Tell Me Why It's Wrong

Rate this book
I was twenty-one when I first met the sarcastic Australian rock star that took the world by storm with his witty charm.

Twenty-two when I wrote a viral tabloid article on his bandmate to pay for the medicine that I needed for life.

Twenty-three when I realized my dream job in California was destroying every moral I was raised to believe in.

Twenty-four when I accepted that I might have to give up my west coast dreams to return home and admit defeat.

And twenty-five when the lead singer of Violet Wonders comes crashing back into my life with an offer I’d be stupid to refuse.

When he asks me to marry him, I think it’s a cruel joke to get back at me for everything I put his band through. But a signed marriage certificate gets us both benefits. He gets the press off his back, and I get health insurance and a place to stay.

But the world doesn’t know the real Garrick Matthews like I do, and it’s impossible not to fall for the man behind the charade. We agree to stay together for two years before going our separate ways and never looking back.

Unfortunately for me, it only takes months before I realize I love the man who will undoubtedly break my heart when all is said and done.

”I lock up when a cold tongue drags across my cheek until a hot breath caresses my ear and one single sultry word is whispered in it. “Mine.”

For first time reading B. Celeste, i really liked this book more than I thought I would. Reading the blurb, i thought this would be a typical “marriage of convenience” book but it wasn’t it at all and I can’t say that I’m disappointed. I loved the writing style of this book and immensely enjoyed the way B. introduced her characters.

”She’s sure of who she is and what she wants, and fights for how she lives.”

Rylee Simmons is one hella strong character. I LOVE when women are portrayed strong and Rylee is the epitome of it. She has been through so much. She was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and has to make ends meet to afford her medicine by doing a job (journalist) which doesn’t really pay well. She’s only 21 but I admire her strength and her softness.

”Something tells me it’s the sharp jaw and patrician nose paired with those eyes that can make anyone turn stupid in a heartbeat. He’s a heartthrob whether he wants to be or not, molded to be everybody’s weakness.”

Garrick Matthews, 32, is a member of the band- ‘Violet Wonders’ which without saying makes him the guy girls are crazy about, want to have his babies and dream of marrying. Yes, I’m the “girls” shh. But he’s more than just what media portrays him to be. The guy can cook😭😭, clean😭😭 and loves his mom😭😭. Hellooo? I’m in love??😩 I admire his strength. He’s had a past with drugs and has now been 4 YEARS sober! I can’t imagine how much painful and a process that must be and for even trying, I love him!

”Maybe she’s finally seeing that we may be two very different people, but we’re cut from the same cloth.”

Overall, I had a great time reading this book and B. Celeste totally proved why she is one of well-loved and know authors! I can’t wait to read more by her!

There was nothing wrong with this book. It was one of the best tropes ever, marriage of convenience 🤩 so you’ll hear no complains from me.

Rylee and Garrick were great characters and I loved how the author introduced every topic, information or twist, and I even liked the slower pace of their relationship.

Although sometimes I felt like I was missing information about the rest of the characters, like I was in the middle of a series I hadn’t read in order.

“I’m curious,” I murmur, moving closer until the slightest hitch of her breath curls my lips upwards. It’s the exact sound I hoped to hear as my lips neared hers. I stop short, teasing, waiting, and when she doesn’t object, I press a featherlight kiss against lips that taste faintly of cherry Chapstick.

Humming against her lips, I praise the choice. “One of my favorite flavors.” She doesn’t need to know my absolute favorite is what I’d happily taste if she opened her legs for me.

***4 "Violet Wonders!!!" stars***

OUT NOW!!!

"Fame is a drug - it gives you a temporary high that'll leave you crashing and craving more.
But not as much as wanting a legacy does."

