I don’t have time for my mother’s games or her menagerie of mammals, reptiles, and god knows what else. At least, I don’t think I have time for them until I meet her trusted veterinarian, Amelia. Suddenly, it seems I’m extremely interested in the wellbeing of my mother’s furry and scaly friends, so much so that I visit the vet’s office on a daily basis. It’s the least I can do for both my mother and the devoted vet.
Amelia is a sweet, caring woman with a big heart. I couldn’t be more different. I’m a crow with killer instincts and a thirst for power. But even crows need care, don’t they? Even a rough beast can find love in the heart of innocent, tender beauty. I intend to take that love for myself, right along with everything else Amelia has to offer.
But when the truth about my ruthless life is exposed, will she see a wounded animal in need of her redeeming love or a predator that should be put down?

Another great quick read by MINK….
Grant is the head of a mafia family and his mother loves animals and talks him into accompanying her to the vet where he meets Amelia. Amelia is sweet and innocent and totally taken by the charming Grant but she thinks he is a gardener.
Plenty of action in this story. A lot packed into a tiny book. Low on spice but overall a good and exciting read.

Grant has been a one man one mind part of the mob type of guy he has no bussiness and no time for anything other then work. Until his sneaky mom introduce him to her vet Amelia and all that Flys out of his head as he makes up excuse after excuse to see her. And Amelia is pretty blind and pure on what he does and is very naive really for a a vet lol.
But they make a cute couple and hes very possessive which I loveeee!!!! Ugh those men make me melt lol. We also have a tiny misunderstanding but it's taken care of asap.

At this point I feel like if I just say “mink” that that one word should be enough to encapsulate everything one of her books possesses, such as: a badass, lethal hero who is soft and mushy for only one human: his woman. And a heroine who is quirky, nerdy, sweet, feminine with a fierce edge, who brings her alpha male to his knees with her purity and innocence. And sex scenes that will melt ones kindle! Then mix in some furbabies and bloodshed, and voila! a Mink book.
I freakin love this author and this one was another winner!

I let out a small gasp. “You think I’m sexy?” I look down at my kitten sweater. I knew when I bought this one it would be a hit. Bullseye!

This woman—she’s something special. Something pure. Something good. I can feel it like a glow around her. And that’s when I know she’s mine. All mine. And I’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to her. It’s wrong and wild and a little insane. But it’s also right.

Not as good as “His Clever Kitten” but makes for a quick, no drama read if that's what you want.
The FL seemed like a rational and smart woman until later chapters where she was shown to be naive. That felt wrong. She wasn't as dynamic and fun as Maddy, the girl from first book. I missed that book's FL every darn second as I read this.
The ML was fine but he got on my nerves with all his growls and mine. A little is fine, but there's something like a little too much which just ruins it all.
It was an okay read for me.

It’s cute, but the heroine doesn’t work for me.
It’s not even a not-my-cuppa or couldn’t connect with her issue. She makes no sense. She’s blindingly innocent. We’re talking should be wearing pigtails and holding lollipops innocent. And that’s cute when that innocence is a character choice that matches the rest of the character choices. But this woman is a vet. You have to spend eight years in higher education to become a vet and most of those years are spent in science classes. You’re never going to find a doctor of any kind who is that clueless about sex. Ever. Virgin? Sure, maybe, it’s as believable as any virgin in their 20s nowadays. But clueless? Nope.
I’m also shocked to say that the queen of short romance cat ladies made a couple feline faux paws* (get it? Paws?) in this story.
Four 8 week old kittens are left in a basket behind the vets office. It doesn’t mention this basket having any sort of a lid. Then, those kittens are left behind a safety fence in a closet so they can’t get out. Clearly, MINK hasn’t had a litter of 8 week old kittens before. I foster. A lot. My last bottle babies that I weaned from a week old were all just adopted last week. No three foot fence is keeping 8 week old kittens in a room. That basket would have been empty within a minute. Once kittens can jump...around 5 weeks...there’s no going back. I’ve had countless kittens not even off the bottle climb safety fences and laugh in the face of any sort of open air containment idea. They must have a closed door, a cage, a kennel, or my personal favorite, a zippered playpen. Dogs can be contained by fences, but cats? Definitely not.
I have to admit, I’m very surprised by that particular plot point. I know for most people it wouldn’t be noticeable at all, but I’m a cat lady and so, I assume, is the author who’s pen name is clearly cat based and who features a cat in every single story.
Beyond that, the story is cute, but I think our heroine should’ve been a vet tech or front desk greeter. Someone younger who loves pets and works in the office. Or she should’ve had a personality and confidence that matched her education.
It’s not my favorite MINK book. Given that I love most MINK books, I’m certainly not despairing over this one off disappointment. But it’s not one that I intend to read again. And if you’re considering this as your first MINK book I recommend starting elsewhere. Loan Shark’s Obsession or Nanny and the Beast are great places to start. If you’re already a MINK fan, go for it. It’s in that signature MINK style that we love so much and I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a certain set of characters again in a later book.

