Rate this book
Dakota Scott heads to the small town of Holly Hills to lick his wounds and spend Christmas with his ailing grandmother. Things don’t exactly go as planned and Dakota finds himself shacking up with a sexy silver fox. No worries, it’s just until the holiday is over.

Vince Carter is a self-proclaimed Grinch who somehow ends up starting over in a perpetual Christmas town. He definitely should have said no when his friend’s hot-as-sin grandson offers up a holiday fling, but Vince has clearly lost his mind.

What starts as quick and easy mixed with a little Christmas magic soon turns into something much more than either man could have ever imagined. Will what they’ve found in each other pass as quickly as the approaching holiday? Or will Dakota and Vince find a way to navigate the obstacles they face together?

4 voyeuristic Christmas cactus stars

SWEET AND SNOWY

This was such a cute low-angst holiday romance. I didn't expect to find one of my favorite historical romance tropes - a.k.a only one bed - in this book 🥰 It was so good!

I loved Kota and Vince together. They felt so right, like they had known each other for ages. They just clicked and I could sense it through the writing. Since the first time they met in the storm, they felt a connection and every passing day made it stronger. I like insta-love when it's well done and it's really the case here. The Christmas atmosphere may have helped ⭐

Kota had had a rough month and needed a new start. He lost himself in Vince and Christmas magic, but actually also found himself back in Holly Hills. He went for what he wanted in art and love.
Vince left his old sad life behind a few years ago and came live in this peaceful little Christmas corner, even if he hated the holiday - but he had a good reason! Upon meeting Kota, he knew something changed in him and wanted to keep this beautiful man by his side

Everything went so smoothly and we can partly thanks Mary Joy for it 🤣 The fact she tricked Kota so he'd visit her was already funny. But when she went full meddling mode with the disappearing furniture was hilarious! Between that and them reviving a Christmas cactus in a very unexpected way made my day.

This book was fun, sexy and heartfelt. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season ❄

A sweet and low-angst holiday romance. Kota and Vince are super cute together! Kota has had a rough time lately and he ends up finding the magical new start he needs in both Holly Hills and in his grouchy silver fox. It just so happens that the magic of Christmas extends to Vince’s grinchy feelings, and with Kota by his side, he’s able to find his own joy. This is the perfect cosy read to get you in the Christmas spirit. It’s sweet, steamy, funny, and has a cast of wonderful characters.

This is a sweet Insta love Winter Romp! Kota is adorable and Vince is just right amount of grumpy! This one is told from both POV which I always love! Here we get good descriptions of our guys and their feelings! This one is Sweet and Steamy pretty early on which is a perfect balance for the length and setting of their romance! I recommend for all you looking for a quick, low angst age gap holiday read!

This book was just lush to read it was stunning
Dakota Scott was heading home to Holly Hills because his grandmother had sent him a letter making him feel that she was in ill-health and maybe this would be her last Christmas. He had had an awful couple of months he had lost his job, lost his apartment and lost his boyfriend so he had nowhere to be and thought visiting his grandma would be the best idea. the weather was awful and his car just couldn’t make it up the hill and he found Himself stuck with no signal on his phone, wearing the worst clothes to be stuck out in this weather. Thankfully he was rescued by a guy called Vince who worked for his grandmother and could get him up to the guesthouse. Kota was instantly attracted to him. He’s never been attracted to an older man but Vince just did it for him.
Vince was glad he made the trip down to see if anyone is stuck at the bottom of the hill. He found Kota handsome and couldn’t get over how good looking he was he was just stunning. Once back at the guesthouse where Vincent been staying he could tell the attraction was two sided. It felt like a magnet. Vincent came to Holly Hills to escape his past he hadn’t like the man he was and here he could enjoy just being Vince the handyman.
I don’t wanna give too much away about this book but believe me when I say you will be hooked within the first chapter. The book is absolutely delicious. honestly you won’t be able to stop yourself from falling for these two men. And Mary Jo is one crafty lady. I really like her. I really didn’t want this book to end, it was just so beautiful. I cannot wait to read another book by A D Ellis super excited
A fantastic read

4.5 stars, rounded up.

