Wow! I don't know what to say. Let me tell you a little story.
Two twin werewolves, both girls. They believe in themselves and each other. They are guardians of the Etheric Empire. They believe in the team and their Queen. They died with their team when the enemy over run their position protecting those who can't protect themselves. Their enemies then showed the fallen little respect. They defiled their bodies and showed it to the universe. Think, what would you do?
It's why I love this series. There is no what should we do? The Queen Bitch creates an alter ego. Bada Yaga. She changes into the Night Witch who brings death. She then sets out to destroy all who defiled her warrior's. And she does it with the Bitches, Peter and Stephen. Not one is left standing.
Yes, in war good people die. But the twins were special. It's a shame BA couldn't save them. Yeah, I cried. I cried for their loss, but I cried because no matter where you go, everyone is the same. There is good and bad everywhere. Guess I'm gonna have to have a discussion with the author. Why the twins?
Seems the series is continuing. Hey I'm all for that. But come on what's with killing people who I have come to love. Yeah, strong words. But that's the beauty of this series. It hits all the right spots.
This is more of a review for all the previous books and a rant about why I don't like this series anymore I originally started this series in 2016 and at the time I would probably have given them 4 Stars but now I probably would give them 2 or fewer stars. In a way, my biggest problem is the sci-fi aspect of this series. The first books only had a very small amount but then it just got more and more ridiculous went out of the realm of sci-fi and more into pure fiction.
Honestly, I wanted to write more but it would just be a very long list of stuff I dislike. I'm not gonna finish this series even though I only would have 3 more left but I'm just tired and with every book, it just became more of a chore to read them.
Second read not as good as the first time around. Plot jumps around in years. Still lots of action. Maybe I am burnt out trying to read all 21 in a row this time around.....
I can't say enough about this series. It has everything in it. The world's are awesome as well as the whole storyline. I just keep finding myself wondering what Mr. Anderle will come up with next. Well on to the next read.
This book spans roughly a decade and reads more like a loosely connected, distributed short stories rather than a cohesive single story.
Once again, everyone worships Bethany Anne as if she were a Goddess. I just don't get it. She's a dictator. She quite literally has the various AIs and EIs spying on her people and nobody has a problem with this. She's a tyrant that has said if you don't like the way she does things, you'll be showed the door and if you're lucky there will be a ship on the other side and not open space. That is EVIL
What really burns my biscuits is how one of the planets is under siege by the Leathe for 4 or 5 years. Then anger BA by violating her dead troops which causes her to mount an offensive to free the planet in a couple of days. Why does anyone follow her? That proves to me that she doesn't really give a damn about her people if she could have saved them a boatload of strife had she just attacked the planet with her and her heavy hitters straight away.
I admit I didn't enjoy this one as much as previous books. Just not enough ass kicking for my liking. 😁 But oh well, I'm sure we'll get to that in the next one.
Might Makes Right is the eighteenth book in The Kurtherian Gambit series by Michael Anderle.
This book is an amalgamation of confusion. The further we step into the politics of the many different species presented, the more convoluted everything continues to grow. That the Leath can’t see the Kurtherian behind the curtain is rather annoying. That they stupidly enriched the Empress’ ire by desecrated her deceased Guardians, only illustrates a logical reason to shift my thinking: That they deserve what is coming for them.
Very little Ranger awesomeness presented in these pages. We did however get to reconnect with the mind-melding genius and tomfoolery that is Team BMW. With not-so-little-anymore Tina joining their fold. (I’m pretty sure chicka possesses a crush for one rocket scientist/gravitic field no-it-all.)
I’ve always wondered whether the Seven means seven actual beings, or rather seven races? It was probably explained way earlier on and I just happened to gloss over it. Maybe I’ll rediscover the answer next year when I re-read this amazing series again.
I honestly want more relations building with different alien species, maybe even some cross species mating. I want to know if any of these newly discovered aliens and our Etherian humans can copulate and if they will produce branches of new species with their hybrid status.
For the last two to three weeks I have been rereading this, my favourite series ever, from book one. On getting to the end of Book 18 I found I have been a totally slack grasshole in not leaving a review on this in any of the previous 10-15 reads of this book. The early reviews I left for the earliest books in the series had only four star ratings. It was not until the twentieth or more reads of books one thru five or so that I had a WTF moment where I realised that Michaels tales of BA et al enthralled me so much that I returned to them time & time again. The previous focus on the early story typos and occasional disconnects soon fell by the wayside in the journey each original storyline that just dragged you along, so often to the detriment of mundane things like eating, sleeping and earning a living. Thank you so much Michael for these and the hundreds of other titles you have lead me too over these past years.
I have such a good time reading these books, as they have me breaking out in laughter on pretty much every page! Exciting and interesting stories, a ton of action, and characters that make you worry when they fight because you want them safe. I don't know if I've mentioned them before, but Adam and Tom are the axis of the series. And, of course, there's Ashur, who I love and want him to come to live with me! What a perfect sidekick for BA he is. Please let him know he's welcome to bring Bellatrix and the puppies with him, I will happily make room for all. This has now become my favorite series. I never would have believed that my old fav would be knocked off its pedestal, but it's happened. What's next? ✋🐺
My Bethany Anne fix arrived in the nick of time. The Empress is tired of the bureaucratic and diplomatic BS and moved into Queen Bitch mode. The disrespecting of fallen guardians by the Leath pushed her over the edge to create a Witch of Death avatar to kill all those responsible (scaring the hell out of them while doing it). The game has ratcheted up as she is going after the Kurtherian clan responsible for the death and through anyone who gets in the way. Will Baba Yaga ride again? Will the Baba Yaga Defense System give them an edge in the upcoming wars? I look forward to another book.
