A cute book. A book one and all can read to infants. I will admit that it does get a bit confusing but infants and toddlers won't care. This is a basically a picture book that shows what walks on legs and what moves on wheels. Good illustrations will keep the little ones amused although things can get muddled when you have walks on wheels. Whatever, it is good fun and just another good book from Tundra!

This is a simple, fun book that will be a great hit with toddlers! Farmer lives with an assortment of animals with a penchant for wheels. They're eager to go off on an adventure, but Farmer doesn't want to be left behind!

The text here is wonderfully lively and phrased in "toddler speak" so little ones can follow the story and repeat familiar refrains. The youngest readers will love the silly animals and all the various kinds of wheels they find. The illustrations are adorable with lots of cute details. This one could get positively worn out among the 2-year-old set!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a delightful story about an adorable group of farm animals who discover what does and does not have wheels. It is a perfect read for that targeted age-group. It is a fun pick for a read aloud.

A lama has no wheels.
A turtle has no wheels.
A cat has no wheels. BUT...

A skateboard, a tractor, and a bike do!

The animals decide to give the wheel objects a go. They zoom off and the farmer tries to hinder their adventure but she has no wheels to catch up and stop them. Oh my! The farmer discovers an ox pulling a cart with wheels. She climbs aboard and the race to catch the animals and bring them safely back to the farm is on. BUT...

"Vrooming, zooming, never stopping.
Up ahead a zebra crossing.
Hit the breaks! OH NO!

CRASH!

Now nobody has wheels. Fortunately a truck driving chicken pulls up with wheels and it's rescue time for all! Hurray!

This silly story will gets kids giggling and the illustrations are wonderful. They are full of activity, expression and fun! The story includes lots of repetition that will have kids interacting to help the read aloud along. I highly recommend the book.

Wheels, No Wheels is a cute book that preschool age children should enjoy as a real aloud. The story tells about farm animals who do not have wheels who take some items that have wheels (bike, tractor, skateboard) out for a joyride. The farmer sees the animals head out and begins following the animals. The farmer takes an ox with a cart to chases after the animals. The animals are having a great time, bit unfortunately they are unable to stop before crashing into some animals walking in the crosswalk. There is a big crash and now everyone has lost their wheels. Fortunately for everyone, chicken rolls up in a farm truck and everyone has wheels again.
This is a story that young children should enjoy hearing about and will probably laugh at the the silly animals and their hijinks. There is a lot of repetition, so students will be able to help “read aloud.” The illustrations will encourage conversation as the story is read aloud.

Wheels, No Wheels by Shannon McNeill is a silly-nonsense book that I would have easily incorporated into my pre-k transportation unit lesson plans. Starts with a very simple breakdown of things like "A tractor has wheels. A llama has no wheels." and quickly devolves into the chaos that would occur if llama - and all the other farm animals - suddenly decided that they'd LIKE to have wheels. The illustrations do the heavy lifting here - watching the farmer girl trudge after all the wheeled animals on her slow little feet requires the grumpiness of her facial expressions to move this story along. It's fast book, probably purposefully, but watching them all clamber into a van driven by a chicken at the end is a pretty good payoff. 3 Stars

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read Wheels, No Wheels to our preschool group and get a chance to write a review. This book is excellent for very young children. The art is exceptional and interesting. The story kept the children interested and entertained as we read through it many times. Wheels, No Wheels is a book I will recommend as our 2-3 year old children loved it.

A cheeky book with repetitive text is excellent for children learning to read. I love that the contrast between having or not having wheels was extended to introduce figure of speech to young children.

** Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review. **

What a fun book! Do llamas have wheels? Of course not! Unless... they drive a tractor! The farm animals go on a grand adventure with the farmer in pursuit.
This would make a wonderful read-aloud in story time and any of Cronin's "Duck" books would make a good companion book. Or Shannon's Duck on a Bike.

This was an interesting book depicting what has wheels and what doesn't. I think small children will enjoy this book and it will be easy to memorize so they will feel like they are reading it.

The illustrations were bright, colorful, and entertaining.

Thanks to Netgalley and Tundra Books for a free digital copy.

A funny little story about who does and does not have wheels and what the consequences are if that gets mixed up. I thought it was fun and will produce many giggles. Very rereadable.

This book starts off simple with what has wheels and what does not, but then it goes off the rails (or wheels!) when all the animals hop on the things with wheels. This cute book is full of animal hijinks, wheels galore, and just plain fun. Great for any animal or transportation lover.

So funny, would be cute for storytimes. The author humorously lays out things that do and don't have wheels, and then the animals all get into trouble riding around on wheeled vehicles/objects. Playful and cute.

While not the most exciting thing I have ever read, you can make this one work for story time by amping up the silly factor and impersonating Oprah, "YOU HAVE WHEELS! AND YOU HAVE WHEELS! YOU ALL HAVE WHEELS!" A cute, quick read--great for a tractor or farm themed story time.

How did I miss this one? It was published two years ago which means I have done a few Farm storytimes and a few Transportation storytimes without even knowing about this title!? Never again.
