A gripping romantic suspense with strong, independent, caring characters and great pace.
Donna Grant’s newest page-turner begins with Emmy’s heart-racing escape from Denver where she is supposed to testify against one of the most powerful mobsters and where, despite being placed into a witness program, she was held at gunpoint. Her handler Dalton Silva needs to find who in the Marshals office is leeking the information, but first and foremost he needs to hide Emmy and he even knows the best place- his old friend Dwight’s ranch. Dwight has a lot of military and Homeland Security experience and would anything to protect an innocent like Emmy. There is no safer place for Emmy, who is suffering from PTSD.

Donna Grant is a master of creating fast-paced stories with loyal, protective men and strong, independent women, and love born out of danger. If you enjoy the forced proximity trope, you’re going to love the way Emmy and Dwight develop feelings for each other. They feel safe and comfortable in each other’s company, understand each other without words, have the same values- perhaps these extreme circumstances brought together two soulmates who would have never met otherwise.
Add one of the most beautiful settings- Montana mountains around Thanksgiving-Christmas period of time and you have my heart melting. Well, there’s also a lot of heat in this perfect blend of romance and suspense, but, if you are a fan of Donna Grant’s, you probably expect some passionate scenes.
A quick and enjoyable read for any reader who loves a good romantic suspense story. Can’t wait to read Donna’s next book!

This is a Romantic Suspense. I have to say the characters in this book was so much fun following and getting to know. The romance in this book was very good. The suspense was there, but I found the suspense to be just in the background for most of this book. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (St. Martin's Paperbacks) or author (Donna Grant) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas was a fantastic read featuring a romance between a woman in witness protection and the man who protects her.

Ever since she witnessed a murder, Emmy Garrett has been on the run and when it becomes clear her location is compromised, the U.S. Marshal in charge of her takes her to somewhere no one will look for her. Montana. Upon arriving on a ranch she is left under the protection of Dwight Reynolds, a former military man who used to work for the FBI and Homeland Security. Emmy and Dwight try to keep their distance from each other, but their tentative friendship turns into something more. And when the people looking for Emmy discover where she is, Dwight will risk everything to save her.

Emmy worked as an accountant in Denver where she eventually acquired a client that was actually a front for the mob. After Emmy accidentally witnesses the man in charge kill someone, she turns over evidence to the District Attorney's office and is placed into witness protection. After an attempt on her life, the marshal watching her decides to hide her off the books which is how she ends up on the ranch. I admired Emmy's courage and how she wanted to do the right thing despite the danger. Emmy has a lot of trauma after what happened to her which she slowly starts to work through during her stay at the ranch.

Dwight knew Emmy's handler back before he left the federal government and agrees to help out his old friend by hiding Emmy. I liked how Dwight didn't hesitate to help despite the potential for danger if whoever was after Emmy finds her. Dwight is an interesting character as his two sides, ex-military/fed and cowboy, actually blend together fairly well. His past is obvious in how he carries himself while his present day actions show him to be a man dedicated to running his family's ranch.

Emmy and Dwight's relationship is initially slow going despite the obvious attraction on both sides. Emmy is clearly still dealing with the trauma of what happened to her which Dwight has experience with, so he doesn't push her. I liked the friendship the pair develop over the first few weeks Emmy is there and how at ease they become around each other. Eventually the pair give in to their attraction and I enjoyed the steamy scenes between them. Overall I enjoyed the romance and I liked how much time was dedicated to building it up. The suspense aspect of the story mostly comes into play near the end of the book after Emmy's location is discovered by one of the men looking for her. I enjoyed how that storyline played out, particularly Emmy's role in the ending.

Overall Home for a Cowboy Christmas was a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it for fans of the author's Heart of Texas series.

Short and sweet. Lots of love and some suspense too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are looking for a story to get you in the hometown holiday mood, this one is a winner. It is short, sweet, and offers so much packed into this book without it being overwhelming. The perfect amount of heat, suspense, slow-build romance but with the hot alpha cowboy that is just so perfect! MMmmmm
Grant builds awesome characters that blend together so nicely. No one overpowers the other – they just balance so nicely and you cannot help but like them! The sweet heat is throughout the story not just crammed into the ending. I seriously enjoyed this one so much! I wish it was a full-size novel – but you do get a short story along with it too.
