Golden Angel always delivers hot and delicious sexy scenes and Felix & Gabrielle had an amazing chemistry 🥵🤤 but I have to say that the plot was kind of boring. Nothing happened except Gabrielle whining over Cordelia.

Ok I might be singular in my opinion but I still don’t like Gabrielle! Hear me out, yes she had many upheavals and adjustments when she was younger, but the whole situation/scenario with Cordelia I still feel didn’t end fairly.
.
Yes I loved the development and growth both Gabrielle and Felix went on with one another. The 🌶🌶 scenes were great. And I 100% believe they were meant for one another.
.
However I just couldn’t enjoy the whole story in the way I know I would have if the energy with Cordelia would have been different. I’d have preferred if she would have grown and even matured in that regard. I feel like everything somehow got dumped into Cordelias blame. Continuously it just didn’t sit right with me.
.
I was really hoping that by the end I would grow to like the sassy, feisty character, the way I did Cynthia in the other series. Even Elenor was initially spoilt and stroppy etc, but there were times in both this book and the previous one that she was just utterly cruel to Cordelia. And not even in the end was the even wanting to make up for any of that wrongdoing.
.
Based on the reviews I’ve read I think I’m of a singular opinion with this. But her bratty ways just set off reminders of mean girls/bullying girls. If it wouldn’t have been for this book challenges I probably wouldn’t have finished reading. Not because the book was bad but because of how much I disliked her character. I guess that shows just how well a book is written!
.
Im looking forward to the others in this series and I am really deeply hoping she doesn’t come up much in the other books 🙈😩

Ms Angel wrote a marvelous book! I have enjoyed it immensely!

Gabrielle and Felix's story is full of drama and emotion, exactly what I needed right now. I loved how they could get along so well, but how idiotic they could be at the same time. Felix was so obtuse regarding some issues that I really felt the need to just pat his head and smile.

I can't wait to read the next instalment in the series.

Loved this sweet heroine who is badly misunderstood. He's wants her but hid his attraction so he had to win her over. Sadly he made some mistakes and she doesn't believe she can trust him. She's been isolated and unloved so her caution was understandable. I liked them learning more about teach, but the H's arrogance and assumptions caused angst. Good read.

This was a delightful read, multifaceted and touching on some fairly deep emotional/psychological issues. The more you get to know her, the more you fall in love with the vulnerable and emotionally fragile Gabrielle. However she is also a minx of the first order and has a fire inside her that gets her into lots of trouble!

Felix was the perfect man for her, dark, a little broody but also very observant and quick to pick up on his wife's emotions. I loved that he wasn't Peter Perfect. Not only did he freely admit his short-comings but by tempering his responses to Gabrielle he demonstrated both fairness to and respect for her. That isn't to say he didn't spank her poor behind when she needed it, but he did so with such tender love and reverence that I could only swoon at his feet.

There's was a rather sudden marriage so unsurprisingly there are several ups and downs along the way. They both used these as learning experiences, so even though Felix was 'in charge', theirs felt a much more equal partnership. Well apart from in the bedroom, or where ever Felix decided to play, but since Gabrielle enjoyed his kinky tortures that wasn't an issue!

The scenes that included Cynthia and Arabella were huge fun. Would well brought up Victorian young ladies really have gossiped so and discussed such delicate matters? I have no idea, but surely we women haven't changed that much over the years, so I rather like to think they might have.

From the very outset you can't help but root for Felix and Gabrielle, she so very much deserves to be loved and cherished and he is just the man to provide that for her. This is my favourite historical spanking romance book of the ones that I've read. Bravo Ms Angel.

Gabrielle’s story was what i hoped and more! She had my heart,my support from page one! Behind that prickly wall hid a lonely girl, one that was resigned to have a husband that loved another. Worse even,Felix only had eyes for his best friends wife,Cordelia. And the only reason he married her,was to avoid a scandal that would hurt his best friend,Philip and the woman he loved,Cordelia. No,Gabrielle had no-one to truelly call her own.....or had she? At Felix’ parents house, they seemed to grow closer....but what would happen when they returned to London? You really need to find out,i promise you’re going to love Gabrielle and Felix’ story!

