This is the third, and most challenging book about interviews that I have read this weekend.

I just spent four hours walking through the streets of York reading interview questions and thinking up answers to them. On one level, it's really interesting to do that because it really teaches me things about myself and about memory that… oh, who am I trying to kid - I'm reading these books because I have to because I have to attend a couple of interviews and if I wasn't, then I wouldn't put myself through this - period.

Having said that, I'm glad that the other two books were lightweight (so I could get through them quickly) and that this, even though it's heavy stuff, is at least interesting (so that I can be entertained as I read through it slowly).

When I think about the interviews I went through in the past and the fool I must have seemed as I stumbled through the questions and answers without knowing squat about the science behind it all, it makes me wonder how I managed to get any job at all.

If you are wanting to get a job, or a better job - read this book first - and really read it - and really think about what your answers would be to the questions here - and then read it again - and keep thinking about what you're going to say in that interview, right up to the point where you get your dream job.

I just wish I'd read this book sooner.

I read one of the first editions of this book several years ago, and found it useful but intimidating. This edition of the book is organized to take you through the entire job search process, from putting together a CV and cover letter, to where to search for openings and how to network effectively, all the way to preparing for interviews and negotiating an offer.

I found the book comprehensive and full of useful information in every chapter. According to the author, most of us will be looking at nearly 12 job changes throughout our working careers, and possibly 3 career changes. This book will be a useful read for any working professional, not just those currently looking for a change.

This is a really great book for those just starting out in their career, changing careers or for those who have been out of the job hunting game for a few years. For myself, I was a little of all three, wanting to change my career in a completely new field after many years in the same job. There will be some people who are completely confident in their ability to land a new job and won’t find this helpful, however interviews for me, are anxiety producing.
I wished I had found this sooner in my life.

This book started off slowly but the end chapters held the Q&A portion.

a lot of it was very basic and could've been condensed but overall helpful for setting the mood for successful job applications. the Target Job Description section was amazing, I'd say just skip to this section for anyone who wants to read it. after reading this I secured a really good job that I love and I think the TJD was the reason they reviewed my application - worth sifting through for sure.

A book to help you prepare for an interview. As most of the books of these type, they dont really say anything you dont know, but offer a systematic and collected way to help with a problem. This book is about job searching and interview preparing and it does just that. It was useful for the bit long period I was looking for a job and to cover up the gap I had in my cv.

A very interesting and resourceful book for anyone in a job hunt.

The author tackles some of the tough questions to answer and also on the salary negotiation process. I’ve learnt to name a range, and negotiate from there.

The book also handles questions and scenarios that fresh graduates face often, which is something one doesn’t expect from an interviewing book.

Overall great read!

If you are in the job market this book is a must. All the tricky questions that are asked in interviews are here - with good stock replies. Questions to look out for and how to reply. And most of all the famous question: Is there anything you would like to ask us:...........yes they are in here too. My daughter used one from here - she got the job and they said that her question was very interesting!

invaluable job seeking tool. a great one stop shop from the starting point of creating your CV to answering those really tough interview questions, and sealing the deal. i highly recommend anyone going for a new job, or even negotiating new terms in their existing role, to give this book a read. it will calm your nerves and help you see things in a new light.

This book really helped me create a pretty good cv, it helps you decide the relevant things to include and a good looking structure for easy reading by the employer, though it does take some time getting through, it sets a good foundation for the start of a cv.