My favorite books have characters who have substantial age differences. In Holly Hills Christmas we have twenty-four-year-old Kota and forty-four-year-old Vince. I also love small town romances. Holly Hills is the ultimate small town.

There are so many things I liked about this book but the main thing is how everything happened so fast. As in, the two men are hooking up shortly after they meet and are forced (by a matchmaking grandma) to stayed holed up together in a guest house during a snowstorm.

The sex scenes (and there are quite a few) are hot. I loved both main characters and the above-mentioned matchmaking grandma. There's some humor scattered throughout with some of it involving a Christmas cactus that had me laughing. I only had one small issue with the book but it only slightly took away from the story as a whole.

A sweet, sexy romance.

This was a nice feel good Christmas story to get us into the cozy mood of sweet surprises and family get togethers!

Dakota Scott is on his way to help his ailing granny or so he thought when the magic of Holly Hills starts by causing his car to stall just before he could reach the hill.

This in turn is where Vincent Carter a sexy silver fox rescues the most beautiful angel of a man he has ever seen and drags him up the hill and into his life….:

Their journey starts when a meddling matchmaking grandmother and a dying Christmas Cactus shows them the meaning of Christmas and how the magic of Holly Hills can lead to a new beginning…….

I love A. D. Ellis books and I can guarantee if you love a story with a grouchy man who finds his love for Christmas and so much more then this is the book for you!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute, holiday romance. Dakota (Kota) is driving to Holly Hills after reading his grandmother’s letter basically saying she was on her last days and love to have her grandson over for Christmas. As he trying to go over an icy hill, he gets stuck. Poor Kota , he had a crappy month of losing his job, his apartment and his friend with benefits. He meets Vince as he stops to give him a hand. Vince takes him back to his place. Between the magic of Christmas and his grandmother’s matchmaking, their chemistry was off the charts and romance quickly followed.

A.D. Ellis is a known author to me and enjoy her books and audiobooks This was a fun age gap forced proximity love story set in a year round Christmas themed little town. Kota had a hectic month, let go of his job, ending contract for his rental and his friend with benefits found a kove of his own, before he returns home to his grandma for the Christmas holiday.
He gets stuck near his destination and Vince, who left his city life behind
They have to share a place for the holidays. Follow them along and see how they find their hea/hfn in this light and quick read.
Warning: A granny with her own agenda 😉

One longs to make his own art, one is striving for a quiet life. The attraction is instant. Will they be willing to risk their hearts? Will they find their "home"?

I loved how encouraging Vince was when it came to Kota getting and following his dream. Kota definitely proved that Vince was where his heart was and I loved how when he found the truth, he didn't let that ruin everything. This was a cute, steamy read!

This is a feel good romance between Dakota and Vince. The author does a great job developing their story and bringing them together. It's a sweet and sexy M/M holiday romance in small town Holly Hills. She brings an age gap insta love , adds in a bit of humor and a lot of steam and delivers a great Christmas romance.

A.D. Ellis always creates characters that I just want to squish and love on... and Kota and Vince are no different... although I was thrown off by Vince Carter's name since I'm an old school Toronto Raptors fan, but beyond that A.D. has created a story where Christmas permeates every page...

Wow, this was certainly insta-something LOL, they were going at it a few short hours after meeting. I'm not a huge fan of insta love/lust but sometimes it works out in the end in this case I wish more attention was spent on the story. I really liked these two but all the sex, and there was a lot of it, got in the way.

● Holiday/Christmas
● Age difference (20-ish years give or take I forget exactly)
● Grinch/Sunshine
● Small town
● Insta lust/love
● Snow storm
● Forced proximity/one bed
● A very sweet and funny grandmother
● Too much sex, I needed more story
● Really likeable MCs... Kota & Vince
● Satisfying enough ending

The insta-love is next level in this story and the only think that rankled about that for me was the internal monologues by both MC's, questioning if what they had was real or not. It's been 24 hours, who knows.

