She trained to kill demons...now she's becoming one.
While fleeing the Castle of Nigh and her own execution, Halira was bitten by a demon of the Shadowthorn.
Such a wound would kill any mere human. But Halira's not just human. And her newly-discovered druid heritage will protect her...for now.
It's up to Halira and the mysterious half-demon man she's stumbled upon to find the cure before the demon toxin runs its course and kills them both.
Blighted Heart is the second book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn trilogy, a gothic high fantasy series about the demon hunters of Arcathain and their mission to reclaim their lands from the Primordial Qaeus. With a strong female lead, epic world-building, Lovecraftian immortal creatures, and a budding enemies-to-lovers romance, this series is perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Elise Kova, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Cameo Renae.
Join the Shadow Crusaders and plunge into this grim, ethereal world.

Were you on the fence whether to continue the series? Hesitate no more! Did you like the first book? You will enjoy this one even more!
The second installment in Primordials of Shadowthorn trilogy improves on all sides. It has richer world-building, more character development, better romance and builds the tension more successfully. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of reading this book.
Many fascinating elements were added to the world-building, making the series even more compelling than the first installment. It builds on the already established skeleton of this fictional universe and skillfully weaves in new threads. My favourite part was learning about the druid magic. As I, as a reader, gained understanding of the history and previously obscured pieces of the puzzle, I felt more invested in the story.
The novel was really exciting, both because it was fast-paced and rich in action, but also because it played heavily on my heartstrings.
I was particularly impressed with the character development, especially for our main character, Halira. Even if she continued grating on my nerves a bit in the beginning, she finally started changing as the story progressed. She begun to think over her decisions and trust herself rather than constantly rely on her questionable boyfriend. An important part of that was also the romance thread.
What added even more value to my reading experience were complicated family relations, which were quite realistic. Families can be difficult and I'm tired of seeing idealistic portrayals of familial bonds.
Now, where do I start with this book? Let’s get the obvious out of the way first: I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!!!!
And then? There’s not really much else to say… 😂 Okay, but jokes aside, this #bookreview will contain lots of gushing, because I honestly can’t seem to find anything negative in the story. I loved it. The plot is fantastic. The characters are well developed and lovable. The action scenes are really well written. There’s this little slow burning romantic spark. There are obstacles the main character has to overcome and overall the journey Halira goes through in this book is really well thought through.
That is basically the short version. For more details keep on reading. 😋
Usually when there’s some time between different installments in a series it might take me a few chapters to fully be in the story again and remember all the characters, names and what happened last. The faster the story grips me again, the better a book is written. In the case of #BlightedHeart ? It took me just a few pages for everything to click in my mind. That only shows how much of an impression #ShadowCrusade (book 1 in the #PrimordialsOfShadowthornSeries ) really left on me. Spoiler: A big one!! 🖤
There was exactly one thing that confused me in the beginning, keyword: inaudible speech - I won’t say more than that to avoid spoilers for everyone that hasn’t read book 1 yet. I was caught a little off guard, because I felt like the inaudible speech didn’t seem to be inaudible anymore, but leave it to Jessaca to explain everything in a timely manner, because soon all the confusion was taken away by some explaining on what exactly happened and a huge lightbulb lit up over my head.😂💡
My favourite character in this book was definitely Ryven and I loved all his interactions with Halira. Frankly speaking, Ryven was my hero in so many scenes and I had quite a few fangirl moments involving him. lol I loved how we got to know him better, but I also loved seeing how Halira grew through him. He gave her confidence, he told her that she was great the way she was and he accepted her just like that. Something I was really missing in Dimitri… All this ultimately resulted in Halira accepting herself as well and she definitely had some character development to show off. Her overall development didn’t make as big steps as in book 1 (she really grew there!!!), I feel like in book 2 that former development was rather shaped a little more. She lost the rough edges and found her place. Now, I do get that this might sound a little cryptic, but that is just the feeling I got while reading and I really really liked it!
Another… rather surprising development was actually another character. And I don’t want to mention his name, because again, spoiler potential, but I really liked seeing a sort of camaraderie shape between him and Halira. I never would’ve thought I might ever like his character, but I loved this change and I am excited to see where this new friendliness will lead in #ImmortalReturn .
