Khanavai Warrior Bride Games #4

Enemy of the Alien Bride Lottery

Rate this book
I’ll do whatever it takes to destroy the Bride Games.

A year ago, I did the unthinkable.

I helped a woman running from the Alien Bride Lottery.

I spent three months in a federal prison for it, too.

As soon as I got out, a secret organization recruited me. Our goal is to end the Bride Lottery program forever.

So when my name is drawn in the Lottery this year, I know it’s a setup. But my friends in the organization insist it’s for the best, because now I can feed them information from inside the Bride Games.

But when I arrive on Station 21, I realize there’s even more to this setup than I knew. Because the first person I meet is that green alien bastard who turned me in. Worse, he’s one of the grooms in the Bride Games.

If he thinks he can make up for all the damage he’s done, he’s in for a surprise.

Because I’m going to do whatever it takes to bring down this entire system.

Fans of Ruby Dixon, Grace Goodwin, and Evangeline Anderson will adore this hot new series featuring gorgeous, bright alien heroes and the sassy human women they choose as mates!

Every book in the Khanavai Warrior Bride Games series is a standalone romance. Join these brides as they find a whole new world of happily ever afters.

Wex is an idiot.

Not only did he report Dee’s illicit marriage, he also testified against her.

Dee had such a good reason to hate him. This would’ve been a fun element for the novel to focus on, but the couple barely spent any time together to overcome it. Wex did not grovel. The lust toward each other overshadowed their betrayals. A flimsy “apology” later, and it all worked out.

The novel was too short to conclude what it set up. With the romance being rushed, other elements could’ve been stronger. The focus was on the injustice of the Bride Games, but there just wasn’t enough time to properly explore and conclude it.

I really like this series, and I’m excited to read more of it. This one may not have been my favorite, but it was a quick read that helped pass the time.

This is a entertaining, Sci-fi alien romance with a very interesting plot that has some good world building & scene descriptions although the main focus was on the two main characters (Deandra) & (Wex) and the development of their relationship between them naturally there are some hidden agendas just to make their lives a little more interesting. (Sadly, there was very little action & no physical conflict or violence)
It is about: a human female (Deandra Castro) with a cynical outlook on the bride lottery, was sent to jail for 3mths when an green skinned male Khanavai alien (Wex Bronstinad) discovered she had committed some crimes against the state & bride lottery, now her number has been called & she comes face to face with the alien who sent her to jail.
There is: a Bride Alliance Treaty, despicable aliens (Alveron Hordes), a conniving games director (Vos Klavoii), a resistance group, fated mates, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, adventure, anger, defiance, distrust, confrontations, manipulations, regrets, some espionage, determination, compromises, steamy scenes, contentment, love & a happy conclusion for this couple, there is a very interesting epilogue giving the reader a tantalizing glimpse of the next book in the series & I would recommend this book to people who like to read this genre.

I love this series
I have read everyone and look forward to the next. This one was not a disappointment.
It ranks with the best from as far as I’m concerned. This is a very entertaining book.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If you like alien romances under strange circumstances.
You will love this book. I am happy to recommend a whole series

Meh

This was my least favorite story. I mean really there were no real pinnacle moment in the story. It really was a major let down in the series. You have a very interesting main character that basically is glossed over in her own story. Like wtf? It was terribly terribly rushed in comparison to the other stories.

A massive disappointment

I like this series and this book had the potential to be my favourite one, so I was very disappointed when the hate-to-love romance trope was not really there as there was no real romance to be found because half of the book Dee and Wex were not in contact with each other whatsoever.
Also I disliked Dee, so Wex deserved someone better than her.
Then I felt like the book was just cut off at the end without giving me a satisfactory ending and conclusion to the story.
There were still several unanswered questions. What kind of consequences are there going to be after what Dee did on the station? Why was there a problem with Wex game and what caused it? What exactly happened with their game at the end? What the future holds for them?

So I'm clearly in the minority here. I didn't feel this. In fact, I looked down at one point and realized I was at 78% and had no idea what the plot was, just a few little pieces and a couple who had barely interacted.
The couple connects strictly on the fated mates attraction. There's no other connection for them. At 80% they tell each other a bunch of things and decide they are going to be together and that's that. I felt like I missed a whole plot of their connection.

Book definitely needs to be read in the context of others in the series. Minimal steam, slow burn.