• I thought that this book could have been good but the main characters weren’t good at all

• I liked hearing about the main characters from Domestic Discipline, even if they were only mentioned; I think that Arabella’s story will be interesting as I liked her character in this book and the epilogue made me curious about the next book in this series; I hated Gabrielle’s character as she was spoilt and really annoyed me with the way she acted towards Cordelia; I didn’t like Felix either as instead of showing Gabrielle that Cordelia was like a sister to him, his relationship between him, his best friend and his wife turned awkward

• There wasn’t really much happening in the book as there were balls, but they weren’t really shown; the main characters were in the country, but what they did wasn’t shown in detail; Gabrielle was supposedly really good with children but it doesn’t actually show her interacting with them as it only says that she played with them and bought them dolls

• I didn’t like this book because of the main characters so I’m hoping that the other books in the series will be better with the different main characters

This was just OK in the series. I found Gabrielle to be too bratty, and so much shade being thrown at Cordelia, who I felt a lot of sympathy for in the first book, for not handling the situation with Gabrielle maturely as the "adult" in the relationship.

I preferred the Domestic Discipline series over the Bridal Discipline series by the same author, if you are looking for sexy Historical Romance with some spanking for punishment and for fun. The characters were much more likable in that series.

Less satisfying than the first book because Gabrielle is a bad person. There is an attempt to spin her as simply bratty, to make excuses for her bad behavior, and show her favorably under certain circumstances, but it can’t save her character. She is selfish, petty, purposefully cruel, and unrepentant. Felix is an idiot to pretend otherwise. Nonetheless, the sex is good, the kink is good, and the relationship is salvageable.

I liked this one more than the first. The characters are more complex and the toxicity is a little less than before. Honestly not sure why I am still reading this series. It’s like a train wreck and I can’t look away 🫣

In the first book in the series, I absolutely hated Gabrielle. Couldn't stand her. Almost skipped this book but I am so glad I didn't. I ended up falling in love with Gabrielle and watching her relationship bloom.

Gabrielle’s spunk drew me in. She is not one to accept the mediocre, and yet her lack of self-esteem leaves her vulnerable to jealousy. Watching Felix battle his own insecurities while attempting to woo his wife is at once frustrating and endearing. Their battle of wills proves for an enjoyable story filled with plenty of spice. Gabrielle has a tight grip on being a brat so there’s plenty of opportunity for instruction! A fun read!

Gabrielle gets married to Felix with a special license, because she was involved in a scandal and their marriage was a way to fix things. Gabrielle is thinking Felix is in love with Cordelia her stepmother, when in fact he is not. Felix is just friends with Cordelia and not romantically involved with her at all.
The first thing Felix does once they are married is to get ready to go with Gabrielle so that she might be able to meet his parents and have a honeymoon in the country.
Both of Felix’s parents were very pleasant to Gabrielle and this made her quite happy. Felix’s mother was particularly warm to Gabrielle and told her she could call her mother, which Gabrielle started doing.
Later when Felix was going to take Gabrielle to bed she got nervous and had a momemnt of panic and shooed him away and even though she sort of wanted him to insist he didn’t. When his parents found out how things were going Felix’s mother told him he needed to court Gabrielle because he hadn’t really done so before.
Later that night Gabrielle was rubbing one out and thinking of Felix and she said his name out loud and unbeknownst to her, Felix heard heard and heard what was going on and then proceeded to beat off.
Felix then gets up early and after talking to his mother goes out and gathers some flowers and puts them into a vase and then gives it to Gabrielle. She is really pleased since Felix actually went and gathered the flowers himself and made an arrangement and didn’t just pay a florist for them.
Later that night Felix finds out that Gabrielle knows something in detail concerning how couples have sex, unlike most brides at the time and after she refuses to tell him how she knows, Felix spanks her until she tells him about watching Philip and Cordelia have sex in the Library. Then they have sex until they both come hard and Gabrielle feels wanted.

Then we get to the end and there is a really nice HEA and then an epilogue giving a teaser for the next book Lydia’s Penance

Note: There is some butt stuff in the story that I think it was the best scene of this type I have ever read.

Funny, incredibly sweet and so hot!

First let me say each of these books can be read as stand-alones but you'll understand Gabrielle & Felix (well all the characters) better if you read them in order. Second, After reading Philip's Rules I could just barely handle Gabrielle, then I read Undisciplined and finally got an understanding of her. That being said this book had me laughing, frustrated and rooting the couple on! I absolutely adore this series and cannot wait to start the next one!

Thin plot

Newlyweds Gabrielle and Felix were married at the end of another book. More interaction and dialogue with other characters would have made the story more interesting and complete. Lotsa sex and spankings between solving the problem of Gabrielle. I don’t recommend this book.

okay.

The first in the series far surpasses Gabrielle’s story. Too much time spent thinking about another woman. Jealousy is a Trite trope.