Take your Christmas Magic and be happy.

The little bit of angst felt a little forced and really wasn't necessary. They could have just flowed along, getting a smidge of necessary conflict from how their futures were going to play out. It would have worked better for me and kept the story more in the Hallmark-love-zone, where it had already parked itself.

This one is just too INSTANT.

These two are strangers. Having known each other less than twenty-four hours, they decide it's ok to have sex without condoms. They both are thinking forever and long term. It was too much, too quickly.

Love and Magic . . .

The personalities of the main characters make this story perfect! Dakota (“Kota”) is absolutely wonderful and Vince is the perfect semi-grumpy guy whose life will be turned around by this experience.

Dakota Scott’s grandmother Mary Joy sent him a letter at the perfect time. She wanted him to visit her at the Holly Hills bed-and-breakfast, hinting that this could be her last Christmas. With things going badly for him, losing his job, apartment, and boyfriend, this was probably a good time to get away for a visit. Stuck at the bottom of the steep hill when his car slid into a ditch on the snow and ice, he was relieved when Vince Carter, a handsome silver fox handyman who worked for his grandmother, found him and gave him a ride up to the guest house.

Dakota’s grandmother told him they have to share the guest house, where Vince stays, for the holidays since the inn is full. Between the magic of Christmas and his grandmother’s matchmaking, their chemistry was off the charts and romance quickly followed. It was helped along a little because grandma took the couch and the guest bed to the inn, forcing Vince and Kota to share the big bed.

The cactus that was given to Vince also plays a vital part in the story. After a short time, it was almost dead. But when Kota arrived and the two of them fell deeper in love, the cactus thrived with the love and magic. There is so much in this story line that the reader needs to share with the characters. Their story is beautiful and heart-felt. The characters are so amazing. I never wanted the book to end and hope the author will bring them back… perhaps a new story each Christmas? Grab your copy and enjoy all the feelings this story will bring to you. You will be glad you did!

What an amazing first read by a new author! There was so much passion and excitement with every turn of the page, mixed with a lot of explosive smut scenes! The detailed character development was executed perfectly, leaving no room for further action. All in all, this was such a heartwarming start to the holiday season!

“𝕀 𝕕𝕖𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕥𝕖𝕝𝕪 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕓𝕖𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕦𝕤”

Kota was so mentally above his age, caring and attentive to his Grandma’s feelings and a hopeless romantic at heart. He was also determined and career driven, which is unusual for his age. He’s talented, but also doesn’t realize the extent of his talents. He cares about other’s feelings, specifically Vincent, while also foolish when appropriate. Absolutely loved his character!

“𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕤 𝕟𝕠 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕚𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤 𝕠𝕣 𝕒𝕘𝕖 𝕝𝕚𝕞𝕚𝕥𝕤.”

Vincent was the grinch of the story, but was also a gentle giant with Kota. His ability to completely start a new life in a Christmas town with his history, said a lot about his character. Even with everything eh has gone through in his past, he still kept an open eye and heart, just never realized it until later. His encouragement with Kota is so heartfelt and sweet throughout the entire story, even when he was hesitant.

“ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖, 𝕀’𝕝𝕝 𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕣𝕠𝕞 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕖𝕥 𝕤𝕡𝕠𝕥.”

There was an instant spark between the characters, an explosive chemistry that was undeniable. It was more than just lust-driven sex, but an emotional connection that drove them into each other’s arms and lives. The time spent together continued to electrify their intimacy, driving their hearts into one. My emotions were completely overwhelmed within these pages, connected to these two characters just from words written.

💕Small-town holiday romance to rescue a struggling plant?!🌸

This is a good insta-attraction romance set in the run-up to Christmas in a cold and snowy Midwestern town. It's got a helping of humor, just a dollop of angst, a meddling granny, a snowy first encounter, a full plate of Christmas activities and buckets of steam.