Deandra Casto worked night shift at a sleazy motel. One night Amelia Rivers. the runaway from the
Bride Lottery, begged for a room at the hotel. No credit cards, just cash. Deandra recognized her and immediately gave her a quiet room away from traffic. Bounty hunters and Khanavai warriors
were out looking for Amelia and her mate. He was injured. Amelia and her mate were successfully recovered. Wex Banstinad was part of that team and the team that had Deandra arrested. He knew at first sight that she was his mate, but it was a long way from felon to mate.

At the trial. Wex stated that Deandra found Dr. Rivers first aid supplies and food. Wex also found that she was not really married. The prosecutor just added that information onto her crimes and she was sentenced to 3 months in a Federal prison in solitary confinement. If she disliked the Bride Lottery before, she really hated everything about it now.

When she was released from prison, she was met by Roya Haji and taken to a half-way house. She met a lot of women there and found out that they were a subversive group dedicated to ending the Bridal Lottery Program. Wex Banstinad a Khanavalian warrior currently assigned as the communications coordinator on Station 21 met our heroine,
Deandra Casto when he was part of a team trying to retrieve another bride, Amelia Rivers. One glance and he KNEW that she was meant to be his. He intended to make it a reality. He spoke with her at the motel where she hid Amelia and testified that she bought first aid supplies and food for Amelia and her mete. But the prosecution turned his statement into aiding and abetting a fugitive. In addition Wex found out that her marriage was a sham, thus enabling her to be eligible to
Christmas morning, with the delicious fragrance of baking pies in the air, suddenly all the video devices turned on and there was Vos, the head of the Bride Lottery. He announced a new Christmas Special Bride Lottery for prospective grooms to get a second chance at winning a Bride. Deandra heard her name called by Vos and her ID flashed on the screen. Suddenly she was transported
to Station 21.

Much to her dismay, Wex was there to greet her. How dare he! He was practically the one who sent her to prison. All Wex could think was MINE, MY MATE!

Through trial and many errors they eventually make their way into each other's arms and an HEA.

This was a quick read and I loved it but then again the whole series so far is amazing and it makes you believe anything is possible because fate and love always finds a way. Deandra Casto is in trouble with the federal government after helping Amelia Rivers hide from the bride lottery but also help save Zont Amelia’s alien mate from dying after the Horde came to earth and tried to kill them both, now they are being rescued and the most gorgeous male she has ever seen comes to talk to her and takes her breath away and then it all went to hell and she is being charged for crimes against the bride lottery and the Khanvai aliens. Wex Branstinad is a Khanvai warrior and a technical analysts and is tasked with finding Zont the commander and his bride Amelia and they do at a run down hotel and they are saved but when Wex see a woman across the lot he cannot resist or take his eyes of her and straight away he knows she is his mate and approaches her and is taken back by her beauty but cannot speak for long and has to leave and get back to station 21 but gets her name before he does. Now at his station he needs to know everything about his mate Deandra Casto when an alert comes across his Vid screen that the female Deandra Casto is being changed with crimes against the bride lottery and the Khanvai alien race, shocked he delves deeper into her background and finds she is married and is sickened and wants more information and he soon learns it’s a fake marriage and reports this in the alert knowing full well it will dissolved the marriage and he can have his mate. Now he needs a plan to get his mate in the bride lottery program because he has been entered in as a groom. How will it all turn out after Wex testifies against her at her trial will she forgive him or will he lose her forever. Get this book to find what happens next.

(Disclaimer: This review is a copy-and-paste overall for all books in this series. Rather than touch on each book separately and reveal spoilers, I will keep my review basic.)

Who knew that I had an alien kink? I sure didn’t. I started reading alien romance novels after being bored af with vampire romances. Now, here we are, and I can’t get enough.

I am obsessed with this author, and I am obsessed with their (her?) books in this series!

Similar alien romance stories tend to have a little too much action for my liking. I think these books have struck the perfect balance, providing more sex and romance than the action.

Earth has agreed to provide brides for the aliens via a lottery system (similar to a war draft) in exchange for protection against a massive solar threat. Each year, a select number of women are sent into space to possibly be chosen as an alien bride. The entire ordeal is televised, similar to “The Bachelorette” Earth tv program. But without the rose ceremony.

I fell in love with the tense buildup leading to the mate bond. The idea that these aliens are able to sense “the one“ based off their scent alone, really flips my switch for some reason. Instead of love at first sight, it’s love at first smell. I enjoy the variety in that the Khanavai warriors come in all colors of the rainbow. I love that the author has also incorporated different races and sizes of the human mates; Not everyone is a 22 year old, size 2, white girl with big boobs. Love it!

