After divorcing her husband, Miranda Doyle leaves Earth in search of adventure and to find a man who can make her feel desirable. Something like what her BFF Natalie and mate Roark have in their relationship. The closest she's been able to come to so far is with Doctor Valck Brax who has made it clear that theirs is to be a strictly 'friends with benefits' relationship and nothing more.

Finally realizing that Brax will never commit to anything more than being her f&ck buddy, Miranda takes a leap of faith registering with the Interstellar Bride program. Her match is a Prillon warrior in Sector 17 aboard the Battleship Zakar who does want her for the long term HEA ending she's been searching for.

Brax has served as a covert spy in his role as a physician for the Intelligence Core Operations Division but has finally decided to retire. A sexy human female is worth more to him which is why he plans to propose a mating between the two after he returns from this last and final mission. Things don't go as planned when her returns to find Miranda has left. Left to mate with another.

* * *

In this the 16th installment of the "Interstellar Brides Program" a Earth female is matched to a Prillon male. Just a reminder that Prillons follow a two male to one female mating relationship. That means Miranda will have two husbands, Lucky girl.

For me, this was the weakest book of the series as it served no purpose other than to provide a platform for the characters to get it on with each other. I could basically sum up the whole story (that would include spoilers) in one paragraph including the multiple frequent BDSM sex scenes.

This is a book to grab when a reader is specifically looking for BDSM erotica in a loosely based story line. For fans of the series, this book does not give any insight into the overall series plot or even provides any new information not already known. It's goal, imho, is to include a degree of angst and redemption (can't really call it second chance romance opportunity) in a fantasy based highly unrealistic scenario.

I did appreciate that the author brought back Amanda & Commander Grigg from Mastered by Her Mates, and Natalie & Roark from Her Mate's Secret Baby. Always a pleasure to see previous characters return.

Personally, the decision to grab and read this book is an individual decision. It can be read as a standalone as it doesn't affect the overall series in any meaningful way. If you're a fan of the author and/or just want to get another fix of the erotic intimacy between a Prillon warrior pairing and their female I guess that's reason enough

Story is told in alternating 1st person POV.

Full marks for the original conceptualisation - “The Interstellar Brides Program”

The theme of a fail-safe matchmaking mechanism was very novel and intriguing and it really caught my fancy.
But...
The execution and the storytelling could have been so much better.

The Trion, The Prillion & The Earth Girl

Professionally written, fast-paced and engaging “Matched & Mated” the 16th entry in the “Interstellar Brides” series completely diverges from the customary mate matching format, incorporating a supplementary mode for an earth bride/alien(s) match. With likeable and well-developed characters, “Matched & Mated” will elicit a full range of emotions with unforeseen twists, ample drama and plenty of scorching heat. Series enthusiasts will delight in appearances by previous characters and relish the hints provided for potential upcoming characters. Although the 16th book in a series, “Matched & Mated” is a standalone novel, conveyed through dual (+) POV and culminates with an appropriate ending for the current narrative as the overarching story-line continues.

Disclaimer: No Kindles were seriously harmed while reading this novel. Children 18 and over only due to sexually explicit content within an unequal power exchange dynamic!

Disclaimer for the Disclaimer… The term “seriously harmed” is not intended to include: overheating, scorch marks, minor melting or inconsequential fire that can be put out with an extinguisher. Fire retardant gloves highly recommended while reading. Reviewer is not responsible for run-on sentences, misplaced commas and illegal use of overly descriptive language.

In Match and Mated, Miranda finally gets her turn after watching Nathalie and Roark fall in love.

Miranda’s still reeling from her divorce. She was left feeling lonely and unwanted—and that she wasn’t passionate enough to “satisfy” her husband. She knows she deserves more—that she needs more—than what she had in both her marriage and her current “no strings” relationship with her Dom, Brax. With Brax, she wants more—she wants a real relationship, a mate. But Brax isn’t ready to give up his life as an IC agent, yet.