So... I started with the second book in this series because it was free on Kindle and I did not check but the first one is free too. Anyway, I think I enjoyed it a lot more because I started with this one as I did not know Gabrielle from the first book so I did not already have a bad opinion of her. She was spoiled and maybe not the nicest heroine and there are things that I did not fully enjoy (hence 4 stars and not 5), but I also feel like she is misunderstood and complex and we are not all angels.

The beginning was rushed - as in I was getting a lot of backstory in only a few paragraphs - now I know that maybe some things are explained in the first book or the novella that is actually about Gabrielle too, I will read those too at one point. So we had a rocky start, me and this book.

But then, as our two newly weds were getting to know each other I was getting to know them and I am sucker for heartache and people burning for each other and pining especially when they think the other person does not feel the same or worse, might be in love with someone else. So, yeah, emotional turmoil and pain? Count me in!

Plus the spicy scenes were quite spicy and fun, but also sweet at the same time (lately I've been reading a lot of romances were the spicy scenes read like bad porn and I do not like porn - so this book was great for me, a palette cleanser).

I loved the side characters too - I cannot wait to read Cordelia's story (which is the first book and I have it), but also Arabella's, and her brother's story too (I do have a soft spot for dukes). And I am curious about Felix's brothers too (Felix is our hero in this book - as always, I am all over the place when I like a book).

Speaking of Felix... the guy was hot and level-headed and the best partner for our sassy brat Gabrielle. Also, why are the men in these regency novels so down to earth even if most of them are reformed rakes? And why does that make them even hotter? And Felix is very observant and quick to admit his mistakes. What unicorn of a man!

Basically I loved how nobody in this novel is perfect, that's what makes these characters fun to hang around with.

There are some things that were a miss for me... I feel like Gabrielle's conflict with Cordelia was not fully resolved, or at least I do not like the way Felix solved it Plus a lot of things were told, not shown even though Golden Angel can write amazing scenes were things are shown, you know? I feel like she was just lazy with some scenes. And even though I understand Gabrielle's behaviour and I don't think she was a bad person, I do feel like the author tried too hard to make her shine by blaming Cordelia for example (not saying Cordi is a saint, but she is a young woman, very close in age with Gabrielle, who becomes a step-mother to a spoiled Gabrielle, and then Gabrielle's father has the audacity to die - yeah, I do not expect Cordelia to know how to care for Gabrielle and make up for her shitty childhood).

Overall, a book full of emotional turmoil, but spicy fun scenes too, with flawed characters and a lot of complex interpersonal relationships. Not perfect, but definitely kept me up late at night reading.

Great characters, lots of humor and 'whoa, hot' chemistry

Book 3 in the Bridal Discipline Regency Series, while you can easily read this as a standalone, I'd suggest at least reading book 2, Undisciplined, to get the fullest enjoyment as it helps set up this book.

I was wondering when reading the first book how Gabrielle was going to be redeemed, because she was more than just a brat, at least by my way of thinking--she was actually mean at times. By the time we get to this book we have a much better understanding of why she acts the way she does; having lacked for attention and affection as a child, she acts out both as a way of getting at least some kind of attention and also to push people away to avoid getting hurt. Felix has seen her kinder side, and is drawn to Gabrielle because of her spirit and sass, not in spite of them. There are a lot of feelings on both sides even if neither is quite willing to admit them, and their chemistry together is fan yourself hot!

While I did enjoy the journey of Felix and Gabrielle getting to know each other and coming to terms with their feelings, the story did drag a bit in the middle for me at times. That the two of them were so clueless about the other's feelings plus their lack of communication, while completely understandable and in character, still made me want to scream in frustration. So, kudos to the author for evoking the emotion I guess, lol. And I did absolutely adore the conclusion!

Great characters, lots of humor and 'whoa, hot chemistry' all made this an enjoyable read for me, and the epilogue was another wonderful tease for the next book. I can't wait to read Isaac and Lydia's story! 4.5 stars

To escape the scandal of trying to elope with an unworthy man, Gabrielle finds herself married to the man she loves - a charming rake and her guardian's best friend, Mr. Felix Hood. He's the third son of a viscount, he's darkly handsome, and he's in love with her stepmother. Or so she thinks.

Felix Hood had been fighting the urge to be leg-shackled ever since he met Gabrielle Astley, but once her honor was at stake, he knew he'd rather die than allow her to marry someone else. He's not a perfect man, and he has no experience with being in a relationship, but he's determined to make his marriage work, even if he has to spank his fiery bride daily to do so.