Downsides? Books are too short. Could use a little more character development. Often feels a little rushed. After looking at the upcoming releases and their dates, that’s exactly what’s happening; these books are being rushed. The author needs more time to perfect her craft (IMHO).

Being caught up in the series, I am anxiously waiting for the next books to come out. Yes please! A must read.

Imprisoned for her crime, but can she forgive him for his?

Deandra Castro, Dee, helped Amelia Rivers, the runaway bride, hide from the Alien Bride Lottery when her number was picked. When Dee got caught, she spent 3 months in the federal penitentiary for her crimes against the state. Her case was made worse when Wex Bronstinad turned her in for having a fake marriage in order to get out of the lottery herself. He also testified against her in her trial. She hates him and he is the last person in the universe she would ever trust. When she is released from prison she goes to a halfway house. Turns out it is run by an organization called The Resistance. Their goal is to stop the Alien Bride Lottery from taking unwilling women and forcing them to have an Alien mate. When her number is picked in the lottery she is determined to do anything she can to bring it down.

Wex met Dee when he “retrieved” Amelia Rivers for the Bride Lottery. He knows she is his mate, but needs to return to the station. He investigates her and discovers she is in a fake marriage. He is overcome with jealousy so he gives that information to the prosecutors. He wants to save her for himself and testifies thinking her being in prison will keep her safe from other men. Every time he does something that he thinks will help her, it has the opposite effect. He knows she hates him and can’t figure out how to get close to her. When he gets the chance to have her number picked for the next Lottery, he thinks he has it all figured out. Can he convince her that he is her mate or will she hate him forever? Will she be able to change The Lottery with help from The Resistance?

I absolutely love this series! This is book four and a great addition to the story! Fantastic book.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was minimal, with the environment and culture of future Earth not being well described and the culture of the Khanavai also not being depicted at all. The characterization was competent, with the hero and heroine both being sympathetic individuals, if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet, with a heat level of two chili peppers. The plot was the strength of this book, with the human rebellion against the Bride Games raising the stakes and making the pacing fly by. This novel had low angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Fated Mates trope, the Mars Needs Women trope, and the Resistance trope. The world building was two stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was three stars. I really did enjoy this novel because of the great plotting and pacing, but I gave it a combined rating of three stars because the world building, characterization, and relationship development all needed significant improvement. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy tight plotting and don’t mind poor world building in their sci-fi romances. I will read the next book in this series when it releases, because of the tight plotting. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Deandra never wanted to be subject to the Alien Bride Lottery so right before she would have been forced into the drawing she arranged a fake marriage. She had a job as a front desk person in a motel and was content with her life. Then the woman who was running from the Bride Lottery asks her help. She is hiding from bounty hunters and she is with a badly hurt alien. Feeling sorry for the other woman, she helps out but she got caught and sent to jail. News of her fake wedding came out and she is in deeper hot water. Luckily someone arranged for her to get a lawyer and she is punished by having extra entries into the lottery. She is also living in a halfway house for other people who went up against the Bride lottery. The other house members are trying to find a way to put an end to the lottery. Then the announcement is made that there will be a special Bridal lottery and her name is called. On board of the bridal ship, her house mates ask her to download information for them.

Wex was on Earth as part of the hunting team to track down the escaped bride lottery candidate. When his boss calls him to pick up him and the escapee, Wex meets Deandra and realizes that she is his mate. When he investigates her, he figures out that her marriage was a fake and leaks the information. The only problem is that he doesn't realize how Deandra will be treated. The more he tries to help her, the more trouble she gets in. His biggest goal is to get Deandra on board for the Bridal games without letting Vos figure out what is going on. Even if he is sucessful, will Deandra want to be with the one who cost her her home, job and freedom?

Deandra Casto worked at night at a hotel reception when she saw a couple come in the door, but it was not just any couple.
Despite the woman's different hair color, Deandra was sure she was the alien bride lottery outlaw, Amelia Rivers. And with her, a huge wounded alien.

Deandra was against this new law that all single women over the age of 21 had their names immediately placed on the list to participate in the lottery, and to be given as brides to the Khanavai warrior aliens, who defended the Earth from other alien invaders. So a few years ago, she was married just to escape the Lottery.

