Walking down the street and watching people go about their day-to-day life, but thinking strange, even dangerous things.
I still clearly remember the day I stood at the traffic lights in downtown Melbourne. There she was, sitting in her car, waiting for the lights to change green. Tapping her fingers impatiently.
Something inside my head went off. Kaboom! An idea formed, and became the beginning of a novel.
Instead of sitting patiently at the lights, she was nervous, extremely anxious as she was being pursued by killers. The next thing she knew, an angry, crazy man was slamming her windscreen with a sledgehammer and she was running for her life.
Yes, the life of a writer is quite unique.

A fairly sweet"romance" of a sort.
I decided to hide my thoughts because they gave too much of the book away. I guess I just needed to vent. I’d love to see this brief story slightly rewritten, but a lot of reviewers loved it, so I guess I’m in the minority.

A Bride For Noah is the first book in the Brides of Broken Arrow series by Cheryl Wright. This is my first read from Ms. Wright, so I was keen to see what she could do with a story. I am happy to say that I enjoyed this sweet historical romance and feel it has set the series off to a great start.
Noah is left reeling when he discovers that the land he thought he owned could be forfeited if he didn’t marry within the month. One big problem- the lack of available women in his area. He needs a ‘wife’ asap- what will he do?? The solution to his problems comes in the form of Mary Stanton, who just happens to need a solution to her pressing problems. An arrangement might be exactly what these two need to get out of their sticky situations. But what happens if feeling become involved? You really should read all the interesting details for yourself if you want to know what happens in this wholesome, cute story.
This is quite a heartwarming story. The characters are fully developed and endearing individuals- I couldn’t help but connect with them and their sweet story. I really liked Noah and Mary, and I especially felt for Mary and what she had been through.
Perfect for readers who prefer their romance with a ‘clean’ and wholesome plot.
A marriage of convenience and finding love unexpectedly…
Happy Reading!

After the death of his father, Noah believes that the large piece of land will be legally his on his birthday. In order for that to happen he must marry within a month or lose the land.
Mary Stanton has no money and jumps at the chance of marriage if it means escape.
This becomes a marriage of convenience but will the two find love?
I usually don’t read historical romances much but the plot caught my attention. It was a heartwarming story and I was hoping that Mary and Noah could make it work.
I noticed there were a novels in this series and if this are just as heartwarming as this, I look forward to reading them.

How sweet is this book?! A Bride For Noah is a wonderful, quick read. You can’t help but smile while reading this heart-warming tale of two people that enter into a marriage of convenience and end up finding much more. I absolutely adore romance books set in this time period. I love the simpler times although they definitely worked harder then. If you love pure, wholesome romance then this is your book. Cheryl Wright proves that you can write an engaging romance without the sexual innuendo. I loved the interaction between Noah and Mary and found myself drawn in and experiencing their frustration at their miscommunications. It was wonderful watching these two find all that they deserved with each other. The clean, happy ending left me happy and satisfied.