That being said, yes book 2 ends on a big cliffhanger. Yes, I can barely wait for book 3. And yes, I am probably going to inhale that one in just 2 days, exactly like I did Shadow Crusade and Blighted Heart.
Dear Jessaca, thank you for this masterpiece. I still have to check out your other series, but please never stop writing.😂 You have a gift!❤️
If you thought Shadow Crusade was amazing just wait until you start this book! We pick up after the events of Shadow Crusade and the action does not stop. This was such a wonderful and fast paced book, I did not want to put it down. The world and story that Jessaca created is one of my favorites to read about!
Halira's journey to acceptance is so amazing, I really loved seeing her deal with what was forced upon her and refusing to sit idly by as everyone else tries to solve the problem. Her journey through the Shadowthorn was wonderful and I really enjoyed getting to see more parts of this world. We also get to learn about some new magic that was touched upon in the first book and its wonderful.
If you loved Shadow Crusade then you will want to grab this book immediately.
Don't mind me, just here to let folks know that the next book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn series has released! And you're going to like it even more than the first 😉especially if you were at all intrigued by the mysterious demon-guy who kept swinging by.
WOW! A whirlwind of adventure as Halira fights tooth and nail to remove the cursed blight from herself in order to not turn into a demon. She is a survivor and certainly proved it to me.
I really loved the introspective, romantic way that Jessaca wrote these characters. They are fighting to feel normal, accepted, not just by others, but within themselves. It made their journey feel real. Human. Not just a bunch of action or search for a magical cure. There is all that, but they are also healing their hearts and minds in the process.
So much better than the first book!! At first I was skeptical about continuing this series but I gave it a chance and I’m glad I did. While Shadow Crusade had some elements that interested me, the plot came off mediocre. But Blighted Heart blew me away!! It gave me everything the first book didn’t. Blighted Heart actually brought out a lot of emotions in me that I didn’t expect. And when a book can bring out emotions such as anger, sadness, etc..that’s how you know it’s a good book. Some of the scenes brought me to tears. Literally. Jessica Willow did an excellent job with this one and I cannot wait for what’s in store for the finale.
“Blighted Heart” is the second book on the dark epic high fantasy trilogy “Primordials of Shadowthorn” by Jessaca Willis, whose MC (Halira) is a member of the Shadow Crusade, a group of warriors that scour every inch of the reign slaying every surviving Primordial to end their reign of terror. The Primordials, monstrous demons that terrorize the lands, murdered Halira’s parents and she will not stop until the last one of them is gone.
Halira is in Shadowthorn, struggling with the aftermath of the demon attack and the poisonous consequences of the bite. While her uncle is trying to help her, Halira knows that she needs to find a cure for the sickness on her own, and thus embarks into a journey in search of the cure, with a half-demon on her side and her own stubborn and relentless character as an extra weapon.
Jessaca Willis storytelling is captivating and fast-paced, the reader falls right into the action, and becomes part of the quest for the cure. The world of “Primordial of Shadowthorn” is rich, well-crafted, populated by with relatable characters facing overwhelming tasks in a very credible manner, intended into achieve the best possible outcome. The story is exceptionally well-written in Willis’ unmistakably and unique style.
After reading the “Reapers of Veltuur” Trilogy, I was in awe about a new series, because let us be flank, it’s almost impossible to improve perfection 😊. Nevertheless, Jessaca Willis has once more gifted us a high original dark epic fantasy series, that adds another breath of fresh air to the genre. Whether you are already acquainted with the aforementioned “Reapers of Veltuur” series or new to this author, you will highly rewarded with an intelligent, entertaining story, that mixes elements of fantasy, folklore, myth, gothic tale and epic fantasy into a wholly satisfactory story that transcends the boundaries of fiction, it might be gothic epic dark fantasy, but it’s the very fabric of human nature as well.
Fast-paced, dark fantasy, demonism, mystic. A good pack emotion-provoking read!
When I read Shadow crusade by Jessaca Willis, it kept me engrossed and left me wanting to read more and wondering if Halira really died… however, Blighted heart did not fail to pick up exactly where Shadow crusade ended. curiosity satisfied…
In Blighted Heart, you get pulled into a world of darkness that contains monsters with scary teeth and shiver-worthy descriptions. You journey with Halira as she stumbles and falls but picks herself up while selflessly sacrificing herself so others can survive.