They retreat to the countryside immediately following their wedding, where Felix hopes to strengthen their relationship before they return to London for the end of the season. To his delight, Gabrielle turns out to be everything he'd hoped in private - she's submissive, passionate, and responds beautifully to even his darkest desires. But what will happen when they return to London society?

Gabrielle is determined to replace her stepmother in Felix's affections. She's been through a multitude of changes in her life, none of which have ended particularly happily for her, but she has to make one last try - because, after all, she's married to him for better or worse, till death do them part. To her surprise, once they're alone, he seems to return her regard, and she blossoms under his discipline and care...but will he still feel the same when he's faced with Cordelia, Gabrielle's stepmother again?

This was a great book with a great message. This book is a lesson in how to look at yourself from the eyes as others see you.

Wishes come true

Early on Gabrielle spyed Felix and decided he would perfect husband material. But he was so attached to her stepmother, Cordelia. She was married to Felix's best friend. Plus, Felix was one of her so called bodyguards. But she was determined to marry so she could get out of her gardens house. So, a fourten Hunter had proposed to her and she accepted him. Her Heart was set on Felix, but he wasn't interested. So, if her fiancee promised she could get out of London and live in the country, she was all for it. She wouldn't have to stomach her new husband every often and she could pretend. But Cordelia and Felix and Philip caught them trying to run away and stopped them. But too many people saw them and then her young man created a scene. But instead of forcing them to let him marry her fat dowery, he got Felix's first in his face. Gabrielle was then hustled out and into the carriage. When they got home, Philip just told Gabrielle to go to bed. Then Felix announced that he would marry Gabrielle! Tomorrow! And so they did get married that next afternoon and retired to the country home. Then things got really interesting. And this is where I stop. You will have to read the book for all the tidbits and how it ends. Remember that this is an adult readers book, so there's a lot of SEXY tidbits and a lot of spankings to go around. You just got to love this series and you won't waste your money buying it, either. I highly recommend this book and series for anyone who likes spanking stories. And happily ever after endings. Yes haw!

Why does everyone hate Gabrielle?

I found Gabrielle to be extremely relatable and understand perfectly why she acts the way she does. Unlike everyone else, for me she is not the reason this book is a 3 star read.
My issue is that the men in this series immediately jump to spanking for every little thing. If they don't like abything their wife is doing, immediate spanking. Even with company in the next room. What happened to communication? Why is spanking being used as a way to force conversations? Why are women not allowed to dislike who they dislike without getting spanked for it? It's all very "I'm going to spank you until I get what I want/you agree with my opinions" which made the whole thing cringey for me. Spanking while injured, spanking in anger, spanking because you don't know any other way to get someone to communicate with you, spanking when you have no idea what is causing the behavior youre trying to change.. This is not sexy spanking. This is abuse of power spanking. Meaning, I spank simply because I can and I'm too lazy to try any other way to solve this problem. Gross.
Also, why didn't he get spanked when he made mistakes? Why is it only women who need to be physically taught a lesson but the men are allowed as many mistakes as needed with no real consequence other than the wife was miffed for a little while? Does that turn people on?
Having said that, I liked Felix. He was a much more palatable version of the chauvinistic Victorian male that usually gets on my nerves right away. I liked him much more than Philip, who was a bit too eager to punish a grown woman not even related to him at all. That was some weird overstepping.

Gabrielle has been caught while trying to elope. To avoid a scandal, Felix Hood steps up and becomes engaged to her with the wedding planned for the morning. Gabrielle and Felix have been circling each other since they met. She blows hot and cold on him. He watches her closely. He is also Philip's best friend as well as a friend to Cordelia. Can Gabrielle and Felix survive their marriage? How will he handle her? Does she have enough time to get his loyalty before they must return to London?

I enjoyed this book. I was not certain I would as Gabrielle does not come across as someone I want to know in PHILIP'S RULES. However, once she marries Felix, she settles down a little. I love when he takes her home to his family's estate to honeymoon and meet his parents. His parents are delightful. I like how the story is told from both points-of-view. When you read where Gabrielle's thoughts are, I was better able to understand her and her actions. His mother understood Gabrielle from the start. She tried to tell her son, but he would not listen to her. When Felix punishes her one night for her behavior, after Arabella (her best friend) gives him a push in the right thought direction, he finally understands what the problem is. He didn't listen to her but his friend. What he saw before their marriage and what he sees after their marriage do not mesh. He needs to rethink what he was told against what he actually sees. Communication could have worked for them had they not both hidden their reasons for their attraction to each other. But fortunately, it all worked out by the end.

