THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE HELL IS TO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO WALK OUT THE OTHER SIDE.

Annora risked everything to save her mates, exposing her deepest secrets, and now she must face the consequences when her past catches up with her. To protect her mates, she makes a deal with the devil himself. The only problem—it could cost her soul.

Suspended from university, she and her mates are forced to leave its protective walls, dodging hunters and assassins every step of the way. As she trains to master her magic, she learns more about her mates, and discovers she isn’t the only one hiding from their past…secrets that threaten to destroy their fragile bond.

They need to run from many dangerous situations, she fights with the trоlls, then saves Xander from his mum, then watches as her father tries to destroy her.
All is well though and a happy end is provided. It did seem more like a quick tie-up of any loose ends but it left me feeling incomplete due to the lack of serious relationship building. Their one on one time was always done in a hurry with only a few minutes to spare and I was left wanting for something more. After three books I deserved some good smexy time with more partners at least?
And all those people that end up following her what will happen with them, what was their purpose? Other than filling some space in the book?

Unsatisfactory for a last book.

Book starts with information that Annora is suspended from University and given a list of why. Literally informed and given a list.
Somehow and for some unfathomable reason our Mc pack travels with unknown wolves who never gain face of personalities and are basically uninvolved in story. We meet Masons "family", get very vague information on trolls, some fight to win Mason and on the way again. One very short, very unimportant meeting with a representative from Camdens " family " that ends with zero extra information on his background and did not get him released from his shackles. Another extra quick meeting with Xaviers family to release him and then to sort out Annoras family.

This story felt like author was going through a checklist to free all guys from their families and because it was executed so rapidly and easily, it left a feeling that it was just conveniently sped through. Even the Phantom realm was a dissapointment. I didn't get a feeling of what it really was or how it existed apart from some description on Central city. Guess, I was supposed to use my own imagination. Even the climax was anticlimactic. How did the guys got through the wards? Why is Annora so immensely powerful, yet never powerful when it is needed? What became of the thinning veil between afterworld and real world, how will it be fixed? What does balance in the world should be exactly? The ending was way too rushed and HEA showed down a readers throat. Yes, some answers were given, but so many more was left unanswered. What about Logans family? How could Perm do what he did once in afterworld and he never did that when danger was more real?

I honestly believe that author tried too hard on this story. Story didn't flow and felt really forced. Dissapointing.

This was such a disappointing ending. Too much got crammed into 300 pages. After meeting and battling 3 of the guys families for them only 10-15% was left for the show down between our heroine and her father. Yes, between 30-45 pages is all it took for our heroine to be presented as an heir, broker a deal between Phantoms and Reapers, protect her mates, and kill her father.

If the author couldn’t have devoted the proper time to the main battle/protagonist then she either should have cut some of the guys family stuff out OR wrote another book. As it is it looks like she was rushed and didn’t bother to fully explain the ending.

Oh…and no sexy time for Edgar 😑

The last book and I really enjoyed it. It's all speed ahead as time is running out, and she needs to complete her end of the deal to be free....but will she be free, and are her mates free? Answer is no, and she fights her mates and her own family, past, and power to find freedom for them all.
Oh, and Prem, that ferret and its antics are so awwwww inducing.

The slow burn is pretty slow, and we finally get lots more steamy smut. My favourite is Logans scene.
We meet trolls, Gryphons, armoured snakes, snotty Phantoms, and warrior reapers. After all that, our fierce FMC gets her HEA.

One gripe I have... the butterflies from the otherworld. If she makes them, how were they used by her uncle to drain those victims to make that drug. That bugs me a bit, but it's small

Enjoyed it all. The meeting and fighting the families. The steam, the love, and the discovery.

This book was the final book in the trilogy. I loved everything about it! So much action and more sexy scenes between Annora and her men. In this book, Annora has to try to get the Phantom world to accept her pack. She also goes on trying to get each of the guys packs to accept her. A huge story in these pages but so much excitement and fun. There is something for all in these books. I enjoyed the whole trilogy and would love to see a TV show or movie. I know if would be epic to make so much for the phantom world and dark matter work in a TV show or movie but done well it would be, did I say EPIC? I would read more books from this author, her writing grabs me and keeps me coming back for more.