Since the young age of 21, Noah has been working the land that his father gifted to him on his birthday. When his father suddenly passes away Noah learns that there are conditions that come with this gift of the land. He is horrified to discover that he has mere weeks to not only find a woman but marry her or the land will be given to his brother instead. Noah is mortified and is justifiably angry at his father's actions. He can't believe his father has done this to him. There are no women available where he lives, so how does his father expect him to suddenly get married?
Mary is a young woman living with her father. Mary has been doing her best to make ends meet and to feed her and her father on the meager income that he is able to bring in from his pig farming. Unfortunately, the money seems to be few and far between and he has more love for his pigs than he does for his own daughter. Mary makes the best of the situation, and she stretches the meals and goes without eating so her father can eat instead. Then suddenly her father comes to her and tells her that he has planned for her to be married to a most horrific man that Mary had an unfortunate incident with in the past. A man that Mary does not want to be with and who will not treat her well. So, when Mary is approached by a member of her church and offered a chance at a proxy marriage to a man she does not know and has never met she figures this might be the best chance that she has of getting out of the horrible situation that she is currently in.
When Mary and Noah meet, they go into a marriage of convenience. Neither expects anything else out of the other. Noah only expects to keep his land. Mary only expects to make it through the marriage for the term that the contract stimulated and start over new afterwards. What neither expected was to start having feelings for the other which leads to confusion. Neither Noah nor Mary seem willing to broach the subject or talk to the other about their feelings for fear of rejection. What will become of Mary and Noah? Will they discover that they are better off without each other? Will they fall in love?
The characters of Noah and Mary were wholesome, down-to-earth, and hard-working. Mary made the best of any situation that she was put into and only wanted to make those around her happy. She was strong-willed and hard-working with a heart of gold. It was heart-wrenching to know how poorly Mary had been treated by her father and how much she had missed out on in life. Noah wanted to do everything he could to give Mary a better life. He was a hard worker and cared deeply about his family and those he loved. This book was a wholesome read full of love, and the support of family. It was full of wholesome scenes, strong morals, and wonderful characters.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I’m starting to love historical romance so I thought I would give this book a chance. I’m so happy that I did because I fell in love with all of the characters. This is the first book of the Brides of Broken Arrow and I am now hooked. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to read book number two.
Noah’s dad leaves his land to his sons but there is a stipulation in order to keep it. They all have to find a bride and Noah is the oldest so he has to find a bride first. Noah has no idea how to even find a bride until one of his friends tells him about a beautiful girl named Mary. He tells his friend he will do it so he can get the land. Noah picks up Mary and you can see that she has had a hard life. He just wants to stay married for only one year which is what his dad said but will he become attached to Mary?

I debated on reading A Bride for Noah for a couple days, before finally downloading it. I am glad I chose to read it, because I really enjoyed it. The summary of the story caught my attention, but the cover art made it seem like it would be really old fashioned. While the story did take place in an earlier time, it didn't feel like an old western. I look forward to reading more in the series, as I assume they are going to be about Noah's brothers. This book is the story of 2 young people forced into a marriage of convenience. Noah's father passed away and made it a condition in his will that Noah must marry to keep his land. Mary is stuck between a rock and a hard place, and chooses to marry a complete stranger, rather than the man of her father's choosing. I was very happy with the ending, because for a while, I didn't know which direction the story would go. I don't want to give anything away, but recommend this book. Its super short, but has a lot of content.

This is a new author to me and I so enjoyed this story of Noah and Mary. Both Noah and Mary were brought together over chance taken, especially for Noah or he could lose the land that was promised by his father upon his passing. When Mary is approached by a proxy marriage, she takes the chance and ends up at Broken Arrow Ranch. My heart just truly ached for Mary, the way she grew up and the pain she endured living with her father. I am so happy she jumped at the chance and hope for a better life in this story. Will Mary and Noah find that there is love for each other at then end of their "contract".
This book just makes you feel good at the possibility of love, hope and a chance for something better. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Mary’s home life is dismal, her father has just informed her she is to marry a horrid man. She is resigned to her fate. Noah is a rancher that has just been informed the land he has been working for years believing it was his will now only become so if he marries, in the next month. Since there were no local choices his lawyer suggests a proxy marriage for a year to fulfill the requirements of his father’s will. Mary is approached after church with the proposition of accepting the marriage for the year. She jumps at the chance to avoid her father’s choice. When Mary arrives Noah is surprised by her reactions making him realize her life has been much harder than he originally believed. While there is attraction between the two Mary assumes Noah would never want her and decides to enjoy the improvements in her life until her year is up. Noah believe Mary is not interested behaves like a gentleman. Throughout this Novella the lack of serious communication between the two leaves each making assumptions. Will Mary and Noah realize that they could have a true marriage before its too late or only have a marriage of convenience?
I really enjoyed this story. It was an enjoyable quick read that still succeeded in the characters having a depth that makes it easy to imagine them as real people. I would suggest giving this book a read. I am looking forward to reading Noah’s brothers’ stories as well.

