I loved this volume. I don’t want to give away more. I can’t really say more without giving away more. All I can do is sit here in shock from the ending. I know, this is Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, but this author pulls such amazing turns on us. He gives such thought to every situation and to the feelings or lack of feelings that each character harbors. It is really quite intense and I really loved this volume. The translation is well done and I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I'm only giving this 4 stars just because it's not as adventurous as past volumes, and the split perspectives led to some characters getting coverage who had more or less interesting things going on plot wise.
There is some time skip early. Not a huge amount of time, but they basically explain away characters leaving the group, build up Setora's part in the party a bit, and explain the new Weps and armor for Yume and Kuzaku (samurai swords, shield + helm for Kuzaku).
This one introduces one new major piece of lore, the children of the No Life King's monsters (mostly goblins) that were born from human x goblin relations. I believe there name was Gumos?
Besides that we meet an interesting male character who seems like he could push the "why are we here, how do we get back, regaining our memories" Isekai plot a bit. Of course, if he dies, then that goes out the window. It really could just be a tease.
Ranta is still in their heads, but no so much in the story yet.
It ends with a cliffhanger, so you'll probably want to grab this one and 11 at the same time so you can just jump in to the next volume. Overall, decent action, some interesting theories presented on what this world is and why they're there, and a small but important piece of worldbuilding.
Short and tragic with the main focus on.......nothing
Was good but honestly does not push the story along once. It starts questions but never gives answers to them and when a major group dynamic happens it happens in the very last page with a cliffhanger. you get different points of view with each character but for some reason none of them really describes what they are feeling right now other than i wander how this other person feels. If I was in a town held hostage i would be scared or worried how weak i am and try to get better but nope just i may or may not have feelings because drama. They only memorable moment for me is well two points in the story. Conversation about japan and kazaku new budding romance.
To be honest the writer barely gives them any growth rate or character development. Or at least a good one. This volume was terrible up until the end where it got really freakin good and you had to ruin it with that ending... I’m getting tired of seeing you waste 80% of the volume developing characters that won’t appear again and leave the main characters undeveloped.
While it's not great, I like this series. Unfortunately this book seemed to end right in the middle of a fight scene. It feels like an incomplete book, but of course you are charged the full price. I'll probably purchase the next one, but if this happens again, then I'll just dump the series.
The story didn't move too much in this volume, the characters are a little bit more develop in a good way. The cliffhanger at the end was really mean. I think the next volume will decide if is worth to continue reading or not this serie.
Firstly, I’m glad Ranta is gone. Secondly, I hate the psycho apes, they are relentless. Also, what the heck is Jessie? Finally, Merry better not die. Also, she might as well die since either Setora or Mimorin is going to kill her for having feelings for Haru.
