Hot Damned #14

Fashionably Dead and Loving It

Rate this book
Being an undead Princess comes with baggage. And unfortunately, it’s not Prada.

Getting shredded in the Daily Fang, The Bloody Times and The National Dhampir is par for the course in the life of a royal Vampyre—especially mine. However, that’s nothing compared to the sh%tshow unfolding in my life.

My nightmares are coming true.
Satan is throwing fits about changing diapers.
The Baby Demons are full of cryptic messages.
Martha and Jane have a sphincter obsession.
There’s a half-naked Demon in my closet with a mouth as foul as mine.
On top of all that, we’re hosting Demon-hating royal houseguests.

Oh, and did I mention the Vampyre-eating-Zombies on the west coast?

With Ethan by my side, along with new friends and a few well-hidden enemies, it’s time to adjust my crown, put a few Vampyres in their place, and kick some Zombie butt.

I’m dead.
Life is still good.
I have unconditional love.
And on most days, when I’m not covered in Zombie guts, I’m wildly fashionable.

Fashionably dead, that is, and loving it.

How is it possible this series keeps getting better and better!?!?!?!?! You will always count on an amazingly funny book when Robyn Peterman is writing! Astrid is BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! As always she is supported by her baby demons and her forever and beyond love Ethan. Then add to them more favorite memorable characters like Uncle F*c*er aka Satan, Mother Nature, and the undead tag team of Martha and Jane and you will have insanity at its best! Then there's the whole zombie thing plus some wonderful new characters and you can't go wrong. I can't wait to see where she takes these books next. They are undoubtedly my favorite to read and keep me laughing through the whole thing. You absolutely need this book to brighten up your holiday season and laugh into the new year. Read the gift that keeps on giving and get this book then if you haven't gotten the rest of the series hurry up and CLICK CLICK CLICK BUY!!!!

14 books in and this series never gets, old, it is definitely anything. But boring and got damn this series is f**cking awesome...

So many ass**les so little time... Zombies are half-tunred vampires... Is this part of a riddle or a clue...
Adteid has so much going on as usual and life is one rollercoaster after another then literally the s**t hits the fan from another direction...lol

You really have to watch for whip lash when Robyn is on point with her magically wacky stories and that is always. Anyone who loves a laugh, if you love inappropriate behaviour all in good fiction writing fun then any of Robyn;a books are for you I recommend them all but the Hot Damned series was were it all started for me many moons ago and I will always love Astrid, Ethan and their crazy mother-humpin loonyntunes family first and foremost.

I am so looking forward to the next riotous installment.

This book was awesome! It’s chock full of all the things I love about Robyn’s books. Magic, mystery, chaos, and of course romance. Not to mention the fact that it’s also hilarious. She always manages to bring the characters to life in such a way that you almost feel like you’re right there with them when everything is happening. That’s one of the hallmarks that I use to determine if I feel an author is good at their job. Robyn is not only good at it but absolutely fantastic at it! You won’t regret buying any of her books but particularly this series and this book.

Happily reconnected with a beloved heroine

The last of the series featuring Astrid as a main protagonist dates back to book 9.5, so let's say it: it was long overdue, and spending time with her and Ethan was all sorts of fabulous!

Add to that Uncle Fucker aka Satan, an appearance by Mother Nature, and a little bit of Baby Demons, plus some crazy Martha and Jane moments, and we're in for quite an adventure. Although I admit that I would've taken more Baby Demons and more Samuel. But I know this will be for a next time.

To top it off, the new characters are, simply, fabulous! I seriously loved Anastasia, Levi, and Vinnie!

Cue massive fits of giggles and laughs, and it was the perfect treat!

I never imagined I would love reading about Satan and his offspring, much less the weirdest Mother Nature ever. Add in a horrific pair of undead geriatric sisters and there you have it. The best darn series ever! It’s a zombie invasion like you never imagined that will make you think about wearing an adult diaper just as a precaution from the embarrassing side effects of too much hilarity! Another slam dunk success! All my reviews are always voluntarily written .

Hands down the best of the series so far! The hilarity knows no bounds. Astrid and Ethan have an evil plot to unravel and they won't face it alone. With the addition of fantastic new characters, and appearances by many fan favorites, this is one you will have to read straight through. I have added so many fabulously descriptive new words to my vocabulary thanks to Robyn Peterman!

