Baby on Board. Blue, horned alien flying ship. Help!

Jade
Jade will do anything to protect her daughter, even cooperate with the blue, horned alien who says a friend sent him to get her, to keep her safe. She’s heard that line before. Jade shouldn’t trust him, but she can’t stay on Earth either. She has to take her chances with Havok. Who has a name like Havok, anyway? But with her baby growing attached to the big blue lug, and the way he holds Clementine as if she were his, Jade may have to pretend to be the alien’s bride… anything to avoid losing her daughter.

Havok
Havok always wanted a family. And now he has one. A human and her youngling named after a fruit. He always knew humans were strange, but wonderful at the same time, especially this guarded female and her precious little one. In stealing them from Earth, he’s made them fugitives and now he’s taking them to the worst place possible... home. Zyan. A planet about to be plunged into another war, a planet full of traitors, and worse... his people who reject him because of the color of his skin and horns. The human female doesn’t trust him and will flee if he’s not careful. He will protect her, even if it means betraying the man he’s fought to become for so long, the warrior who swore to protect his planet above all else.

Finally Havok's story!!

Oh man, I have been impatiently waiting for Havok's story and I was not disappointed. I knew that big vicious warrior was going to end up having a huge soft heart. Watching Havok fall in love and fawn all over "Little Citrus" (Clementine, Jade's baby) had my ovaries exploding and my heart melting into a pile of goo.

Havok, an eeshone (kind of albino for a Zyanthan), always knew he would never be able to have a family or kids. His whole life he had to live with being shunned and treated poorly by his race. No woman would want him. But he can't help being struck by how much he is drawn to Jade and her daughter Clementine. His protective instincts kick in and he knows he'll do anything to protect these two from The Brotherhood.

Jade is scared. Trying to survive and protect her baby from the Coalition and The Brotherhood. She doesn't trust anybody because she has learned the hard way people aren't always what they seem. When she is rescued by Havok, she doesn't know if she should believe or trust him, but seeing the sweet careful way he takes care of Clem she decides to give him a chance.

This was sweet and heart warming and yet emotional and gut-wrenching too. There was so much angst and upheaval that they were forced into due to the rising terror threats to them and Zyan from The Brotherhood. Then to top it off Havok's decisions were colored and swayed by his lifetime of living with his race's extreme prejudice against him. But Jade and Little Citrus steal his heart and show him unconditional love and that to them he's just a good and honorable warrior.

This was so good. My favorite yet. I loved Havok so much!! He was just the best man a girl could ask for. Jade was a strong survivor who was willing to fight for their happiness because she knew how precious it was. Watching Havok step up to be a father and take care of Clem was the show stopper for sure. I'm really enjoying this series. These honorable warriors are just stealing my heart! I can't wait now for Remmi to find his sholani next.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was such a great read, full of action, adventure, twists, sizzling chemistry and love. Havoc really grabbed my heart and Jade was a strong and likeable character. Together, they had a fab connection and I loved 'Little Citrus' ;) There's so much to enjoy in this story and I really can't wait for more!

Not a Standalone

Havok is on a mission. A mission to rescue his commander’s mate’s sister and niece. He expects to break them out prison and take them to a farm planet where they will be safe. He doesn’t expect to develop feelings for Jade or her daughter Clementine. Feelings he cannot act upon because he is an outcast even amongst his own people. Feelings he can’t act upon because he’s kind aren’t able to mate.

But when the stakes are raised, and both Jade’s sister and his commander’s life are at stake, Havok must change plans. Even if those plans mean that he ends up falling even more in love with Jade and her infant daughter, Clementine.

This book needs some trigger warnings. Triggers for sexual assault, parental abandonment, discussion of abortion, domestic abuse, physical violence, terrorism, xenophobia, racism, and a whole lot of others that I am probably forgetting. This is not an easy book to read and it contains some fairly difficult subjects. Please make sure you’re in a good place before reading this.

