Soothing Nightmares

Rate this book
I didn’t fear my nightmares. I loved them... and they loved me.
I had never been afraid of the dark. Abandoned on the front step of ISS, I’d spent my entire life thriving in the realm of darkness that most humans avoided.
I was a woman living among monsters.

Arabella was abandoned at the front steps of INSTITUTUM SEQUUNTUR SOMNIA (ISS) one stormy night, only to be found and brought in by the monsters that lived there. An institute of nightmares that housed the most dangerous creatures that walked the plane of humanity. A place that trained and harnessed those abilities for their own use, while defending against the humans that were constantly attacking them.
But what happens when a young human woman grows up among the nightmares? Feeling no fear but instead taking comfort in her team that she surrounded herself by? By all regards, Arabella shouldn’t have fit in at the institute. Nothing like the warrior-like creatures around her, the 5’1’’ young woman with pink hair and a vision impairment was absolutely fundamental to her team. Not just for her strategic brilliance but her soothing lack of fear that seemed to tame the nightmares around her. Arabella is bound and determined to keep her monstrous men safe while they are on their missions.
What happens when their most recent mission attracts the wrong type of attention? What happens when ISS comes under attack and everything that she values is destroyed?

Join Arabella and her possessive nightmares as one human woman finds the monster within herself to protect those that she loves. The ISS series is promised to feature terrifying monsters that include everything from the literal monster under the bed to Lucifer’s overbearing son, the prince of Hell. If you love large harems, brilliant, sassy, but slightly naive female main characters with no fear, and a thrilling adventure filled with steam, vengeance, and a happily ever after, then you are absolutely going to love this.

Warning: This medium/fast burn RH contains several dark themes from swearing, violence, and sexual themes suitable for +18.

If you’re into delayed gratification and a lot of push from the heroes of a RH, this one’s for you.

It’s a bit long winded and very introspective. Not enough dialogue or even interactions to speak of. Everyone is mostly dealing with their emotions.

Alas, I hate when heroes make decisions for the heroine along the lines of “she can’t handle it” and “she’s not ready” and “it’s for her own good”. I despise this patronizing behavior and while it was not as insulting here because they genuinely care for her and never wish to hurt her, I still disliked it. I skimmed the last 10% because I had lost interest by then.

🌟Brief Summary:

☠️ In a world where Nightmares and humans co-exist there is unrest between the two. It’s not also safe for Nightmares in the human world, enter ISS a safe haven for Nightmares but also a place to train their magic and help fight against threats to Nightmares.

Arabella was left on the doorstep of ISS as a child. With no memory of who she is or where she came from the head of ISS and human man takes her is and raises her.

Now she is part of an elite team of Nightmares whose mission is to take out the bad guys and save Nightmares from the evil humans who are trying to destroy them.

Being a human herself she has a special ability to not fear the Nightmares. She is the Nightmare soother.

❣️Things I Liked/Loved❣️
‼️I love the OTT EXTREME JP OBSESSED HAREM‼️ swoon in all the right places- MS always knows how to write a hero.

‼️The Nightmare theme was a great interesting twist on a monster world. The world 🌎 building is good esp if you read the previous book and intro into the world of Nightmares (Mating Monsters).

‼️‼️‼️I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she is THE ONLY WOMAN THEY SEE….. EVER! Like no talk about previous OW (mostly) cause most have only been with the h. But I ESPECIALLY LOVE THAT REGARDLESS OF THEIR PAST ONCE THEY SEE THE THEIR WOMAN THERE IS NO OTHER! Most don’t have an extensive past and if they do it’s super minor. I DO ABSOLUTELY SWOON OVER THE FACT THAT MOST OF THE HEROS ARE V❣️❣️❣️

‼️The FMC stood up for what she wanted and wasn’t a doormat.

‼️This was a great start to a fun and adventurous PNR series. This has Red Masque Vibes….. and since I loved that series I was here 🙋🏼‍♀️ for it.