This was a very sweet story!!!
It was anything like I was expecting seeing the arranged marriage trope and the rockstar status of the hero, but honestly, I'm not complaining...
I enjoyed this beautiful ride that Barbara had offered me and she made me swoon over the Australian 'bad boy', even though he was anything but bad.
I just missed a little bit more angst... and the slow burn was slower than I was expecting.
Overall, it was a lovely and emotional story and you couldn't not love Rylee and Garrick.

"Marry me, love."

Rylee is in a very bad place and she is desperately for something to change her fate.
What she wassn't expecting was Garrick Matthews to tumple into her life and become her white knight in shining armor.
Fate brought them together and Garrick is determined to help this girl that he doesn't know, but that her eyes are reminding him so much!!!
So, Rylee's life is starting to change and it's about to change even more...

"To put it simply, Rylee Simmons is refreshing. She's the breath of fresh air I need right now, which is why I need her to say yes."

Honestly, I don't know what more to say...
As I told you above, this was a very sweet and heartwhelming story...
Rylee was in much need of help, love and companionship...
Garrick didn't seem the guy that could provide her exactly that, but he was determined to prove her wrong...
A beneficial marriage bound them together and even though there were standing many things between them, this 'deal' was only the beginning to their journey full of love, compassion and friendship...

"Her legs clench.
My cock hardens.
But we both pretend that this is nothing."
,/i>

I liked Rylee, even though I would preffered her to be a little bit more dynamic. She was mostly awkward and I wanted to see more of the spirit that I knew that she was having deep down inside.
As for Garrick??? OMG!!! He was a dreamy man!!! He was a bad boy rockstar with a heart of gold. Literally! This boy deserved the world since he was an unbelievable person, even though the tabloids were throwing mud at him all the darn time...
These two were fitting together, but I was missing the sparkle that could turn them into inferno...

"I don't want to be her friend.
I want to be more.
I married her for Christ's sake."

And of course, I would love to see more of the secondary characters...
I was intrigued by almost all the rest of the members of the band, especially Zayne. And I'm sooo curious about Garrick's brother.
This was a lovely story that had its way to sneak inside your heart!!!

"You’re Garrick Matthews, you can get anything you want.”
There’s something in his eyes I can’t figure out as he looks over at one of my eyes, then the other, and trails down to my lips. It’s a moment or two before the heat simmers in his blue gaze and he murmurs, “Not everything.”

Tell Me Why It’s Wrong is Garrick and Rylee’s story and I absolutely enjoyed it. Both characters were interesting and I loved the moments they spent together throughout the book.

The trope really caught my attention. I liked the way the author incorporated it into the story and it made me enjoy the characters even more. It’s a light-hearted story that makes the chemistry flow so easily between Garrick and Rylee. They’re both characters that have great characteristics. Garrick’s character really surprised me in the best way. It was interesting to read his thoughts about what was happening in his life. Also Rylee’s character was everything!!! She’s soft yet strong and I admired so much from her.

B. Celeste did an amazing job in capturing the story between Garrick and Rylee. Not only as a couple but even as individuals. Whether it’s the struggles they faced, it only made them stronger each time.

If I see marriage of convenience in a synopsis, I immediately add it to my tbr. This was a light hearted read and I wish it had more angst! I wanted more time with the characters together - there was too much telling, not enough showing and it took away from the story. I didn’t feel any real connection between Garrick and Rylee because of this.

There's a reason why B is one of my favorite authors of all time, and when she announced that she was writing a marriage of convenience, rockstar romance I was ALL here for it. Especially since Garrick stole my heart in the first book, so i couldn't wait to be swept away by him in his own story. Now while this has all the elements of an amazing love story, I really appreciated the low level of angst here. Usually B writes all of her books with angst coming out of her ears, which I absolutely adore (I'm a masochist, whatcha gonna do💁) I loved the light hearted route this book took. There's still some drama and miscommunication, but that's more with the band than the actual relationship between Garrick and Rylee. I just loved it!

