Alien Boyfriend for Christmas

Rate this book
She paid him to be hers for the holidays.

Isabel can’t wait to return to Earth for Christmas. Her dream job as the lead botanist on Niri was worth traveling across the galaxy, but she’s not going to miss out on the trappings of her favorite holiday. Not to mention she misses everyone back home. Everyone except her ex, of course. She’ll do everything she can to avoid seeing him again but running into him around town is inevitable.

Verrik is tired of the monotony of his day-to-day life on Niri. He works long days as an electrician to try to get ahead and save what money he can. One day he hopes to be able to support a family of his own but as an orphan, his opportunities are limited. The one good thing that comes from his current job is meeting the unique, curvy little botanist from Earth.

She’s headed back to Earth for the holidays. He’s ready for his own adventure. Her suggestion to be her fake alien boyfriend is unconventional, but the payment is too good to pass up. When the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur, they find themselves navigating unexplored territory.

Can a Niri Alien and Earth female find a way to make a relationship work for real?

Alien Boyfriend for Christmas is a standalone sci-fi romance full of steam with no cheating, no cliffhanger and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Sweet and low angst palette cleanser alien romance that's not heavy on the world building. Isabel (h) works on another planet with Verrik (H), she's a botanist and he's an electrician. She's about to go home for the holidays and wants someone to come with her as she'll be seeing her ex for the first time since their breakup a year prior. Verrik agrees to come home with her for money he needs to improve his circumstances on his planet (he's an orphan and his society is very stratified where orphans are low on the rung). Once they're spending more time together, they quickly bond and fall in love. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow drama, but om drama from h's ex who keeps popping up. H was a virgin and h was not so there are some "teaching" steamy scenes.

I thought both Isabel and Verrik were good characters with developed backgrounds and goals. I never fell in love with them though. Theirs was a slower build to the romance and the steamy times as they became vulnerable with and supportive of each other. Isabel's parents were fun and sweet while her ex and his family were awful. Most of the book does take place on Earth over the Christmas holiday and those details were excellent as Isabel shared the holiday with Verrik. I very much enjoyed the epilogue, which was 2 years into the future and adorable. There were some editing errors, like being unclear who was speaking at times, that took me out of the story in places. Cute alien reads that are shorter though are crucial to my happiness though lol.

I’m putting this in the high 3 stars and rounding up. Cute little take on fake dating but with an alien at Christmas time. Isabel is a botanist who lives on the foreign planet of Niri and finds out her ex-boyfriend will be attending her family holiday party when she returns to Earth for a Christmas visit. She offers Verrik, an electrician she works with, a thousand credits in exchange for him accompanying her and pretending to be her boyfriend. Verrik agrees so he can save enough money for flight school. Both mains are too cute together and their fake relationship quickly turns into real feelings. Isabel’s ex causes a bit of trouble for them but Verrik is a possessive cinnamon roll type and he’s not having any of it. If you like a low angst read with instalove and a found family this will give you all the feels. The world building was pretty lacking here so if you’re a stickler for that in your alien reads, this won’t measure up. The characterization of the alien is also sparse and not a lot of effort is spent on originality or description, Verrik was blue and large and that’s all we got. But for under 150 pages, this was a decent short read, even if it lacked imagination.

📖 ~180 pages
📖 Sci-fi alien romance
📖 Human botanist FMC x electrician alien MMC
📖 Fake dating
📖 Slight OM drama but FMC doesn’t have romantic feelings for him anymore, he’s just there to cause trouble
📖 Romance heavy, low-to-no world building
📖 Christmas vibes
📖 Virgin MMC
📖 HEA with no third act breakup

I’m so, so, so glad I picked up this little gem, even though the holidays are technically over. Was it perfect? No. Some typos here and there, pretty low world building for a sci-fi (although mostly takes place on Earth, but with no third act breakup and two really likeable main leads with great chemistry made this amazingly fun! I had to cut my dinner short to come finish this, which is always the mark of a good read.