So for the most part I actually really did like the story. I’ve liked the character Havok for a while and have wanted his story since book one. He is such a good Doobie. I want to pet him on his head and tell him he’s a good boy.

I liked Jade a lot more than I liked Ruby. And I liked her acceptance of who Havok was. I even liked the themes of he learning to use privilege to affect change.

But there were some things that I didn’t totally love. First off this book really needed a stronger copy editor. There were a lot of wrong words and weird punctuation. In fact there were several typos in just the first paragraphs alone. Additionally the book needed to have a stronger editor to catch overused words. For instance the word sweet is used 50 times in a book that has fewer than 200 actual pages. It got to the point where I winced every single time I ran into that word. It was overused so much. The book also suffers from white savior complex. I suspect it’s not intentional. But I didn’t really love some of the overtones in the fact that one of the phrases used stated that Jade has the dominant skin color of humans when she is white. Last I checked, white people have a range of skin colors and are not the dominant skin color on this planet.

Also at this point The series cannot stand on its own anymore. Having knowledge of the previous book in particular is incredibly important. And it sounds like that is going to be the case moving forward.

I am still enjoying this series. And I do plan on continuing it. And for that I give this book…

Great Read.

So good! Full of action and with some characters reuniting. I loved Jade and Havok. A great couple who both pushed through barriers to come together. Added to that was little Clem who wormed her way into a warriors heart. There were many obstacles to overcome and the ongoing back issues of traitors to find. But these two push through to form a strong, permanent bond. And a new family about to grow.

Now I did get a copy of this via Booksprout but had also pre-ordered. It is such a good series.

Alien Awoken #

Well now this was really an easy read. No mysterious plants, just the right amount of conflict, families finally getting together and a HEA. Had to finish before I could sleep and it's 1:30am. Well another book and another day. Happy reading everyone.

There were parts of this book that kept me reading it, but for the most I had to push myself to get through.

The heroine came off as TSTL in the beginning. Far too trusting, even though the author kept repeating that men/aliens couldn’t trusted. Yet, she did trust without much questioning. Then the TSTL seemed to morph into a weak doormat that couldn’t seem to stand up for herself for more than a few words. She kept taking him back. And back. An back. Being hurt by his words/actions (understandable) she would make a stand or tell him to leave but then she’d question her actions and be all “I should fight for us, not argue with him.” Which is great, in theory, if the hero would actually show her the same curtesy. FYI, that didn’t happen.

Uhm, no. If a man pushes me away THAT many times (I don’t care what bullshit excuses you use. It’s just that: excuses) it’s time to move tf on and find a better man. Obviously, YOU’RE not worth fighting for if he’s willing to throw you away that easily.

Sorry; not sorry. IMO you’re supposed to put work into a relationship, absolutely, and FIGHT for EACH OTHER. She’s doing all the fighting to keep him, he’s doing all the running and pushing her away (for you’re own good, of course)

Don’t even get me started on the hero, his constant push-pull with the heroine.
I’ll admit; he was sweet and caring and protective…. but, MAN, there comes a time to MAN TF UP and TAKE what you want. If you’re so easily able to give a woman away like he was, he really doesn’t love or deserve her. I don’t care how much the author put those words in there. There’s a reason the saying ‘Actions speak louder than words’ came about. I mean, damn… his MATING cock got hard. That, in and of itself, should have been endgame. My mating cock works for her when its only ever going to work for my MATE… gosh, common sense dictates that I should fight to keep my mate with me and not try and throw that gift away. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe I’m being too harsh. Probably am. Guess a weak hero and a weak heroine deserve each other. I mean, as long as the heroine is the only one fighting for them, it must be true love.

I’ll be honest and say that I became so disgusted with it all that I didn’t finish the book. Maybe her other books are different and the heros actually fight to earn a heroine’s love and respect, or the heroine actually stands up for what she wants and doesn’t apologize for things she had no control over but I’m fairly certain I won’t be reading any others to find out.