So Garrick and Rylee are in a predicament: she can't afford the treatment for her illness, and since she's currently living in her car, her options are very limited. She works as a celebrity reporter, so Garrick sees this as an opportunity to help his band and the woman he's infatuated with... until real feelings come into play on a very fake marriage. With Rylee's determination to stay as independent as possible, these two had countless uphill battles on their hand, even though Rylee loved him. She just couldn't seem to let him all the way in at times, which hurt my heart since Garrick absolutely deserves the world. Though at the same time, Rylee didn't act thay way out of malice, that was just all she's ever known. And I LOVED seeing Garrick being out the softer side of her!

This is definitely a must read for fans of this trope and for fans of B! Her books just keep getting better and better!

I love B celeste’s writing cuz its always so realistic and emotional. Tell me why its wrong was a light hearted rockstar arranged marriage book. I loveee lovee rockstar romance and in this book our heroine Rylee is a journalist who has been struggling with her career and Garrick, the rockstar who tries to help Rylee but later on they agree to an arrangement where they marry each other so the public ll focus on them except of Garrick’s band mate Zayne and also Rylee ll get a story to publish. I liked the plot and both of the characters. They were very genuine and honest, especially Rylee. She did something against Garrick and his band but owned up to her mistake, she didnt make excuses. I liked her character a lot, there were no extra drama or anything else. A journey of Garrick and Rylee falling in love. Its amazing how the author always writes realistic romance where they dont lust over each other throughout the whole book rather try to know each other and slowly fall in love. I enjoyed reading this book! Garrick is amazing as well, he is understanding and tries to help Rylee in her career. I hope Chase and Zayne get a book cuz they were amazing side characters as well and i wanna read their story so badd.

Ahh finally my favourite Aussie!!!

This book was everything. After reading tell me when it’s over, I knew that Garrick’s character had so much potential. B. Celeste did not disappoint.

This book is a marriage of convenience that sparks after Garrick sees Ryle struggling. Garrick is unbelievably sweet and and kind to everyone around. It’s literally impossible not to love him.

One thing about this book that I loved, was the backstory of all the side characters, especially the band members of Violet Wonders. Seeing their friendship struggle was hard and I felt like I was apart of it. I’m also really really hoping Garrick’s brother Chase and his friend Zane get their book because I need more of their story.

I’ve never not enjoyed a book by B. Celeste, and this one if no different. The story was set at the perfect pace and she really did Garrick justice. I also highly appreciated the accurate Aussie slang. Her writing was also phenomenal and I can’t wait to read more from her.

Tell Me Why It's Wrong is Garrick Matthews story from Violet Wonders. We meet Garrick in Tell Me When It's Over and he's very much our cocky, sarcastic, Aussie play boy. We see a different side to him in this one with Rylee.

My favourite part of Celeste's books is that it's very realistic romance. Brutally so sometimes. But you wind up loving it more because of that. Rylee is headstrong and stubborn as a bull. But she's shit out of luck and she's been dealt a pretty rough hand. Does she sit and wallow in it? Heck no. She picks her little butt up and faces her struggles head on, even if that means swallowing her pride every now and then. She's a little firecracker with a dry sense of humour but extremely driven and ambitious.

Garrick is a smooth talker and quite the charmer but he grows a soft spot for Rylee. Wanting to help her as well as use her to help himself somewhat, in the beginning anyway, I loved growth and development of his character. He's flawed. Just as flawed as Rylee and he's not afraid to admit it or own up to his past mistakes. His many, many past mistakes.

It's a B book, so of course, you can expect heaps of angst and a slow burn that'll leave an ache although this book is slightly faster paced than her usual works. I love the feels and genuine chemistry between Garrick and Rylee. Their interactions were 🔥 and their banter was so much fun.

A host of characters I can't wait to read more of but I need Chases' book like I need air!