A splash of the holiday spirit, suspense, and romance all rolled into one sweet read! More, please!
This was a sweet, slow building romance with a touch of suspense. Despite Emmy running for her life, the author focused more on her and Dwight's budding romance. The danger smoldered in the background before coming to the forefront. While I love when an author focuses more on a couple and their building romance, I also felt like this missed out on a bit of excitement we could have gotten due to Emmy's situation. Overall, I enjoyed this couple and Dwight is the kind of hero I really like to read about. He's a bit of a loner, very protective and who doesn't love a cowboy?
Donna Grant has warmed my heart again with this novel. "Home For a Cowboy Christmas" was just a enjoyable read. I really loved this story as it kept my interest until the very end. Hard to put down.
A bookkeeper who witnessed a mob related crime, Emmy is on the run from assassins until she can testify against the mob boss. She's been left in the hands of Deputy US Marshall Dalton Silva until he can find her a place of safety as all others have been compromised by an insider in the witness protection program that had guaranteed her safety. She is introduced to Dwight, ex-FBI who owns a ranch in Montana in hopes that he can keep her from harm. The plot and pace was good and I loved the slow build development of their romance. Their characters are likeable and they just seem to be made for one another. There is attraction, romance, suspense and an adequate amount of intimacy that I like in a romance novel. A comfortable and delightful read that I truly recommend. This is one author that I've come to favor.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins Press for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
Emmy is on the run after witnessing a mob hit but when she keeps getting found the US Marshal in charge of protecting her knows there is a leak somewhere so he goes off grid and enlists the help of an old friend in Montana.
Dwight might look like your everyday cowboy but he's anything but, he has an extensive career with the Military, FBI, and Homeland Security, so his ranch is the perfect place for Emmy to hide and he's the perfect person to keep her safe.
HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS will pull you in right away and hours will have passed before you realize it. This was a good story, well written with lots of suspense and even more heat. I personally would categorize this story as a romantic suspense that happens during the holidays rather than a Christmas Romance because the holidays are a backdrop to what is really happening in this fast paced romance.
If you enjoy Cowboy Romances, Former Military Romances, or Romantic Suspense's I would recommend this book to you.
Happy Reading!!!
Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant is a romantic suspense stand-alone story that packs a punch of both. Emmy Garrett is on the run for her life after witnessing a murder and the witness protection program has a leak. The US Marshall takes her to Montana as a last resort to get her off the radar and keep her alive so she can testify at the trial. He calls in a favor with his friend Dwight Reynolds so that she can hide out at his ranch and hopefully out of harm’s reach.
The author knows how to build her characters slowly, along with their attraction for one another along with a touch of suspense. I also liked that she showed the reality of PTSD and how fear can paralyze you. Sam the therapy dog helped Emmy find her peace again as he helped Dwight with his. When trouble comes to Montana Dwight takes all the precautions to keep Emmy safe and the showdown was a good one. The whole story flowed well, the romance was sizzling and the ending concluded nicely.
A bonus to the book was a short novella, Wish Upon a Cowboy, a nice easy read that takes place also in the holiday season. Donna Grant never disappoints and Home for a Cowboy Christmas is a definite winner.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Home for a Cowboy Christmas delivered a delightful, slow burn Christmas romance with a dash of suspense. Witness to a murder at the hands of a mob boss placed Emmy Garrett’s life in danger. To guarantee her safety, the US Marshalls placed her in protective custody. However, with a leak in the department, protective custody was an illusion. To ensure she stayed alive to testify against the mob boss, Dalton, the US Marshall who saved her from an assassin, took her to stay with his friend, Dwight Reynolds, on his ranch deep in the mountains of Montana.
Home for a Cowboy Christmas was such a wonderful story. From the moment I started reading, I knew it would be an engaging read. The story pulled me in, making it difficult to put down.
The romance featured began as a tiny spark and slowly developed into a blazing inferno. It was fun getting to know both Emmy and Dwight. It was also a pleasure getting acquainted with Dwight’s sister Victoria and his dog, Sam. Victoria brought some levity to the story, while Sam provided comfort.
