Hilarious and fun, TO DREAM IN DAYLIGHT is a feel-good, genre-bending romance about the dreams that happen while sleeping, that pushes the limits of reality to show the beauty of connecting with a stranger who might be your soulmate.
~IR Approved Starred Review, IndieReader

A cross between Serendipity and The Lake House, TO DREAM IN DAYLIGHT dazzles readers with a fate-driven romance they come back to again and again.

Simon lives in Portland. Adri lives in Chicago. Both are living a dull existance. Both wish to be anywhere but where they are. Neither know each other in their day-to-day lives, but in the dream world... they adore each other.

From childhood, Adri and Simon have shared dreams together, creating experiences within a dreamscape of their own making. They are absolutely perfect for each other - but perfect doesn't exist in the real world...

......but what if it did?

All it takes is one drunken mistake gone viral to change everything.

When bookish, mild-tempered Adri finds herself the newest embarrasing viral sensation, all she wants to do is disappear. But on the other side of the country, IT specialist and wannabe fantasy writer Simon sees the video and is desperate to find her. Is it true that his dreamgirl - the girl of his actual dreams - is real? His incredible search leads him on an adventure designed by fate.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my Goodreads page, which I am here more often than I can admit. I love reading and sharing what I read. I haven't found a better arena for me to find like-minded book lovers.

I am the author of the award-winning Vivatera Series, the rom-com To Dream In Daylight, and the comedic paranormal satire Vampire-ish: A Hypochondriac's Tale, among other short fictions. I'm also a published poet and have my chapbook Wandering Beautiful.

My writing needs some element of the fantastical, I especially love fate-driven stories. I gravitate to stories that surprise me with their creativity. If it's something I envy, I'll be a fan forever. I'm fascinated with how others approach their own imagination and how they speak the language of art.

Me personally, I love Count Chocula, retrogaming on my Sega Genesis or PS2, and I'm a strong advocate for creativity. I hope you all enjoy my stories and find them super delightful.

It’s always a treat when a friend puts out a new book, and this is no exception. Candie and I first met at my very first event where I attended as an actual author.

The Story
Adrianna, or Adri for short, is a classic introvert. She loves curling up with books, writing, and only spending time with people in short meaningful bursts. Ever since she was little, she’d had a recurring dream with the same boy, Simon. They’ve essentially grown up together, neither knowing that the other was a real, living, breathing person – that is until Simon spots Adri in a random video online.

Completely dumbstruck by learning that his dream girl is real, Simon is compelled to meet her in person. One problem, he doesn’t know where she is.

My Review
This story is told from both Simon’s and Adri’s point of view in alternating chapters, with dream chapters nestled in-between. We see their lives unfold piece at a time and how this unusual dream the two of them share influences their decisions. Because of this unique construction, the story is definitely a slow burn. Different connections and realizations are carefully orchestrated to keep the reader wanting to see what’s next.

What I loved most is how the dream sequences were painted. As dreamers, they have control over the setting of the dream, meaning that these dreams occur in all the places an introvert would ever wish to go including Middle Earth, a space station, and different beautiful natural settings. Not only does this reveal several of the different interests of the dreamers, but it gives the reader a fascinating question to answer – where would you visit in your dream?

My biggest challenge with reading this book is that because it’s written in first person, it often took reading a few paragraphs of the new chapter before I as a reader was able to settle into the right character’s mindset. The chapter headers do tell the reader where the chapter occurs, which is a huge clue to who’s head you’re in, but I personally needed a minute or two for it to click.

Thomas does a wonderful job creating compelling characters with great emotional depth and dreams of their own. I was eager to see if Simon succeeded in his quest to find Adri and was very happy with the ending.

My Recommendations
This book is perfect for those who love an interesting romantic comedy. It’s got all the feel-good connections, the threats to happiness, and two people that are perfect for each other, should they ever meet. There is that touch of magic with the dream elements, but not enough to deter anyone who isn’t fond of the fantasy genre.

As for age recommendations, there are several instances of alcohol consumption as well as appropriate romantic leanings that don’t stray into anything more than kissing. For that, I’d recommend this book for high school aged readers and older.

I give To Dream in Daylight 4/5 for being a cute romantic read that’s perfect for curling up with after a long day.

*I received a copy of this book from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review*

The premise of this book had me so interested and excited, which is exactly why I requested a copy.
For me, though, the execution fell a little flat which was disappointing.
I found it incredibly hard to get into this book, connect with the characters or get excited about the story.
There were moments that were good, mostly towards the 40-60% mark, but unfortunately, I then found the ending to be a little rushed.
In general I felt like the pacing was off. At times feeling slow and then racing over other important things that I would have liked to have explored in more depth.
Honestly, this book has so much promise and with a little more development of the characters and the story. I think it could be amazing.