The book is fast-paced, humorous, that belongs to too many genres that you are reading a well-packed book in one sitting if you can manage that.
From the first book, we know Halira as a strong impulsive character, but the most awarding attribute is her selflessness. She is so relatable and selfless, where she does not care for herself all she worries about is getting answers and keeping everyone safe. She does not want anyone to get hurt or sacrifice themselves for her. Which Ryven is set to do all the time. Having her back when she needs him, even when she doesn’t. She thinks fast and analyses information quickly that makes you believe she has a higher calling in life. Her journey is of heart thrilling experiences that make you cheer and shed so many tears for her when she realizes her true worth.
If you were not impressed with Dimitri and felt like Halira deserves better as I do, then this is the book…Rayven deserves her. He sees her for who she is and does not stop her from achieving what she wants. Many times he sacrifices his safety for hers just to know she is safe. The perfect companion. For some reason, he gives me Titanic feels. He matches her so thoroughly. Loyalty, acceptance, respect, fierce protector. The close encounters ….smoking hot... the scenes between Halira and Ryven. just prepare to laugh or take some time out to cry with the heart-wrenching moments.
I have to mention Alphonse if ever a character can annoy, annoy, spike interest, is this man right here. “Despite what you may think of me, I do not enjoy being a monster.’- Alphonse
I thought we saw the last of him in Shadow cursed, I mean what is the purpose of him being in the second book? He comes across as a self-righteous person and as a leader of the Crusaders he sure gets scared and runs away and looks out for himself first…. A lot. But shockingly I find myself hoping there is more story about him.
The blighted heart is such an inspiring, delightful book to read, that words are not enough to describe it fully and adequately. Jessaca Willis has a way with words that goes with all best sellers. I fully recommend you start with her first book in this series called “Shadow Crusade” to enjoy this book fully and get the experience…
Blighted Heart is the second book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn trilogy. It picks up right where Shadow Crusade left off, when Halira was bitten by a demon, she is taken inside the Shadowthorn, to a place where her uncle and aunt try desperately to help her. Halira is tenacious, fierce and stubborn, so when there may be a chance to find a cure for her sickness, she sets out on a quest with the help of a half-demon man. I thought Blighted Heart was a great read and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
I am really enjoying this series and this book just made me even more invested.. in the story line, the characters.. all of it. Character growth is steady and just keeps getting better and better. There was one aspect right off the bat that had me a little confused because I felt it was a 180 of how a character was acting from book 1.. but that got better and more enjoyable.
Can't wait for book 3!! I can't wait to see how this all plays out!!
Gah! I thought I loved Shadow Crusade... but I love this book even more! It picks up right where Shadow Crusade left off and man it just jumps right into the action. I seriously cannot wait for Immortal Return! I'm team #nospoilers so I'm not going to give anything away, but I highly recommend this series!
If you enjoyed Shadow Crusade you are going to love Blighted Heart. There is much more world building and I really enjoyed Halira’s growth. I’m not gonna lie, I really wanted to know more about Ryven and this book did not disappoint. He’s definitely swoon worthy😍 Blighted Heart does end with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for Immortal Return!
Jessaca willis has completely outdone herself with this second book in the primordial of shadowthorn series. We're back in the story, right where book one ends and just wow. This second book was fast paced and had lots of action and suspense that I didn't want to put it down. The first book set the scene and this second book took everything up a notch and blew it apart. I'm in awe in this amazing fantasy world, with characters that are so well designed, a plot that's really well thought out and the writing that makes you feel entwined with the story. Phenomenal! Can't recommend this book enough!
I absolutely love Jessaca’s writing and Blighted Heart is no exception. The added world building really added to my enjoyment of this book. It worked so well with what was laid down in book 1! And the character development of Halira was excellent!
I’ll keep this as spoiler free as I possible can cuz this is the second book to the series Halira has just lost everything near and dear to her and is coming to terms that their is more to the world then what she was left to believe a secret her mother kept from her and her sister who in fact learned a bit more of their Families secret past then she realize.