I look forward to reading more of this series.

Gabrielle’s Discipline Is the second book in the ‘Bridal Discipline’ series, and Gabrielle is the step-daughter from the first book, Philip's Rules. You do not need to have read the first book in order to enjoy or understand this one.
Gabrielle is a character with complexities that go far beyond the surface. Felix, the youngest son of a nobleman, is a charming and confident man. He recognizes quite quickly after meeting her that she is going to be more than a simple young woman. Felix was more than happy to be a freewheeling bachelor, but suddenly he realizes that he is not so reluctant to settle down with Gabrielle. There are a lot of complex issues with her very young stepmother, and I like that although they made progress everything is not perfect by the end of the book with that relationship.

To avoid a scandal, Gabrielle is married off to Felix. She has had a crush on him for a long time, but she’s convinced that he’s in love with her stepmother. Of course, Felix loves Gabrielle but thinks she hates him. Without giving spoilers, I’ll just say they both have good reason for their beliefs.

Since this book features domestic discipline, there are plenty of opportunities for those scenes as the characters slowly figure it all out. There is more emotion in the book then you might expect, an entertaining plot, and a substantial amount of steam.

Review:

I am very glad that Gabrielle's story was the second story. The first story made her out to be a complete monster pretty much. It made her seem like she was self-absorbed and hateful. It has been very refreshing to see her actions from her point of view and not her stepmother's. I'm not saying that her stepmother is a horrible person. I just think that she really misunderstood Gabrielle in many ways. I think she held Gabrielle at arm's length to keep from being hurt. It was like she saw Gabrielle in the same light as her horrible late husband. Honestly, I really felt for Gabrielle because of this book. I connected with her and understood why she acted the way she did. Why she felt the way she did. It really seemed like she was ignored unless she "acted out". Then all of the sudden her presence was noted. I also really understand her insecurity over her husband and his feelings. From her point of view, it seems that he's completely in love with her stepmother. She even feels like he only married her for her stepmom's sake. I really enjoyed this book very much!

This is a stand alone book but to get the full effect of the book and characters Philip's Rules and Undisciplined should be read first. I enjoyed this book and loved the dynamics between the characters. I had to keep reading to see what would happen next to the characters. I found it interesting how my opinions of the characters are changing as I read each book. In Philip's Rule I didn't care for Gabrielle and I loved Cordelia. Now those feelings have swapped.

My only gripe is that I don't like reading books where the two main characters really love and want each other but they don't tell each other. They don't think the other wants them and wants someone else. These kind of books drive me crazy. My heart feels torn when I read books like these and that's not what I want when I read books. The only thing that made it okay is that this issue didn't really take away too much from the book.

Got what she needed

Poor Gabrielle. She may have been the foil in the first of this series but anyone could see the poor child was misguided and misunderstood. She had a soft heart and was often disappointed in her expectations of her guardians. Phillip finally realized what she needed, some true guidance and respect instead of dismissal and excuses. I loved this book. I am disappointed that Gabrielle and Cordelia still haven't worked out their issues. I did hope they would come to an amenable relationship. Maybe someday (yes I care about these people that don't exist, GA is good at that) I found this book extremely steamy and hot. It may not be everyones taste but its soooo good for those of us whose taste it appeals. I have no respect for these heartless reviewers who can't see past their own prejudices to see a child having a tantrum has a need that needs to be met. I do feel sorry for them that they'll never enjoy the closeness that can be felt with a sensitive soul when their needs are met. Stop thinking of yourself only and try to see another's point of view. This book is almost a guided lesson in such. Great story

I enjoyed this book a lot😌. It is one of the few books that had the miscommunication trope and it wasn’t unbearable. It also gave a lot of insight to what insecurity really looks like. Gabrielle really struggled with feeling secure in her relationship with Felix because it started off rocky. Little did she know, even though he married her to save her from scandal, he’d already planned on marrying her regardless. It was interesting to see her mature in real time. I can relate to that a lot as someone who also tries to have more patience and understanding when dealing with trying situations.
The romance was absolutely adorable. This MMC was also quite patient but I especially enjoyed how he was ALWAYS looking to do his best with understanding the FMC and being a good husband to her.
The only reason I didn’t give this book 5⭐️s is because I enjoyed the first book a bit more than this one ALTHOUGH it’s a very close second. I’ll probably end up rereading this whole series in a year.
I’m definitely going to read the rest of this series. 😛