❣️❣️❣️All of Saints little gifts 🩸✋🏻for her and all his “gardening” 😏 were soooo darkly romantic

♥️Touch her☠️Talk to her☠️Look at her and DIE☠️Literally

Things I Did 💔Not Like
❌ I was confused about the mating, fucking and sleeping around rules of this world. Is mating just fucking? It was highly contradictory.
-People could only mate/fuck with their own power class or they would die?
-And mating is taken seriously for breeding?
-But then they say Nightmares only fuck and mate. So what’s the difference between the 2 cause Amun definitely tried to fuck 3 diff humans.
-“NIGHTMARES DO NOT FUCK LIKE HUMANS THEY ARE EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL COMBINED⁉️” ….What does that mean 🤷🏼‍♀️ like somehow it’s more special when they have sex??? Cause if that’s the case Amun wouldn’t have just fucked 3 human woman in his past cause that would be just physical….right. He wasn’t trying to mate them. He wanted a fuck buddy🤦🏼‍♀️. So that sounds human to me. Why make it so complicated just give me bullet points and leave it at that 😂.
❌❌ Ugh I hate reading new world rules for mates esp ones without CLEAR GUIDELINES.

❌For the first 60% of this Arabella annoyed me. She was a panting simp. She couldn’t think straight around these men all her monologue was how hot they were and what she wanted to do w them sexually and how turned on she was. I legit felt like I was reading THE DIARY OF A HORMONAL HORNY TEENAGER!
-And for this reason 🙄 I couldn’t connect with her. She came off way younger than her 24yr old and she didn’t have any qualities other than wanting to be a fuck toy for these men. So her character development was slow.

❌I LOVE RELATIONSHIP BASED READS! But the storyline in this was so slow to start that I got frustrated. This is a 4 book series so I wanted a bit more foundation to the core storyline to keep me going.

❌❌TO MANY HAREM MEMBERS WITH TO MANY HAIR COLORS AND POWERS TO REMEMBER!!!!! Just way too many! I personally don’t like large harems cause many men tend to get left in the dust. But add all those men with distinct looks, powers and characteristics and it’s a mess.

❌Oh and what’s with these men all being 6.5 to 7 ft tall and her being 5.1? I mean why would that even work with their dicks being half her size … lol I mean it’s kinda disturbing. They would tear her poor little vagina apart! 😳 I predict lots of UTI’s in her future.

❌To much of long winded inner monologue

Omg all the internal dialogues. It feels like I’m being info dumped on but it’s just the characters going “omg so hot! I’m obsessed” but in 5 different ways between lines of dialogue. I just finished the chapter where the pov was Damian the son of Lucifer and he was so boring!! I was not expecting that.
An interesting concept, but I’d rather not skim through a book to enjoy it.

I tried so, so hard to like this book. The premise was very promising, something I've never seen before. I've read some of the author's other books they weren't the best, but they weren't the worst either, so I don't understand what happened here. It was hard to distinguish each character from the other, but that's a common reverse harem trope so I let it slide. But there's one thing that for the life of me I just couldn't get past.
SO. MUCH. MONOLOGUE. The whole book takes place in the span of a day or two. All the action and dialogue can fit into two pages, everything else was monologue. I would (somewhat) understand if it was an introductory book to a big series with a detailed world to build, but it wasn't. It was the same things repeating over and over again. It was either Arabella obsessing over one of the men or one of the men obsessing over Arabella. Over and over and over and over again.
The plot is essentially non-existent, of course. Nothing really happens, and the little that does end up happening makes absolutely no sense.
How does this book have so many good reviews? Better yet, how was it even published? I really don't understand...

I'm a sicker for a book where the main characters are monsters, so the blub of this very much appealed to me.

If you want a quick, steamy RH with a range of monstrous characters who all are totally soft on one human girl, then you'll likely enjoy this book.

