Sent on a mission from a destroyed Earth, two androids raise humanity’s best hope for the future on a distant planet. But the monsters that forced them to leave still haunt this new home…
Raised by Wolves #1 by Aaron Guzikowski is a short piece of the story and doesn't give much more than a glimpse. Interesting. This is a comic/graphic comic book.
Primer for E01 It does not bode well for a tv series if you watch the pilot, only for it to make some kind of sense after reading a short comic book. I only found this passably interesting because it is Ridley Scott and it hints at a broader mythology. This became overly burdensome for the Alien franchise, so it will be interesting to see if Scott can make something fresh here.
A companion to the excellent tv series, this first and unfortunately a bit short issue offers more information about the Mithraic's raise to power and the war.
A nice bit of art on its own, but it conflicts with the series, where the children very soon learn that Mother herself can transform into a Necromancer. Why would she set them up to be terrified of herself? I have to assume these ratings were made long before the series got to the relevant plot points. It's also a shame the series itself doesn't make clear that ordinary Necromancers don't disguise themselves as "service models", the way Mother does, I've seen a bit of confusion on the internet about this.
"You come from a planet called Earth. It was a good planet, and would have lasted much longer if only the humans who lived there could have found peaceful ways to resolve their differences. But an argument can never be resolved if one of the parties refuses to see reality for what it is... and so there was war."
I recently saw a few trailers for Raised by Wolves and I was intrigued. When I did a little more research I found that Ridley Scott was involved and that this comic book tie in was available for free on Amazon.
It is a short taster, at only 9 pages, but it gives enough of an insight to make me want to watch the show, which has just been renewed for a second season.
Earth has been destroyed and it is up to two androids, mother and father, to raise a group of children on an alien planet.
Well, if you like Raised by Wolves then you should read this! #1 gives you a little bit more info about Earth before the show, the war and the creation of necromancers! It’s a good quick read
Good color artwork. HBO freebie. This would be easier to review if it was 32 pages. A brief preview of a streaming show? In the humanity is greatly reduced in numbers after a holy war . Robots take the place of parents.
So shortttttt, I didn't notice that the issue only has 9 pages, buy it's interesting anyway, I'm looking forward to learn more about this world, I hope the next season comes soon, or at least another issue
Enjoyed every minute reading this! The art work was very good. I have shared this series already with my friends. I only wish HBO Max wasn't so expensive.
Nope this is as boring to endure to the series of which it's based; that's a bad sign when skipping pages is needed to keep my interest. NOTE IT DIDN'T!
A very short introduction to a TV show. The premise is interesting but is just crumbs for a lot of world-building. It certainly has made me interested to check out the show.
I started watching Raised by Wolves this week and I am obsessed! This short comic was cute. I can’t believe it was canceled after season 2. I need more of RbW!
