intrigue or quest plot in this story, but there is a bit of romantic heat, medium level angsty misunderstandings and lots of laughter. The magic performed by Event Planner Carter in this book is absolutely over-the-top amazing, and you will wish she could do all your holiday and party decorating and event planning. As expected from these authors, they do a wonderful job of creating an insta-lust/love Soul Mate connection to explain how Lex and Carter get past their initial fractious relationship from enemies to lovers, so that you believe in their HEA.
It was fun to revisit the worlds and some of the characters from their Night Realm Midnight Mage Trilogy. In addition there are lots of interesting new characters including mages, vampires, shifters, angelic beings, etc. I am really looking forward to some of these quirky new characters getting their own holiday romances as the series continues. Final Rating: 4.5 Stars
In this, the first book of the new series, this excellent author introduces a sourly Vampire CEO, Lexington, and a. perfectionist event planner named Carter.
Lex almost never sets foot on the magical island except in case of emergency. In this case, he is called back by his younger sister, to whom he has been the father figure ever since their father passed, because she is marrying into the Royal family.
As for Carter, she s called in, at the last minute, following the last event planner having been run over by a reindeer. As she is lodged at a cottage bby the Director of the event, she notices the complete lack of organization by the previous planner as well as his lack of tidiness. In addition, this is the time that a Grumpy CEO decides to appear at the cottage.
The book is well written filled with misunderstandings, friends sticking their noses where it doesn't belong and funny situations not appreciated by the main characters. I recommend the book and rate it 5 Stars.
Overall, a good holiday romance with an HEA. I enjoyed the Christmas elements, the magic, and the landscape of this story. What I didn't care for was that neither of the characters seemed to know why liked each other or when they started liking each other. I believe this is okay for one of the characters, but very unlikely for it to be for both. One should've known the time when they knew they first liked the other. Also, the typos! I was shocked at the number of errors in this book. I'm not one to normally dock on a few typos here in there as we all have them, but there were a ton and enough that it was distracting from the story. I'm giving it 3 stars because it did have all the elements of a romance. Once cleaned up I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking for a holiday read.
So this is Carter (female mage) and Lexington (male vampire) in the first of the series. It’s actually a standalone but apparently there are characters in all of the stories so that will be fun! Carter is a party planner extraordinaire and Lex is the CEO of a tech company. Mind you, this is a fantasy world so this tech company supports realms that are not human. Read the Night Realm series to get up to speed LOL.
A little bit of angst but not too much. All is resolved. The description of the parties / ball involved are so clear that I could see it in my mind’s eye. I loved that part of this story…
Minor spelling errors but not horrible. I enjoyed it and am on to the next one…
Oh my stars, this book is so magical. I absolutely love Carter. She is totally my opposite in every way. Carter doesn't forgive or forget easily. She is loyal unless you screw her over, pun intended. You'll understand after you read it. I absolutely love Araqiel's as a tree topper. It was hilarious! The book title was a stroke of genius! The attraction between Lexington and Carter was smokin' . Then there is Lexington. He's your typical uptight, rich, & entitled vampire. He pissed me off till about halfway through the book. And I don't get mad easily, lol. I can't wait for the next book by my two favorite authors!
Bite Me, Santa is an amazing read that will definitely get you in the holiday spirit.
Carter is a witch and is an event planner that is hired for Christmas on Megelle Island. Carter is sassy and a workaholic. Lexington is a brooding vampire that arrives on the island for his sister’s engagement and it is his cabin that Carter is renting. I just loved the banter between these characters and the sassy quips from Carter will have you laughing out loud.
If you want a holiday story with vampires, witches, a little heat and plenty of laughter you should check out this book!
This book wasn't like the adventure books if that is what you're looking for. It was more like a hallmark Christmas movie. It was good though. Spoiler......kind of... I did get frustrated and was yelling at the book lol. How do you not check your email for a week, especially when you own a business? If she did check it and just ignored it completely, especially the next day, then she was just very immature. He has a huge business my word. Things happen. I was SO glad even Ria told her off!!! I think he forgave way too easily lol.