Our FMC Isabel wants a fake boyfriend to come with her back to Earth for her family holidays so she doesn’t have to face her ex alone, after a particularly hard breakup. She doesn’t have feelings for him anymore, but after hearing he has a new girlfriend, she doesn’t want to look single and pining. When her original plans fall through, Isabel enlists the help of one of the resident aliens on the planet, our big, blue, and adorable MMC Verrik. Isabel is willing to pay, and Verrik certainly could use the money for flight academy, the step up that’s going to kickstart his future.

But as the fake relationship between Isabel and Verrik soon becomes very real between the sheets, and with emotions following, could a life and family with Isabel somehow be a part of that future?

Definitely add this one to your list, holidays or not!

'Te alejé cuando nunca había deseado nada más en toda mi vida.'

🎄✨Alien Boyfriend For Christmas de Luna Kingsley🎄✨

DNF at 54%.

The main characters are perfectly fine. But the lack of the least amount of world building is throwing me off.

I struggle with alien romances that don't acknowledge the diversity of our world. This book acts like the Earth is a monoculture. It acts like the United States and even the city that it's set in is a monoculture.

This alien has learned to speak English and somehow he gets every nuance perfectly including using curse words? And giving her a little counseling tips on how to communicate her emotions to her parents? This just isn't working for me.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was vivid, with the holiday season coming to vibrant life. The characterization was well done, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was organic and sweet. I would rate the heat level at three to four chili peppers. The plot and pacing were quick and tight, meaning that I read this novel in one sitting. There was a medium amount of well justified angst and low stakes, which I enjoyed in this case. This novel used the Virgin Hero trope, and the Family Drama trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy heartwarming Christmas romances with well drawn family dynamics. I would like to read another book set in this world, if the author should choose to write more. I will probably not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel, though I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I love stories where people have a chance to reflect on holiday traditions and remember the important things about the holiday. What better way to do that then to explain Christmas to a sexy alien?

Honestly I loved the story it was cute, sweet and a little out of this world. I don't mind my stories with a side of sci-fi and this tale definitely had that!

Isabel is a botanist who was on the first team selected to work on the planet Niri as they are trying to grow plants despite the poor quality soil. With Christmas approaching, she made plans to go back to Earth to see her family. Stanley was going to go with her as a fake boyfriend buffer against her nasty ex, Brad, but his leave got cancelled 5 days before they would have left. Isabel is panicked about what she can do on such short notice. As Isabel stands over one of the tables to begin her work, a Niri electrician crawls out from underneath where he had fixed a faulty outlet. She stared at him, mesmerized, and checking out his muscles and other parts until he walked away.

Verrik is an orphan which means he has no one to rely on but himself. His own people treat him poorly. He’s very intelligent and skilled, but his electrician work no longer challenges him. He applied to attend the flight school and when accepted he needs to earn extra money to pay for it. So when Isabel’s mom tells her Brad has found someone new, she feels desperate to not go home alone where she will see him at her parents’ Christmas party. So she offers to pay Verrik for coming with her to Earth and pretending to be her boyfriend over Christmas, then embarrassed at her forwardness, she hurries away from him. When Verrik is notified that he has been accepted to flight school but was not awarded a scholarship, he thinks about the credits Isabel offered for the fake relationship. That might be just what he needs to begin changing his future.

As the two of them spend time together, enjoying Earth’s Christmas traditions, they begin to fall in love. But when Isabel wants him to continue his plans for flight school, he worries that she is just like the females from his planet and won’t accept a lowly electrician. What she really wants is for him to follow his dreams while she will do all she can to share his life. But will they work it out? Will they talk about this so they both know their love is not weakened by this separation? Because this could be the thing that splits them apart.

This was such a fantastic story with so many endearing characters! I loved watching their relationship grow as Verrik became protective and realized he was in love. And Brad was scheming the whole time. Grab your copy and get drawn into a wonderful story line filled with the Christmas spirit! You won’t want to pass this one by!

