As bodies turn up dead in ports around the Mediterranean, FBI Special Agent Adele Sharp—triple agent of the U.S., France and Germany—is the only one who can navigate the thorny jurisdiction issues between all the countries.
She is also the only one brilliant enough to enter the mind of this psychotic killer and hunt him down.
Why is he criss-crossing the Mediterranean? Why is he leaving a victim in each port? Is water his common theme? The vessels he uses? Or something else entirely?
Time is running out, and if Adele makes a wrong choice, the life of the next victim—or her own—may just depend on it.
An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, LEFT TO FEAR will leave you turning pages late into the night.

Hunting down a killer who has been hopping from ship to ship in search of his next victim, Adele's mother's killer is still yet to be captured, and Adele and John's relationship continues to grow. I love this series and I'm gonna start the next book soon. (April Easter Egg Hunt Challenge)
The DGSI/Interpol task force gets involved when young heiresses turn up dead on multiple riverboat cruises, with objects stuffed down their throats. Adele and John are sent in as partners to work the case. Meanwhile, the Spade Killer has zeroed in on his ultimate target - Adele's father.
FINALLY OR IS IT? Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021 In this outing the writer has the readers on a river boat in Germany...someone is murdering young women who also happen to be heiresses. 3 have all ready been murdered and Agent Adele Sharpe is determined there won't be a fourth. And although her partner John Renee, hates being on the water, he goes with her.
The readers get to enjoy a second plot....Adele is still searching for the man who murdered her mother. The author has skillfully woven the two stories together. Her father has been attacked by the same killer...does he survive? You will have to read the book to find out!
I am part of the advanced team but the opinion is my own and I LOVE this series. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. Mr. Pierce is an extremely prolific writer so I am sure we won't have a long wait, I highly recommend this series!!
A great story, a good plot, many interesting characters, and a difficult task in finding who and why there is a killer targeting young heiresses in cruise boats along the Danube. Adele and John go through some funny events and difficult and threatening ones to find the culprit. John is, as always, the best and the worst partner for Adeledoing exactly what he wants and not what would be best. There´s also the intertwining with the Spade killer who happens to be in the same area as the boat killer is acting and there are some very interesting developments in trying to capture him. A good plot, well written, where other sides of Adele´s, her father´s, and John´s characters are shown. I couldn´t stop reading to learn who were the culprits and how the story would end. Looking forward to the next books in the series. Really entertaining!
Blake Pierce is now taking us on a voyage, where bodies turn up dead in ports around the Mediterranean. As our heroine, FBI Special Agent Adele Sharp—triple agent of the U.S., France and Germany—is in the neighbourhood, she is the only one who can navigate the thorny jurisdiction issues between all the countries. She is also the only one brilliant enough to enter the mind of this psychotic killer and hunt them down. Why is he crisscrossing the Mediterranean? Why is he leaving a victim in each port? Is water his common theme? The vessels he uses? Or something else entirely?

It is as intriguing as the other stories, and the good thing is, Adele catches her mother's killer. It's a good read/listen.
I listened to the audiobook, which is not listed here in Goodreads. This is the 10th in the series where Adele Sharp keeps introducing herself as DGSI, and I wonder if anyone knows what she means. Again, I find fault with the reader who keeps mispronouncing common words like manifest, incongruous, a and often. She often puts the emphasis on the wrong word in a phrase, and when a character is referred to by a describing phrase (such as “ The tall Frenchman”) She sometimes reads like she is talking about another person. Since this book is the 10th in the series, I guess these are the standards that are set by this author.
Like all the books in this series so far. Only one thing really irks me: the constant reference to the tall policeman, the big, tall partner. Seems repeated too Much sometimes. Ending comes fast thru a lot of action, twists and turns. But not really ended. Thus a costly read.
Blake really out did herself. This book will keep you Turing the pages, because you just want to know, what's going to happen next. Adele Sharpe has amazing skills when catching a killer.