This book was so cute! Such a fun read for anyone looking for a sweet romance/chill read. The audio book was great, I loved the female narrator's voice, it sounded like she was smiling the whole time she read it. Full of lovable characters that are very enjoyable to read about. If you're looking for a book that will fill you with joy--this is it!

To Dream in Daylight by Cadence J. Thomas
Publication Date: 1 Sep 2020
Genre: New Adult/ Romance/ Fantasy/ Sci-fi
2.7 Stars
The cute cover and the blurb attracted me to the book. Imagine two people, dreaming of each other since childhood and wondering if the other is real or imaginary. It’s not until a humiliating video of the girl reaches the guy, thanks to social media, that he realizes she is indeed real.
His conflicting emotions and desire to meet her leads him to Chicago from Portland. Meanwhile, the girl, sick of all the unwanted attention, chooses to get off social media and go invisible. How will the dream mates meet? Will they find each other? Can they have a happy ever after?
That’s the premise of the book (in my words). Doesn’t it sound like a cute, angsty, sweet love story with the promise of HEA?
But does the book deliver? Yes and no.
Here is what I like about the book.
• The story has a HEA.
• The secondary characters are interesting.
• The relationship between Simon and his sister was warm and sweet.
• The concept of dreams was handled very well.
• The reactions are realistic to a good extent.
• Geeky references will make it a better book for some readers.
• There is enough mismatch of time to keep the readers hooked towards the end.
What I wished was better or was disappointed in the book-
• The narration alternates between Simon and Adri with the dream sequences in the third person. That’s very good. But, if not for the names and setting, I wouldn’t have been able to differentiate between Simon’s narration and Adri’s. They sound so similar, it’s hard to distinguish (until 80% of the book). That’s where Simon’s ready belief in Adri’s existence is contrasted by her disbelief. Even then, they react similarly, in just about every situation. The voices have got to be different and unique.
• The genre says NA, but the leads act like young adults. I couldn’t imagine either of them being over 18. But they were supposed to be in their 20’s, and I still can’t picture them in that age group. The writing style is typical YA.
• Adri is a lot more confused and stuck up on her ex. While it’s understandable she wants to live in the real world, she seems more disoriented about her life than Simon. Her character growth could have been better.
• Both characters are socially awkward, geeky, writers (with other jobs) and seem to let others make decisions for them. Similarities again, and having two awkward leads tends to cut down the appeal for me. (Another example of why it is more suited to be a YA romance).
• Finally, when the two of them do meet, the book is over. Bam! There is an epilogue of sorts, but that’s it. To read 90+% of the book only to know that it ends soon after they meet was disappointing. At least the ones who helped them should have been thanked or referred to. Considering our leads, without the supporting characters, their meeting wouldn’t happen.
Overall, it’s a clean romance (with mild kissing) and a decent YA (not NA) book.
I hope the team is going to proofread it another time before the final publishing. There are a few typos that need to be edited.

The premise of Adri and Simon meeting each other in their dreams sounded great
A "humorous new adult romance" about two people brought together by fate

Although it seemed like the perfect book to read at night
Discover why Tau doesn't share the other readers' delight

Expectations

Every reader starts a book with certain expectations.
A story that is promoted on NetGalley with the description "Humor, New Adult, Romance" will attract people who are looking for a humourous and relaxing read.
If the book then doesn't live up to these expectations, you run the risk that readers are left with an unsatisfied feeling.

Humor? New Adult? Romance?

Humour is very subjective.
But if a story can't even raise a little smile on your face, there are two options.
Either the reader's sense of humour doesnt correspond to the author's at all.
Or there is a serious lack of humour in the story.

The characters are twenty-somethings, but only in name. Their naive behaviour rather corresponds to that of young adults and begins to really irritate after a while.
Furthermore the narrative arc isn't solid. There aren't enough conflicts to keep the reader's interest.
Another annoying thing is the fact that literally e-ve-ry-thing is written out. A whole page about how someone makes breakfast, of how an sms is texted, … It seems more like page filling and doesn't actually add something to the story.

As for 'romance', there are two striking observations.
First of all, the romance is not at all on adult level. Rather think of middlegrade/YA-level with holding hands, insecurity about how one looks, …
Secondly, there were totally no sparkles and no magic in this 'relationship'. That makes it hard to empathize much with the flat main characters.

