I’ll be damned if the grad school textbook I had to read cover to cover doesn’t count towards my 2025 reading goal

Look I got an A in this class, but this textbook still sucks. Unbelievably dry and overpriced for a text that is riddled with typos and repeatedly opens sections by saying how what I'm about to read is not relevant to my degree but I should still know about it. Textbook publishing is a scam--if you're going to force me into buying something that is a digital copy that I don't even own indefinitely at least take some pride in your work and make sure researchers' names are spelled correctly. Two fat big thumbs down!

Good enough, not great in print. The print is occasionally not crisp and the LOs are in font too faint to read easily. Would have been useful to have a list, or link to a list of assessments appropriate for use by an LCPC rather than spend so much time discussing assessments that LCPCs will not be administering themselves. Perhaps a clear division within chapters to indicate which will just be more data received by the counselor, but scored and interpreted by someone else. Clearly and succinctly written.

This isn’t the funniest topic, but the stories and examples made learning assessments more accessible!