Definitely recommend if you like rockstar romance or marriage of convenience or both 💜

Tell me why it’s wrong was a sweet hearted romance. I liked the fact that their wasn’t much drama in this story even though I wish their was more time where the characters were together. I felt their was to much telling rather than showing. Which made it hard to completely connected with Garrick and Rylee.
I also felt Rylee was a bit of a prude. That too made it hard for me to like her at times.

I couldn’t get even of Garrick he was sweet and funny all wrapped up in one. Definitely was a smooth talker and big flirt, which I loved!

Garrick had a heart of gold when it came to the people he loved and cared for. Honestly his character was what made this book so enjoyable.

Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Audiobook Review: Nathaniel Black was awesome and his Australian accent was smokin hot! Sofia Willingham did a great job too and I enjoyed both narrators.

I would give this book 4.2 stars.

This book had many things in it. I felt so many things while reading it, there was friendship, there was family and what love they share but also the bittersweet truth of being in the industry or friendship in general. I loved Garrick and his easygoing nature & his loving behaviour. I loved his personality but I also loved his somewhat you can dark side or angry side.
Rylee was just everything sweet, innocent, beautiful, lovely, strong-headed and stubborn also lol. But still, she was a sweetheart.
I was in on the story at 20% and I was like "OH S**" yup Because getting in on some of the secrets will do that to you.
Garrick friendship with his band-mates was very nice to read and his relationship with his family ( I can't tell you more without spoiling it and NO SPOILERS ).

“𝘐 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘰𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.”

"Oh f***," that's the only one word left my mouth after reading this whole chapter and especially this line, gosh I can't express if my heart was breaking or melting for Garrick & Rylee. This whole story makes me feel so many emotions it makes me laugh it makes me feel sad, happy and so much more.

And Zayne I always thought there were more to him than just being a friend & oh how much intrigue I'm with his story.
If we'll get it, what's going to be who's going to be his "THE ONE". I can just feel the alpha male vibes coming from him. And I loved his & Rylee equation before everything ( you know what I m talking about *secret wink* ). But at 46% in the book god how much my heart hurts for Garrick & Zayne *crying*, it was heart-recking to see that and everything (YK). I just couldn't get angry with any one of them because both were right in their places or wrong I can say somewhere *teary eyes*.

But let's get back to Garrick, ughh I loved his kindness, his warmth towards everything, his love towards his loved ones. I have never seen more alpha male with such a 'softie' personality & it was so good. Rylee just win me over with her nature & l for the first time actually liked both the characters equally and didn't hate the one internally partially and that's saying SOMETHING. Because it happens rarely Lmao but it's true. But poor Rylee tho people can be so cruel and judgemental sometimes.

𝘚𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳.
𝘚𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺.
𝘐𝘵’𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵.

I liked Garrick's mom well it was mixed feelings for me more in the starting but I mostly liked her because she was not like most mom's of hero is in many books...I liked her sassy, strict, protective nature she was sometimes too much too lmao but still yay for her.

"Oh f***" that's the second time I said this because Chase is just incredible LMAOO I was 58% in the book & I couldn't stop laughing .. this book makes me want to laugh out loud I couldn't stop laughing after reading that scene and so many scenes, some were cliché but so refreshing and making me laugh out loud which happens rarely. No revealing anymore but your heart is going to melt but also break at points in the book.

Overall this book was the combination of a full package of amazing book & a really good read.

‘the real measure of our wealth is how much we’d be worth if we lost it all.’

Tell Me Why It’s Wrong by B. Celeste is a new adult marriage of convenience rockstar romance that is told from duel POVs. Whilst this is a stand alone the MMC Garrick does make a brief appearance in Tell Me When It’s Over.

In this book we meet Garrick Matthews and Rylee Simmons.

Rylee is a tabloid writer who has an autoimmune disease and recently got evicted from her apartment. She has limited money and no health insurance to treat her chronic condition. That is until one day she bumps into rockstar Garrick Matthews.

