A book of rhymes. Some you may recognize: Georgie Porgie, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, Jack Sprat, Jack Horner.

Some I didn't recognize: Icle ockle blue bockle, Little Tee-wee, Doctor Forster went to Gloucester, Dance little baby dance up high, and Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

Great to teach kids rhyming with. The Illustrations were done in 1985 by Tomie dePaola. The board Book edition came out in 2005.

This is a nice follow-up to Tomie's Little Mother Goose, and includes some rhymes that wouldn't fit into the first volume as well as several lesser-known ones. An excellent addition to a Mother Goose collection. At the board book age this is the perfect fit, since this will introduce the forms and tunes of the traditional rhymes, and as children get older they can be introduced to more complete versions.

We love Tomie dePaola's books and this is a great version of Mother Goose's rhymes, with a bunch of new ones I never heard before. Though it's a board book, it's a bit long to read at one setting with the youngest children.

Considering this is a small board book, there are a number of rhymes included. Read about Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Lavender's blue, diddle, diddle, Three Little ghostesses, and Little King Pippin and his pie-crust and pastry-crust wall.