She’s tossed into an impossible scenario and next to a broading half wing demon man who honestly isn’t half bad.... Halira is such a strong character who is fierce and yet not selfish she loves so fiercely who can’t love her? I won’t say much but if you want a book with a surprise romance, definitely enemies to kinda sorta maybe lovers 👀 but a twist with a childhood romance from the part loaming in the corner and a story that involved druids and mages and a badass with an ax this is for you....
Blighted Heart is the second book in the new adult Dark Gothic Fantasy Primordials of Shadowthorn series by Jessaca Willis. While, I enjoyed Shadow Crusade, I liked Blighted Heart even more! I was easily drawn in to Jessaca Willis' fantastic writing, everything in this story flowed really well. It is a pretty dark book and there are some graphic battle scenes featuring some gruesome deaths, so be warned about that. If that is a trigger for you, then you might want to try a different book, but if you are not put off by that, I think The Primordials of Shadowthorn series is a fantastic read for fans of dark fantasies. I am already itching to read something else by this author.
Blighted Heart picks up right after the events at the end of Shadow Crusade. Where our main character, Halira has to try and find a solution for something that happened to her.
At the end of Shadow Crusade, she was bitten by a demon whose bite is poisonous to her.
With Halira essentially cursed, she sets out on her own with a friend to go on a quest of her own to try and find a solution. She also has help from her aunt and uncle, but I really appreciated and enjoyed the quest plotline of Blighted Heart, especially now that we were much more familiar with the world. I thought the plot was a step up from the first book. It was fast paced and felt like a great cohesive novel. In my opinion, Blighted Heart is a better novel than Shadow Crusade, which is great because I really enjoyed Shadow Crusade.
Fans of the first book will love this second installment. I am already itching to get my hands on the next (and final I think) book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn series. Be warned, this series is graphic and dark but it is also awesome! I love the characters, but the star in this series is the world. I love how Jessaca Willis has created a vibrant and creepy landscape. The Shadowthorn is honestly terrifying and I can't get enough of it.
I absolutely loved the first in this series, SHADOW CRUSADE, and it ended on a pretty major cliffhanger, so I was eager to dive into this one. And oh my gosh, it was basically non-stop action for the whole book and I loved it! I read this in almost one sitting, and that never happens for me these days, so that's saying something. I think of you like dark fantasy with romance, conflicting ideas of good/bad and right/wrong, and lots of interesting magic, then you must read this series. This book is just so much fun!
My new favorite character is Ryven. The best thing about him is how he accepts Halira exactly how she is, and helps her grow in her own confidence in who she is, what her strengths are, and never needing to hide or apologize for anything about herself. This is such a nice change from what her relationship with Dimitri was like. So in addition to loving Ryven, I also really liked Halira's continued journey and growth.
There were some fun plot twists and relationships that grew in ways that surprised me. I love that Willis writes the story with the possibility for relationships to change, for there to be redemption, or for characters to realize that they might have been wrong about each other and grow from there. You don't always see that in these stories, but I love how NOT black and white it is.
My only complaint was that sometimes I felt like the writing was a little stilted and hard to follow. It could benefit from a bit more editing and some cleaning up of the flow and the way the action is described. But this might have more to do with my own personal preferences regarding style. It's certainly not a deal breaker and didn't ruin the book for me at all!
It totally ended on a cliffhanger so thank goodness I don't have to wait long for the third book to come out. I can't wait to devour it and see how the story ends!!
Blighted Heart is the fast-paced and exciting sequel to Shadow Crusade, where our heroine, Halira, has survived being attacked by a demon only to find that demon toxin now runs through her veins. Now Blighted, Halira must travel to the land of the druids to find a cure before she becomes like the very demons that she used to fight. Along with the Ryven, the half-demon who killed her parents, and the always charming Alphonse, Halira travels to the Eyve on an impossible quest to save herself, but as Halira gets closer to finding a cure, everything she thought about who she is and the events of her past is challenged, and she finds that the only way to truly save herself is to accept who she is and the acceptance of those around her. What can I say about this series? The characters are fun and complex, the worldbuilding is exquisite, and the stakes are high in this wonderfully fast-paced follow up to Shadow Crusade. Halira's journey was really rewarding as she wrestles with new truths about herself and her past. She is a fiercely determined protagonist that breathes a lot of life into this series. I really enjoyed her developing relationship with Ryven much more than I liked Dmitri in the first book, and I think that they are great together. Ryven is very broody and tortured and I love him too. I'm glad we got to see the expanded world-building in this novel and got to learn more about the Broken Realms and the druids. I also enjoyed how Halira's relationship with Alphonse develops in this book and how the two of them banter along with each other. The Primordials of Shadowthorn series is one of those underrated gems that I very highly recommend, one about embracing who you truly are in a world that rejects you.