Emmy was such a brave soul. A woman with guts. One would think that after staring down the barrel of a gun, she would change her mind about testifying. Instead, she did what she believed was right for justice to prevail. Dwight is no ordinary cowboy. The story introduced him as a former military officer, FBI agent and Homeland Security agent. Definitely a badass and the perfect person to protect Emmy. His protective nature and his feelings for Emmy shun throughout the story. Sam, taking a shine to Emmy and providing her the comfort she needed, gave an additional feeling of warmth to the story.
The suspense which bounced off the pages had me on edge. I felt like a nervous Nellie at every page turn wondering when the hitman will find Emmy. Despite knowing that Dwight could keep her safe, it didn’t diminish the feelings of fear the story evoked.
With such a suspenseful build up, one would expect an explosive conclusion. Unfortunately, it did not go as expected. The outcome was good, but I hoped for more. Despite the disappointment with the conclusion of the suspense angle, 🎧︎Home for a Cowboy Christmas was a satisfying holiday romance.
Nikki Zakocs narrated, and she did a great job with the narration. Her male and female voices were well done, and her pace and tone worked great for the story.
Testifying against a mob boss has put a woman’s life in danger and the only place she is safe is in the distant Montana mountains on a ranch with a former law-man. Donna Grant blends country charm with tension-wrought romantic suspense so well that I didn’t hesitate to grab up this latest set during the holidays.
Home For a Cowboy Christmas standalone and offers a bonus holiday novella, as well, both set in ranch country during the holiday season.
Emmy is sick with terror, but she trusts Dalton, the US Marshal who interrupted an assassin from killing her, to keep the mob off her trail long enough to find a place to hide her for the weeks until the trial. Dalton brings her to Dwight’s remote Montana ranch and for the first time in days she feels a measure of safety. Dwight is trained military and law enforcement, but left it behind to come home. He knows what he’s doing and he understands her PTSD like no one else can. His dog is intuitive about her need for comfort, too. Her days might be numbered, but Emmy is determined to enjoy this last holiday season with Dwight on his beautiful family ranch.
Dwight left behind all that life and death stuff, but one look at Emmy and he is prepared to go back in protector mode. No mob assassin will get past him and he wants a lifetime and not just a few weeks.
The suspense is palpable through the whole story and the reader can feel Emmy’s terror and struggles to hold it together. And, then there are the brief scenes with the mob boss and his associates that keep the danger ever present in the mind.
But, there is also a heartwarming glimpse at a wonderful working ranch in a gorgeous Montana mountain setting, a ruggedly handsome cowboy ex-lawman, a scene-stealing herding dog, and a tender, rapid romance to offset the suspense.
There is a superb climax scene and denouement to wrap up the story. It all read easily and quickly. I was well-satisfied with this holiday romantic suspense and hope that some of the others, especially Dalton, might eventually get their stories.
The extra novella was a snowed in city-girl country-boy situation that was a sexy and fun follow-up story worth the read, as well.
All in all, another great reading experience with a favorite cowboy romantic suspense author. The holidays were well-repped and the romance was more spicy than sweet. Those who want a cowboy romance paired with some suspense should definitely give this one or any of her other contemporaries a go.
This is my first book by Donna Martin and I have to say I loved it! The author takes you on a thrilling roller coaster of a story mixed with danger, murder, U.S. Marshals, WITSEC, cowboys, lust, and romance. I loved the characters—they were realistic, and the attraction between Emmy & Dwight was smokin’ hot!! This was a story that I read all night long I just couldn’t put it down. It’s the perfect forced proximity romance—who wouldn’t want a hot cowboy protecting you night and day! ❤️‍🔥
Emmy is a bookkeeper who witnesses a mob murder and is in witness protection, but the bad guys get to her. The marshal saves the day and whisks her away to his friend, Dwight. They fall in love, but Emmy is afraid that they mob will find her and end her HEA, so she says nothing. True love conquers all.
There was a bonus novella (Wish Upon a Cowboy) with completely unrelated characters (Cady and Zane) that in only a week they find true love. Very sweet extra story.
Loved this story! Emmy is in Witsec outrunning the guy who wants her dead because of her testimony. Dwight is typical alpha military, FBI, and Homeland Security all wrapped in the cowboy who is protector in chief until the Marshal can find the guy. This was a great romantic suspense!
Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant
Romantic suspense for the holidays sees a man willing to protect a woman who’s life is in danger and an eventual HEA if they both can stay alive till the end of the book.
What I liked:
* Emmy Garrett: bright, scared, suffering from PTSD, hoping to stay alive to testify against a mob boss after seeing something that put a bounty on her head. A woman I liked and admired and perfect for Dwight.
* Dwight Reynolds: cowboy, ranch owner, ex-military, ex FBI, ex homeland security, brother, son, protective, capable, charming, knows he loves Emmy and wants her in his life.
* That Dwight and Emmy seemed to balance one another.
* Sam: canine friend and companion as well as a great support dog.
* Dalton Silva: US Marshall, friend of Dwight’s, honest, incorruptible, good man, wise, skilled, someone I’d want on my side.
* Dwight’s community and how they pulled together for one another
* The chemistry between Dwight and Emmy and her ability to state what she wanted
* Victoria: Dwight’s sister and all around good person
* That it was believable
* The writing – well done and I felt I was there
* That I could hate the bad guys
* That good triumphed over evil
What I didn’t like:
* Joe Roma the mob boss, Orso the assassin, Tony the bff of Joe, and the corrupt marshals…wonder if they were caught
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes
A cowboy and Christmas in a snowy cabin, what more could you want.
It caught my eye with the description and I wasn't disappointed.
Emmy is on the run and needs to be put into protection as her last safe house was found.
She's taken out to Montana by the US Marshall who has a friend that he hopes will protect her until the case comes to trial.
Dwight Reynolds is happy to help out. He's determined to keep her safe but as each day passes he starts to feel more for her than he should. He knows she will be gone straight after Christmas too.
But with her life is in danger can he still keep her safe or will his feelings put her in further danger?
I enjoyed this, although very insta love and a bit over the top at times, it still worked. Its a sweet read, with a decent plot and a little bit of heat, perfect to read on a cosy winters day.
It has become the "Season" and Donna Grant has given us a rugged ex FBI/Military man being asked to look out for a woman who saw something that has put her in danger.
We have a mole in the Witness Protection group because our gal keeps getting found and put in constant danger.
When a past co-worker ask our now cowboy to take the woman into his home in Montana, it was a no-brainer. Of course, he would help, it was for a limited time, and he wanted her to be able to testify as planned.
What wasn't planned was the chemistry between these two with the backdrop of the holiday season warming the story.
So excited for this Christmas story to be out in the world soon! Read on for an excerpt:
If she had to hide, this was as good a place as any. She hadn’t been too keen on Dalton’s idea, but when backed against a wall, a person did everything they could to stay alive.
“It’s just until after the first of the year,” Dalton said as if reading her thoughts.
“They found me in three days this last time.”
Dalton shifted in his seat and leaned his right elbow on the center console. “No one but me knows where you’ll be.”
No one should have known the times before, but they had. A chill raced down Emmy’s spine when she thought of the gun barrel that had been pointed at her head. The feel of the cool metal against her skin, her would-be murderer’s uneven breathing. Had Dalton not unexpectedly checked on her that night, she’d be dead.
“I’m going to find the leak,” Dalton vowed in a voice rife with anger and unease. “I’m going to find them and put an end to things.”
She swiveled her head to look at the marshal. “That may cost you your life.”
“We’re the good guys, Emmy. Or at least we’re supposed to be. Whoever is leaking your information needs to be reminded of that. I’m no fool, though. I’ll be careful.”
She quirked a brow. “How do you plan to do any of that if you aren’t returning to the office?”
It was one of the reasons she had agreed to this trip. After Dalton shot and killed the assassin sent after her, he had pulled her after him out of the hotel to his company vehicle and sped away. To her shock, Dalton had pulled into a parking garage and parked the car. They had jumped out and rushed away from the SUV. He then led her through the streets of Denver, telling her when to keep her head down and when to put her back to a camera so they couldn’t be picked up. That took them to an old, beat-up truck with tinted windows.
He reached into the back of the cab and pulled out a black duffle bag, tossing it onto her lap and ordering her to look through it. There were hats and wigs of all styles inside. Emmy made her choice. Surprisingly, it made her feel somewhat shielded.