This is an excellent book. It is a really sweet read that will have you laughing out loud in places. Isabel is a botanist working on the planet Niri. She had plans to go back to Earth for Christmas with her coworker. She is bringing him with her for moral support as her ex will be there with is new girlfriend. Unfortunately for her, both their families are entwined through years of friendship. So back up is definitely needed.

Ready to fly home and see her family and face her ex, Isabel gets the disappointing news. Her friend's leave is cancelled due to work requirements. Desperate to not go home alone, she offers a Niri electrician an all expense paid trip to Earth and a substantial payment if he will pretend to be her boyfriend.

Verrik is an orphan and in his society he is considered one of the lowest levels of society. He is saving money hoping to upgrade his status so that he may one day attract a mate and have a family of his own. To that end, he has applied to the Flight Academy for academic upgrading. He is selected but does not win the scholarship he was hoping for. Verrik has never done space travel and needs the money to pay for his training. So he accepts Isabel's offer.

This is a funny and sweet story of how they both slowly discover what each other is truly about. The unfailing support Verrik provides Isabel in the face of her family and ex. As well as the funny things that happen when an Alien is on Earth for Christmas and doesn't know or understand what the customs are. You will definitely have a smile on your face as you read.

This is a quick, fun, holiday read.

Isabel has gone to live and work on Niri. Her mother is ill and she was granted time to go see her. She was going to pay Stanley to pose as her pretend boyfriend as she didn’t want to face her ex boyfriend by herself. Stanley found out he could not go and so she asked Verrik who is a Niri electrician if he will go with her to Earth. Verrik works with his friend Calxax!
Verrik is trying to get into flight school and hopes he gets one of the scholarships that’s going. He goes to check the same time Isabel goes into the communication hub to video her mother. Verrik overhears her conversation and so she asks him if he will accompany her to Earth on the same deal. Verrik is left to think about it as Isabel leaves. Verrik wants to go to flight school as he his classed as a low citizen as he is an orphan and they are not thought highly of at all. Verrik and Isabel travel to Earth. There they hire a car to get to her parents house. When they are nearly home they end up in a ditch. So Verrik carries there bags and Isabel the short distance to her parents house. Since the spare bedroom has been turned into a gym Verrik has to sleep in her room. He offers to sleep on the floor.. The next day they go shopping for warmer clothes and on the night he sleeps in her bed. This starts the experience of Earth for Verrik having a family Isabel her parents Diane and Clark and enjoying family time I’m not going to spoil the rest of the story but I enjoyed reading it.

Sexy aliens and Christmas there is nothing better💘😍😘

I love Christmas there is something magical about this holiday. It's not only a time for family, but I think it inspires love, passion and Romance. This book was a little slice of alien romance meets Christmas heaven 💖 Isabel is a botanist who has travel to the Planet Niri to help them group plants and food in a place that is usually I hospitable to growing any kind of plant life. She very smart but she working through a broken heart he ex left her with when he dumped her at last year Christmas party, but she left for her new no . She going home to see her family but doesn't want to return alone. She was to show her asshat ex that she's moved on and does need him. Enter Verrik is a native of Nari and he was abandoned as a child. He's considered the lowest level of society. He works hard and is super smart. If it's electrical he can figure it out he's a quick learner and a really nice person. He volunteers to go earth with Isabel to play her boyfriend in from of her horror or ex. What these two beings don't see coming is the I tense attraction they develop and how they begin to genuinely like and care for one another. Add in the magic of the Christmas season, passion so hot it burns and true love and you've got yourself a great story. Loved every minute ute of this tale. Highly recommend especially for the Christmas season💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Fake Alien Boyfriend

This is a very enjoyable and entertaining read. The author did a great job with the main characters and the supporting characters. While 3 stars may seem like a low rating, it’s note at to be taken that way. This is an entertaining and easy read, but not one that knocks your socks off or leaves you breathless. This was exactly what I needed and was looking for, and I’d read more books by this author.

A somewhat shy botanist working on an alien planet is going home to visit with her family for Christmas a year after being dumped by her human boyfriend. She dreads seeing him again, especially since he and his family are longtime friends of her parents.