After the famous couple was rescued by alien friends - among them had a huge one, with green skin, who was immediately attracted to Deandra (Dee) and asked her for the main information (in order to find her later) -, Dee ended up being held responsible for helping a fugitive, and went to jail.

Upon leaving there a few months later (she was alone in her life and had lost her home to pay the costs of justice), she was taken to a halfway house, and introduced to a group of women who were totally opposed to the Bride Lottery.

During the trial, it was discovered that Dee's marriage was forged, and thus, it was annulled. Thus, her name was included in the next Game.
Now, Dee would not only be in the game, but she would also have access to the green alien that fascinated her months ago. But she was involved in a dangerous game, and that could make her miss the chance to find true love...

How could Wex Banstinad help Dee, his mate, not be involved in a new scheme against Bride Lottery, as well as convince her that they could work together?

What a fun read this book was. It starts off Deandra meeting Amelia whilst on the run with Zont, her injured mate, and decides to help them. Initially she does it because she is not exactly a fan of the bride lottery, not that I blame her, but then she realises that whilst Amelia is opposed to the lottery she does love Zont and whilst not able to understand it does support Amelia anyway. When Zont's people come and collect him and Amelia Wex Banstinad is with on the shuttle and as soon as he sees Deandra he knows that she is his. But things are not set to go smoothly as Deandra is soon charged and jailed for assisting a runaway bride and Wex, in testifying to what she told him, ends up making things worse rather than helping her and she gets sent to prison. When she gets out she is even more opposed to the lottery and then she gets put in a halfway house with likeminded women. The women are maybe a touch too radical for Deandra but she can empathise with their feelings on the matter. When she is chosen to take part in the lottery she smells something fishy but does not know quite what. Can Wex convince Dee that he is not the bad guy she thinks he is and that he will not turn her into some kind of slave? The characters are great and I enjoyed their story and it is getting even more interesting now as the anti-lottery sentiments are boiling up on earth and it turns out that not all the alien men are a fan of the way it is done either and that combined with whatever Dee uploaded onto the lottery computer system bodes for a very exciting next book.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!

Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Bride lottery games is sort of like the TV show that use play however, in this case Earth is paying for the help of the Khaavai against the Alveron Horde who left the women on their planet sterile, so the Earth agreed to 100 women being submitted int the Bride Lottery rather they wanted to or not. Deandra hates the Bride Lottery spent time in prison for helping to hide a girl who was selected for the lottery upon he releases her name comes up and one the very man who told on her is one of her choices. Wex knows from the moment he meets Dee she is his mate but for some reason every time he is around, he mess up everything seems he can’t do anything right. Dee on the other hand hates him for landing her in prison and refuses to acknowledge him in the gams and is determined to not pick up but will that land her with someone who she doesn’t really want and can Wex finally convince her that they belong together, will they get happiness?

Another reluctant bride -

While I thoroughly enjoyed this “episode” of the Alien Bride Lottery series, the “I don’t want to be a bride” schtick is getting kind of old for me. It’s pretty much gotten to be “no, no, no” until the very end and then presto, the women are happy campers. If something transformative, along the lines of what Wex and Deandra discuss in the book, could happen, possibly pushing this into a second series based in the same world, there might be a bit of growth, story wise.

Those comments notwithstanding, the characters are great. Wex knew what he wanted fr9m the moment he saw Deandra, and she pretty much did too. The pheromones between these two must have been strong. It would have been nice to see more interaction between these two characters. There was a whole lot of Deandra, some Wex, just not a whole lot of Deandra and Wex. That seemed more of a wham bam, thank you ma’am situation.

All in all, this story falls in line with the previous books in the series, however, after things like the attack on the station and the attempted kidnapping of a bride on Earth in previous books, I can’t help but feel like somethings missing here.

Deandra, or Dee as she prefers to be called, first meets Wex in the parking lot of the motel where she was letting Amelia hide with Zont. Both are dumb-struck. Dee spills her guts about her aiding and abetting to Wex and the next thing she knows she is in doing three months in a federal penitentiary. Her conviction was assured when the authorities found out about her fake marriage which had kept her out of the bride lottery for years. Now she would be entered in it every time until she was too old. The best-laid plans... Fortunately, she ends up in a halfway house with a bunch of like-minded females who want to bring down the bride lottery. They just need a plan.

