Two Shots Down is blazing his way up the ranks as one of the top bull shifters in the Pro Bull Shifter Riding Circuit. He has a chip on his shoulder a mile wide, and everything to prove. With a dark reputation as a cowboy killer, he has wrecked every interview he’s done in his career. He’s the bull shifter everyone loves to hate, and he’s just fine with that, except there is one he cares about. One woman whose life he ruined. One woman he damaged. One woman who probably doesn’t even know he exists. When that one woman stands up for him and the other top three bull shifters of the circuit, and offers to manage them, he knows he’s in for a bad time. She drags ghosts with her, and they’re haunting him. All he needs to do is get from event to event, and buck those riders off before that eight second mark. But during the most important time of his career, Cheyenne is tearing down his walls. And for the life of him, he can’t figure out if that’s a good thing, or a very, very bad thing.

Cheyenne left the PBSR years ago when tragedy altered her life forever. She used to represent the riders, but now she’s turning traitor and switching sides. She’s taking heat from everyone to represent three titan bull shifters who don’t even understand what she’s trying to do for them, and want nothing to do with her. She’s in way over her head, but she did this on purpose, to get to know the man who demolished her life all those years ago. She needs to know if Two Shots Down is really the monster he pretends to be, or if he might be the only other person on earth who could understand what she’s healing from. These bull shifters are rough, and violent, and intimidating, but Two Shots Down is showing her a softer side to the bulls. He’s funny, and caring, and protective of her always, and sexy as hell. The more time she spends with her, the safer she feels with the monster.

Now it’s up to Two Shots Down. If he wants to be a part of Cheyenne’s team, he has to win events…and that means being the biggest, baddest bucker in the world.

#moocrew...lol. You never know what TS is going to come up with for her shifters. So color me surprised when she came out with a Bull shifter series. A series about shifter bulls ranking out in the rodeo circuit. It was strange, weird and at times too funny with the your momma's a cow jokes....no really she was a cow. So it looks like we might get 3 or 4 more in the series, containing her usual fair of hot, tattooed and bearded hunkalicious mens on parade. So enjoy the show folks and the 8 second ride and don't think about it too hard, just have fun with it.

This is my first time reading about bull shifters and I thought they were very violent at the beginning. but as I read on, I found that beneath all that gruffness there was a softness that was very deeply hidden from the world for reasons unknown.

In this first book we discover Two Shots Down's ghosts, and it was literally a ghost! It takes a very determined widow to bring it all out and help Two make the ghost finally disappear, and not only for him.

I have to say I enjoyed this book very much I liked their tough attitudes which I thought I wouldn't. I enjoyed all their little quirks and how little by little it starts to disappear. There were so many times they made me laugh, I think I will continue to read this series.

What I really like about this author is how she writes shifters you rarely, if ever have seen. Bull shifters that partcipate in rodeos...OMG, never thought of this, but man did I want to read about it once I realized what was going on.

I liked how the 3 guys were all so rowdy, barely civil and quite frankly it seemed like they hated each other. Cheyenne had her work cut out for her to get them into some sort of team, then you throw in that Two Shots killed her husband years prior during a ride. Oh man, the drama! It was so much fun to see how things worked out, to see Cheyenne ride herd on the guys, to see the guys fight each other, to finally see the guys start to stand up for Cheyenne and each other. I loved how this one ended, loved that a great friendship was made, along with a great romantic relationship.

This book was a surprise in many ways. First, I didn’t know that the writer T.S. Joyce had a new book coming out so that was a lovely surprise. And the second surprise came when I read the blurb and read that the story was about bull shifters who compete in the Pro Bull Shifter Riding Circuit (PBSR)! That really had my attention and I couldn’t wait to read this story and I’m glad that I did because T.S. Joyce wrote another great story.