Izabella notices a very sexy Niri male who works on the electrical system in the botany lab, and she is tongue-tied around him. She ends up offering him credits to come home with her for Christmas on Earth. His excitement over leaving his home planet for an adventure, something he never thought he’d have the chance to experience, is so endearing.
He has also never experienced being part of a family. Izabella’s parents warm acceptance of him, and excitement to get to know him was sweet.

While sharing a bed Isabella and Verek explore physical pleasures and draw emotionally close during their month on Earth. The fun she has introducing him to holiday traditions are cute and his reactions are hilarious at times.

The ending was very heartwarming and satisfying.

Desirably sweet

Isabel has accepted a botanist position on the planet, Nira, since there is no sight of greenery anywhere and it will give her ample time to sort through her recent breakup. When her “date” for her visit home has to cancel, she’s dreading the inevitable with her ex, Brad, until a strikingly handsome scientist, Verrick accepts her offer to visit along with her for Christmas.

Verrick is considered bottom of his class on Nira as an orphan, but still has dreams of attending flight academy to increase his social standings and have an opportunity for a mate with a family. So when Isabel offers him the opportunity to join him for the holidays on Earth, it’s enough to pay the starting of his tuition after acceptance.

What neither of them were expecting was the spark followed by the flood of emotions and insanely, passionate intimacy that continues to grow at an alarming rate for one another. The obstacles presented to each of them are interesting, but how they choose to overcome them makes for quite an emotionally packed, eventful read with an even more amazing ending!

While this was a light read & fairly enjoyable, it was too predictable and felt like everything happened to easily. It's sort of a mindless read when you don't want something heavy that'll keep you up all night wondering what happens next. Everything just fell into place, nothing was over the top or difficult. There is a HEA for the couple that gives closure to the story. The aliens aren't all that different from the humans (to my disappointment). As best as I could tell, they were blue, & that was the only difference from humans. I wanted more alien-esque differences from humans for some reason (maybe extra arms, or a tail, or horns, or scales, or wings?). I'm not a fan of total gross weirdness (a squid type or insect type alien sort of thing comes to mind) that it's unbelievable to have that romance, but enough difference to be a little iffy... The other thing, there were some plot holes that didn't make sense & had pulled me out of the story -puzzling over those issues. I did like it enough to not think about quitting, but not enough that I would want to read more in this world.

I absolutely fell in love with this story. It was full of drama and action and tells of a human female and an alien mail how they fall in love and live their life together. Isabel who is a botanist who is helping the planet Niri to create an environment for plants to grow and Verrik is an orphan from Niri, which is the lowest station for the people on the planet. He is looked down on, but is the best at his job, but wanted to elevate himself to a higher station. Isabel needs a man to act as her pretend boyfriend when she goes home for Christmas because her ex boyfriend is still around. They start off their relationship as a paid position, but quickly turns into the real deal. They face conflict on earth but their feelings for each other helps him to overcome any obstacle. The return back to Niri and live happily ever after.

Isabel is going home for Christmas as her mother has been diagnosed with cancer. The only thing that she is not looking forward to is seeing her ex-boyfriend Brad. Seeing him is inevitable as their parents are best friends. She decides she will try to bring someone home with her for support. She offers 1000 credits to Verrik to be her fake alien boyfriend. Verrik is attracted to Isabel and needs the credits to pay for pilot school so he is happy to agree. What they had not planned for was the chemistry that develops as they spend more time together.
This story has a sweet romance, with some drama and ends with an HEA. I definitely enjoyed the story and plan to read more by this writer.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book was a sweet and a little steamy alien romance between Isabel and Verrik. She is on the planet as a botanist to help the problems. She is also trying to get away from a bad relationship. She is going back to earth during the holidays. She even had a fake date until that fell thru. Verrik to the rescue. What started out as a way for him to earn more turned into a connection neither expected. Maybe he will not have to be a fake date after all. This book had his chemistry between the characters and was well written. I enjoyed reading their story

Isabel is going home for the holiday's and she needs a boyfriend she doesn't want to deal with her ex alone. Then she notices Verrik hes from the planet she works on she asks if he wants to go to earth with her. Verrik is of low social standing on Niri he wants to better himself and the flight Academy would allow him to do that but its expensive so when Isabel needs help he says yes. Now there having fun for the holidays dealing with her ex his family and hers in the middle of it all they manage to fall in love but after the holiday's they return to Niri will there new romance survive long distance while hes at the Academy. Sweet romance with plenty of steam.