Dalton swapped his Stetson for a ball cap, pulling it low. Then they drove away, Denver in the rearview mirror. On the road, he laid out a reckless, wild plan to take her to Montana. First, they would travel east, then south, then west, and finally north to big sky country.
Emmy had no idea if the plan was good or not. All she wanted was to stay alive. Dalton had saved her life. Maybe she was naïve to believe that she could trust him, but she knew she wouldn’t get very far on her own. So, she did everything he told her.
Every few hundred miles, they stopped at places he had other vehicles waiting. Inside each were three burner phones still in their packages. Dalton would open one, dial a number and simply push a button. Emmy later learned that those calls were to individuals who would make sure their previous vehicle disappeared. She didn’t ask how. She didn’t care if it meant that she lived to see another day.
She raised her brows, waiting for him to answer her question. Emmy knew if he returned to the marshals’ office in Denver, it would only be a matter of time until someone figured out what he had done with her.
“Don’t worry about me. I’m not stupid.” He snorted and shook his head. “I know it doesn’t appear that way. I suppose I put too much trust in my fellow marshals, but now I’ll be looking into everyone with a fine-tooth comb.”
“Just don’t get yourself killed. You’re the only one I trust.”
Review on behalf of Verve Romance.
If there is a Donna Grant cowboy romantic suspense to be had, I will be having it. More than once. She is one of my favorite authors for a very good reason: she writes edge-of-your-seat suspense that mixes just so with a blossoming love. In this one, Emmy finds herself in need of a safe place to hide from the men looking to silence her before a trial where she's set to testify, and that safe place is provided by Dwight, a trusted friend of her handler. The attraction hits hard and fast, but that doesn't mean all is well—the author takes great care to make sure that Emmy and Dwight get to know one and understand one another, and reading it felt both personal and exciting. There's a memorable scene or two with Dwight's sister, inescapable danger, some daredevil moves, and the goodest of good boys, Sam, and all that added to the HEA means an engaging romance that I would love to talk to someone, anyone about.
The second of my bonus reads accompanied Home for a Cowboy Christmas (two book cowboys—my life has reached its pinnacle), and it was short but sweet and satisfying. A stranded city girl is rescued from a blizzard by a true-blue cowboy and their opposites attract from the get-go. A little forced proximity and only one bed make this one move quickly but it's Christmassy and feel good and a neat little extra after the action-packed main novel.
I’ve always been a fan of holiday-themed stories, so when I saw that Donna Grant had one, I knew that I had to read it. I was actually quite surprised about the turn that this book took from the get-go. Normally, Christmas stories are slow-paced and charming. However, that’s not really the case with this book.
The heroine, Emmy Garrett, is on the run after witnessing a crime. So I didn’t feel as if this story had the same characteristics as a typical holiday book. It has a much faster pace and focused on a lot of other things other than Christmas. As a result, I didn’t feel like it was as festive as I would like. There are definitely other books that do a better job of conveying the cozy feeling.
Nevertheless, Grant combines suspense and romance together quite nicely in this book. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if it was just a regular story than a Christmas one. But I did still find that this story was still enjoyable and romantic.
LOVED this book!!! Emmy is a bookkeeper who witnesses a crime committed by a mob boss.. He intends to kill her to prevent her testifying against him. When Emmy enters witness protection, she thinks she'll be safe, until the mob assassin gets too close. The marshal whisks her away to an old friend of his on his Montana ranch. Dwight is happy to take Emmy in and protect her. As he protects her, their romance develops and Dwight will learn just how far he'll go to protect her - just as Emmy will learn just what she'll do for Dwight.
I loved the characters - Emmy is a sweet girl who gets caught up in something unintentionally, while Dwight is a tough guy who was first a military man before joining the FBI. They were likable and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and found myself engrossed in their tale.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant is a great book. The two main characters are hard not to fall in love with. Emmy is in witness protections outrunning the bad guys that want her dead before she can testify. Dwight is FBI, Homeland Security, and ex-alpha military all rolled into one super guy. Emmy is brought to Dwight's home as a safe house and for Dwight to protect. Donna Grant writes beautifully. In some of the scenes I felt like I was there at that moment she wrote with such detail. I think I need to visit Montana on my next vacation. I recommend this book to any one who wants to read a great romantic suspense book.