This story was so beautifully written. The characters really made it come to life. I loved how the characters and how connectible they were, I found it was a story that made your heart tender and happy. I smiled a lot as I read trough, and really enjoyed everything I was able to take in.
Mary and Noah were two of a kind, literally. Both different and both so very much alike. I loved reading about them, and watching them basically fall in love. The things they took pride in really shad a shine to them who they were! I loved the simplicity of story and the romance between these two. It was captivating and sweet both at the same time. I loved the way the author created such a sweet story, it was a wonderful read, and I will for sure be looking into more books by this author!
Wonderful, sweet, and beautiful read. It was a quick read for me, but the feelings were very real as well. I was very much entranced by this book and constantly wondered how it would all play out. I was very happy when I concluded it. High recommendation from me for the author and the wonderful book!

Noah always thought that the land his father gifted to him for his birthday was his, but when his father dies he finds out that there are conditions he must follow or he will lose it all. He must marry someone within a month and he has no idea where to start. Working his land has been his life and he was never worried about finding someone. With few choices within his grasp he must improvise. Mary is in a very hard spot. She is barely surviving and slowly starving to death. Her father has decided that he can no longer support her and promises her hand to man she not only hates but frankly is scared of who he has probably become based on his past. When she gets a crazy request of a proxy marriage to a stranger she doesn't even think about it. To escape her father's arrangement she agrees without a look back. Can Noah and Mary turn this marriage of convenience into a real marriage? Will her father fight the proxy marriage so she can marry his choice instead? Will Mary stay the full year of the contract or end it sooner? This book can make you feel many emotions. Anger at some characters, happy here and there throughout, sad throughout, and much more. Such a great book. I can't wait to read the others in the series.

This is the first book in a new series by an author that is new to me. In the last year I’ve become a fan of historical romance which I never really read before and I liked the look of this book when I read the blurb. I’m glad that I went with my instincts as I really enjoyed Noah’s story.
Although this book is a novella at just over 100 pages, the author does a great job of packing plenty into this novella. I really could have read so much more about Noah and Mary.
This is a sweet, wholesome, clean romance. At most you get some hand holding and kissing. As someone who also enjoys reading erotica, it’s a nice change to read something so sweet. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy, in a nice way.
Noah and Mary are both really great characters. Noah is forced into marriage as a result of his father’s will and Mary is escaping a very poor life with her father who wants her to marry a man she really does not want to be married to. Mary jumps at the chance to spend a year with the lovely Noah and then can walk away from the lovely Noah. But does she want to leave after her year is over? Does Noah want her to leave? Read this great novella to find out. It’s well worth the read.

Noah is furious when he learns that his father has placed conditions on his inheritance, but reluctantly agrees to marry a woman known through mutual friends, Mary Stanton. They create a one-year contract for marriage, wherein Mary will be his wife and then leave with a stipend after 12 months. For Mary, it becomes a boon of huge importance. At her father's home, she was nearly destitute, uncared for, and without any options for a happy life. Coming to Broken Arrow farm feels like opulence - running water, stocked pantries, and a kind man to care for. As they go about their lives and start to learn about each other, they each start to wonder if perhaps they could love each other as a true man and wife.
Mary and Noah are both sweet characters, realistic and likeable. I enjoyed reading about their romance, and felt engaged in the novel. A Bride for Noah is well written, easy to read, and a nice feel-good story for romance lovers.

A Bride for Noah (Brides of Broken Arrow) by Cheryl Wright
A Bride for Noah is the first book in the Brides of Broken Arrow Series. I’m a huge fan of Historical Romance and I pretty much devoured this in one sitting. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m looking forward to seeing what other books she has written. Noah and Mary meet after he learns the land he was gifted from his father had certain conditions that he had to meet before the land would be his. Mary found herself in a situation she didn’t like so she took off and found herself answering an ad for mail order bride. These two meet and there is definitely some chemistry between them. What will Mary do once the contract is up? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I loved this book so much! This story takes place in Halliwell, Montana in 1880. Noah Adams’ father has died, and his will dictates that Noah must marry. If Noah doesn’t marry, he will lose his home and his land. In Angel’s Pass, life is just as desperate for Mary Stanton. She is slowly starving to death while caring for her father. Her prospects are bleak until her friend tells her of Noah’s need for a wife. She is just desperate enough to agree to marry him sight unseen. Noah assures her that the marriage will be in name only, and she can leave after a year. Will Noah and Mary learn to live with each other and maybe even love each other? Find out in this sweet and charming love story. It is a quick little read that is certain to make you smile!