Isabel is thrilled to be taking Verrick home with her to Earth for Christmas and their relationship takes off when they arrive only to find they will be sharing her bed. Isabel is not only showing Verrick all the sights around town but also how to pleasure a woman as they explore each other bodies. When her ex, Brad, keeps showing up, Verrick irritation is mounting and when Brad tries to manhandle Isabel, Brad will feel Verrick’s wrath as he rescues her. Isabel pushes Verrick to follow his dream even if that means more time apart & Isabel jumps at the chance to give Verrick the surprise of his life as they build their future together.

On Niri, Isabel is a botanist and Verrik is an electrician who grew up an orphan which is the lowest class station. She is going home to Earth for Christmas and asks Verrik to go as her fake boyfriend, as her nasty ex will be at the festivities also. He is trying to get into flight school so he agrees to the money she offers for the help. They head to Earth and things happen quickly. The romance between them sizzles and it is not fake anymore. Her dad relates stories of Earth traditions and they integrate them into their relationship easily. The ending of the graduation was fantastic, with all the people who love him. Just a terrific storyline with so much feeling.

Isabel and Verrik what a combo these two are! Her a proverbial flower girl and him a sparky that will light you from the inside! I so enjoyed this book and it really made my holiday a lot brighter! I love the chemistry between these two and the emotion coming off the pages made me want to keep flipping! It is a holiday story but yet it has all the elements that are needed to make it a creative romantic romp that you will want to visit throughout the year! Luna you did a wonderful job with this book! This was a very enjoyable read about Isabel and Verrik. Verrik born a orphan on Niri is a electrician who wants to improve his life so he can have a mate so he signed up to the flight academy and got approved but he needs credits to pay tuition. Isabel, a botanist, is going home to visit her parents for Christmas and has set up to pay a friend, Stanley, to pretend to be her boyfriend but he can't get time off so she asks Verrik and he agrees. When they show up at her parents home for Christmas, Isabel finds her parents setting her up with her ex boyfriend Brad. What occurs during the two weeks home was a endearing romantic story that I volunteer to read and review via booksprout.

Isabel has plans to go home to Earth for Christmas to visit her sick Mom. She had asked a friend to pose as her "boyfriend" because of her jerk of an ex, but he couldn't get leave. So she asks Verrik if he was to go with her and she's totally surprised when he says yes. Verrik is an electrician on his planet and he's been really saving so that he can have a family. This relationship between these two might have started out fake but soon became very real. I loved how Verrik got a taste of Earth's Christmas Celebration of love for family and acceptance. Has a fun HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What a tender and sweet Christmas romance. Isabel asks Verrek to come home with her so she doesn't have town to face her ex. But what she finds, the more time she spends with him is how thoughtful and wonderful he really is and what a really crappy life he's had growing up and she's determined to show what Christmas is all about. Verrek knows that people like him don't get to have what he's had with Isabel, but for this one moment he's going to embrace it . A really great read, awesome characters. I recommend it.

Isabel, a botanist has a problem, her horrible, scheming ex Brad will be there and she needs a buffer. When she meets Niri electrician Verrik, she offers to pay him to be her boyfriend for the holidays. Verrik wants to better himself and apply to flight school, when he is accepted but without a scholarship, he decides to take Isabel up on her offer. What starts out as a fake arrangement, quickly turns real when emotions, chemistry and lust comes into play. Great holiday alien read with very likable characters and a good storyline.