A very clean conclusion to the series, but the latter half of the book wasn't very well paced and the final takedown was rather anticlimatic. I would have enjoyed more exposition on the new people that Annora met on the phantom island, and just more politics in general rather than a simple wham-bam goodbye evil father. Many characters seemed to be introduced to fulfill some key role in the overall plot but otherwise ignored and not developed further.

I still enjoyed the series overall though and would re-read it again.

Overall I enjoyed the series, it was well written but there were places that did not feel right. For example, in my opinion, there was a lot of guessing involved when discussing Daxion's motives. They basically created the whole case without evidence. Also I was uncomfortable with how much she did not know about the guys. You would think there should be discussions about their families when you know they are your fated mates and you willingly chose them. It took me a while to finish the book, thus I got the timeline all mixed up, so yeah, there was not much time, but still it irked me.
It had a very good plot, could have had more in terms of character growth and in general some things should have been shown and not told. Definitely recommend, unless you are as anal as I am. Then try to relax and enjoy instead of nitpicking :-)

Good series, last book needs work

This was the worst book of the three. I really liked the series but everything about this book said rushed. In the other books it would separate when there was a shift of POV, in this one it switched from one paragraph to the next and was really confusing at times. The ending also just felt rushed, like the author just wanted to wrap up the series and be done.

I know that was a lot of negative, but I would still recommend this series

The first book was great and I feel like it just slowly went down hill from there. Very slow burn, even in the second and third books.

Honestly I sped read this book. I just wanted the jist of what happened.

A pop then fizzle

Annora has her guys back together but the threats just keep increasing. The university has booted her, so they leave, too. Her dad is circling, and there's more plots afoot than what he's mentioned so far. The witches are divided - some want her teachings, some just want to own her flat out. The packs either are thankful or resent the loss of their tainted alpha. And now she's finally out in the "real world". Only...she hadn't exactly planned on camping. But the trolls have offered protection and she really wants to meet the people who treated Mason so poorly. She had some words for them...

Spoilers ahead.
This was... anticlimactic. And, really, I know it's a romance but geez does she have the worst timing for steam. Seriously. On the run? Sure, take a break and bang it out. In the enemy's home and he'll be back any minute? Sure, provide him with a hostage, aka your mates. Who're distracted because you're heating things up when you should be paying attention to the danger. And that's most of what this book seemed to be about. Plots twisting back and forth, enemies everywhere and instead of maybe setting wards or alerts or something to warn them of intruders, they decide to heat things up. Every obstacle: Mason's troll tribe, Xander's pride, Camden's armored lizard family, the rebellion, the reapers, everything - all these big bads that kept piling up were just, poof, easily fixed. Annora became, through very little effort, this perfect being who could fix everything just by being present. It was, as previously stated, anticlimactic. I think I had similar issues with her electric series: scattered plots, more steam than actual bonding, and ridiculously easy wrap ups. The second book led me to believe this one would keep building things for that big ending. There are still things unresolved, major things, and I think this is the series end. At least, I get that feeling from the epilogue and the way some things were quickly wrapped up.

My Thoughts
What an adventure?! First, yay for more love scenes. Second, everybody is getting more confortable with each other which makes me happy. The most excitement comes from meeting the families of four of the guys. It made the book feel a little chaotic, but mostly in a good way.

About the Characters
Annora is courageous and determined to protect her mates. Edgar is sweet and protective. Camden shows an incredibly sweet side. Mason is forever an adorable, sweet giant. Xander is quiet, but protective. Logan is coming along and it's nice to see him love Annora even when he's not yet himself.

Things I Liked
I love how Annora is a natural leader and just seems to collect people, bringing more colorful characters along for the ride. I also appreciate that she and her men are working better together as a group.

Thing I Didn't Like
Phantom politics are still a tad murky for me, but I understand enough to appreciate the outcome. Something else that's more a confusion than a dislike is Prem. I adore him, but what exactly is he? How powerful is he and what is he capable of?

More Thoughts
The ending of this book is satisfying, but I can't tell if there is more to come or maybe a spinoff or something. I would definitely be interested.