I don't really read a lot of RH anymore, as I find myself mostly out of patience for the tropes and how samey they all are, as if there is some sort of RH cook book and every author just includes the same elements. After about 2 years of reading so much in the genre I've found myself going back to reading mostly Urban Fantasy and only dipping into RH when it piques my interest.

I did enjoy this book, despite it being full of the usual RH tropes. I was in the mood for something like this and it hit the spot. Yes, Arabella is totally miss perfect pants and all of these terrifying nightmares are like a bunch of puppy dogs following her around with their tales wagging, but it's very readable and if you don't take it tok seriously it's enjoyable.

I liked all of the guys. There's more of them than I usually like in RH, as it's hard to actually develop any of them properly, but the fact they were all these different nightmares helped.

The plot mainly revolves around her and the guys and them coming to terms with how they can all be with a human without basically killing her in the process. There is some other stuff about a group of humans that try to kill the nightmares, but it's really not the focus at all.

So, all in all, I would definitely recommend giving this book a try if you enjoy relationship focused RH where the Harem are all monsters.

I liked the concept, the nightmares themselves and what we learned so far of the characters. I liked the multiple POVs and the originality of the different types and classes of monsters.
I wish it had been a bit more fleshed out, with more about the world and more of the characters' histories and a bit less of the inner monologues over their relationships. I also had a few problems with the writing style, the flow of the story. The flashbacks were good for fleshing out the characters' backstories a little but I found that the wandering between topics and back again made me lose the thread. I would have preferred to see how Arabella was found rather than a hindsight memory (maybe a prologue from her adoptive dad's pov of Razar finding her and deciding to keep her) and how each member came to join the team, to see how they interacted and built up their relationships, rather than starting off with the team already together and just adding in a new guy and then suddenly deciding to act on suppressed desires. It made it harder to distinguish the guys or get an idea of their personalities, or care about them. The lovey-dovey stuff was ok, but I just wasn't feeling the connection and so skimmed over a lot of the sex scene.
I also wish the action, the actual story, had been more developed before the sudden cut off. It felt like half a book.
Overall it's not bad. I will look out for the next one.

Nightmares are being hunted by a group of humans against monsters, ISS is a facility that serves as a safe haven for them. Arabella is an unusual human but a human non the less, the facility is run by her father and is home to many monsters. Arabella has her own team of monsters, creatures that she's loved some if them for years....yet mating with a nightmare might just be the death of her. When the humans attack the facility Arabella finally finds out she's not quite as human as she thought

******
I love me some monster romance, even better when it's a rh
My biggest problem with this book is that 95% of it is internal monologue by one of the MCs....I mean it's interesting and sometimes funny internal monologue but it isn't quite what I wanted in my romance
Aside from that I love Arabella and all her potential mates
Nothing much happens until the end when we finally get an idea of what Arabella is

It’s 3am and I prefer not to do a detailed review this late so if you want one, look at Miki’s review!

Honestly, I really liked this series! It was unique and I loved every one of her guys! I do wish we saw more one on one time with them + more group time but all in all, this series was a great read.

Safety info:
- Virgin heroine
- 7 or 8 men? I forgot the number
- every single one of her mates is a virgin except one!
- the one mate who isn’t a virgin is someone who didn’t know her earlier like the others/ they just met and he has only been with 3 people before in his lifetime. That was when he was younger and he is either hundreds or thousands of years old so he’s been celibate for a WHILE
- no OM/OW drama
- all the H’s only have eyes for her
- Birth control used in books 1&2 but no protection in books 3&4 if I remember correctly

Hell ya! Keep em comin!! Cant wait for the next book. One of the most intriguing and quirky books i have read !!!
A nightmare RH ? Seriously?? Book broke all the inhibitions. Handsdown Best 5 star read of the year!
Monsters of the Darkness being lead by a tiny human girl. They are more Humane than any human. The book had me interested till the end. There was no drag , just the apt amount of drama for the story to get by.
Overall its an amazing first book. Looking forward for the next on in the series.
Would defintely recommend this book to every RH addict out there.