Trist entered into the match program when it was first available many years ago—and now he’s finally been matched. To Miranda! As a Prillon warrior, he and his second are to claim Miranda as their shared mate. But there’s a problem—Trist doesn’t have a second anymore. He never thought he’d actually be matched after such a long time.

Brax is ready at last to claim Miranda as his own. Completing his last mission and submitting his final report to the EC were all that stood in the way of his future with Miranda. Or so he thought.

Now battling for their futures, Trist, Miranda and Brax need to figure out just how things are going to work. Trist provides the love and attention and comfort Miranda desires, and Brax brings out the submissive side of her.

I really liked how Miranda, Trist and Brax came together in the end. That they each brought so much to the relationship. And that they could work it out for the best of everyone and everything. I love this fantastic, sexy AF sci-fi romance series and can’t wait for more! ~ Missy, 4 stars

4,5 stars! Anything that involves a Prillion warrior is a must read in my book and this one didn't disappoint. The theme song of this story is basically Single Ladies

And if the doctor is only playing, the mouse will get herself tested and find herself an honourable Prillion warrior because let's be real, they are the best species in the whole of the Interstellar Brides universe!

What I liked most about this book was h obvious dedication to her matched mate. She didn't falter when the ex suddenly came out of nowhere to get her back. Sorry, you made your bed now you lie in it. Millions of soul and rnb songs have been written about it. Girl, how I did you wrong...

But low and behold, the matche mate is a Prillion who had yet to find a second...

I didn’t enjoy this book and probably won’t read it again.

I liked Miranda at first but by chapter 11, not so much. It was all “I want, I want, I want”. I get that you have needs and you should find yourself as you grow. But there are plenty of men who would have shown her that, even if they can be less than stellar at it all the time. Why she married a man that would make her feel like she had cooties after sex I don’t understand.

Now, I liked Brax. She was with him sporadically for six months. I don’t honestly think she gave him enough time to find his feet in their FWB before she took off to the IBP. The only way her choices made sense was because of his words and the amount of time he was gone for. It kind of read like she only spent about a day or two with him per month. That’s like a total of 12 days altogether. She never clarified her desire for a more serious relationship and I put that error squarely on her shoulders. Brax was just realizing how much she meant to him and then bam(!) she was gone. The serious nature of his job was a super distraction and can be excuse or reason enough for him needing time to get “there” with her.

Then the last thing I didn’t care for was the confrontation between the three of them. I was all into this story up until this point and had been eager for this showdown to finally get the three of them together. But Miranda thought very poorly of Brax in her head. And even called him a fool while he was groveling to her, again this was in her head. I felt she was demeaning towards him and that is not love. When you love someone you don’t see them as less than. Even if you fall for someone else at the same time. The heart is an amazing thing. It can expand to include many and can be super forgiving and I felt she lacked in that understanding.

I liked Tryst. He was a prillon who demanded excellence from a second. As for him giving up hope on a bride and never replacing his former second, I found inappropriately reflected his character, not just as a prillon but as a second in command of a battleship. In previous books, it has been shown that brides arrive at any stage in a males life, young or old once they have earned the right to be tested. So that was just poor planning or a remission of his duty as a prillon potential mate. But then, had there been a second there wouldn’t have been a point to this book.

Brax I liked, and yes he was a clueless guy that F#€ked up and lost his FWB/girl. But a lot could have been avoided had some conversations had happened and a little less sex. As I stated above a conversation about Miranda wanting a serious relationship, a conversation about Brax’s military record, and a conversation about whether any of them wanted babies.

This book was written well, even if I didn’t like how it played out and didn’t like the female lead. My favorite books are the two books with secret babies, one of which introduced the Miranda character. And of course nearly all of the colony books. But I didn’t like this story and I won’t read it again. Hope you can enjoy it more than I did.

The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the Florida.