Havok is adorable and infuriating all at once. He's incredibly sweet, but also acts like a jerk at times in an effort to keep Jade safe. He knows he's an individual who is just as worthy as anyone else, but he still internalizes what his culture thinks of him and others with the same genetic anomaly. He quickly wins the reader over with his reactions to "Little Citrus."

The culture isn't very alien, but is well developed. After almost having their planet conquered, they balance two contradictory stances. On the one hand, they want to create a strong community that is safe and welcoming. But as much as they want to welcome outsiders, they have an extreme fear and mistrust of many 'othered' groups.

There is a lot of uncertainty between the Jade and Havoc regarding their relationship, their futures, and even their day-to-day existence. Only Little Citrus really seems sure of what's going on.

The ending is just so perfect and sweet. Enough to turn even the most hardened of undercover warrior turn into a big pile of mush!

Perfect for me

I absolutely love when the outcast is so much more than society thought they could be, and the author did an absolutely amazing job of telling us all about! I don’t think any other woman could have been more perfect for this outcast with a heart of gold. She is gentle and kind while channeling her inner sister and finding her backbone. These two characters were lost and adrift until they found each other. I can only hope that we get to see more of them as the series continues. This book is perfect poolside or anytime you have a few hours to spare.

I do love this series

This series is my ultimate escapism and I love it. This book follows Jade, Havoc and Clem or Little Citrus but also gives you more insight into the overall story with more from Ruby and Torin. Love the mystery surrounding the whole book and the intricate twists and turns which I think is very beautifully woven making the whole series a really great read

This is a great book with a sweet storyline, it’s got action, lots of steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending.
Havok has been tasked by Torin to save Jade and her baby from where she is being held prisoner on earth and to take her to her sister Ruby on Affinia. Things don’t go to plan though when the ship they escape on gets boarded by pirates and Jade is stabbed. By that time Havok has fallen for Jade and adores her daughter Clementine or Little Citrus as he calls her, so when Jade is in a med centre for two weeks, Havok looks after her and their bond deepens. When they arrive on Zyan, the Zyanthans tell Jade that Havoc is an eeshone and has been linked to the brotherhood. Jade isn’t worried but soon after there is a bombing and Havok pushes Jade away telling her to go somewhere they can be safe. When she moves out Havok is sent on a mission to find the bombers and when he returns it’s to find Jade is working at the place that raises the eeshone younglings that have been abandoned there. He realises that he was wrong and tells her this, he asks her to try again.

A Warrior Worthy of Love ❤️

I was so happy when I realized we were getting Havoc’s story. I love protective heroes, who don’t realize all they truly have to offer, and that is him in a nutshell. Among his people he’s considered defective and is disrespected, so he doesn’t see a family being an option in his future. Fate has other plans though when he’s sent to Earth to rescue Jade and her daughter Clementine, who Havoc refers to as Little Citrus (so adorable). Jade of course has trust issues, especially with aliens, but extra time from a side mission, has them being able to have time to really get to know each other. Will Havoc be able to overcome years of doubts of not being worthy of love? Is Jade ready to open her heart and mind to the possibility of love, for herself and her child, with an alien? You will love reading this story and finding out. The ending might surprise you....

Jade and her baby, Clementine are in a dangerous situation. Earth has been under attack by hostile aliens and a gang of human traitors called the Brotherhood. Jade and Clementine have been held as prisoners by the alien Warlord Ghazi.
One night a tall blue alien breaks into her cell to free them. He claims to have been sent to rescue her by her sister Ruby. Havok is a eeshone. His people have rejected him because of the color of his skin and horns. He has pale blue skin, white horns and hair. Havok is attracted to Jade, but feels unworthy of a mate, children, or family happiness and so he pushes her away. See if he is able to successfully rescue Jade and Clementine and if they get their HEA.