Ok, let me get the hard stuff out of the way first. I really don’t like how Halira talks about and sees herself, because it doesn’t portray her as strong or driven, but “foolish” and “reckless” (her words). Surely there are others words that could be used, like driven, to show that she is willing to do what needs to be done no matter what others think, instead of perpetuating this belief that girls who do what they think is right are “reckless” or “foolish”. That really, really bothered me. I know that’s not the message the author is trying to spread, so I’m hoping maybe Halira can gain confidence in herself and use more appropriate words to describe herself, and realize that doing what she believes is right doesn’t make her foolish or stupid.
Now that that’s out of the way, here’s what I liked: The development of relationships between Halira and another character she viewed as an enemy her whole life, as well as the development and growth between her and Ryven. Ryven’s guilt and pain are consuming him, and it’s only Halira who seems to be able to drag him out of it sometimes. They had to go through a lot to realize how they felt about each other, and I’m hoping there will be a happy ending.
Even though Kalli is still a cold and calculating older sister, she is doing what she thinks she needs to do to save Halira, so I liked seeing that fierce, protective side of her, too.
There’s a lot to like about this book, and the world keeps expanding to include more groups of people and viewpoints. If Halira can stop talking about herself as if she’s foolish and reckless, then the next book will be perfect!
🔗🔗ONE TUMULTUOUS WHIRLWIND🔗🔗 Screaming skeeters scooby! Jessaca hit the motherload unleashing one helluva incredibly, turbulent rock-her-world boot-stomping smackdown with this tantalizing rollercoaster with all the badassery and sass, laying it on thick and spreading it thin, launching this jewel to new heights. Misfortune and escapades run amuck, exhibiting this action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, nailbiting, spine tingling, block busting dynamo, revving up the exuberance and feriousity, melding this gem together seamlessly. Shocking events and stunning mishaps descend in a tempest of perceptive calculations and expert strategy, frayed boundaries and sketchy lines merge as the limitations are amplified and tested, attentive to the perilous twists and deadly turns unfolding, catapulting this baby to life flawlessly. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Fantastic job Jessaca, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
What I Did Like: -Halira finding her strength. In the first book of this series I commented that she gave me major damsel-in-distress vibes. Well, she’s outgrowing that and I love it. Sure, she still relies on others when she needs to, but hints of her own strength are coming through and that’s just amazing. -Much better male lead this time around. Again, in the first one I commented that I wasn’t a fan and didn’t think I could trust the male lead. Halira is coming to that conclusion as well, it seems. This time around she’s traveling with a different group of companions and I love this male lead. I want only good things for him. -Hints of what’s to come. This book does exactly what you’d want for the second in a trilogy. It brings in elements of the world you learned about in book 1, answers questions you still had, and leaves you with hints about what is coming next.
Who Should Read This One: -Dark fantasy fans, this one took a great turn! Demons, magic, adventure, and a tiny amount of budding romance all add up to make this a perfect second book in the series.
My Rating: 4 Stars. This dark fantasy book is absolutely what I wanted it to be! Fans of the genre should NOT miss this one.
Blighted Heart. { Halira believed demons to be evil. She trained to kill them, to end the blight, and restore peace to the world. But some things don't go as planned . . . }
Blighted Heart is book two of the Primordials of Shadowthorn trilogy and picks up right where book one { Shadow Crusade } left off. This action packed adventure is fast paced and full of excitement that keeps you turning the pages.
The world the author has created is full of magic and exciting characters - especially Ryven. The characters in Blighted Heart are strong and their personalities so well written that even the ones you originally didn’t like start to grow on you throughout the book making it a great read.
I have to say the ending was so shocking that I have no idea what to expect for book three and can’t wait to see where Halira’s adventure is going to take us next. Both Shadow Crusade and Blighted Heart are amazingly written fantasy books and would make a perfect edition to anyones shelf!
Blighted heart is the second book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn triology. I absolutely loved the first book, and I loved this one even more!!