This story grabbed my attention right from the start. The characters aka Nightmares were fascinating and oh so darkly captivating. I honestly can't wait for book two. The cliffhanger has left me so freaking excited for what Arabella has planned! Plus I really want to get to know Eve more, she seems like she would make a perfect girl friend for Arabella who's usually only surrounded by men.

The only issue I had with the book was the inner monologues. Gods most of this book is spent inside the characters head, and ok I appreciate knowing what they are thinking, etc but not to the point where the chapters become mostly internal monologues. It just ends up boring me and dragging the reading, so I won't lie, I skipped a few pages from time to time when the inner turmoil of the character started to drag a bit too much for me.

Otherwise, I would fully recommend this book. It's a nice change from the usual "hero" plot that evolves around saving the damsel in destress and what not. This story was so different and so well written, I think I'll probably read it a second time in the future

⭐️⭐️✨ 2.5 Stars (rounded down to 2)! ✨⭐️⭐️
The idea of this book was something that interested me enough that I went ahead and pre-ordered it, and then when I read it, I was a little disappointed. This book had an amazing concept, literal nightmares, and yet…. It just fell flat.

Arabella is the main FMC, and I really did like her. She’s got a good head on her shoulders, despite the fact that she’s human surrounded by actual nightmares, and she’s good at her job and keeping them all as calm as they can be. She was a lot different to what the blurb made her sound, which was a good surprise. I love that she knows what she wants (sex, and lots of it), but I need a deeper connection to her that I felt this book was missing.

The harem themselves are psychotic, and well, they couldn’t really be any other way. I love that about them, and I think they’re a good fit for Arabella. My biggest issue is that I couldn’t really tell them apart—Amun and Saint aside. The group kind of blurred together, and that made it difficult to keep track of what was happening in the book. Amun is extremely interesting.

There was a scene with Saint that confused me, and I’m going to be marking it as a spoiler, so please don’t click it unless you’re willing to read it.

I really loved the use of flashbacks. I found it helpful the way they were slotted into the book without needing their own chapter, and they are really good at adding to a character's backstory. It was a good way of helping me tell some of the guys apart, and I think they flow really well.

Like I said, the premise of this book was interesting. I think the execution was a little bit of a let down. I love hearing the inner thoughts of the characters, especially when it adds depth to a scene or even to them as people. You don’t sit in a room in silence and not think, but I think there could have been a better balance in dialogue and thoughts. At some points the book had these inner thoughts for pages and pages.

Positives: Arabella is sweet, funny and a really good FMC & the storyline is intriguing.
Negatives: too much inner thoughts (especially focusing on sex) and the scene with Saint.

Overall, this series has promise, and I’m hoping the next one gets a little better. This book was different to other ones by M Sinclair that I’ve read, and I’m not sure if I truly like it. The cliffhanger is interesting, but not soul-destroying. I would recommend this book if you don’t mind internal thoughts and extremely crazy men!

This is one of the best books I have ever read!!

Soothing Nightmares was one of the most original and unique stories I have ever had the absolute pleasure of reading. I mean, what it must be like to be in brilliant mind of M. Sinclair...wowza! Just an absolute masterpiece!

I was so completely captivated and consumed from the very beginning. To see a story come to life that introduces what it’s like if the ‘monsters under the bed’ were real. To have a war brewing under the surface as bigoted humans realize that these Nightmares are very real and have been around since the beginning of time.

Arabella is an incredible lead female character! I loved that she was confident and unafraid, that she accepted the Nightmares for who they were. She didn't try to change them or sham them for being completely who they are. And her connection with her team was so beautiful, intense and lust-filled. They were all so intricately bonded on a deep level. Her Nightmares were all so unique. The stories behind the various types of Nightmares was so interesting! M. Sinclair did a wonderful job describing them each in detail that was so descriptive it was like I could picture them right in front of me.

