Mason Black is hurting. He’s lost his daughter because of a madman. He’s lost his wife because of the dangerous life he leads. He’s lost his best friend because he thinks he should have done more to help save his daughter. Then he’s contacted by a man desperate for help following the bombing of a tourist boat. Adam Nicholls certainly puts Mason Black through a lot in this book, both mentally and physically. What results is an addictive book that takes you into some violent tension filled moments and leaves you asking just how Mason can win this time. He’s facing off against a twisted bomber that has an agenda of his own and who doesn’t care who gets caught up in his evil plans. The problem for Mason Black is he’s always a step or two behind meaning he gets an up close view of the aftermath. This author is a personal favourite and for good reason when he gives his readers books like this. I really couldn’t put it down. It starts off hard and fast and just keeps going with the short punchy chapters tempting you into ‘just one more’. Brilliantly written and thrill packed from start to finish. A great addition to this awesome series.

Alone with Anger

Mason Black returns, a man beaten down and alone with his anger. Having lost his daughter Amy at the hand of the Friday Killer, Black is mired in hate and anger. His inability to reset or move forward has now contributed to the loss of his wife, Diane, and son MJ. Who cam he blame? Certainly the killer, but his ire also falls upon his longtime friend, Bill. A detective with the local department, Bill had followed protocol and was not with Mason when Amy was killed.

Drowning in his grief, Mason grasps at a seemingly innocuous case when approached. The case quickly explodes (pun intended) as the Educator targets seemingly random locations.

As the case develops, local police are joined by the FBI, who seem to know information they are not willing to share with a lowly PI. Joined by the reemergence of his sister , Mason attempts to unravel the killer's motive and targets, but will they succeed? And just what is Mason willing to sacrifice for the case? Is anything too much?

Mason Black is back in the 5th book in the exciting series and his sister, Evie, is back to help him solve the case. The madman dubbed the Educator is blowing up buildings all over the city. His vendetta is against the FBI. The clock is ticking as Mason and Evie chase him down. At the same time, Mason is dealing with marital issues. Can he catch the Educator and ,also, save his marriage before it’s too late. This is an action packed thriller full of danger and suspense. There’s never a dull moment. This is a very addictive series and I highly recommended it if you like non-stop thrills. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*

Mason Black, a private investigator, was down to one child after losing his daughter a few months ago on a case. Instead of sitting at home blaming himself and wanting his wife back, Mason decides to work another case: the hunt for a terrorist.
It all began with an explosion at Alcatraz that killed hundreds, including the wife and kid of a grieving man, who was the target of a madman known as The Educator. Mason’s journey is littered with random explosions on this case.

This was a milder, slower read, but still with an equally exciting hunt. A good read!

Family is everything, until they start dying

A riveting story of restrict for no reason. At least one you have to keep reading to find out why. Taking innocent lives because you can is not the answer because you are miserable.

Oh my goodness - what a fast paced and totally gripping story this was in the brilliant and ‘unputdownable’ Mason Black Series.

Mason has left the SFPD and is now building his business as a Private investigator when a man walks into his office with a case that will challenge his resolve to avoid dangerous cases.

However, this case will once again mean he must risk life and limb in an attempt to save the man and his family from a violent killer, known as The Educator, who is set on revenge. The reasoning behind his violent quest is as yet unclear. He doesn’t care whether innocents die in the process. To say more would be to spoil the story. Suffice to say that, as always, the author will have you reading into the wee small hours.