Editing

This book also suffers from different editorial problems.

If even a non-native English speaker finds lots of spelling and grammatical errors, that's not a good sign.
After the first 30% of the book it becomes really, really bad in that matter: wrong verb conjugation, words are missing or are too many, personal and possessive pronouns are switched, …

Also, the writing style could have used more guiding.
If 50% of the phrases begin with "I" and always follow the same pattern (I + verb + direct object), that's very uninspired writing and eventually becomes laughable.
Oh maybe thát's the 'humour' in this story!

Adri and Simon give new meaning to the term “star-crossed lovers.” Since childhood, they’ve been meeting in their dreams, sharing stories and supporting each other through good times and bad—but never in person. When Adri’s unexpected appearance in a viral video catches Simon’s attention, he realizes that the girl in his dreams might be a girl in real life too, and finds himself on one adventure he never dreamed of.

The Narrative Structure: Chapters alternate between the present, where Adri and Simon are mid-twenties and living in Chicago and Portland, and chronological vignettes from their dreams. The romantic in me would have loved to see more chapters devoted to their early meetings and discovering their connection—which would have been a natural opportunity to flush out their characters some more and lay more of a foundation for their relationship—but we only get a few, short chapters from their early dreams.

The Likes: This concept has so much potential, from dreamers imagining new settings to sharing recreations of memories and spaces. We only get a glimpse of these imaginative possibilities (even though the characters have been doing them for years), but I would have loved to see more cosplay/D&D scenes, or more Inception-esque creations. As it is, it felt geek-lite: lots of passing references to a multitude of geekdoms (LOTR, D&D, Zelda, Final Fantasy, to name a few), but no real depth to or exploration of any of them. It left me wishing the author had just gone full. geek. Embrace it!

I thoroughly enjoyed the momentum toward the end, especially when chapter titles zoomed in from “Portland” and “Chicago” to street names and specific locations.

The Dislikes: For as much time as I spent with Adri and Simon, it was hard for me to get a sense of them beyond stereotypical adjectives/labels (e.g., “geeky,” “bookish,” etc.). Based on descriptions in the book, I could only conjure up squishy impressions of what they look like and their surroundings. The ending also felt rushed and I honestly felt a little cheated that we didn’t get more between the last two chapters.

Perhaps most unfortunately, the writing style was not my cup of tea. Often the reading level came off as middle-grade, a strange contrast to some of the more mature content.

While this isn’t the book of my dreams, younger readers or readers who enjoyed movies like Your Name or The Lake House might find it dreamy 😉

~TO DREAM IN DAYLIGHT by CANDACE J.THOMAS

Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
#spoileralert🚨

"To Dream in Daylight" by Candace J. Thomas is a mesmerizing and thought-provoking novel that delves into the realms of dreams, self- discovery, and the power of human connection.

With its gripping narrative and beautifully crafted prose, Thomas takes readers on a captivating journey of hope and transformation.

The story revolves around Olivia Hamilton, a young woman with a haunting past who, after experiencing a devastating loss, discovers her ability to traverse the realm of dreams. As her dreams become more vivid and lifelike, Olivia embarks on a quest to understand the meaning behind them and to heal her wounded soul.

Thomas's storytelling is skillful and evocative, seamlessly blending the boundaries between reality and dreams. The author's vivid descriptions and rich imagery bring the dream world to life, making it almost tangible for readers.

The dreams themselves serve as metaphorical landscapes reflecting Olivia's emotions, desires, and fears. Through this surreal lens, the author effectively explores themes of grief, self-identity, and the pursuit of happiness

While the pacing is generally well- maintained, there are moments when the story slows down, making it feel slightly drawn-out. However, these instances are fleeting, and the engaging plot ultimately keeps readers invested in Olivia's journey.

Overall, "To Dream in Daylight" is a mesmerizing novel that beautifully blends elements of magical realism, romance, and self-discovery. Candace J. Thomas's poetic writing style and the profound themes explored within the book make it a compelling read for fans of introspective fiction.

Adri and Simon met as children and have been best friends ever since. Through all the good and bad times, they've been there for each other. The only catch is that they've only ever met in their dreams, causing each of them to think the other is a figment of their imagination. Little do they know a serendipitous happenstance in the form of a viral video will change their lives forever.

“I couldn't get over this moment, the hugeness of it.
It was too overwhelming to think about.”