Halira is everything I want in a MC. She is courageous and stubborn and has a heart that cares and keeps on caring through everything. In this book we continue almost exactly where the first one ends which I like. Some books have spacial gaps from sequel to sequel, but I like that this one picks right back up.
I was SOOOO glad that there was very little Dimitri in this book and more Ryven. *le sigh* love me some Ryven... Dimitri? Still hate him.
We learn a lot more about Halira and Kallis mother and their heritage which is really nice. It sort of starts to all come together and make more sense.
I still have some questions but I’m sure they will be answered in the 3rd one. Jessaca Willis books are becoming one of my favorite to read and am looking forward to the next one!
This is an explosive second edition to one fast paced series. This will capture and lure you in. From beginning to conclusion things are happening that cause huge changes for Halira as she's constantly forced to adjust and reform herself to keep going.
This picks up right from where we're left in the first book. Screepy things are happening left and right and Halira has to let certain ideals go to embrace a new destiny. She's not alone and that complicates matters of the heart as she's drawn more and more to a being that she never thought she could view in a different light. Working with limited means and time, it's one journey after another.
This storytelling is unique and mesmerizing. We are given some very emotional scenes that will stick with you. Ms. Willis is one must read author who will give you unexpected twists while throughly entertaining you.
I have to say I enjoyed book 2 more then book 1 because hello Ryven!!
I loved reading about Halira and Ryvens relationship and watching it grow. Ryvens character is beautifully written, with a tragic past and a bleak present.
Haliras story progressed nicely, learning of her heritage and finally getting to a point of acceptance in her life. She was a fierce, unrelenting, selfless main character, who was easy to root for.
Haliras family drove me crazy at times, but I liked that she wasn’t made to have a perfect family. They have turbulence and rivalries and secrets just like most families have and maybe a little extra thrown on top to make it interesting.
The world building & magic system was crafted better in this book, letting the reader really immerse themselves in this fantasy world.
This series continues to develop well, picking up right where the first one left off. Like the first, it is action packed and always keeping you on your toes. I liked this one even more than the first, and really enjoyed the shift in characters. I was so glad to see more of Ryven – he was definitely a fun character to have around, and I much preferred him to a character from the first book.
I also loved seeing more depth in the secondary characters – many of them grow throughout this book and it was really neat to see them working together. While a huge part of this book is a journey/quest, it remains page-turning. I loved seeing how everything developed and while that cliff-hanger may have killed me a little, I really enjoyed this book! Can’t wait to get my hands on the last one.
Blighted Heart is the second book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn. This immediately picks up where the last book left off. I started this book this morning and just finished it. I could not put it down. The thrill of all of the action and suspense was insanely amazing. Plus, Jessaca is a legit queen at epic worldbuilding with amazing storytelling. Fantastic story!! Fans of dark, high fantasy NEEDS to read this series...like yesterday!
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
Blighted Heart was just awesome! I stopped at several parts to reread a paragraph or two because I found the world building, magic or twist of events to be so creative and brilliant! We see Halira starting to come into herself and I rather like how her bonds with the remaining members of her family evolved in this book. I also particularly loved the bits of banter and the tension between her and Ryven - I'm hoping in the next book we get a bit of steam! That ending is killing me though... I am not OK! Oh the anxiety! I need book 3 ASAP!
A huge thank you to Jessaca Willis and Book of Matches Media for the e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
Blighted Heart is the second book in the Primordials of Shadowthorn series. Holy cow this book picks up right where Shadow Crusade left off and takes you right into the action. I absolutely love authors that create unique worlds and Jessaca delivers, while book 1 gave us a taste of how this world is shaped book 2 really expands on it. Without giving away any spoilers, this book goes further into depth on the character development and the relationships with Halira.
If you loved Shadow Cursade you will love the second installment of this series.
I am falling in love with this series more and more!!!
This book picks up right where the first one ends and it's like hitting the ground running! With the non-stop action/world/magic everything it's as if these books were seamlessly glued together but somehow broke apart.
I really loved learning more about the demon guy!! Also we learn more about some "new" magic, well new to us not new to the world!! I love the foreshadowing that happens from book 1 to book 2 and you can see how they all just mold together.
I can't WAIT to start the next book!! I am hooked and I can't stop!