Written in first person, Matched and Mated is book 16 in this series and follows the human bride Miranda Doyle and her primary mate Captain Trist Treval (a Prillion) and his second Doctor Valck Brax (from Trion) on the the battleship Zakar. This book has so many interesting and different elements from the normal. It kept me glued and is easily one of my favorite books in the series. For starters, we are reminded of book 9 with Councilor Roark and his mate Natalie. She was the rich bitch that was transported back to Earth after becoming impregnated by Roark and because of an attack on the base. It took Roark 11 days, equivalent to almost an Earth year, for him to locate and retrieve her. When she returned to Trion with their new baby, Natalie convinced her nanny Miranda to go with them. And here we are now with Miranda’s story afterwards. Miranda had a bad history with her ex husband that left her broken. She turned to Doctor Brax (also from book 9) for a friends-with-benefits type of relationship. He broke through all her mental hang-ups and healed her, ultimately falling in love with her, but never taking it to the next level of claiming her. She grew tired of waiting for Brax and she wanted more; wanted to come first to someone. So she signed up for the interstellar bride program, where she was transported to Battleship Zakar as Captain Trist’s (from book 6) mate. I LOVED getting to see so many past characters referenced again. In book 6, Amanda was the very first interstellar bride mated to Commander Zakar. Trist was (and still is) Zakar’s 2nd in command (not second mate) under Zakar. Remember the Prillion bride (Lady Mara Myntar) that Amanda comforted in the cafeteria after her mate (Captain Drake Myntar’s 2nd) died after being rescued from the hive? (A scene that brought me to tears, by the way.) Well Trist let his own 2nd out of their obligation so he could become the new second for the Myntars. Which also meant that Trist didn’t have a new second because he never bothered finding one after years of no match. He had given up hope of ever claiming a bride, but Miranda arrived ready to commit, and he became everything she wanted and needed. Until Brax returned from a mission on Trion to find Miranda gone. He quit his job and traveled to the battleship to track her down and win her back. Trions don’t do multiple partners because they are too dominant, territorial and don’t share well with others, but Brax was forced to submit to a different role and learn to be more like Prillions in order to keep Miranda. Brax and Trist started off with a fistfight. I loved the drama and testosterone overload in this book. 🫶🏻 Anyway, turns out that Brax has some other secrets regarding his job with the IC, and he worked hard to gain back her trust as the couple’s second. Everything eventually worked out and the three lived happily ever after as the oddest pairing yet. And I loved every word of it!

You did good with this one Grace! 🫶🏻

Prillions are humanoid. They’re larger and stronger than humans but smaller and weaker than Atlans. Their mating collars allow for the wearers to experience each other’s emotions. They are also an alien species that mate in pairs, assigning a second so in the event one dies, their mate and offspring will never be alone and uncared for. Should an alien mate die, the surviving mate would select a new second to fill their shoes. Trions are also humanoid. They’re larger than humans but smaller than Prillions. They have huge cocks, give spankings and punishments, and they have an S&M bondage culture complete with a submissive and master. They love to adorn their women with jewelry, specifically nipple and clit piercings, and never allow their women to have “rights.” They are essentially nothing more than a sex slave and baby factory, but their “masters” treat them well. They don’t do multiple partners as they are dominant, territorial and don’t share well with others. I love the whole “mine” theme, but that’s about all I love about Trion. I am not a Trion fan, they’re probably my least favorite of the species, next to Vikens. But I will admit that Brax has given me a new appreciation for Trions.

There have been way too many romance novels I’ve read that had me frustrated and yelling “Jesus Christ, when are they gonna fuck?! Get to the good shit already!” When we’re 50% in, and the main characters have barely kissed each other, leaves readers like me aggravated. This is NOT one of those books. I’m fairly confident that there is more sexual content in this book than adventure. It is, quite literally, word porn.

Spankings take place in every single book. If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.”

As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance. Grace Goodwin has ruined me for all other romance novels. After reading her material, I find the others to be tame, dull and overall anticlimactic. I am not ashamed to admit that I have read each of her books at least twice. This book was no exception, I heavily recommend it.

