With this being an anthology I won't be doing a backstory, but I will be listing out the stories and a cryptic note next to each story.

This collection of 10 short stories took me on one hell of a terror ride filled with thrills and chills!

1) Preignition by Steve Stred: Four friends are together till the end of time.

2) A Campfire Tale by Tom Deady: Will the true killer please stand up.

3) Tanglewood by Ronald Kelly: Sometimes the dead come back.

4) New Skulls for the Old Cemetery by Calvin Demmer: Respect the dead or else.

5) Larry's Guest by Guy N. Smith: Vampire becomes part of the family.

6) Where the Holly Ceases to Grow by Lex H. Jones: An unexpected being becomes a lifelong friend.

7) Crabs by Kevin J. Kennedy: No one is able to eat these crabs!

8) Dead Ends and Open Roads by Kyle M. Scott: An abusive husband gets his just desserts.

9) Lifewatch by Christopher Motz: A watch that predicts time of death.

10) Family Ties by John Kennedy: A heartfelt poem about family.

Thoughts:

All the stories were great and all of them had some type of horror/terror that was weaved throughout each story. Once again, the author, Kevin J. Kennedy was able to gather quite a few authors together for these stories. As always with these book anthologies I know of a couple or so authors as I have read them before and find some more authors to explore which within this book I found a few. Giving this book five "Terror Tension" stars!

Familiar Authors.

I love Guy N. Smith, I’ve read a lot of his books. His books are amazing. And he writes the story called Larry’s Guest, in this collection. It’s about a vampire.

Christopher Motz writes about the end of the world. Or is it? Look for this in the story Lifewatch.

And l love the style and skills by one of my favorite writers, Kevin J. Kennedy. He wrote the story called Crabs. There is a terrifying tsunami and the oceans overflow onto the land. Leaving behind a huge population of crabs. Enough said.

These stories are just a few of the stories in this book. A few of these stories are meh! Most of them are great and the rest of them are extraordinary! Hope you enjoy them.

Four stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Horror Collection: Ruby Edition is a killer collection of short stories that were each a blast to read and served up plenty of terror!

Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.

Like all of Kevin’s collections, I cannot recommend this one highly enough. Some of the tales truly terrified me while others made me chuckle or were more heartwarming. As always, this one has something for everyone and the mix is just wonderful as it will keep readers on their toes, not knowing what to expect next.

Ruby Edition

A great collection of stories but I'd expect nothing less from Kevin Kennedy, he brings together some great stories. Family Ties was an excellent end to the book and was so glad it was included

What a great short collection of short stories. Of the nine stories and one poem I only really didn't care for two. That's definitely a win for me. There's a good mix of topics ranging from airplanes, killer animals, campfire tales, and apocalypses. There's a great mix of new-to-me authors and some old favorites. Steve Stred, Tom Dead and Calvin Demmer are all great standbys for me. Two authors who I've been unfamiliar with, Lex H. Jones and Kyle M. Scott had the two best stories in the collection. So, in short, this is a fantastic short story collection in a now long-running series. This is only the second "The Horror Collection" I've read, but it was absolutely masterful. I'd suggest this to any horror fans. I'll list a few of my favorites below!

"Preignition" - Steve Stred
"A Campfire Tale" - Tom Deady
"Where the Holly Ceases to Grow" - Lex H. Jones
"Dead Ends and Open Roads" - Kyle M. Scott (my favorite in the collection!)

Wow

Short stories are the best to read, as you get a scary jolt for a short time and then off to your next project.

I was overjoyed to see that there's a Ruby Edition of the Horror Collection. I expected to see a lot of this colour, and these stories did not disappoint! There were red skies, red fire, red blood, red crabs, red berries, and other things that I imagined to be a dark, ruby red!

As usual, here are my thoughts on each story!

I love a horror anthology and this one ticked all the boxes for me. Some stories are gorey with murders, some are creepy and some are just supernatural. I love short stories because they tend to stick with me for longer, I think about them often. This book had several stories that I keep thinking about. One of which was The Campfire Tale by Tom Deady. There is a killer on the lose targeting campers, two women are on a camping site in their RV and they are approached by a letchy man. Who will be the one to die? Also, I loved Crabs by Kevin J. Kennedy, it was an absolutely bonkers story about a giant crab invasion in Glasgow.

There are several of the Horror Collection books I can’t wait to read more and discover new (to me) horror authors.
