Cute introduction to the library that encourages listener participation. Lots going on in the illustrations that could lead to more talk about libraries and what you can do there. Children will love this and will want you to read it over and over, but I can see adults growing weary of the song/read. Be warned and be prepared with other books that you can move on to at the ready!
Sung to the tune of "Wheels on the Bus", this story makes a great interactive introduction to the library and what we do there. The library portrayed in the story is just like ours: busy with kiddos all day long, child-centered, and a fun place to be. Some verses are jumping off points for other lessons, such as subject/author/title searching, but overall the emphasis is on the basics: checking in and out, using quiet voices, and enjoying stories together.
Pretty cute. A song about the a day at the library sung to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus". It also gives kids an idea of what the library has to offer and how to behave in the library. I like all the little stuffed animals and figurines around the computers and shelves. I must get this for my library!
If your kids love the Wheels on the Bus song and you want them to get excited about books, this is a great one to try! The illustrations are colorful and detailed, and the story/song showcases all of the good things that kids can find at the library. I particularly liked the page that shows the "Librarians have more fun" pillow on her desk chair.
The library featured in this book is a school library. Buzzeo includes many versus in the song. I only used a few during storytime, not all. It was a fun book to sing with a group.

Themes: library, library rules, book care, manners, songs & rhymes
Ways to use:as an introduction to the library in the beginning of the school year for young students, teaching library rules and manners, choosing library books
Our daughter felt she was "too old" for the book, but still liked looking at the pictures. There were a few times when she looked at the page and said "that's what we do at our school."
I love this story and the way it uses repetition to reinforce not just the rules for being in the library, but exploring all of the things libraries offer!
Because it is best read as a song, this has become a favorite in the week we've had it. Would probably work even better with kindergartners or first graders who go to the library in their school. Fun story and nice illustrations to boot.
Great book for teaching library skills during storytime. It's a little text heavy for my short lesson times, but even without reading the whole book, it's still a great fit. I LOVE Mrs. Skorupski, the Librarian, in this series too, with her quirky tarantula earrings and sparkly glasses.
I love all the Mrs. Skorupski stories and Toni's very helpful teacher materials (available on her website). I use all the books often with my students.
A fairly easy book for the young reader to read with little help, or a book that can be read to young ones in a sing song voice due to the song type written rhymes.
I love this variation on The Wheels of the Bus. As a school sub, I am adding this to my schoolbag. It didn't fit into the plans for today, but tomorrow is a new day!
A wonderful addition to our Take Your Child to the Library Story Time... a book about going to the library that is a song to sing to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus." I had to make one adjustment to the second verse as I am reading/singing this at a public library I changed "The children in our school can come and go" to "The children in the library come and go."
I love to sing this with my kindergartners in the library. They love interactive books with actions and I like to keep them busy and entertained. Great book!