I found an ARC copy of this book on Netgalley and when I read the description I was immediately sold. I expected a whimsical, sweet romance and the book definitely delivered. It was a delight to read this one, and I finished it in one sitting. It was exactly the kind of feel good story I was expecting and I loved it!

The story is told from two POV's, Simon and Adri. Throughout the book you see how both of them struggle to accept that they love an imaginary person and are trying to find their place in the world. The book also features short flashbacks to dreams they shared from their childhood all the way to adulthood.

I felt for both Simon and Adri and I found them both to be lovable characters. You're definitely rooting for them both to find the happiness they're looking for. I also LOVED the brother-sister relationship between Simon and his sister Liane, they truly are sibling goals.

All in all I quite enjoyed this book and after reading it, it will definitely make you want to believe in soulmates and fate.

“And to all those who dream in daylight seeking impossibilities beyond your sight... It is to you that our dreams become reality. Never stop dreaming.”

To Dream in Daylight focuses on Adri and Simon, who have been meeting in their dreams since childhood. Now in their mid-twenties they've been able to support each other throughout the good times and bad - just never when they were awake. When a viral video of Adri surfaces, Simon realizes the girl of his dreams is real and sets out to find her.

This was a sweet read about finding that "dream" person that loves you just the way you are with a twist. Though the genre is listed as new adult it did lean more young adult to me.

Pros: the main concept of sharing a memory space and never really knowing if that person actually exists was very compelling to me; the cover is beautiful; the chapters switch between not only present alternating POV perspectives but also to former dreams creating a nice dynamic that was almost theater like; I did enjoy the geeky references like D&D (though it could have embraced the "geeky" interest a little more); it continued to pick up the momentum to the end; the secondary characters were interesting; and overall the romance was "clean."

Cons: I wish there would have been more chapters from the earlier dream periods to help flesh out their relationship and the way they characters communicate with each other while in the dreams felt a little off/unrealistic at first but as they got older it did get much better.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. I am voluntarily providing an honest review.

I was captivated by the cover, I was captivated by the blurb, and as I reached the end of the book, I knew this would become my go to “feel-good” book from now on.
The book is heavy on emotions and lighter on drama, though there were times I wanted to just pluck the main characters out of the book and put em in front of each other and go, “there, now sort it out”!
Also, some of the sentences and scenarios made me go “wow”, because they were so human, they were so me! I knew that in such a situation, that is exactly how I’d have reacted. When it came to emoting, Candace did a magnificent job.
The book is easy to read, it’s not too long, and leaves you with a silly smile on your face, it lets you believe in fate. Without going in to too much detail about the backstories and all, this book is written with more focus on “now”, and our characters’ struggle to find the person of their dreams, quite literally!
All in all, I finished it in one sitting and enjoyed it immensely! My only critique is, don’t tag it under NA, this is more of a YA genre. As for the typos, it’s an ARC so I understand 🙂, hopefully they’d be dealt with before the book is published.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What would you do if you met your soulmate - but only in your dreams.

When Simon sees the girl from his dream in a humiliating video, he knows he must find her. So with the help of his friend, and his sister Simon flies all the way from Portland to Chicago to find his Adri.
But it seems like the closer he gets, the closer Adri is to leave it all behind.

To dream in daylight, alternates between the dreams Adri and Simon had in the past, and the present as Simon tries to find Adri, and she tries to find herself.
In their dreams, we get to see the connection they have as friends, and how they fell in love with each other. Whereas in the present they are both straggling, and wish for the other to be real more than anything.
I loved watching Adri and Simon as they fell in love, and as they struggled with living their real life, and not just their dreams.
Simon was absolutely sweet and swoon-worthy as he tries to find his dream girl after years of doubting whether she was real or not.
I appreciated the fact that although Adri wished Simon was real, she didn't believe he was. Because although we want to believe in the impossible, a lot of time we can't.

Overall this book was an incredible Young Adult Romance, and I loved how original it was.

Adorable: the word I feel best describes this book.

What if the guy/girl of your dreams was real? Adrianna (Adri) and Simon have been dreaming of each other for years, both assuming the other is simply the result of a creative imagination. A chance sighting of an embarrassing video of real-life Adri catapults Simon into a heartwarming stalker-adjacent search for his dream girl.

Adri's character is very relatable to me - she is a proud introvert with a heart for imagination and a head for logic. Simon is also a sweet character. He is no macho prince charming. In fact, he's kind of a nerd, and he isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. But he's a nerd perfect for Adri.