This was one cute little romantic novella if I’ve ever read one! The fact that it was wholesome was a very nice change up from the romance I have been reading as of late and didn’t make me feel like I was missing out on their connection, either! Noah was ultimately the farmer in shining... straw? Poor Mary never knew what love felt like and had had a rough go until their arrangement was brought to her attention, and that’s when her life became better than she ever thought possible. It was adorable, heart-warming, and truth be told, kept a smile on my face this morning as I read it with my morning coffee and outdoor shenanigans. I look forward to reading more about Noah’s brothers Seth, and Jacob, and thoroughly enjoyed the authors writing style and world and character building. Cheers for love when you least expect it!

A Bride for Noah (Brides of Broken Arrow) by Cheryl Wright. This is such a good novella. Its so pure and innocent. Its about Noah who has worked his whole life on his farm and has finally gotten it to where he wants it. So when his dad passes away he assumes it will all be his but little does he know it comes with a catch. His dad has set it up to where Noah has to marry within three weeks of his death and Noah has no women in sight. Enter Mary who has lived with her dad her whole life and he has never shown her any affection. Her dad finally gets tired of her and gives her away to be married to a brute. She ends up escaping barely and her neighbor tells her about marriages to strangers to help each other out. When Mary gets an offer she jumps at the chance to leave. As Mary and Noah get to know each other they may end up falling in love after all. Such a sweet read!

This book is possibly one of the best romance novellas that I have read in a long time. This short historical romance was full of surprises including family, love, and lots of emotions. While this was a short read it was amazing, full of brilliant writing, fantastic character, and a terrific plot, I just simply couldn’t put it down. When Noah finds out that he has to marry to get his inheritance, he freaks out what on earth will he do? Mary has been living with her father trying to take care of him and survive on scraps, when he drops the bomb on her that she must marry a man that she can’t stand. What will she do when she hears of Noah’s situation? Will the two of them find a way to make it work for both of them? Or are they both stuck with their terrible fates? You’ll have to read this amazing novella for yourself to find out.

I really enjoyed this short historical romance read. I fell in love with the characters straight away- they were both just the sweetest. This is the first book that I have read from this series and I absolutely would love to read more. The author’s writing was really engaging and easy to read. I really felt for Mary, so innocent but also having been through everything in her childhood she had a good amount of strength about her and was willing to try and do things on her own. And I’m pretty sure I’m 100% in love with Noah! The way he was with Mary was so sweet at times although there was a part where I was just like oh please just kiss her!
Lovely read and one that I would highly recommend!

Sometime you pick up a book and as you start reading you just disappear into it and everything about it just draws you in …. This was one of those special little gifts ❣️📕
I think living and working on a farm myself I really identified with Noah and Mary .
Noah found himself in a predicament after his dad passed and our Mary needed rescuing from her father’s clutches and what could’ve been a life of misery being married off to a cruel man so the arrangement between our friends sounds ideal but o don’t think either banked on loosing their hearts to each other 🥰
Noah and Mary climbed deep into my heart and they will always have a special place there ❣️

I really enjoyed this sweet historical romance. The author did an amazing job of transporting the reader back to a time of real romance. I loved the characters if Noah and Mary and how they both want the same thing but are too scared to tell each other.
Noah needs a bride. As part of his fathers will he needs to marry in order to inherit his land.
Mary is living in poverty and her father wants her to marry a man who is nothing but trouble. So when she is told about a gentleman who is looking for a wife she jumps at the chance.
What follows is a story of their love and how it blossoms. What starts out as a marriage of convenience for them both turns into a love story beautiful and romantic, full of emotion and feeling.

I enjoyed this shorter historical romance story. It is a story that pulled me in from the first word. It is a well written story about a marriage of convenience. Noah was gifted some land that he thought was his until he learned about the condition. This is where he and Mary enter into a contract to marry to satisfy the condition. But what will happen at the end of their contract? Will Mary stay or walk away? I enjoyed what they brought to the story and how they kept me coming back for more. It is a fast paced story that is not only engaging but hard to put down. I enjoyed the chemistry between Mary and Noah as well as their growth throughout the story. This is an entertaining, easy story to read and just a great story overall. I highly recommend this book.