Christmas is supposed to be a time for warmth and family. Not for Emmy, unfortunately. When you witness a crime and the mob boss wants you gone, yeah, Christmas isn't going to be good. Until her US Marshal brings her to the ranch of the only man he can trust - Dwight Reynolds. Now this gorgeous, intense man with the kind of training needed to keep her alive, just may help make this a Christmas to remember, for both of them. IF he can keep her alive in time to testify, and if he can get her to give him her heart the way he quickly gives her his.
As holiday romances go, this one is great. It's got suspense, romance, and of course all the holiday spirit you could ask for. Dwight and Emmy fell quickly, but it felt organic, not over the top or forced, and the suspense helped keep the story moving along. Not that I'd wish to be on the run from mobsters, but all the other aspects of this holiday story make me wish Christmas were here already! 🎄
Home for a Cowboy Christmas definitely got me in the holiday mood early this year! This romance that is also filled with plenty of suspense was another great one from Donna Grant.
Emmy Garrett is in a difficult spot. She's the star witness for an upcoming trial and she's not on the run for her life. The US Marshal she's working with has decided to take her to a friend of his who owns a ranch in Montana. It's not a place people would look, so he feels she'll be safe there.
Dwight Reynolds knows how to take care of himself. He's former military, FBI and Homeland Security. He now runs the ranch that has been in his family for generations and he couldn't be happier. When he gets the call from his former college friend and colleague, he's all in to help Dalton and the woman who needs to be kept safe.
As Emmy deals with the trauma she's been through due to her circumstances, she and Dwight begin to grow closer. It gets to the point where it is too difficult for either one of them to deny what is growing between them. Will they be able to keep her alive in order to testify or will the bad guys win in the end?
I really enjoyed how this story unfolded. The romance felt organic to me and the suspense that was part of the storyline was well done and didn't feel forced. This was a book I read very quickly as I just had to know how it was going to end!
I recommend picking this one up!
Great heartwarming Christmas romantic suspense with spice. Insta-love, for me it was the right amount of spice. I enjoyed the story. Deciding to give her testimony against her mob boss client Emmy isn't safe with just anyone anymore. Enter Dwight. Military, FBI, Homeland Security Dwight is the perfect man to protect Emmy. He's also the perfect man for her in general. Two lonely people finally find each other if only Emmy can survive until the New Year.
I love these cowboy stories. These men take care of their women, the women are strong, don't get me wrong, but protection is a huge thing.
When Dwight has an old friend show up on his doorstep with a passenger Dwight will do whatever is necessary to keep his promise and protect her. What he doesn't know is who she is running from.
Read this amazing story of courage, persevering, and honor.
It wasn't exactly good but I also didn't have a bad time? 2.5 stars but what the hell, it's Christmas.
This was so incredibly dumb.
Some notes:
- Do most people not like both mayo AND mustard on their sandwiches? Is she some kind of weird anomaly? I like both mayo and mustard on my sandwiches. Does that make me an anomaly?
- "It's been a while since I've had a woman." 🤮
- "I'm not like most men." you did not.
- She microwaved water for tea AND used an electric kettle? Why?
- "The best thing you can do is go back in the house and wait."
"That's all I've been doing for weeks."
YES BECAUSE YOU ARE IN WITNESS PROTECTION
And speaking of witness protection, WHY IS SHE USING HER REAL NAME?? THIS IS NOT HOW THAT WORKS.
- "The judge moved up the trial when the DA proved your life was in imminent danger." Didn't we know her life was in danger? ISN'T THAT WHY SHE'S IN WITNESS PROTECTION????
- "Her voice never wavered, even when she was asked to point to Joe Roma." Well yeah. Cuz you doN'T NEED TO SPEAK TO POINT! Honestly this book could not let me go without saying one last absolutely ridiculous thing.
______
Anyway. This was a very dumb time but mostly it was fun. The sex scenes were decidedly un-fun though (authors I am begging you - please stop referring to female genitalia as "her sex," it is so icky).
I am convinced the author has never spoken to another person before because absolutely no one on this earth talks the way her characters do.
It is insta-love, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It's a super cute fluffy romance, with a little suspense. I liked the fact that all drama and angst wasn't from the couple not communicating.