Growing up, I would fall asleep making up cheesy swoony stories in my head, so the premise of this book was very enticing. It is a quick read, with short chapters alternating between Adri's and Simon's present day POVs and their shared dreams from childhood to adulthood. The overall tone is fun and (I'm gonna say it)... dreamy! Though the story isn't particularly deep or thought-provoking, it is the light-hearted and whimsical romance novel I needed.

This book is a spellbinding romance that artfully merges fate and dreams. Simon and Adri's ethereal connection, cultivated through shared dreams, contrasts with their mundane lives in Portland and Chicago. The novel brilliantly captures their dreamworld, where an idealized love blossoms.

The narrative's ability to transport readers between the ordinary and the extraordinary is a testament to the author's skillful storytelling. As the characters embark on an adventure designed by fate itself, the reader is swept away by a tide of emotions, rooting for love to transcend the boundaries of reality

The characters' growth and evolution, coupled with the beautifully crafted prose, make this a novel that resonates long after the final page. A delightful exploration of love, destiny, and the blurred boundaries between the real and the imagined, this book is reminder that sometimes the most extraordinary love stories are born from the most ordinary of circumstances. This novel is a must-read for those who crave a romantic journey that defies convention and makes us believe in the power of dreams.

🌸Woahh!! Such a cute YA romance with a twist, this is exactly the kinda sugar coated love story I was looking for in the middle of reading a lot of heavy books, I truly wanted to read something light, soft and easy breezy and this was a perfect pick!

The storyline revolves aroung Adri and Simon who see each other in dreams and feel so connected but once they’re up, they are back to normal life, but one incident changes everything for both of them! I felt like living in a bubble myself while I was reading it and felt so special not just about the characters but also about myself!

It’s truly a cute romance, I wish the author was the writer of my life too, life could have been more better! It proved a great escape to me, I was stunned, lost and felt enchanted while I was reading it!

This book also reminds me of a movie, where those guys see each other in dreams and are supposed to find each other in just 7 days!

The writing is simple and for me it was a stress reliever, a book that’s enjoyable and entertaining! Definitely recommended! Have you you guys!

I got this since I enjoy reading romance novels. I had never read a story where two individuals met in a dream and later realised the other person was real, so the narrative of the novel piqued my curiosity. The plot is good, but there are so many grammar and spelling mistakes that it seems like the author didn't even graduate from high school, and I'm only halfway through the book. Go for it if you don't mind that sort of thing. But that kind of thing catches my attention far too much.
Adrianna and Simon were in two different parts of the United States when they met in a dream while they were asleep, which was more like long-distance travel than time travel. This is a tale about pursuing your ideals and refusing to accept anything less. What began as a 10-year-old's fantasy becomes a reality.
Such a fantastically executed book idea! I couldn't put it down once I got hooked and couldn't stop! It's good to find a novel among all the books with the same plot. I've only read this author's one book so far, but I'll surely search for more!

"Sometimes cosmic forces need to intervene," writes the author Candace J Thomas in the epilogue of her book To dream in daylight. And I can't agree more.
Simon always dreams of a girl called Adri. The duo share every aspect of their growing up years with each other in their dreamland. This dreamland has a tree, a tree that's a witness to their bond. But when their eyes snap open the reality is often different and difficult for both of them. Growing up they believe that the other is a figment of their imagination and yet both want it all to be as real as real can be. And just like that fate meddles. After an unfortunate incident when Adri's video goes viral Simon lands a cue to her whereabouts. But the question is will they ever reunite in the daylight?©

I don't know how to feel about this one. I love Simon and the idea of a romance developing in their dreams without knowing it was real.
But the last chapters ruined it for me; it looked rushed, everything was put together to make it easy for them to find each other without following the clues lefts in their dreams.
Simon communicating with her with kind of telepathy to make her go to where he was going? That didn't make sense to me. It was all going well when they were drawn together by accident, going to the same places without knowing that the other one was there too.
I loved the book until Simon met with Pauline. The chapters where they are in their dreams were good too, I enjoyed reading their story and how they get to know each other in their dreams, but the last two dreams were the exception to this.

To Dream In Daylight is a realistic, fantasy, romance novel. I know sounds weird right. Not so. This novel focuses around 20-somethings Adri & Simon. Since a young age they dreamed of each other but was always convinced that the other was not real. Then one day Simon sees a viral video of Adri having a drunken accident at a party. With little money and thousands of miles to travel Simon flies from Portland, OR to Chicago in search of the love of his life.

This was a sweet love story designed for teens and young adults. Not only is it a romance but also a coming of age story as these young writers find their paths. I liked to book and it felt to me like it should be a manga or anime series for some reason, maybe it is the little bit of dream fantasy in the story.