Garrick is the Australian lead singer of the band Violet Wonders. His sarcastic, flirtatious funny and charming. He has the means and money to be able to help Rylee with her situation and she’s able to help him change his image, so he makes her an offer she can’t refuse.

I really, really enjoyed this book ! Which surprised me considering I’ve always been a little apprehensive about reading a marriage of convenience romance, but I think this book may have converted me.

I loved that it was a faster paced and more light hearted book compared to the previous I’ve read by B. Celeste but still just as enjoyable. It had relatable characters - especially for those of us with chronic illnesses - that will have you laughing out loud and swooning. I loved the level of chemistry between the two MCs, their sexual tension and how easily their relationship developed. I also couldn’t get enough of the supporting characters - especially Garrick’s younger brother Chase (I really hope he and a couple of the other supporting characters get their own book one day).

Overall I had a great time reading this book and can’t wait to see what more she has in store for us !

Thank you to B. Celeste for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The first chapter got me out of my reading slump. By the second chapter, I was absolutely and completely hooked.

Your favorite Aussie is back and better than ever! In this marriage of convenience, rockstar romance, we meet Garrick Matthews and Rylee Simmons. Rylee is a strong, independent, struggling journalist with an autoimmune and inflammatory disease. Garrick is the lead singer of Violet Wonders, with a history of addiction, who knows how to cook and clean. When they meet unexpectedly, Garrick’s past creates this impulse in him to help Rylee with her current situation. And with a chance to better both of their circumstances, well, you can go read where things go from there.

From brother’s best friend to marriage of convenience, to tearjerkers and lighthearted romances, I’m not sure there is a trope out there author B. Celeste cannot deliver on. To be honest, I was not sure about the marriage of convenience plot line, as I have not given it a chance before. But, now, I am so glad I did.
5 out of 5, recommend.

Latest book from B. Celeste was definitely a very enjoyable and good read. I like her writing style and I liked how she managed to tell a story that was realistic and a fairytale at the same time. Fairytale due to our main man Garrick, heartthrob rockstar extraordinaire straight out of your dreams who was “locked down” by your everyday Cinderella aka proud introverted reporter Rylee, even if only via this secret marriage of convenience.
But, that were the fairytale part ends, just in a superficial description of the MCs, because on the inside their relationship is so much more down to earth. They each battle real life problems, there no unnecessary drama added, and in true B. Celeste form, it’s grounded deeply into reality. I love the fact that this author brings this type of drama instead of the usual miscommunication issues and hiding behind imaginary what ifs.
So, another thumbs up and I would definitely recommend this book. It deserves all the stars 🌟

Whenever I find out that Ms.Celeste is releasing a new book I cannot contain my excitement! I always look forward to more of her words. As soon as this one was announced it became one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I loved it!

Garrick and Rylee's journey had a uniqueness to it that I couldn't get enough of. I really enjoyed the realness that poured from each of these characters and how both of them touched my heart.

With Tell Me Why It's Wrong, Ms.Celeste has created an original read with her writing hitting my heart like when you hear your favorite song for the very first time! She captures emotions in such a way that gets to me every single time. I can't wait for more of her books and I definitely can't wait to go read Tell Me When It's Over next! 💜

Tell Me Why It's Wrong is different from what I am used to read from B. Celeste. It's less angsty and more lighthearted read. Rockstar romance and fake marriage trope came together in this swoony story where you get a rockstar with golden heart and a reporter with iron spine!

Violen Wonders' lead star Garrick Matthews is a reformed bad boy. After struggling with his addiction and reckless choices for years, he has found a stable life. But his reputation haunts him and his band is falling apart because of his bandmate Zayn's indecision. And then he meets Rylee. She has a medical issue and she is in trouble financially because writing for gossip magazine doesn't give enough money. Garrick wants to help her and his public image and that's when the idea of fake marriage comes. But Rylee has a past with the band and Garrick has his own issues.