Omg what an amazing book I couldn’t put it down and it’s just another one to add to an amazing series. Miranda Doyle left earth and a horrible ex husband to be with her best friend Natalie and her mate and child to live on Trion. But she was lonely and was now having a friends with benefits relationship with Brax the Doctor and after some time stealing moments together when he was home she decides she wants more and so does he but they never tell each other how they feel, and he cannot have her as his mate until he finishes with his last job. Feeling hurt and alone that he came back and never contacted her at all she makes the decision to apply for the interstellar brides program and is matched to a Prillion officer Captain Trist Treval from the battleship Zakar and will be transported to him straight away and now he is just as surprised after all this time that his mate will be with him in just moments. Once she arrives he is overtaken by her beauty and how protective he is of her and that no other will take her away from him. When Miranda awakens she is pleased with her new mate and a little sad to be leaving him Brax’s behind but he didn’t want her now she has a mate of her own Trist he is strong, caring and most of all he wants her and only her and she is beyond happy. What happens when Brax’s comes to get her back and to make her his, what will her new mate Trist think of the man claiming to be her mate. Read this amazing story and all the others and fall in love with the interstellar brides program series you won’t be disappointed. “Another great book I loved it”

After so many Interstellar Brides program novels, I wondered where Ms. Goodwin would go next. After all, if it ain't broke, why fix it, right? Well, the decision to mix things up a bit couldn't have worked out better. This "match and mate" is between a Trion alien who has captured Miranda's heart but has let her slip through his grasp, and a Prillon warrior who has been matched to Miranda via the Interstellar Brides program. Before this, the stories involved only one alien world and I wondered if this departure from a well-crafted series would work.

It works and it certainly is exciting. I never thought about it, but reading this book was a "aha" moment. I couldn't believe I had never thought of this before! Ms. Goodwin is certainly creative (which I am not) and her decision to branch out into a new direction is most definitely admired.

I am thrilled to offer this review since Ms. Goodwin was good enough to share an early copy of the book.

This is the best book of the series IMO! With the series on it’s 16 book I was wondering how the author was going to make it unique and she far exceeded my expectations. Miranda divorces her ex and follows Natalie and her son Noah to Trion, but the ex did a number on her psyche. She meets Brax and they carry on a no strings attached arrangement until one day Miranda wants more. Instead of taking to Brax she and to a lesser extent Natalie decide to enroll Miranda into the Interstellar Bride program where she is matched to a Prillon Commander named Trist. Brax and Trist try to compete for Miranda’s affection but Brax lost the right when he picked his job over her. She just wants to be put first and Trist does this. Will she choose Trist or Brax in the end? Which will make her happier? I can’t wait for the next installment of this series! I highly recommend this book!!

I liked this book so much better than the last book, I’m glad I didn’t give up on the series!

This one started off a little differently because the human had been living in space for the past two years but not as a bride. She was the nanny of a bride from a past book who went back to earth after thinking her mate was dead and had his baby in earth.

Well the nanny had apparently been married before back in earth but the guy was not good to her at all. After 1.8 months on the planet she decided to get into a physical relationship with a doctor from that planet who also went on too secret missions so he would be away all the time.

After 6 months with him she realized she loved him but he was committed to his work so well he was away she got matched & transported to her 99% mate.

Things with her new mate were perfect but his people usually mate with 2 men but he released his second after years of never finding his mate.

Then the doctor ex from the other planet comes and convinces them to let him be the second.
The spice was amazing!

There’s also a hive attack and everyone pulls together and they just make such a great team!

The storyline & relationships were all great in this book!

"I was ready to belong again."

Miranda was convinced she had a knack for picking the wrong men, ones who hurt her emotionally, and simply didn't care for her and lover her the way she needed.it was time to trust someone else, and the Interstellar Brides Program seemed the way to go.

The moment Miranda arrived she was all Trust had e er wanted, and he was ready to adjust and adapt his life as Captain of a battleship to be sure he was there for her, in every way she needed... but he was aware his love and devotion triggered a sadness in her, rubbed at a wound he yearned to heal.

