the invisible goddess

Rate this book
From behind the scenes, Hestia, Goddess of Hearth and Home, runs the court on Mt. Olympus—invisible, unknown, and just the way she likes it. When Erebus, the primordial God of Darkness, interrupts her mundane existence, Hestia’s head and heart spin as she is thrust into the spotlight. Two powerful and dangerous gods ask for her hand, leaving Hestia with a choice that threatens to divide the gods and plunge the world into war. Can she keep balance on Olympus without losing her chance at happiness?
The Invisible Goddess gives Hestia a chance to live life out of the shadows in a mythological retelling. Find out if she can embrace her power and preserve peace in the land--and her heart.

So, that's the official bio...
Really, I'm a lover of chocolate, a strong jaw line with a 5 o'clock shadow, and romances that make your heart pound and your middle get all squishy. I love quiet country living on my north Georgia farm with my family and fur babies of all shapes and sizes. I think the scariest thing in life is how fast my daughter is growing and an empty coffee pot. I can't stand slow drivers in the fast lane and wimpy handshakes.
I have endless stories rumbling around among the rocks in my head. I can't wait to share them with you!

A mythological must read!

When the Goddess of hearth and home becomes the object of interest between both Poseidon and Apollo, Hestia must choose who will be the one who claims her heart. Poseidon, King of the seas, offers her power she’s never imagined, while Apollo, the poet prince will write her name in the stars. But Hestia knows that the God of darkness and shadows, Erebus, has arranged this game to cause discord amongst the gods of Olympus. Is her time in the limelight worth a war that will spill onto the human realm? A magnificent retelling of the Goddess Hestia’s story

I read this to listen to a podcast discussion. It’s different than a lot of the retellings I’ve read recently… because it’s chaste. A lovely story with great points but not what I wanted/expected.

Really flat, 90% expository. Nothing to speak of in the way of character development. Not sure why I finished. Reviewers on SBTB podcast loved it, so...

This was a delightful little novella. I especially loved Hestia's friendships (they were with all the gods and goddesses who were my favorites when I was a kid), and I found the ending fulfilling. (I disagree with the review that says it is not a HEA—um, they're together every night in a way that seems to make them both happy?)

This was okay. Definitely not up to the level of banging I’ve come to expect from KU books. Almost cruel in that we were teased with a shadow god and a satyr.

I'm glad that Erebus also gets a mini arc in this short novella, otherwise I think I would've enjoyed this less, but I love seeing characters like Hestia come into their power.

The most under rated and under appreciated Goddess of Olympus gets her consort at last.

One of my secret love in books is the Gods of Olympus. Their bickering and antics trying to one up each other. This was about Hestia Goddess of heath. Although this was a short read it left me wanting more for the goddess and the characters.