Victor came to small Holly Hills to start over. His past is a big secret and after falling for Kota he does not want to look back. But he's tempted to reach out to past connections to help Kota develop his career and that brings a mini tempest in its wake.

The backstage star of this story is a neglected Christmas cactus that needs some TLC, romance and Christmas magic in the air to flourish. Victor and Kota take up the challenge and don't shy away from getting way close and personal at every opportunity with their cactus as a welcome witness. Weird but cute😉.

I think the story would have been just as good with less steam but that's just my personal preference. If you are looking for a story with both romance and lots of MM heat, this book has it all.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is a cute and fluffy Christmas story. It will put you in the holiday mood. This is the story of Dakota Scott and Vince Carter. Dakota is returning to his grandmothers town to help her with her B&B. He is under the impression that she is not doing well and needs the help. Since Dakota just lost his boyfriend, his apartment and job; he has lots of time to help the grandma that he loves. Driving through into a snow storm, Dakota ends up needing a tow. He just figures it is one more thing on his pile of unlucky happenings. Enter Vince. Vince teaches a few art classes a week and helps around the B&B to earn his keep. He is not a big Christmas fan. But you know what they say, never say never. Vince rescues Dakota and they end up staying in the same cabin. Thanks to a matchmaking employer/grandma, they must share a bed as their is not longer any other bed or couch in the cabin. This is the their story. It has a few bumps along the way but they end up where they were meant to be. This book is well written and easy to read. You will devour it in one sitting. A great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

This is a sweet, romantic and entertaining story. Vince is a well known art critic who landed in Holly Hills after a scandal. He's been happy just giving art lessons and doing some handyman work. Kota grandmother owns the inn in Holly Hills, and had begged him to come for Christmas. It was going to be a short visit, until he lost his job, his apartment and his boyfriend. Kota had to stay with Vince in the cottage near the inn, because a storm brought a bunch of people to the inn to shelter at. It doesn't take long for Kota and Vince to get together, agreeing to have a holiday fling. But grandma has different plans, And a plant plays a part in teaching Vince that the magic of love and Christmas is real. This is almost a romantic comedy, but very sweet and it brings a smile with a few laughs.

**ARC Review**

A lovely and steamy age/gap romance. Kota and Vince were really a good match up. From their first meeting, the snowstorm, forced proximity in a cabin, Kota's grandmother playing matchmaker...the instant attraction that went from playful to straight up scorching HOT and their budding relationship, this book was all around entertaining...full of Christmas "magic". Of course there was a big secret that blew up which from the get go I knew was gonna be an issue later...just was waiting around til the shoe drop and when it did, I felt things went like it should be between grown reasonable adults that were willing and want to make things work...well that's all the angsty/drama you gonna get because everything else was sweet, fun and lovely. Nice ending and a very nice holiday read.

Holly Hills Christmas is a light and fluffy, make you feel good, close proximity, age gap, insta-love, steamy holiday story about Dakota, who has ventured to Holly Hills to help his grandmother, Mary Joy, and Vince, who ended up in Holly Hills after leaving the big city and his life there to start over in the small town. After getting stuck in a snow storm and being rescued by Vince, Kota finds himself sharing his grandmother's guesthouse with Vince. I really enjoyed this book. There's love and Christmas magic in this small town that can't be denied. If you enjoy holiday stories you don't want to miss this one.

Datoka lost his job and home so when his grandmother wrote and told him that she was feeling like she might not make it so he went to her for Christmas. His car slid off the road and Vince found him and took him back to his place,, then grandmother didn’t have room for him at the B&B. She said that they had to share the cottage at least until Dakota decides to leave for the city. Dakota talked Vince having a holiday fling and Vince talked him into trying to sell the pieces that Dakota painted. Things have a way of working out. Great book!