What can you say? Hilarious. One liners that make you laugh so hard you snort.
Many old characters along with a couple new. This series will NEVER get old. Robyn Peterman once again goes above and beyond. Keep them coming. We are already waiting for the next!

Astrid has faced many foes in her undead life, but the current crop may get the best of her. Not only is she facing a zombie apocalypse and snooty vamps threatening to overthrow Ethan, but the press is raking her over the coals as well. Luckily Astrid has plenty of help taking down the bad guys. Mother Nature, Satan, Martha, and Jane are all there. Samuel and the baby demons also make an appearance. Astrid’s half-brother Levi and Ethan’s sister Anastasia join the group. To say their relationship is antagonistic is to say the least. Their story is the next in the series and I can’t wait! I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes their paranormal stories with a healthy dose of sometimes over-the-top humor.

I listened to the audiobook. Narrator Jessica Almasy does a phenomenal job on Astrid’s voice. I do not care for her voice for the male characters. All in all, I do recommend the audio version.

Its all starting with the weirdest nightmare that Astrid has ever had . With everything from Ethan and Satan making googly eyes at each other to the Vampyres that hate her . Mother nature swinging from the rafters and her butt being glued to the throne. What is a vampyre princess to do but figure out who is turning people into zombies and make nice with the demon in her closet and Ethan's family . She straightens her tiara and kicks some butt that is what she does .

Omg Astrid and the gang are back and honestly funnier then ever. Poor Astrid just wants to survive the weekend visit from all the snooty vampyres . She finds her inner princess in this installment and man the hilarity that ensues . She also has to handle Satan and his meltdown over his daddy duties which i will admit I nearly fell off the couch reading these two . Satan is just hilarious and still so self absorbed you will get a kick out of him . We also get to meet two new characters in Levi and Anastasia . Anastasia is Ethan's sister and has a wicked sense of humor . She is like the sister Astrid needs and wants . They are hilarious together. Then there is Levi who is Astrid's brother or as what Satan says . He is brooding and well he is sexy as sin also. He doesn't want to be anywhere near Astrid but they are forced to be together and they have to work together to get to the bottom of the zombies .

This is the fourteenth book in the series and it seems just as fresh as the first book . The author has a way of writing that will have you snorting with glee . The characters are well written and you will love them all . The story is a fun fast read that will have you laughing all night . I love how the universe keeps growing with each and every new character added . The two new characters Levi and Anastasia better get their own book cause you know they will be fighting right up till the end . This would be a great story to read and relax after all your Christmas shopping is done . So check it out and check out the series . You will not be disappointed

Another brilliant books in this series.

It seems to be set several years later. That was a little confusing. I overlooked it since I've only read the books that feature Astrid and Ethan and figured that the missing years were covered in the books I skipped.

4.5 Stars

I am not giving this book a full 5 star rating because there were a couple of things I didn't love about it. I don't love that Ethan seems to always need to be saved by Astrid. Many of my favorites are no longer part of this world and they were missed. There were also several missing words in sentences throughout the book.

I did like that, for once, there wasn't some crazy ho-bag from his past involved.

I also love, love, love Jane and Martha. I wasn't a fan of them in the beginning. It got to be too much, all the name calling between them and Pam. In this book, it took a turn when Astrid started calling them names back. Then you could see just how much they care about her and I started loving their characters.

I hate that Sammy isn't a baby anymore. He was so cute! He aged so fast, annoying.

The plot of this book was exciting and interesting. I love the world and characters she has created in this series.

Some of the new characters seem interesting but I'm not sure I care about them enough to read their stories.

It feels like the end, at least for Astrid and Ethan, and that makes me sad.

Astrid is back and better than ever! There's no rest for Cressida house in the 14th installment of the Hot Damned series. Astrid keeps making the vampyre gossip rags headlines, the household is prepping for a royal visit from Ethan's siblings, and there's trouble brewing on the west coast.

Disturbed by the crazy dream she had, Astrid is not amused when pieces of that dream start to happen. Meanwhile, her uncle (you know the one) has gifted her with...a demon, who is evidently along for the ride as Astrid tries to uncover who is creating zombies.

There were some amazing character introductions in Fashionably Dead and Loving it - an eccentric ancient vampyre who just may be one of my favorite characters that Robyn has written, a demon named Levi, a precious little girl who will do big things... So much potential for future books!

The conversations in the book, are off the charts hysterical This is a definite must read.