I loved Garrick and Rylee. Garrick has left behind his sex, drug and rock& roll days behind. And who can resist a man who loves his family, can cook, can sew and every element of a soft yet sexy gentleman? He is so caring and protective! He had his demons and he made his mistakes but this Garrick is something else. In fact, sometimes I feel he was too nice. He proposed the marriage without knowing Rylee fully and after knowing her profession and her history with the band. I expected him to push her away or step back a bit. He went all in. Though Rylee is an amazing woman. Strong. Smart. Her medical issues can be difficult but she is adamant to be independent and self sufficient and never to be another person's burden. She never took advantage of Garrick's genuine kindness and always stayed true to her heart. What started as a fake marriage becomes true friendship and then true love. It was an interesting journey but nothing like B. Celeste's angst fest when you feel like dying. Drama about the band and their own conflicts took a big part of the story and the conclusion felt a bit rushed to me. It was progressing as a slow burn and then almost suddenly they are expressing their feelings. A lot of characters were involved and sometimes I was losing touch with the main characters.

If you are in search of a swoony and emotional rockstar fake marriage romance, Tell Me Why It's Wrong by B. Celeste is for you.

I love B. Celeste. I have not read a book of hers that I haven’t loved. Tell Me Why It’s Wrong is another in a long line of B. Celeste book perfection!

Garrick Matthews is the boy that every girl sings along with on the radio and fantasizes growing up and marrying. Or at least having a hot one-nighter. He’s the man you imagine your future husband to look like, your first-born son will be named after him and you might even, maybe try to make sure they share the same birthday. But of course, this is all a dream. A fantasy. Chances are you’ll never actually ever meet him, let alone get close enough to marry the man! Unless you’re lucky Rylee!

But really, Rylee isn’t so lucky after all. She’s just trying to earn a living in an industry that is pretty vile. Really to pay for prescriptions that she has to have to survive and with no insurance in America, (well let’s face it, even with insurance, some prescriptions are still insanely expensive), well, you almost have to sell your soul to the devil to survive. And she kinda has. But then comes along this knight in shining armor and what’s a girl supposed to do?

I really loved this story! I loved how Rylee never gave up, though she could have. I wasn’t particularly fond of the job she chose, but I also applaud her for doing what she had to do to keep going rather than giving up! I loved that she knew she had support and family she could go to but wanted to keep going on her own. I found her unwillingness to go to her family in her time of need a little short-sighted, but I do get the whole independence thing.

Garrick has come from the bottom and come out on top and just wants to be needed. And when he finds a damsel in distress and comes up with a solution that can help them both, well, what’s a guy supposed to do? I freaking love Garrick - he’s probably my favorite B. Celeste character to date. He’s a rock God and he’s humble AF, loves his mom, and his brother and his band mates. He’s a fantasy. Probably why I love him so much. Exactly what I grew up singing along on the radio to, would have had a one night stand with, would have named my first-born son after (I only had a daughter), and I tried really hard to give them the same birthday anyway.

So what I’m saying is you’ve gotta read this book! And I’m really hoping for Chase’s book, Zayne’s book AND Manning & Cal’s.

“I lock up when a cold tongue drags across my cheek until a hot breath caresses my ear and one single sultry word is whispered in it. “Mine.”

Ermahgerd! I FREAKIN’ ADORE THESE TWO!

They were so perfect together!

B. Celeste showcases a lighter, sweet side to her storytelling with Tell Me Why It’s Wrong. Don’t worry, though — the beautiful writing and heart-pulling feels are still very much there.

My heart officially belongs to an Aussie rockstar by the name of Garrick Matthews. There was a single thing I didn’t love about his character. Definitely one of Celeste’s swooniest leading men yet!

And Rylee was a fierce fighter — someone who was built on determination in everything thing she did.

If you’re looking for a lighthearted read, then maybe give this one a try! I enjoyed it immensely!