The book has twists, turns, steam, action, adventure and intrigue. A great addition to the series!

I loved this book! Some of my favorite characters tend to be the tortured heroes- ones who have suffered some great pain in their lives and yet still show such kindness and strength rather than hatred upon the world. Havok was that man and won me over right away before even learning his past.

Jade and her baby daughter Clementine are kept prisoner on an Earth that had been under attack by hostile aliens who now ruled the world, and a coalition of vicious humans who treated it like their playground. Suffering cold, hunger, and threat of violence, Jade's only thoughts are of keeping baby Clem safe. One night a tall horned blue alien breaks into her cell to free them, claiming to be a friend of her sister Ruby, and wants to fly them to safety off-world. But Jade's experience with aliens has been violent, and she's been hurt by men in the past. Can she trust her and her daughter's lives on the word of a seemingly kind stranger? Jade proved to be a strong and brave woman, a very likable character. And baby Clem, whom Havok calls Little Citrus, is absolutely adorable and impossible not to fall in love with.

Havok is a warrior on a mission to save Jade and her daughter and get them off-world where they can reunite with Jade's sister, who is mated to his commander. He has specific orders about rendezvous points but has lost communication with the ship and his team. He is brave and loyal. His kind and caring nature are immediately apparent in his treatment of Jade and Clem and he is protective of them in a way that's honorable and not overbearing. But there is another aspect to him that defines his character- he is esshone: he was born with a genetic defect that makes his skin pale blue rather than the vibrant blue of the rest of his species, and his horns white instead of black. Because of this he was abandoned as a child and is treated with disrespect by his own people. He is seen as undesirable and worth less than others. He fought hard when he was young for an education and to become a warrior- an honorable position among his people, and, though earns him slightly better treatment, is still not enough for acceptance. He completely won my heart and I was desperate to see happiness, peace, and justice for him.

In spite of not having read the first book, this one had a great storyline and worldbuilding, and I was still able to follow along even though I wasn't familiar with Havok's team and probably couldn't appreciate the full grasp of what they were doing for their people against the Grub and Brotherhood. Really loved this book, and I definitely plan on reading the ones that came before this, as well as those to come. Give it a read! 5 stars!

We've meet both Jade and Havok in previous books and I'm glad they are getting their chance at their HEA. Jade and her daughter Clementine are in danger and Havok rescues them and is taking her to her sister Ruby. He is instantly attracted to her, but according to his species, he's a genetic defect. And he has been treated that way almost all of his life, so he feels unworthy of a mate, children, or family happiness. He is doing his best to get her to her sister, but a series of events side tracks them, but they get to know one another better and Havok really enjoys his interactions with Clementine or "Little Citrus". The book has twists, turns, steam, and action. A great addition to the series and solid read from start to finish. And like the rest of the series, it should be available to read for free on KU.

Havok, Jade, and Clem's Story . . .

Jade needs to escape from Earth with her daughter, Clementine. When an alien frees her, she doesn’t trust him, but she will have to take her chances and go with him to find her sister. Havok had always wanted a family, so he readily accepts the human and her youngling who is named after a fruit.

Havok is diverted, runs out of time, and has to take Jade and Clem to his home planet, Zyan, where war threatens and his own people reject him because he is different than most of them. But he vows to protect her and the child above all. The baby he calls “Little Citrus” has already grown to love Havok, especially as he holds Clementine as if she were his. Jade falls in love with him and his gentle and caring ways. But he feels unworthy and pushes her away. Can she change his mind and show him what he means to her and Clem?

Jade and her daughter have been taken prisoner by the Coalition Warlord Ghazi. The Coalition has taken over earth and is trying to kill as many of the resistance as they can. Jade and her daughter Clementine were captured during a raid of their settlement and thrown into a cell. Her sister Ruby, who became a mail order bride, has also been captured. Jade knows she doesn’t have much longer until he kills them.