Brad had thought he was doing everything the way Miranda wanted, until she disappeared, mated someone else... and then used her words to really hit him where it hurt.

This done in one story revolves around three people who hadn't imagined now would be the time they formed a family, yet they found in each other the ones who offered just what they needed. (Sometimes one person can't be your everything, but two can work together, and balance each other to create perfection you never dared hope for.)

Matched And Mated #16 07/17/2021

Miranda is on Trion to help her best friend but she is slightly broken her ex didn’t understand her need for a dominant and forceful man he would tell her she was sick. But when she came to Trion where all the males are dominant she found a doctor to help her find herself and find out what makes her tick. But after two years with Brax she now wants more but he may not be ready for more. So she has been tested for the bride’s program and matched to a pillion warrior their are alway two of them but trust has waited so long he released his second so he could join with another to have a family. Now trust will have to find a second. But Brax is done he wants Miranda and he is coming to get her back . So enjoy another great read and see how these three will have to go through to get their HEA!!

I liked the unorthodox way that this trio came together. It felt original in the context of the entire series. The Prillon books up to this point have all been Prillons with their seconds already selected, so the idea of there only being one Prillon searching for his second was pretty unique.

I really loved how Tris healed Miranda's heart, both from Brax's indecision and her ex-husband's disgust. Brax, who comes in all brash and rude at first, actually turns into a great guy once he realizes how his words and actions have affected Miranda. He realizes that he's made mistakes and takes action to make her believe the depth of his feelings for her. Tris is seriously the best. He never lets Miranda doubt the depth of his affections for her. And even though he is calling the shots, he ALWAYS lets her feelings and desires be at the forefront of his choices.

Bello. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved this one!!!

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved the bit of a twist that we got with this one as well. We have met Miranda in an early book and she followed her friend to Trion and recently has been with Brax on Trion and things have been getting deeper but it started out with no strings and while he was in town and not out on missions. Miranda would love to take things deeper and be Brax's mate but he has made comments that he isn't ready to do that and after their last time together Brax does want Miranda but the comments he made while they were together, led it to be like she is meant for someone else and not him. Then she finds out he was in town and never came to see her so she decides to sign up for the bride testing and is matched to Trist, a Prillon warrior. I really loved Trist and Miranda together. Trist had a second but then he was asked to be a part of a different one and took it so he currently doesn't have one. I did appreciate how Trist wasn't rushing finding a second and was taking a little bit of time to get to know Miranda and figure out exactly what she needed and was open to having her be a part of that decision as well. Then Brax shows up and puts himself forward as wanting to be the second since Miranda was connected and felt secure with Trist. I loved watching them build their connection and really enjoyed the way this one went down. It definitely had some action as well and some twists with the new cloaking the hive is using. I'm excited for what is coming next for sure!

I ahve to say that I di not see this one coming. I have to say that if yiu want something fro. Your partner or your feeling change - OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND SAY HOW YOU FEELING.

The biggest issue is that Brax and Miranda both fell in love but because of his job and the deal they made neither spoke up. Trist totally forgot he tested for mate years ago. Trist immediately fell in love with Miranda when she showed up after being a positive match. Hurt and rejected (she thinks), Miranda is creating another life with Trist when Brax shows up.

I love that two different species wanted the same thing with Miranda...and most of all they all realized that communication is the key and love is possible when you let the walls down and tell the truth.

A new beginning for Miranda

Miranda has been seeing Doctor Braxton for a couple of months. They both wanted to keep things on the down low, or do they told each other. Doctor Brad is a double agent being a doctor but then warrior on the side. He felt his life was too dangerous for a mate. Miranda wanted what her friend Natalie had a husband Roark, and children. Since Doctor Braxton said that not want a mate or children, Miranda decided to take matters into her own hands. She applied for the bride program and was matched to General Trist straight away. It is a cute story but Miranda and Brax were annoying at times. They constantly had miscommunications. There is a happy ending. Read On!