Also, rockstar romances isn’t a trope I normally gravitate toward, but Celeste’s “Tell Me” Series has been winning me over.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Arc provided for an honest review.

This is not my first book from B but this is the first one that I reviewed and on top on that it's an arc ? So happy! When you read B you have to know a few things: first automatically your heart is going to get broken, you're going to ask yourself a lot of questions and you will love her writing and books so much. But at the end everything is worth it.

This marriage of convenience slow burn romance was extra beautiful. I was not expecting anything of what I read, I didn't know I would enjoy, adore and admire this story and the characters themselves so much. It was the perfect combination of a love story. When I first started reading, I was super scared to finish it but I'm so glad I did because it was a glorious experience for me.

Rylee is just an extraordinary protagonist that you're going to love. She's struggling a lot and she's working for a company that she hate so much (I know the feeling really well so I can tell you this is the worse), plus her parents. Rylee is going through so much during the book and she is probably one of the most strong female character that I read (yay to that because we love warrior) and you will also find yourself connected to her during all the book. You will absolutely adore her, and her "redemption" is simply amazing.

Garrick oh gosh my sweet Garrick. This man is the definition of "deserved better" and every romance novels should have a character like him. He's totally brilliant and so talented but he also bring so much to this book and to the storyline itself. And the fact that he's fighting daily against his drug problems says a lot about his strength. I can only imagine the pain it was for him but this baby is a real fighter and I'm so proud of him. Also can we talk about the fact that he can cook??? Sign me up big boy!!

They both need something and the way they found each others thought this fake marriage relationship was the cherry on top! I love marriage of convenience and slow burn and it was everything you need to read. It was powerful, sensational, sensual, and a roller coaster of emotions that you're not ready. This book is clearly one of the book that even that you read it, you will not forget the protagonists and the storyline. The writing of B Celeste is another level al always and it bring me so much pleasure, this book was just a pure beauty and you will definitely not be disappointed or be ready!

TELL ME WHY IT'S WRONG
BY: B. CELESTE

5 STARS

BLURB: Rylee Simmons is a 25 year old woman working a job as a tabloid journalist in California. She has psoriatic arthritis, no health insurance, and ends up living in her car because she can't afford rent and her medication on her income. Garrick Matthews is 32 and the lead singer of Violet Wonders. He's a recovering addict with a sweet spot for his family and the people he cares about. The media focuses on his band, which is speculated to be breaking up, and his former drug addiction. He meets Rylee and offers to marry her to help her get on his health insurance and back on her feet while giving the media something else to focus on besides his band.

I was highly anticipating this release and was not disappointed! B. Celeste never ceases to amaze me, I love almost all of her books. Her writing style is so fluid and it's easy to get lost, finishing the book before realizing it's ending. This one was no different, it sucked me in right from the beginning.

Rylee is a strong female character and Garrick is so sweet and loving. I knew going into the story that it was a marriage of convenience, but it did not go the way I am used to stories of this type typically playing out.
I loved that they developed friendship and the romantic side of their relationship developed organically. There wasn't much angst, which I appreciated.

I do wish that the book had been longer, I feel that there was more of their relationship that could have been written out but was glossed over. That said, it flowed nicely and there were no major time skips.

I REALLY want Zayne's story now. I feel like he would have a great love story when he finds his "the one".

Five stars, highly recommend.

This was the perfect heart warming story that I needed! Garrick and Rylee were better in print than I ever could have imagine. When I first met Garrick in "Tell Me When It's Over", I never thought my heart could love him the way I do. He puts on a tough exterior but inside those walls, is one strong man and a loving individual who just wants to help people. He knows what it's like to struggle and he doesn't like to see others hurting.

Rylee's character was amazing because she really just owns who she is and does everything she can do follow her dreams. Living with a chronic condition and carrying the weight of everyone around her always sacrificing themselves to help her, she wants to live on her own and take care of herself. So when Garrick offers his hand to help her, it's really hard for her to take that hand.