Does it stand alone?
Not at all. Being all about closure, the characters dive right back into necessary action right from the start.

Bottom Line
Closure is always gratifying, and this book is full of it. Hopefully we'll get some insight into happier times in more books.

When I read this book, I didn't know it was the last one, when I went to see it, it had no sequel. So much was rushed that the ending lost its grace a little.

Ghosts are very coveted but in 5 pages they got peace and everyone can now go to university.

Looks like she put it on one of her pack families just to fulfill the goal. It was sudden and didn't need to. It would have been better to develop the final fight more, if she wanted to talk about the guys' past, it could be another book.

Anyway, I didn't think this series was very good and I didn't even like the couples either. Annora and the guys kept telling each other they loved each other and all that, but I didn't see it in actions. They even looked like they didn't respect each other. I can understand Annora's reluctance to trust people, but the way couples were developed didn't give me credibility.

The final fight with Daxion was very disappointing, it seems they just put something to end. Everything seemed "easy". And many things are left unexplained.

Anyway, I managed to read the series, but it will never be one of my favorites.

Awesome!

I loved this book. So much happens, but it ties together all the loose ends from the previous books. I loved how the fmc basically grew up in front of the readers eyes. She was a tortured soul in the beginning, jumping at every little thing, not wanting to get to close to anyone due to fear of her uncle going after them. This book, shows the fmc, has no qualms about getting close the men, she finally gets some nooky, and it was a bit strange tho. The previous books hinted at her being a virgin but there wasn’t any talk of that in this book. The sex described in this book was short, page and a half if that. I figured after waiting till the 3rd book there would be more but the fmc only sleeps with a few of her men. It was hot, but short. I loved how she defeated her uncle and worked together with others to defeat her dad. I do wish there was more of a epilogue to show how things changed after taking down a prominent character within her race. Maybe this is leaving the series open for more books or a spin off? I can’t wait to read more regardless.

Couldn't love this series more!

Stacey Brutger strikes gold again.

I absolutely adore this series. Annora is a fantastic FMC. She is incredibly strong and powerful (which I love) but her openness and vulnerability make her so likeable. Brutger has the ability to create amazing characters that are so well rounded and believable.

I love that all of the men are different and distinct. The introduction to Mason was my favourite though I adored each of Annora's boys equally. Over the series we get to see the motivation and past of each member of the harem, though its really book 3 that makes everything clear.

I loved that the steam built slowly, though it was clear from the beginning that the guys wanted Annora for their own.

I wanted to scream every time Annora's uncle was mentioned. You know an author has done their job well when you want to jump into a book and torture someone!

I 100% recommend this series and desperately wish there were more books to read.

DNF @ 9%

I couldn't get into Ransomed to the World, which is really unfortunate because I remember adoring the first two books when they released. The relationship between the Heroine and Heroes didn't feel solid, and the chemistry between them felt off. Also, the world-building wasn't cohesive – what was the point of the paranormal university given the plot of the third book? I didn't have any interest in their scheming because the Heroine didn't seem to have a purpose – what were her goals? What was she trying to achieve? Also, I found it so frustrating how every big decision the Heroine made was flat-out foolhardy, yet it was always framed later on as ingenious and not what it actually was: dumb luck.

This world is great, these characters and their diversity are interesting...

The writing itself is so very very bad. I kind of feel bad giving this subbar narrator bad marks for this book because she did the best she could with what she had. But I kind of feel like she just made a bad book worse...

If you can handle constant repetition, misspellings and mispronunciations, characters with names that are so similar but it's hard to tell who's talking, weak and poor sentence structure, twisted and convoluted cycling plot points, and a harem of men read by a narrator that only has two voices... then by all means give the series a go because it is unique...

Otherwise, save yourself the headache and skip this one.

Satisfying ending

I have to say that I just love Stacey Brutger's writing. I can't quite put my finger on why her writing appeals to me so much, but starting a new series by her always feels a bit like making a new (and slightly familiar) friend. There were some parts where this dragged a bit and I felt like the final battle was rushed, but overall it was was satisfying end to the series. Though I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a follow up novella. It feels like there's a lot more story for Annora and her guys. But I'm also equally excited to dive into her new series so I'll be happy either way so long as she keeps writing.

