This new fourth edition of integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, by M. D. Roblyer, provides hands-on practice with technology tools to illustrate how to integrate technology into the curriculum to support and shape learning. The author's five-part Technology Integration Planning Model (TIP Model) shows teachers how to create an environment in which technology can effectively enhance learning. For this fourth edition, the author has developed a cohesive, comprehensive technology integration framework that builds on the strong research, the TIP Model, and the numerous integration strategies of previous editions.
This book lacks so much....I don't know where to begin.
It is incredibly challenging to read. It reads as if the authors wrote whatever came to mind without any sense of editing or supervision. The thousands of terms/vocabulary words they just magician-ed out of nowhere was so unnecessary and confusing. I pray someone comes up with a different book than this soon, my heart goes out to the future students who will have to endure this.
The chapter summary notes do not include what page you can go back to locate the full text of the highlighted material. The questions are in a very odd format, some bullet points will include a single question, some will include several. The book could actually serve a purpose if it wasn't bogged down in hundreds of pages of unnecessary text. I do not recommend it at all.
I read this book for research while writing my masters project. I found it to be very helpful and useful in organizing my thoughts. It gives lists of resources per educational area (free and not-so-free). If you are looking for something with ready-made lessons, then you may be disappointed. With such an enormous topic as ICT in education, there is no way to find a "go to" source. Nevertheless, I feel like this book did a good job.
This is a great book for anyone who doesn't know what this new-fangled "email" or "blog" stuff is. Otherwise it's a very, very basic primer on using technological tools in the classroom.
This is a very helpful book for helping teachers know how to integrate technology into the classroom effectively. Lots of vivid examples and videos from the book.