A good read but really drawing out the main event. Okay so we have members of the Seven trying to take over planets. Then we have the Etheric Empire. Now they are locked in a guerrilla set of battles which is all well and good but are really getting a bit samey. A bit too predictable. The character has taken on a new persona but really Baba Yaga? Baba Yaga is magic as anyone who has read Russian Fairytale she will know - there is no magic here. Surely a better choice would have been Kali. Swords, revenge and merciless - everything the new persona needed. Hope we get to the Seven soon as losing interest fast.
Another good read from our author. He must be a real hoot when he talks because his writings continue to keep us coming back for more. Kindle Unlimited brought us together, but I now own 20 something, maybe 30, of his books. The new Baba Yaga is a woman after my heart. I hope one day to read how the cats become members of the teams. The interaction with Asher and Bellitrix puppies would be fun. Keep them coming Michael Anderle and team. I will be reading.
I was getting worried about BA getting too far removed from the action. I love all the characters (even the ones Michael puts on stage just long enough to grow fond of before he kills them off, dammit!), but watching BA kick ass is just the best part of this entire series.
Turns out Michael was considering the same thing, and resolved it very satisfactorily!
Keep it up, Michael, and I'll keep reading!
Do I really have to say it? If you've read the previous 17 books, you won't be disappointed with this one.
Can't believe I have read the 18 books with only one detour along the way. It takes me 3-4 days to finish one and that can be shortened when I give up sleep. I love our new warriors coming onboard, but want to cry when we lose any of them. Too beautiful and too sad, but you must read to understand. Michael skips us around to keep track of all the developments, then I have issues adjusting to the timeline if actions are simultaneous. *Still loads of fun to read.
While i always enjoy any book with Bethany Ann, i enjoyed this one much more than the last. Michael kept the story going all the way to the end. felt the big battle wasn't cut so short this time. while i understand why, im still unsure if i like yaba baba taking the credit in place of Bethany Anne. but she is a really scary cool avatar. keep up t he good work Michael!
This story finally returned the Bethany Anne series back to where it really began... with a persona that kicks ass for all the right reasons in spectacular fashion. This was a good read with a return to the action found earlier in the series. It's always nice when a series returns to its origins as opposed to continuing to spin further away from the original recipe if you will of success. Thanks to the author for that...
......here comes Baba Yaga to stir things up! I really did forget just how amazing these stories are which makes me glad to be rereading them from the beginning. Little things read but not really registered the first time expand to me much more when in context to minor characters especially getting there own series and have read those already also.
It's hard to have BA go from kick ass to Mean QB and go to massive empire ruler. Where can our intrepid team take it from there, an excellent book as we crank it up a notch with a new player BAs alter ego. The anticipation is up a notch and I'm curious what Easter eggs we will find after further books have been written. Still feels a little short but worthwhile read
The war between the Etherian Empire and the Leath has accelerated but the Leath overstep the bounds of war. That is when Bethany Anne decides to release Baba Yaga. She also declares to the galaxy that her war is with the Kurtherians. Meantime, team BA's newest member gets stuck and needs Marcus' help. Watch out universe, the Etherians have you in their sights. Good action!
BA didn't start this journey to become Empress and rule the galaxy. She came to kick some alien butt! So, to satisfy her needs, confuse enemies, and as a figurehead who heralds the coming of pain, the new incarnation of Baba Yaga arises giving hope and inspiration to all in the empire. From Slavic roots of old Earth, Death walks again. Excellent addition to awesome series by Anderle. Has become one of my favorites.
Bethany Anne is defending against the Leath on the Killian home world. After she and her troops defeat the Leath, she decides to rename her a.i. Reynold to Alexander. Then she goes after the mercenaries who call themselves 'darkness for hire'. She restages herself as Baba Yaga, also calling herself 'death'
I've officially given up on this series. What used to be novel and entertaining, has become repetitive and annoying. Everyone loves the MC and the MC is unbeatable. We get it. The MC loves 'unique' swearing and all of her cronies are 'in on the joke' and try to out-swear each other. We get it. It was getting to the level of tired sitcom levels of 'humor' and I just didn't care anymore. I'm done with the series. It was nice while it lasted.
This book made me sad, happy and excited while reading it. Mike did a good job writing it. Next! We learn to make the distinction between persona of the empress, the queen bitch and the newly created one that I ain't gonna spoil. Lot of feels and awesome swearing.
I can't get enough of this series, the book's come out and I read until the end in one go. I love how you feel like the characters are your family and friends, like I wish I was there with them. Bethany Anne is a great roll model, someone we can all try to be like.
Yeah yeah yeah. This book was worth the wait. Bethany is back! This book took you on so many different paths.I will have to read it again and again to see what I missed the first time I read it. Great job Michael.
Great job ,book well done. This book start s to bring so many different opportunities to this series. it is wonderful to see where Michael will you next. ☺
The story is ever growing and expanding more and more. This is defiantly a great tail becoming a saga , like a old Norse tale told on a cold dark winter nights beside a cracking embers of a once raging fire. The other series just add to the character of the overall saga.
Good Reads said 8 hrs + to read this one ROTFLMFAOPIMPAIC. Ha Ha Doubtful, another Great book in the Series, loved Baba Yaga side of Bethany Anne, though I thought that the 6 name should have been explained more. Keep up the Great Work, you have me Hooked and finding it Hard to read anything else.