What an ending !

It was a action packed from beginning to end, which I really enjoyed, as well as more focused on Annora's relationship with each of the guys. I liked those glimpses into what their lives were before they met Annora and I wanted more.

Things were quite fast but developed enough that I don't feel it was rushed in a bad way, even if the conclusion happened quite unexpectedly after all the build-up. I still feel that Stacey Brutger left things open enough to be able to come back to those characters in the future (and I, for one, really hope that she will ^_^).

A very good conclusion to a very original trilogy.

Phantom touched 3

After finishing this book, this trilogy, I still personally don't care for multiple mates. However I enjoyed the different ways each guy claimed Annora as their true mate. The rituals for each species is unique. I enjoyed the battles and the out come. I believe Brutger left it slighty open to where she could continue or branch off from this trilogy, even though she ended this book with "The End." Annora flourishes with her men and she makes true friends along the way. If you have read the two books prior to this read, then you'll know there is lots of schmexy times along with some pretty gory battle scenes. That's all I got. Decent book.

Action!

There is a lot of action and plot in this book. Barely any filler. Most of the plots come to a end, but there is plenty of room and (a few) subplots that can be explored in a 4th book. Personally, i’d love to see that happen. Annora’s conflict with the council ended too quickly and too vaguely, leaving me wishing that those particular scenes played out more in depth.. especially with all of that build up. All that build up for 2-5 pages of climax? Still, this book is 5/5 and I loved it!

I wanted to like this book, but I found it so hard to love. The plot is there and that’s what caused me to hold out but the third person writing was so confusing with so many characters I never knew who was talking and it was the same issues repeatedly happening. I want to have sex with you but I can’t. I want you as my mate but you must battle for me. My father wants to kill me but not quite yet. I found myself skimming more often than not and just had to call it quits and move on to something else.

I did really like this series
So much was packed into this book and it went super fast. I would have liked the series to continue as it wasn’t until this book that she was intimate with all her mates (only one in book 2)
I would have liked to know a little bit more about their relationship. The story line because of this was quite basic only barely touching on everything that had to be tied up to this last book.

It felt rushed but I’m glad I read it.
I’m not overly fond of the narrator but she was ok.

Great ending!

I was afraid that the series was going to go on to another book - I definitely think there was more than enough rabbit holes that could have been explored. But ultimately I think it wrapped up just right. The end was a little rushed, but I would prefer that over dragging it out and losing interest. I loved this world, the phantoms, and all the characters. Great writing!

It was annoying how all the guys said they wanted to wait and romance her and then they just ended up having quickies. Plus she didn't get to be with Edgar, or bond with Logan or Xander like the others.
Also the reasons of why Daxion wanted her power kept changing and were a little hard to follow. And I still don't understand how the phantoms were supposed to help keep the paranormal balance and how they turn into reapers.

Loved the whole series

I really enjoyed this series. It is not always each to switch POV and not get confused, not here I was able to follow along and loved it all. The MC is stubborn and strong willed, the torture that is described turned my stomach a bit, but also cry. I loved reading about all of the guys strengths and how they are different but make the pack whole. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Annora and the guys are on their way to try to deal with Daxion and they run into a few obstacles along the way - between dealing with the families/clans of the guys and trying to manage her powers. I loved seeing them all coming together and strengthening their bonds. I’m sad to see this series end, although there were a few things left kind of open, so maybe we will see them again

4 stars for Ransomed to the World by Stacey Brutger. This is the third and final book in A Phantom touched trilogy. Annora has saved her mates and now everything seems to be coming to an end . I do feel like the ending was a little rushed but all the questions were answered. I loved all the characters in this story and how everything came to play. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending and the whole trilogy was great.

Cute ending

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. While I thought this book dragged and it seemed the characters never listened to one another constantly throwing themselves into danger and getting mad at each other for it, it was still a good book. It was mainly focused on the action aspect with a little heat thrown in and ending with a cute hfn. All in all it was a cute series that I personally would consider more of a new adult book.