I fell hard for Arabella's Nightmares! They intrigued me so much that it was impossible to stop reading! I genuinely cannot wait for more of this series. I have never read anything like this before and I am craving more of this story like my next breath!

Yeah okay, here's the thing...

The thing with this book was it took me at least 15 pages in to not abandon this book. Usually, reading M. Sinclair, books it takes her a minute to pull you in and when she does it on an poppin... She knows how to capture you and entertain you. However, it took my girl a bit to long to get me there this time, but I'm glad I stuck with it and gave myself a chance to get to know these characters and what they were all about.

I will say this first book of the series was all about character development and the group dynamic of our MC Arabella's harem of alpha males and how they came to find her.

So, now I expect book two will have more meat and grit to this building storyline from the change of pace in the last three chapters of this book.!

So with being said I'm off to jump into the next book of the series.. byeeee for now!😜✌

Bella’s pink milkshake brings all the nightmares to the yard, apparently. Cool concept, poor execution. Not much happened in this story. Plot? What plot? There was a whole lot of repetitive inner monologue, obnoxious fourth wall breaking, and too damn many guys to remember though.

Interesting concept

I'm a sucker for villain or a "monster" as the hero. This book did very well in bringing those types of characters. We spent a lot of time with character establishment, hopefully the next book will deal more with conflict.Im hoping the heroine will be a little less Mary Sue like. She's not fantastic at everything, but the devotion of the monsters makes it a fine line.

And I'm just here for the monsters.

Series Review

Rating: 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 2/5 🌶️🌶️ (depending on the book)
Tropes: RH, monsters, size difference, innocent heroine, obsessive MMCs

It was a solid interesting read. I think the smut could have been better (no group scenes) but it was a good story. I love obsessed and protective MMCs, especially of the monster variety. Yes please.

I liked how each MMC had a different and distinct personality, which was important since the harem was large (and I do mean large in more than one way).

Unusual story line. Follows human FMC who is abandoned at a nightmare monster institute as a baby. The institute is home to nightmares who combat the vicious humans. Her team of nightmares are obsessed with her and her safety.

DNF, I got to 72% and had to call it quits.

Come on, almost 3/4 of the book and nothing happened, wtf. It has been like 2 days in the story, which just consists of the characters thinking of their feelings and how hot is their object of affection. Fucking hell, barely any action, not even that much dialogue.

I resisted because I liked the idea, the world the author created but this is too much, many many pages waiting for something important to happen.

I'm done with this series, which saddens me, I thought this would be awesome.

4 stars for ISS Book 1 ⭐️
* ARC provided in exchange for an honest review*

M Sinclair has been teasing us with the concept for this book for a while, and when I say that I was excited for this release, i really mean it.

at this point in time, M is known mainly for two things- Large harems & Psycho MMCs. This book definitely hit both of those things hard and fast, and I am so excited to get to know more about the guys.

As far as series starters go, this was a great one. There was a good combination of character development and world building, but it left me wanting. (and not just in the “omg can’t wait for book 2!” kind of way.)

i’m going to try to keep this short and simple, but let’s see how it goes.

what i liked:
- the psycho men 🤤
- large harem 🕺🏻
- very interesting concept & storyline
- love the monster under the best aspect
- looooove the friends to lovers trope
- the dad
- the friendships between the Hs

what i wasn’t as much of a fan of:
- how many times the word sexy was used in this book
- that 75% of the h’s thoughts were of sex with the guys.. like pages of it
- how they’re all so bad at communicating with each other

what i would’ve liked to see more of:
- the guys’ interactions with each other
- arabella with people OTHER THAN HER HAREM
- more of the guys’ individual personalities

overall, i would definitely recommend this book to those who like psycho Hs, PNR, and RH, and i will be looking forward to the next book.