Grant is a mafia crime boss who’s matchmaking mother makes him take her to the local veterinarian, Amelia. When he sees Amelia it’s love at first sight for him. Amelia is very naive and not even sure if he’s flirting with her, but she is attracted to him. Grant moves her into his home when he finds out she has a creepy neighbor and that someone if following her. Grant’s sure it’s one of his rivals following her, she has no clue he’s a crime boss. Because she likes Grant she easily goes along with pretty much whatever he says, his steamy kisses help persuade her too. Grant has to meet with another crime boss Vic, who is a very bad man, he brings his daughter Mariana to the meeting and offers her up to Grant to marry to join their to crime families. Seeing how bad Vic treats her he brings her home with him. Amelia overhears him talking with his right hand man Fenton about marrying her and keeping Amelia as a mistress, she tries to leave. Grant stops her and tells her he was only saying that because Fenton wants Mariana. Grant tells her he only wants her and will only marry her then they have their first time together. Mariana is still a problem, especially when she tells Grant if he sends her back to her dad she will tell him they all violated her and start a war. His mom tells him Mariana isn’t going back and they will go to war. When Vic kidnaps Amelia Grant does go to war, for Amelia. With Mariana’s help they find Amelia and he, Fenton, and his mom rescue her. They take Vic hostage. Grant is shot while rescuing her but recovers and asks Amelia to marry him. Epilogue years later with a daughter who is just like her dad and Amelia pregnant with their son.

Amelia was a super adorable vet, naive at times but overall so sweet, loved her. Grant was great mmc, their personalities were so well together. For a mafia boss he was sweet as sugar to her. The mom was a hoot too

Surprise
I was not expecting this to be a kingpin story. Picked book from Amazon recommendation and I liked blurb.
Not fond of organized crime, etc books, but this one.
It surprised me. I loved the characters.
The ending with their daughter was awesome.

I really loved this story.🤣🤣😍😍 It was fun to read, sweet, romantic, steamy safe and had a sweet HEA. Grant and Amelia were such a sweet couple and so so different 😉 The storyline and the characters were great and I hope we get more of them in future books. You got to love the crazy Lena and Mariana and Fenton as well.😍😍😍

So his mom is obsessed with animals and has over 15 of them and takes them to the vet for unusual reasons that are usually nothing and his mom Lena decides to take him with her to basically get him out of the house. He goes with her and meets his new obsession, the vet doc, Amelia. It’s like insta love. Her innocence sets him off. He wants her and not just for a fuck, he wants her to be his wife and rule the mafia with him. She doesn’t know what he is at first because she just thinks he’s a gardener. She’s so innocent it’s so funny how he corrects her and she just is like ok. He lets her bring kittens home because he wants her to enjoy living in his house. That all changes with their enemy brings his daughter, Mariana for Grant to marry and he’s not going to so he says and Vic, the other mafia dude gets mad and kidnaps Amelia and kills her boss that was a perv thank god. He declares war and shoots up Vic’s house and Grant is shot and passes out to which he wakes up and calls for her and ITS SO CUTEEEEEEE😭😭✋🏻. Anyways they have such a cute girl, Phoenix and she’s a spitfire and a cutie all in one. They have a son on the way and I love how non sexist they are when it comes to who’s taking over the mafia. The epilogue had me laughing. Like the guy Steve was like you wanna grab a snow cone and she didn’t say anything and then her man was like you talking to my girl dude and he was like no and literally Grant shoved him away. It was so funny ngl.

If you want to smile non-stop, you have to read this little treat. I certainly smiled the whole time because the pretty doctor is charmingly clueless, there are pets everywhere and the sense of humor tends to go chucklingly dark.
The names of the animals are hilarious! I wanted to run to my neighbour to tell them about the pets and their rambunctious lives in this mansion where a matriarch knows what's best for her son.
This tall, dark, and dangerous son is struck by love as soon as he meets the sweet vet with her glasses and her good heart. I loved the mix of adorable romance and protective alpha-male with his dark life taking care of devious businesses and dealing with enemies for good.
The heroine's workplace is very lively. I liked that atmosphere. There's a nice dose of passionate scenes between the main characters, a totally crazy action plot twist that made me want to see this in a live movie, and an epilogue filled with furry cuteness. Also, the man never ceases to prove how far he'll go to protect and love his woman. It's really adorable.

There's a nice dose of passionate scenes between the main characters, a totally crazy action plot twist that made me want to see this in a live movie, and an epilogue filled with furry cuteness. Also, the man never ceases to prove how far he'll go to protect and love his woman. It's really adorable.

Vetting His Kitten is a fun frolic back into Mink's savage and intoxicating mafia world. We meet yet another intriguing, powerful man who is brought to his knees by a sweet, innocent woman who owns his heart from the first glance. However, this time, it's a mother's opportunity to match two hearts. Wanting her son to have more to life then violence and fighting, she devises a way to bring some love and light into his dark world. What a brilliant mother! She brings two lonely souls together and creates sparks of both passion and joy.
Mink is a literary goddess! She knows how to melt your heart without even breaking a sweat. She only has to transform her genius into words that float out into the world and breath light and hope into our dreary world. Those words are more powerful then a nuclear bomb in my humble opinion for they can change the course of a heart and persuade a stubborn mind to open up, consider, and love with abandon.

Amelia loves nothing more than being a vet and spending her time playing with all the animals that come in for check-ups! That is until Grant walks in and suddenly the cats she sees aren't the only ones who want to start purring. But Amelia is young and naive to the dating scene and she's not sure if what she feels for Grant is reciprocated or if it's just something she's imagining!
Grant takes one look at his mother's faveorite vet and knows that Amelia is the one for him. Sweet and innocent, a combination that has never appealed to him until now. When a rival family seeks to take Amelia away from him, Grant knows that he'll stop at nothing to get her back!
This is another very enjoyable read from MINK! I liked all the different animals we got to see in this book and Grant is the perfect book boyfriend who knows nothing except spoil his girl!
