Following the examples of independent comic creators such as Dave Sim and Jeff Smith, he decided to publish Strangers in Paradise himself through his own Houston-based "Abstract Studios" imprint, and has frequently mentioned a desire to do a syndicated cartoon strip in the authors notes at the back of the Strangers in Paradise collection books. He has also mentioned his greatest career influence is Peanuts' Charles Schulz.[1] Some of Moore's strip work can additionally be found in his Paradise, Too! publications.

His work has won him recognition in the comics industry, including receiving the Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story in 1996 for Strangers in Paradise #1-8, which was collected in the trade paperback "I Dream of You".

It was announced on June 15th, 2007 that Moore would be taking over for Sean McKeever as writer of Marvel Comics's Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane series starting with a new issue #1. On July 27th, Marvel announced that Moore would also take over for Joss Whedon as writer of Marvel's Runaways.[2]

On November 19th, 2007 Terry Moore announced in his blog that his new self-published series would be named Echo and its first issue would appear on March 5th, 2008.[3]

I have actually read 1-9 in singles but this is the only way I can track it for now. Zoe is my favourite character so naturally, I loved this. Can’t wait for the final issue to arrive!

My first contact with Terry Moore's work and it sure won't be my last. The guy is amazing at visual storytelling, juxtaposing his beautiful art in a clever manner he provokes this evocative feeling to the scenes he portrays, cool stuff. Thematically, though, it might not be a story for everyone for its depiction of violence and the sexual abuse motif. Little girl investigating crimes and killing pedophiles could be a cathartic revenge tale for itself, but Moore goes beyond that presenting delicately the daily life of a female psychopath on a killing spree. (I've been interested in reading something like that ever since I watched David Slade's Hard Candy, there's an inherent appel to stories about the prey hunting the predator). Moore's pacing is excellent blending horror, dark humor and some heavy emotional punches, it's a pretty quick read too. Can't wait to read more of him.

Rachel Rising is one of my favorite comics ever, so I was very thrilled to be able to go back to one of its most attractive characters. In this volume, Terry Moore does what he does best: creating a tense atmosphere and filling it with flawed and twisted characters that weave an original and intriguing plot. As usual, his artwork is top-class. The dialogs are often brief and sharp and contribute to the coldness of the storytelling.

Simply put, this is a book perfect for anyone who has enjoyed Terry Moore's work in the past. Particularly, it's a must for anyone who liked Rachel Rising. I guess these issues could be read without knowing Rachel Rising, but I cannot deny that Moore could have done a bit better work at giving readers a bit of context about who Zoe is and what she did in the past. In any case, great reading.

The last Terry Moore work left me underwhelmed, but the one character that always stood out was Zoe... the breakout star of Rachel Rising. And this book is based aroun her. That's gotta be good... right?

You bet it is!

Zoe is no longer posessed by a demon, but she is still an old woman in a child's body... and someone... a serial killer... has just murdered one of the few people she called a friend. This is more of a psychological thriller, and is all the better for it. No demon... but Zoe is still someone I would not like to mess with.

This is back to top-notch Moore, and I'm glad that XXV is just a blip. I just hope the second half is as good.

Terry Moore is great at visual storytelling but the story ends up really flat. The serial killer herself is the only interesting character in this book, and I wish the story were only from her point of view, but we end up following a bland character called Zoe that doesn't age for some reason.

By the end I realized how much I don't care about anything that happens here. Everything just feels underbaked.

Zoe, the eternal demon child from Rachel Rising gets her own comic. A friend of hers is murdered sending her on the path of a female serial killer. Do not read this until you've read Rachel Rising or you'll have no idea what Zoe's deal is. There are some scenes of graphic violence so be forewarned.

Art is great as usual and the story makes more sense than some of his interconnected stories lately. Revenge, hunting a killer, bad people doing bad things, beautiful art.

I guess some of these characters started out in other books. I didn't connect so much to it.

When I saw Terry Moore talking about his new series about a pre-teen serial killer on twitter I figured he'd lost it as a creator. I haven't entirely kept up with his work since Strangers In Paradise ended (a comic series that helped shape my youth, my art, and my internal narrative) and I thought it was sad to see such a talented creator go so far down hill. Then I saw the Terry Moore Humble Bundle and for $30 scored just about everything he'd made in multiple series to day and got caught up. Rachel Rising got me hooked and the ending was so abrupt I was relieved to see more of *some*of its story here.

And gosh, it's worth the read. How does Terry Moore manage to make such a bizarre topic so... human and engaging, so painful and funny?

Zoe begins the hunt for a serial killer that targets married couples…

What I liked -
Zoe was a creepy joy in Rachel Rising and having her own series is great. She’s fully capable and after having a demon residing in her for the better part of 50 years she knows a thing or two about murder. The comedy is mixed wonderfully with the more horrific aspects and Moore continues to strike up an excellent balance of genres.

What I disliked -
Moore moves the story along with a ‘look don’t tell’ approach and whilst I appreciate that the story is a little light on dialogue. This isn’t a huge issue but knowing characters motivations would add some depth.

I think not being aware of the character from other series put me a bit on the back foot as didn’t have a clue what was going on in bits. Violent and on the knuckle