Such as sweet book! Noah seems like a wonderful man, it sucked to see that his land was taken away by his father unless he got married. On the other hand it was a great idea to give him his land after he gets married, it was a way for his dad to ensure a happy future for his child. Mary, such a sweetheart, I was so sad to see how she was treated by her father, and how selfless she was. When her and Noah finally get to meet my heart broke along with his learning how Mary grew up. They are super sweet together and it was really nice to see a religious element in their relationship. I can’t wait to see which brother is up next!

Noah is beside himself when he discovers his father has changed his will and has taken away the family farm that had been gifted to him. Noah has spent years working this farm to make it what it is today. The only thing keeping it from him now, he has to get married in the next three weeks or the farm goes to his older brother, Jacob. Where does he even begin to look for a wife?
Mary is living a lonely life with a father who barely acknowledges her existence. When a neighbor women presents her with the prospect of becoming a proxy wife to a stranger so he can keep his family farm, Mary jumps at the chance to leave. But what is she really getting into? This is a very quick, romantic read and I highly recommend it.

A Bride for Noah by Cheryl Wright is a great start to the new series, Brides of Broken Arrow. I adored Noah and Mary together. I thought their story was beautiful and one that should not be missed.
A Bride for Noah gets a five plus stars from me. I can not wait to read the next installment from the Brides of Broken Arrow series to see what happens following this one. I highly recommend this one for readers who enjoy clean and sweet historical romance.
I received A Bride for Noah from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

*** 3 out of 5 stars
If losing his father suddenly wasn’t enough, Noah is now under a deadline according to the conditions of the will to find himself a bride. Not too far away, Mary is barely surviving each day and sees the offer of this “convenience marriage” to be her only way out of poverty. Will Noah and Mary find love in their contractual time together or walk away at the end of the year?
As the author herself promises, this is nothing but a feel-good short historical fiction story.
The overall story and theme were just as promised, with the character Noah and the depth of Mary’s life history being the main highlights. With that said, I didn’t feel I could rate the tale any higher due to some hiccups. For example, because there was so much depth to Mary, there seemed to be extraneous details that could have been further developed. Additionally, while time obviously seems to pass, each section broke up the story’s flow without a clear idea of just how much time it had been. Overall, I believe this short story would’ve been better drawn out but, understandably, that would have been a hard balance with the feel-good promise.
A Bride for Noah was an enjoyable and quick read. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and needs a quick read between longer novels.

There are books where the story line is something you have already read about, but how it is presented makes a lot of difference. This is a historic romance, about the marriage of convenience, something which is often witnessed in historic dramas, but what makes this book interesting are the characters and the way the book is presented.
Noah is given a vast promise of land, but with one condition, he has to marry with in few weeks, otherwise he has to forfeit all his fortune. Mary is in neck deep trouble with her father who cares only about his pigs and is willing to give away his daughter to the first man knocking on the door. So, when a church suggests their alliance, both Mary and Noah readily agree to a marriage of convenience. Atleast Mary is with a mindset that she will annul the marriage once the contract period is over.
But when it comes to the heart, it is a completely different matter altogether. Will these two end their marriage and go their own ways , or their hearts have something to say? That is the plot of the story.
If you are looking for a nice smooth romance read in the season of love, this is a book to read. A refreshing romance with an endearing lead pair. I enjoyed it.

Happily Ever After or Not?
I loved this book. It is a really quick read. Mary lived with her father. He was an uncaring man who only wanted her around to cook for him. He spent most of his time drunk and tried to give Mary to another drunkard to use as payment for a debt. Mary decided to get out of there when he was off on a drunken spree. She took with her the rags that served as her clothing, the scraps of food in the house, and answered a mail order bride advertisement.
Noah needed to marry for at least one year to get his inheritance. He answered Mary's letter and told her to come. On her ride out to join him, she had only the few scraps of leftover food. These did not last the entire trip. She arrived really hungry and when Noah asked if she would like to get something at the restaurant, she readily agreed.
Noah was shocked at her prior living conditions. He decided that he would change her life. Will they have that happily ever after we love?
This novella was a quick read and I enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy it also