Wex is not sure how he will pull it off but he is determined to win Dee as his mate. His early attempts only make her situation worse but he has to get her marriage annulled before he has any chance of getting her in the Bride program. With much finagling, he finally gets her into the game, but she may get the last laugh.

Deandra Casto knew a year ago that she could get into trouble for helping the woman running from the Bride Lottery, what she didn't expect however, was that it would mean she herself would end up on Station 21 as a potential bride. To top it all off the first person she sees when she leaves the transporter is none other than Wex Banstinad, the Khanavai warrior responsible for making her sentence longer. Wex has been looking forward to seeing the young woman he first met when his team captured the runaway bride, he just hopes she can forgive him for saying anything that may have made her punishment worse. But after everything she's been through Deandra is determined to bring down the Bride Lottery, and a secret organization has given her a way to do it.
Well written, and compelling characters that find out they agree that the Bride Lottery needs to change, and fall in love. Fascinating addition to this wonderful, and entertaining series with some surprising twists in the plot. I couldn't put it down.

Entertaining and fun with a little bit of steam! I really enjoy this series! Dee is against the Alien Bridal Games; it ends up getting her put in prison, but not before meeting bright green alien, Wex. Wex is hot for Dee and she for him, but Wex doesn’t quite think things through; he ends up creating more problems for Dee, which makes it tough to win her as his mate. Dee ends up more involved in the games than she ever wanted, but despite her trying to resist, there’s something drawing her to Wex. There was some missed opportunities to make the story a bit more exciting; problems with the whole gaining information situation, or Dee calling out Wex more for his role in her imprisonment; that would’ve added some nice tension and heat to their passion. Overall, I still really enjoyed this read, so I’ll stick with a 5 rating. Cute connection between Wex and Dee! Excited for the next book!! Looks like it’ll be about Vos, the bridal games show runner!! I’m looking forward to reading about him changing his tune.

When Dee helped Amelia rivers hide herself and her mate from all authorities, she was glad she was able to help. When they were collected from the hotel Dee works at, one of the aliens asked Dee if she knew Amelia, when Dee tells him she helped get medical supplies to heal zont she doesn’t think anything of it. Until a few hours later when she’s arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive from the bride games. See spends 3 months in prison and when she gets out she is offered a job bringing down the alien lottery altogether. Wex knows Dee is his mate so he tries whatever he can to make her his bride. When Dee is picked in the lottery for the next games she knows it must be an inside job, when she gets there however she sees the alien who turned her in for helping Amelia, worse he’s a groom and all he is interested in is her. Amelia wants nothing to do with him, at first, she plans on bring the lottery and games down and she doesn’t mind playing dirty to do it.

I loved reading this story, I was hooked from the start to the very end , If you want to read a science fiction romance with a hint of intrigue and mystery along with some drama, then this is the one for you. Wex Banstinad is a Lieutenant for the Khanavai warriors, When he meets up with his future mate Deandra Casto, he is searching for a runaway bride, he doesn’t realise what he does when he sets in motion, events that would impact on her sentencing when she is sent to prison for aiding and abetting the runaway bride. He is determined that he will meet up with her in the bridal games. Be prepared for lots of action and plenty of drama and of course the happily ever after the end.

I really love this Series of instant love and Alien romance books. In this universe earth was helped to repelled an attack from other planet by this warriors from planet Khanavai, they were also in trouble because after they were in war with The Alveron Horde, no matter they won the war against them, before the enemy leave Khanavai they did a Biological attack that leave the females of their planet sterile. So the price that they put for their help is that Earth will provide for 100 mates a year and to select and pair the couples they created the Brides games. This games is like a combination of the bachelorette and a price game show. This is the fourth book of the series if we don't count the short story that was part of a collection of Alien romantic stories taking place during the holidays. This is another season and Vox is promising that this would be a juicy one. So in short this is a fast pace story with Great Heroines and Heroes that sometimes start not too likeable but they eventually stole your heart.

The Alien Bride Lottery series is perfect for a quick dash of alien hotness on your morning or afternoon break. There's just enough plot that you can easily get caught up in it, but not so much that you can't put it down if you need to. The alien guys are respectful, and understand that they need to woo their human mates once they find them, they can't just snatch and run.

In this book, Dee, the heroine, doesn't like the lottery in principle, helps a bride trying to escape, and ends up being sent to jail for 3 months as a result. Unfortunately for her, Wex, one of the Khanavai warriors searching for the runaway bride, caught her scent, knows she's his mate, and arranges for her to be chosen for the lottery once she's out of jail. From there, it's a fun ride as Wex tries to get Dee to forgive him and agree to be his mate.