Monsters galore. Sinclair has written a series about a human girl and her protective monsters with lots of sexual tension. I was drawn in with the monsters and can’t say I was disappointed with that. Sinclair definitely brought the monsters in this book and I really enjoyed that aspect. It was mostly the reason why I kept reading.

Our heroine, Arabella, is a human who was abandoned at a monster refuge. She was raised without fear for these monsters and grew to defend them as the world continued to antagonize them. Granted, some of them truly have it out to hurt everything they touch, but most just want a slice of the normal life. The ISS (I read this as ISIS wayyy too many times rip) make it so that those monsters can live that way, but the monsters who run these missions are dangerous and can be very much anti-heroes (which I love). So, Arabella is straight up fearless when it comes to monster dangers. She doesn’t feel threatened at all. That comes in handy when her team is full of the top-tier monsters people wet their pants seeing. In fact, their danger factor turns her on. Go figure. There are six of them, seven including her new addition to the team, and they are all drawn to her. Desperately. The same goes for her. Too bad they could crush her with their little pinkie finger. And in there lies the angst and sexual tension.

I felt I was more intrigued with the world building than I was with the actual relationships and I wanted more of it cause it wasn’t as developed as I would have liked. All the relationships were pretty much established except for Amun, who came last into this crew, and I just had a hard time investing in their budding relationships. There were plenty of flashbacks to give us the substance we needed to connect, but it felt disjointed with the plot. The plot veryyy much in the backseat and the desire is riding shotgun. It’s not necessarily bad... but I wish their was more substance. Like, the insta attraction and lust is OFF THE CHARTS. I wish I got more involved with their characters at least.

Anyhoo, not sure how I’ll feel about coming back to this series when the second book comes out. If you’re looking for a monster RH book with very alpha protective, blurred lines dudes and a somewhat interesting heroine, then hop on board this book.

The author has created such an interesting world and I cannot wait to learn more about it. I feel like I was sucked into it within the first few pages and I’m more than happy to stay here.

I love that this book is based on the “villains”, our “nightmares”. There’s a meme floating around that says that a hero would sacrifice you to save the world but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you and I think that fits this book perfectly.

The FMC, Arabella, was brought up surrounded by these “nightmares”, but it can definitely be argued that humans are the real nightmares. The book is told in both her POV and the nightmares’, I just adore hearing their inner monologues and understanding more about them. The FMC POV is very informative as well and I love how the author includes memories and stories so flawlessly during the narratives.

A majority of the book is learning about the relationship of the group, the world and the characters. For many books, this would be pretty slow but I think it worked perfectly. I feel like I’m still wanting to know so much more even though quite a bit was learned and done in the little time that passed.

There is a lot of romantic and sexual tension, definitely a slow-burn, but the tastes we were given were quite satisfying. Satisfying in that I need the second book ASAP. The author just started giving us what we wanted and then the book ended, leaving us with a delicious book hangover. The ending left us with many possibilities so I’m excited for the next installment!

This book is every naughty girls fantasy come to life! Sexy possessive nightmares who only show affection and love for their mate, what more could you really ask for? Arabella is a human in a nightmares world, but that’s the way she likes it and wants it. She’s on a team with “her nightmares” that search out other nightmares who are persecuted and mistreated by humans for being what they are. Arabella has a strong connection to her guys and they are all so diverse and consuming in their own way. So, what’s the problem between them all? Arabella is a human and fragile, she’s not meant to mate with the nightmares. How will they all figure out their dynamic? You’ll have to read and see! If you like your men flawed, possessive and dark but with a soft side for their woman then you will LOVE this!!

Nooooooooo. Why did it have to end! I want more.

Another amazing story by M. Sinclair. Her talent for creating stories and characters that are engaging is unparalleled. Her ability to describe both physical and emotional scenes gives a depth to her stories that isn't usually seen.