Like the last book felt like the end of Satan and Elle's HEA, this book felt very much like the conclusion to Astrid and Ethan's HEA.

Another crazy funny story with these cats of characters, with a few nice surprises for Astrid.

Cant wait to read Levi's book even though I am sad it is the last in the series.

It started with a dream. Ok, not exactly a dream, more like a nightmare. Not just any nightmare, but the weirdest nightmare ever. But hey, it’s only a dream, right? Not exactly. When Astrid the Princess of the North American Vampires and the Chosen one has dreams, they have a tendency of coming true. Everything will be fine….won’t it?
Now let’s mix in a visit by the sister and brother-in-law (and his side candy), 2 of the strangest undead ever created, some baby demons, and a few other relatives (Satan and Gaia) and what do you get? Chaos, what did you expect?
Join Astrid, Ethan, Sammy, and the gang for the craziest installment of the Hot Damned Series yet...Fashionably Dead and Loving it. So grab your crown, glue your butt to your throne, and indulge in some fun craziness. You won’t be sorry. I promise you.

First off I want to mention I am a huge fan of Robyn Peterman’s work! I absolutely love her stories, they delight and entertain me greatly! Her Hot Damned Series is one of my favorites, so I was delighted when Fashionably Dead and Loving It was finally out! Astrid, our favorite Immortal Undead Princess, and her super hot mate, Prince Ethan show us how being a Royal isn’t always fun and games, especially when the press and family is involved. And what a family! Things definitely get interesting for our heroine with Zombies on the loose and meeting more of Ethan’s siblings for the 1st time. I laughed and cheered for my favorite Prada-loving vampyre girl as she once again navigates her way through her crazy life and crazy family.

Another great paranormal rom-com by Robyn Peterman , Robyn is one of my all-time favorite authors. I know when I read her books that I am in for a treat and plenty of laughter. This book didn’t disappoint, it has it all a great romance with quirky characters, lots of laughs and plenty of crazy shenanigans. This is the fourteenth book in the Hot Damned Series and it is just as good if not better than the other books in this series. All of our favorite crazy characters are back in this book. I don’t want to give anything away but if you want so laugh your ass off then this is the book to read. You might as well start with the first book so you can read and understand the shitshow you are reading. It is fabulous and I can’t put these books down until the end!

Astrid and Ethan are Vampyre mates and royalty. Running the family biz is rough, particularly when some of the fam is tough to handle. So when there is a breakout in their terrority during a family visit, things turn ugly. Things are tense with Ethan’s brother Wilhelm and his new gal, but seem to sort of balance out with Astrid’s new sister in law delightful Anastasia, and intriguing with Astrid’s visiting brother Levi.

Thankfully Astrid’s side of family, gorgeous and bizarre grandmother Mother Nature and yes, THAT Uncle Satan, somehow hilarity and hijinks ensue, even with the zombie apocalypse attempting to blast through L.A.

As with all books Robyn Peterman written, a hoot and a half! Entertaining story, delightful characters and an absolutely worthwhile read

Our favorite crew is back on the scene and ready to rock! Favorite characters make their appearances, helping in their own “special” ways (you heard the quotes, right?) Uncle F***er is adjusting to fatherhood with Luke, two of Ethan’s siblings are in town, zombies are wreaking havoc, a very familiar looking demon is hiding in the (literal) closet, and Astrid is glued to a throne? Oh no, wait – that’s a dream, or is it?

I love this series, and this latest installment does not disappoint! As usual, Robyn Peterman combines humor, snark, and action; all with an undercurrent of love and affection. No marsupials were harmed during the course of events, and Astrid’s crown is fabulous!

She's BA-ACK!

Astrid and the gang are back! Toss in bizarre dreams, the fact that zombies are involved, and the greatest cast of characters and you'll be laughing out loud! Robyn Peterman has crafted an amazing world in which Satan is lovable (if naughty), Mother Nature is a pole dancer, and vampyres are the coolest guys and gals on the block. Toss in the baby demons that I know *I* want in my life, crazy adventures, more trouble than should be possible, and creative cursing, and and you've got a book you won't want to put down. Jump into the Fashionably Dead universe (again) and hang out with your favorite gal, Astrid!