Havok is an eeshone, a Zyanthan that is a genetic “mistake”. He is light blue and has white hair and white horns. He was abandoned by his parents when he was an infant and raised in an orphanage for eeshone. He has been told his whole life that he is worthless and will never be accepted into Zyan society and his only future is to work in the mines until he dies. He rejects that and becomes a warrior. His family are the other warriors on his ship. His commander, Torin, give him and another warrior the mission of rescuing Ruby and her sister Jade. Havok rescues Jade and Clementine, steals a ship and off they go into space. Havok overhears some vital information during his rescue of Jade and must get the information to Torin, before he walks into a trap. He has been unable to contact their ship or Torin. He plans on dropping Jade and Clementine off at another planet with Torin’s brother. They will be safe there. When Jade gets seriously injured during an attempt by pirates to steal her back, Havok must stop at the nearest planet for medical treatment. They are there for two weeks, which means that he doesn’t have time to drop them off. He must go directly to Zyan. When they get there they find Havok’s home has been vandalized. Whenever they go out everyone is making awful comments to Havok because he is an eeshone. Jade sees the way he is treated and is horrified. During their time there, she and Havok become very close and she falls in love with him. He adores her and Clementine, but doesn’t think he is worthy of them. He tells her he loves her but then pushes her away. Will he ever give himself a chance to find happiness?

This is a pretty fast paced book with a lot of things going on at once, but the main story is of Jade and Havok. His relationship with Clementine is absolutely adorable! He is such a sweatheart that you want to grab him and smack him for being so stupid when it comes to love!

What can I say about Havok? He is just so sweet and so calm about how hidesouly he has been treated all his life. Despite fighting to become a warrior he still dismisses himself and his own achievements all because of the culture from Zyan, which quite frankly stinks! Jade has a lot to be dealing with and you can tell that she feels Havok is toying with her but I don't think she truly understands the vision he has of the world. Thank goodness she has such a fiery streak in her as they both deserve to be happy together. I loved it for the characters of Jade and Havok and could have bopped others for their prejudice which only goes to show what fab writing it is that I could get all cross on behalf of a fictional person.

Loved reading this story about Havok and Jade with her adorable daughter Clementine. This touchily story with very personal characters kept me invested in their story. Jade with her daughter is captured and caged on Earth when she released by Havok who was sent by her sister Ruby. Can Jade trust Havok after being hurt by aliens? Their escape and adventures is explored in this well written story that kept my interest. I also loved reading about Havok (mentioned in the previous books) and how he felt he was unworthy of being loved because of his skin color who finds through his budding love for Jade and Clementine a inner strength. This enjoyable ARC I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.

The third book in the Zyanthan Warriors series a well written sci-fi story that kept me tuning pages. Havok a Zyanthan Warrior but a also a Eeshone who brings Jade and her daughter Clem/Clementine to Zyan. This story has suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, one determined woman, and the man she falls in love with. This story was well worth reading. I love the story between Jade and Havok. He saves Jade and her daughter, Clementine. He's trying to take her to her sister Ruby. Their attraction is fantastic but he feels as if he is unworthy of love and family, and has been told he has a genetic defect. (Who cares if his skin is dark blue or light blue.) I mostly love the interaction between Havok and Clementine, "Little Citrus." There is plenty of twists, action, acceptance, and steam. I guess the mark of a good book is when you're so into the story that you want to shake some sense into a character like I did with Havok. I loved Jade and Havok's story, the characters were well written and there was a lot of action and adventure as well as intrigue. The worldbuilding was spot on and I look forward to reading more from this author. A really great read.

Jade and her baby, Clementine are in a dangerous situation on Earth so she has no choice but to go with a alien to find her sister. Havok intends to take her right to her sister but when another warrior is in trouble he has to go back to his home planet first. He falls for Jade and "little citrus" on the way there. He knows that they can't be his because he's eeshone. This is a good book.