The female lead of the story, Dee, is philosophically against the premise of the Alien Bride Lottery but, unlike most people, she’s actually willing to do something about it. The male lead, Wex, having met her previously and knowing she’s his mate, is desperate to get her into the bride games and to claim her for himself. He has, however, taken several actions that have angered Dee and he has to convince her to take a chance on him

I particularly appreciated that Dee was willing to acknowledge her attraction to and care for Wex whilst still wanting to change the method by which they had been brought together.

The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and full of cute and funny moments plus some steam. I’m really enjoying the development of this world and series over time.

Deandra (Dee) had helped a bride contestant in her attempt to escape the lottery which is a criminal offense. She meets Wex when the Khavani pick up the bride and her injured mate. Wex knows immediately she is his mate but he manages to get her sent to prison. That was but one obstacle of the two of them getting together. A lot is happening under the guise of the Bridal Lottery and Games and Wex needs to figure out how to maneuver around things to get his mate. Dee has secrets too and eventually they will both have to come clean if they are going to have a relationship. I liked both their characters. Dee was strong yet vulnerable and Wex managed to fumble things even if he was genuinely trying to make things work with Dee. I would have loved to have the book be a bit longer - not because the story wasn't complete but because I didn't want to say good-bye to the character.

Helping others escape the bride Lottery seemed the correct thing to do but when the green alien warrior set his eyes on her, Dee got in serious trouble. It was not fair what the Bride Lottery was doing to the women and even afraid and struggling with a strong attraction to the alien, she would do something about that. His mate! Wex decided to get the human girl for himself at any cost. Game on! But lies and deceptions were not helping, that he realized. The odds were against the match. What to do? Liked that Wex had to work hard and be truth to himself to get Dee’s approval. Action, suspense, deceit, colorful aliens, amusing scenes, romance and passion. The Epilogue left me very intrigued. Eager for the next story that promise to be a challenge. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received free from Booksprout and I enjoyed

It is written in a way that makes you think you are right there watching it happen instead of reading a book.
I am not usually into sci-fi but have enjoyed every one in this series so far.
The different species involved each in their own way is curious, really makes me curious as to the extension of this authors imagination.
The idea of aliens and lotteries to extend their species is interesting.
The true mates part of it seems to be there even if they are aliens/humans.
I'm still waiting to find out what the other aliens that they have been fighting are about though.
You see bits and pieces through each story but their inter species war has been going on well before humans became involved.
Still finding these interesting enough to hold my attention and not want to put it down until finished.

One of my favorite things about the alien bride lottery, besides seeing the happily ever after is getting to see events from a new perspective. We get to go back and meet Deandra as she helps hide Amelia and Zont. We also get to hear Wex's side of the story for why he was so horrible to Lola as a groom in her bride game.

I adored getting to see familiar characters again on this visit to station 21. I loved the 'oh crap' moment and how it forced Deandra and Wex to confront what they really wanted.

This is a great series that you can join in at anytime. Like chips, one you start, you will want them all.

Blub for next story at the end has me very excited.

Deandra Castro, (Dee) hates the Alien Bride Lottery because she was jailed for three months in the federal penitentiary when she helped Amelia Rivers a runaway bride hide at the motel she worked at. After serving her sentence Dee got contacted by a resistance group and when her name is drawn by the Alien Bride Lottery she's goes to find ways to shut it down. Meanwhile Lieutenant Wex Banstinad who captured Amelia and testified at the trial that sentence Dee is participating in the Alien Bride Lottery. Wex catches Dee stealing information but Wex also has a agenda. Wex knows that Dee is his mate, can he use this to persuade and win his mate? This is another enjoyable romantic story with engaging characters within this series that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.

I started to read this and just had to keep going. The characters are just wonderful and I love how there are little filaments of the other stories linked in. You don't need to have read them to know what is going on but they are so good you shouldn't deprive yourselves of them. I love Wex! I especially love his swearing which has me snorting with laughter. He is sneaky, funny and has a heart of gold. What is not to love?! Deandra, well Dee has not had things go her way in a very long time. By helping another woman she finds herself caught in the trap that is the Lottery but despite all the encounters with Wex, which seem to have only brougth her harm, does she really want to escape? Or would she like to make like Jack and climb the big green beanstalk??