Adri and Simon believe they are figments of each others imagination as they only exist in their dreams. Through their whole lives there has been a part of them that belongs to each other. They are each others perfect match in so many ways except that they don’t dont think the other exists in reality. Through a crazy and embarrassing viral video, Simon is shocked to see that Adri is indeed real and sets off in a desperate search to find her.

I loved the concept of this story and how it is laid out. You are shown sequences of dreams throughout Simons search for Adri that shows their innermost thoughts and feelings. You are taken on this journey between what is real and what isn’t and you feel the desperation and somewhat craziness that Simon feels as his world is turned on its head.

I am a big fan of magical realism in books and the blurred lines that it created between realities.

This review is for the Audible version of the book.

This is a completely adorkable (adorably dorky) story. It almost felt like a time travel book (which I usually don't like) with the flash backs to the dreams, but it still worked so well. Simon is a quintessential nerd complete with DnD and a computer programming job. Adri's character was amazingly relatable. It was nearly Hallmark movie sweet.

What kept me from getting cavities was the narrators. Their performances were so great. They really brought the characters to life and were able to develop genuine sounding and feeling emotion. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments that were perfectly delivered by the narrators. I can't say much for the pacing because I listened to it at 1.2 speed, but at that speed it was perfect for me.

Here comes my favourite read !

Such a beautiful and a heart- touching read with the real essence of dreams and the true meaning of love. The hope and the feeling of meeting someone in dreams and then meeting that person in real is real happiness. How will you feel meeting a person you’re dreaming from years ? The story is all about that ! I loved each scene, each moment, couldn’t put it down. At instances, I pushed the characters to jump out of the book and just sort everything then and there.

You can’t imagine how much I loved this book. I would really appreciate the author for writing this masterpiece. The language is simple and easy to understand. All the romance lovers should read this book and it could be made a series on Netflix. Cover is ❤️.

I give this book 2.5 stars. Adri and Simon keep dreaming about each other and then Simon finds out she's real.
Both characters have very little personal development and are plagued by their exes and the memories of this. I was so looking forward to them meeting, and then the book ends. It was a mellow read, but also made me antsy because they keep missing each other.
The idea of her story, his story, their dreams was very interesting, I just feel like it didn't reach it's full potential.

We have loads and loads of books with protagonists being writers, please can they have other jobs?

This book was provided as an ARC by NetGalley.

Adri and Simon have spent their whole lives dreaming about one another - with each believing the other to be no more than a figment of their imagination...until Adri shows up in a viral video. Suddenly Simon's life jumps of the tracks as he moves heaven and earth to find the girl of his (literal) dreams.

#todreamindaylight by @candacejthomas has an intriguing premise and characters I was rooting for. While it was definitely cheesy (who doesn't love some good cheese?), it was also well worth the read.

What a joyride!

I loved this book! Wow! It pulled me in and entertained me from the first dream to the last. Suspenseful, frustrating, funny, and so, so hopeful. I came away completely satisfied - but it was a crazy journey! I loved the characters; bookish, adorable Adri, and Simon, the impossible dreamer - each searching for the other in a scenario that defies all logic. Can dreams really come true? And who flies off to Chicago in search one person in a city of 2.5 million? Impossible! Or is it? I highly recommend this wonderful book!

This book is a pure delight from start to finish... the whimsy practically oozes from the pages. To Dream in Daylight is a wonderfully sweet romance, but it's also clever and cool... I loved the geeky pop culture references. I've been excited to read this story for a long time, and it was worth the wait! Well done! Thanks for the ARC :)

A beautiful story! Adri has dreamed of Simon since she was a little girl and she sees him in her dreams which has affected her life. When a video of her goes viral Simon sees her and becomes obsessed trying to find her. This story makes you wonder if you can connect to another person in your dreams. Loved how Simon and Adri made me feel about the possibility of dreams coming to life.

I got this eARC from Netgalley in exhange for a honest review.
3.75 stars.
This was so adorable and cute, i kind of squealed. I felt the embrassment of Adri and i felt how Simon wanted to find her, that he knew that he wasn`t insane. I really liked that their friends supported them. Micha can eat a raw potato. Bah.

Unique and Intriguing

I enjoyed this clean romance story. The idea of meeting someone in dreams for years and then finding out they are real is great. I do not normally read romance at all because most I have seen is either inappropriate or about Amish. I appreciated the novelty of To Dream in Daylight.