What I truly loved about this book is how it is different than the usual urban fantasy or paranormal storyline. The Nightmares that she writes about are unique. Having a story in this genre that gives something new is a gift that I am thankful for. Add in the possessive, psychotic men in Arabella's life and you have a book you won't want to put down

* Series Review Books 1-4*

~ sweet naive h but not a doormat
~ virgin Hero’s
~ shifted fun times
~ lovable possessive mates (psychos)
~ touch her and die, literally
~ breeding talk

☑️ gore, violence, killing, beheading, etc.

✅ no ow, cheating, mm, death of main characters

I asked for recommendations for OTT JP harems and this delivered in spades.

Arabella is a human in love with her nightmares (monsters) and them with her. The lengths they go to make sure no other male will steal her, look at her or hit on her is hilarious and just what I was looking for. Saint even has a garden of his kills. The best part for me is Arabella is independent and strong willed but still loves this possessive behavior and doesn’t discourage it.

There’s some great shifted fun with the guys, but unfortunately we only get one scene each per guy, they’re pretty short and no group activity. I became bored with the narrative and action, too much info dumping and introspection, I began skimming those sections, wanting more intimate relationship scenes. I really enjoyed all the banter between the guys though, especially around breeding Arabella.

Unfortunately Razar was my favorite in Book 1 starting what I thought would be a main role as childhood best friend, but Saint became the more prominent character going forward. I loved Saint that lovable psycho, but was sad Razar became background fodder and his first and only time with Arabella was a big let down. Some other characters were only explored superficially and I wondered why have them.

Overall it’s a fun palette cleanser series (other than the violence), I loved the JP harem, that 7/8 were virgins, the breeding and pregnancy talk plus shifted fun times.

Good concept

As always, M. Sinclair created a new realistic world with an original story and likeable character!🥰

So, this story spoke about Arabella, a mysterious pink hair woman (no dying, natural pink!!!) with a scar on her face, and a white eye😳 Definitely new and original! Arabella lived in an institute (I.S.S) which take care of nightmares, terrifying creatures coexisting somehow with humans. Her role in the institute? Soothing nightmares. In fact, Arabella didn't feel fear. Nothing, nada, niet. A very good point when you have to deal and negotiate with rogue nightmares who could crush you like an insect.
But Arabella wasn't alone in the institute😏😏😏 Of course, she was the leader of the most powerful nightmares team and guess what? They all desperately loved her but she didn't know. And she loved them as well but they didn't know or just hoped... So, no need to be a genius to understand that the story told how Arabella and her guys would deal with their feelings knowing that because she was human, she couldn't mate with them...

The only critique I would formulate is that the concept of a girl who loved blood thirsty psychotic guys who didn't know about her feelings and where she didn't know it as well made me think about "The Red Masque" serie. Ruthless crazy guys, a FMC who didn't care about it and who was even turned on by their crazyness... Well, quite the same😒 But anyway, it's a good book and I recommend it!

3 Apparently, I Was An Enchantress Stars

Soothing Nightmares is the first book in the I.S.S series by M. Sinclair.

I couldn’t finish the last portion of the book. Honestly, I loved the concept. It sounded so perfectly intriguing. But the more you read, the more pointless relationship whining and drama is thrust on you. The entire book is the MC complaining over the fact that the (now 6) monsters/nightmares she considers hers won’t act the reciprocated feelings she shared with them all. And of course you find she isn’t entirely human. Which isn’t a spoiler it’s very obvious from the synopsis, more so from the description she gives of her self.

I deeply liked all of the characters and would be happy to learn more about them. But seriously where is the plot? Where is the structure to the story? It just one big whine-fest. And I can’t rn.

I wish we had been given more background into the nightmares society and hierarchy. I enjoyed discovering all the different classifications even though the descriptions into anything of this nature was almost a rambled mess.

Might check out the next book? To see if it improves on the series, and concept. But who knows.