Fine point. Well made. OMG! Bob Smith? BOB SMITH???? Hilarious. I’m crying. I’m shaking so hard from laughing, I’m just crying. It took me 5 minutes to calm down so I could read the rest of the page. Every book in this series just gets better and better. I would love a peek in Robyn Peterman's mind. It must be the craziest madhouse and she has a special knack of making all those crazies come out to play in the very best of ways. Don't wait. Don't stop. Just pick up this book and don't expect to put it down until you're laughing so hard you can't see thru the tears. Buy this NOW! You won't regret it. And then you'll know who Bob Smith is too.

I can never got enough of the humor and books by Robyn Peterman! This book is an excellent mystery! What starts out with a dream evolves into a story with plenty of twist and new characters. You will meet a relative of Astrid and a few of Ethan’s. Do not forget the romance of Astrid and Ethans but the new one that will develop. Must not forget the two batty ladies Martha and Jane. We will find they are known by many and loved by all.
Best of all you will learn new words which replace swears but are cleaner, lol! Do I recommend this book, oh yes! It gets more than five stars. Oh, I must not forget that Satan has an interesting part in the book and gets much needed advice. Enjoy!

Love the series

I gave 4 Stars where I usually give 5. I would normally give 10 if I could. But, this book was a little disappointing. The reason being it wasn't up to pare with the rest of the series. The only reason being that the others are so hilariouis, I laugh so much I cry. Maybe, I just wasn't in the mindset to read it right now. You know how you finish a book that is really good that in another genre and it ends and you look for something just as good . I think that may be the problem because I absolutely love Robyn Peterman, especially her Hot Damn series. So, I would still highly recommend the whole series.

Peterman’s opening Dedication of this book:

“For Astrid. You are the first heroine I ever wrote. You gave me confidence. I will keep you.”

Great read! Astrid kicks all kinds of booty and I do mean “all kinds” as in vampyre, demon, fairy, etc.

This opens with Astrid standing naked in front of a room of thousands and Satan is sitting on Ethan’s lap eating popcorn. Mother Nature is missing a leg which is noticed by Astrid after Mother slid down a stripper’s pole.

Yep, so goes the life of Astrid the princess vampyre.

Something very special occurs… actually TWO special things occur and both have love involved.

Great read, indeed!

Next is book 15 Fashionably Dead and Demonic.

Astrid is back and having dreams about tiaras, Zombies and her grandmother. What a strange combination. Are Zombies real? Should she be wearing a tiara? She finds out. And along the way Ethan and Astrid host a royal party, the undead tabloids have a field day. We meet new characters, Anastasia and Levi. The baby demons are back with strange messages. Martha and Jane are in fine form with a new obsession. Satan and Mother Nature are part of it all too. This crazy world is one of my favorites.

I’ve always loved Astrid and her family. It was so nice to go on this journey with them as they fought zombies and tried to figure out who’s trying to make a play for power. While all this mayhem is happening Uncle Satan is trying to adjust to his new daddy duties. Hahaha. Needless to say there were lots of surprises.
Their new adventure had me laughing, swooning and feeling all kinds of emotions for them. I loved the introduction of Levi and Anastasia. They are wonderful characters. I hope to see more of them in future books.
I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Another fantastic read from Robyn,we're thrown into Astrid's nightmares that hilarious in itself but freaks her out to no end, when the nightmares start becoming reality she knows she needs help to solve the mystery, she also has to deal with her uncle having tantrums and been introduced to the vampire royals, add in a new brother who's broody and hates her on sight, Astrid does it all in her style and bringing her princess to the front, with hilarious results and comical moments that will have you laughing out loud

A big thank you to the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is number 14 in a series, but happily it reads well as a stand alone. Of course you know things have happened to make the characters as they are but totally readable as a first. This book will make you giggle and smile and outright laugh at "fake news"!!!Astrid and Ethan are at in again. A wild romp filled with fun and craziness. If you looking for a serious read this is not for you. If you need some laughter and love yep this is it! Enjoy! I hope you love it as much as i! 5 stars

Fan-freakin-tastic!

Oh Lord I lol many, MANY times, because the characters and story are wonderfully written.

The 'boob down' between Anastasia, Martha and Jane had me cackling like a mad woman, well more than my normal madness 😁, and writing the words down 😂😂😂😂😂

Satan's wardrobe is getting a make over 😅😅

Someone's been making Zombies, someone's been telling lies to the 'media'.

All in all this someone's peeing off Astrid and that's never good.

I'm so in love with this potty mouthed bunch 💖💖💖