These two amazing authors have given us a fun and exciting story that takes place in the night realm world. It's a great read. Lots of action and never a dull moment. I really loved this book, it took me back to the world I loved and the characters are just flawless. The story flows with ease and I really enjoyed the plot. What a beautiful book that will take you on an amazing journey you'll never want to leave! Wow! Can't wait for more!
Ok, so this was a book I didn’t know that I needed. These two did an amazing job yet again. Absolutely love all the things in this book. I cracked up so much while reading it. I’m not usually one for enemies to lovers, but this was so well done and ended up invested in Carter and Lex’s story. Absolutely loving the Night Realm world and am looking forward to exploring more of it.
Is the best way I can describe this book. The characters inner thoughts and banter between each other had me cracking up! The snow fight was my favorite part. I was a little put out with the blow up over an email but I get it. Miscommunication happens in everyone’s daily life so that made it more realistic. This was my first read for the Night Realm and I look forward to reading the rest!
I feel like maybe I am just too old for this book, but I felt like it could have been written by a high school student. To me, Lex did not feel like he had been around for centuries and was a tech guru. Carter was also a bit unbelievable. I can’t imagine a successful business owner who does not check her email. My biggest issue, as previously stated however, is the immaturity of the language. I also have the second book in this series but I’m having second thoughts about reading it.

Bite Me, Santa (The Night Realm: Christmas Marked Book 1)
Would give 100 stars ✨ if I could…. OMG 😆 !!!!! I just love these two authors writing together - they are my favorite for sure, with every single book. I've read by them I love ❤️❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥❤️… loved Carter and Lex, definitely a dream couple…. I definitely recommend reading this book, now onto the next book !!!!!
Chandelle gives us another excellent Christmas story where the characters entertain us as the story develops to its final happy ending. As in all her books you quickly become entranced and feel you really know the individual characters, their hopes and disappointments have an influence on how the story develops for you . A Great Read, Well Done.
This was a bookclub pick and I usually hate books about vampires but this one was a nice short read. And it was so cheesy in a way that it was like watching a Hallmark Christmas movie to get me into the Christmas spirit. It was very funny with witty comments and scenarios. Lots of different creatures and just interesting.
Carter was a very work orientated MC, she wasn't very likeable throughout the book but I did enjoy her sarcasm towards Lex. I loved Lex he was hilarious, especially with putting up with Carter's antiques. The other characters really just didn't help things which added to the comedy aspect.
To say the book is short, the chapters are so long and these kind of dragged on which was a let down for me. I don't like long chapters in general so this is a me thing. And I kind of got confused on character names.
Either way, this was an excellent read for the holidays!
Dnf at 41% I didn’t like the FMC She was really immature and moody The magic system didn’t seem to make sense and there was editing issues (typos) and the change from past tense with present tense scattered through didn’t work imo I did like the set up and some concepts but just wasn’t for me too much I didn’t like
Loved it, can see the whole island … the characters are so fleshed out, once I finished … I kept trying to get more. I cannot wait to read the next one … I need more. Get this, so good. If you’d love these authors, you’ll love this one too!
I enjoyed this book so much. Lex and Carter are such fun characters, the push and pull was great. Loved that it was a Christmas spinoff of in the Nightrealm. I really can't wait for more from these authors. Highly recommend reading.
This was amazing read.mit 2as recommended by a friend. And so glad she did I love the whole tattoos that show up when you meet your soul mate. But man the things Carter does to let was crazy. Like turning him into Santa.lol it was so good.
This is a light, romantic, funny “x-mas” story. The settings are incredible, the characters are lovely, a perfect reading for this time of the year after a very harsh one. Enjoy yourself and let the magic guide you through it.
I really liked the book in general it was cute and fun which is what I was looking for but it lost points because I absolutely HATE the bad communication trope where that was the cause of all their problems
Carter is a mage, and parties are her specialty. She is asked to do Lex's sister Lisa's engagement party. They meet at his island residence, when his Mom gave his cottage to her while she was working on the parties. It turns out they are soulmates.
Lex is a vampire and Carter is a party planner extraordinaire. They hate each other to start with then find out they are soulmates. I absolutely loved this book. The characters. The dialogue. Will definitely read more from these authors.