The slow and gentle pace of this story sets a perfect tone and mood for leisurely reading that you can enjoy and let your heart swell with their experience. There really wasn't as much angst as I'm used to with Celeste novels which was perfectly fine, even though my heart kept waiting for it. It's really a tenderly emotional read that had me appreciating all the little things in life and remembering what we as people should be doing more of for others. Being there for those people in our lives and listening to those we care about.

Rylee and Garrick were an amazing couple and I can't wait for more people to read their story and fall in love with them as well.

Garrick stole a piece of my heart in ‘Tell Me When It’s Over’ with his laid back fun attitude, so I was dying to get his story and I was not prepared for the swoon fest that he was, he made my heart flutter!

Rylee and Garrick meet when her car breaks down and he comes across her crying in her car. She hasn’t had the best of luck, she’s recently been evicted from her apartment and is now living in her car so that her money can go to her medicine that she needs.

Garrick offers to help her by letting her stay with him. He gets to know her a little better and understands that she needs money for her medicine and that he can do with some help cleaning up his image, so comes up with a solution for them to get married.

This book had it all with the feel-good factors, low angst, easy read, sexual tension, funny moments, sassy moments, amazing chemistry, complete with a heroine who demands her independence and yet learns to accept help when needed.

Garrick lived up to everything I wanted him to be, he is so caring and kind and loving but also has his flaws. The way he loved his family and his mom made me swoon so bad for him.

Overall this wasn’t Celeste’s usual angst fest of a read but I’m not mad about that. I loved the easy flow and heartwarming story. A must read.

Garrick is an Aussie rockstar. Enough said. Talk about SWOON! ⁣

Just kidding. But really, Garrick was super lovable. He’s a man who’s come so far with his drug addiction, rehabilitation & taking it one day at a time. He’s honest, real & a little crazy when it comes to his emotions. ⁣

Rylee was likable, but I didn’t love her too much. She makes a living digging up dirt on celebrities & exposing their flaws. Although I have to give her props for feeling guilty for having such a shady job, she does it to pay for her medication. ⁣

Running into Rylee, who at first, Garrick has no idea the beautiful, sad, down on her luck girl, is the same girl who wrote an exposé on his band mate, Garrick feels something instantly. With issues within his band arising, Garrick comes up with a solution that’ll help them both. Get married to help his image, & he’ll pay for her medication. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy right? ⁣

Wronggggg. Emotions get involved. Disaster strikes. Doubts sink in. However the only sure thing is that Garrick wants to TRY w/Rylee. I had to hand it to him ~ when he knows what he wants he goes for it. I love his flirty banter, his giving nature & his humor. He wasn’t what I expected him to be, & it made falling for this Aussie so much easier. ⁣

Tell Me Why It’s Wrong by B. Celeste tells the story of Garrick and Rylee and can be read as a stand-alone.

Rylee is homeless, living in her care after being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and not being able to keep her apartment. She works as a celebrity reporter and is given the story of reporting on Garrick, the lead singer for the Violet Wonders, a famous band. She has a past with another member of the band and has her doubts that she will be able to acquire any information.

Garrick is enamored with Rylee and proposes an arranged marriage for 2 years, so he can help her get on her feet and also pay for her expensive medications. It gets the media and paparazzi off of Garrick’s back and allows him to spend time with Rylee, whom he finds fascinating on many levels. She isn’t interested in fame or money and struggles with her chosen line of work.

Although this is a marriage of convenience story, it is sweet as Garrick is kind, loving and truly wants to take care of Rylee as he knows how hard it was for his mom, when she struggled after his parent’s divorce. Rylee is fearful of falling for Garrick and what that means after the 2 years are over.

I enjoyed this story and getting to meet the other band members of Violet Wonders. I’m guessing that we will see the other members in future books and hopefully we will have the opportunity to re-visit with Garrick and Rylee.