Body and soul

She followed her friend to Trion to help take care of baby Noah. Now two years later Miranda is ready for a mate and children of her own.
She had a friends with benefits going on with Brax and that helped her heal the emotional damage feom her ex back on Earth. Giving up on him ever wanting a mate, her, she signed up to be an Intersteller Bride and got mated to her own strong Prillon.
Trist was everything she needed the whole love at first sight thing going on for them two. However, things get complicated when Brax shows up and Hive attacks.
I really enjoyed this story. The love of the characters brings a smile to my face.

A match from the Interstellar Brides Program sends lonely and disappointed Miranda Doyle to the Battleship Zakar in outer space. She has become the bride of a fierce Prillon warrior, Captain Trist Treval. They are a perfect match. However, all is not well. A misunderstanding between Miranda and Dr. Valck Brax, the man she loved on Trion, caused her to doubt his devotion and their future together. This story is filled with strong emotions, good, bad, and spicy! The characters are robust, and the storyline is irresistible. An unexpected HIVE attack brings out the true warrior in unexpected individuals and leads to a very satisfying conclusion. Good Read!!!!

Miranda and Brax have a “friends with benefits” relationship between missions he carries out for his government. Miranda is ready to make a commitment, but he always puts her second. When he goes off again she makes a decision to seek a true mate through the Interstellar Brides Program. When he returns she is gone. She finds a perfect match, Trist, and is settling in when Brax appears. This story has more plot, more adventure, and more danger than some others in this series, making for a better read.

Amazing and Sexy!

I love Grace Goodwin and her books! She makes each one such a pleasure, with adventurous locations, imaginative stories, great species and characters, sexy alpha males, strong & sassy heroines, engaging the reader & their feelings and giving us the best sex ever!
Goodwin books are absolutely fantastic and perfect!
Nobody does it better. We want to live in the world she has created and have our own hot, alpha mate!
Thank you, Grace! We want MORE!!!

Love this series

The books are well written and even though it's the same theme of a hero getting a bride, each story is unique. It makes me wish for my own alien or two. The way the tortured heroes are given a new purpose when their mate arrives is glorious but not as good as their need to love and protect their precious gift. I want a Prillon collar and the two mates that go with it.

This was quite entertaining. Definitely more erotic romance territory with a dom/sub element. Really enjoyed the mating practices for each of the species of alien she is mated to. Only criticism is the FMC’s anger at MMC 1 not opening up to her when she did the very same. Neither told the other what they wanted or how they felt before she makes the decision to seek out a mate in the bride program. That part of the story is weak but it’s otherwise a fun read.

Matched and Mated # 16

Darn how does an Earth girl get her a couple of these Alien Hunks. Do they go for older women? Ms Goodwin always has a way of taking a hardnose Alien and makes him a gooey mess when it comes to Earth woman. Fantastic reading with each and every one of her books.

This one was fun. I really enjoyed the setup, and I always love a visit to Trion. To get Trion and Prillon Prime in one book was a treat. It's been a while since the series has been back to the Zakar Battleship group, so that was an interesting place to be, and Miranda's relationships with Brax and Trist are both great. I felt that the relationship between Brax and Trist was just a little more awkward than it needed to be.

Spicy heat

I discovered I don't like angst luckily it's not all angsty just a bit along with battle scenes in and out of the bedroom and you have to love those happy endings. This series is 23 books long along with spinoffs but I love how they are all interconnected by the characters. I really enjoy this author and this series.

Too cute

Trillions usually pick a second long before they find their bride. The odd circumstances of Trist not having a second worked out well when Brax came to his senses and showed up. The flour trick was inspired and the little girls quickly caught on and joined in.

I used to love Grace Goodwin‘s books but I’m not sure what’s happening lately, they’re falling down. The female protagonist in this book is so weak and pathetic. The story is very stilted. It does end up pretty good but it’s not enough to carry the book.
