A teenager defends her brother from a ravenous creature that feeds on sick children. Dystopian nightmares drive a man into the wilderness, where he learns that freedom comes with a high price. And a comet passing over the Earth rids the planet of the vermin infesting its surface.
Scare Street is proud to present twelve chilling tales of the supernatural, in one monstrous volume. This ghastly collection of short stories is your ticket to the world of dark nightmares and sinister dreams.
It’s time to cross the veil once again, and journey into the underworld. Strange cries echo through the misty fog, and the moon hangs low beyond the gnarled trees. The spirits have come to welcome you back to the shadows.
The Scare Street authors never disappoint and TERROR IN THE SHADOWS Volume 8 terrifyingly and terrifically continues that tradition. Science Fiction and Horror reign supreme in this collection, in which feckless fools, criminals, and yes, innocents, all discover there is a world or worlds beyond, much more horrifying than we could ever imagine. Get your Scares and Chills on; but first, check your doors and windows, turn on all your lights, avoid Shadows, and don't read at night alone.
I am glad to see that Scare Street published another edition of Terror in the Shadows. These short stories, along with those published in the Short Horror Stories volumes, are among the best in the genre. Most of them involve ghosts and while one might think the reader would tire of ghost stories after awhile, these gems never get stale. In this volume there are hauntings in schools, homes, cemeteries, back yards, just about every place one can think of. Pathways that appear quaint and safe can lead to unimaginable horrors. Curiosity can almost certainly produce decidedly bad endings. If you enjoy good, honest frights, pick up a copy of this book, or any of the Scare Street volumes.
This is my first Scare Street volume and was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it as much I did. There is a nice mixture of stories that will keep you interested if you like the genre.
I won this book from LibraryThing from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