Quickdrawn Slow Burn, Dead of Winter and Two Shots down (yes, these bull shifters have interesting names!) are the top three bull shifters in the PBSR. .. but being in the top three doesn’t mean that they are rich or such. No! In the eyes of the humans (even the bull riders), they are nothing more than animals. And that is something that Cheyenne wants to change. She wants the bull shifters to have the respect that they deserve. But that is easier said than done because she doesn’t only have to convince the bull riders and the human world of this but also the bull shifters themselves are working against her ideas. But Cheyenne wants to prove to all of them that bull shifters are more than animals.

This story wasn’t only about Cheyenne and Two Shots Down but it was also about Quickdraw Slow Burn and Dead of Winter. This was my first shifter’s book that had bull shifters in it. But still, it didn’t really came as a surprise that these bull shifters were wild, intensive, rough, grumpy and very violent towards each other. But under all that hard and fierce exterior they also had a softer side (that was very good hidden!). But slowly these three bull shifters were showing this hidden part to Cheyenne and I loved that.

The story was told in both POV’s and I loved both the main characters (Cheyenne and Two Shots Down) very much and the secondary characters were great too! The story was funny and also emotional. The banter between the bull shifters and Cheyenne were funny and entertaining and the interaction between Two Shots down and Cheyenne was hot and even sweet at times. Cheyenne was sweet, caring and intelligent. I really appreciated how Two Shots Down treated her, He believed in her abilities and he let her do her job but he always had her back in every situation.

The writer T.S. Joyce may not write long stories but her stories are well develop and for a slow reader like me, her stories are the perfect read when I want a ‘quick’ relaxing story. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series!

Making A Difference!!!

Dalton aka Two Shots Down, a Bull shifter who killed a rider named Tarik Walker. He was one of tbe most famous bulls in the Pro Bull Riding Circuit. Most people hated him and he didn't mind, there was one woman he cared about even though he knew he shouldn't. Not after he'd destroyed her life. Now she was goinv to be working closely with him. What was a man to do!?

Cheyenne Walker's life was changed one day when she lost her late husband. She used to represent riders of the PBSR now she was representing the top three bull shifters (Two Shots Down, Dead of Winter and Quickdraw). People was turning their backs on her but she needed to know if the man who turned her world upside down was as bad as he showed people. Or was there more to him than beneath the eyes.

Having Cheyenne in his life wasn't a easy task for neither one of them. She brought back ghosts that he wanted nothing to do with but she always represented something more. Both of them found themselves falling and they couldn't see a way to stop it from happening. They took a chance and it was the best decision they've ever taken.

Loved how Two Shots, Quickdraw and Dead had each other's backs even though they acted like they hated each other. Cheyenne made that happen, she changed their relationship and the Bull Circuit world for the better. Two Shots was hers and she was his. But most importantly the four of them became the Moo Crew. They were a herd, no matter what. They were going places.

It was a delightful treat to see the Kaid Ranch occupants make an appearance. Their connection to Cheyenne was done beautifully.

TWO SHOTS DOWN is the first book in T. S. Joyce's newest series, BATTLE OF THE BULLS . What a phenomenal, amazing and interesting way to start off this new venture. T. S. Joyce did a magnificent job! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟

*WARNING* contains adult situations
Two Shots Down reminds me of a turtle because he always stays inside his protective shell. Cheyenne is the LAST person Two wants to see.
I like this storyline. A Bull shifter is new to me. Then to have the shifter compete in the rodeo with the world knowing what they are. The top 3 Bull shifters have had some pretty rough lives, but they still have some pretty funny moments. I'm eager to see what kind of antics are coming in book 2.

Fantabulous! A nice twist on the paranormal shifter romance. I was intrigued by the concept of this book: a BULL SHIFTER hero who is a bull in the rodeo. The heroine is the widow of the cowboy he accidentally killed during a rodeo event.

The book totally lived up to its intriguing concept. I loved the characters and how the story panned out. Can't wait to read the next book in the series when it comes out.

I loved Shelter Me Home. Bears Fur Hire and Fire Bears, plus the Wolf Brides were all outstanding. Now I just pickup these new books to read for free, and I'm not even liking them. They all seem generic and repetitive.

I’ve read books about cowboys, rodeo cowboys, gay rodeo cowboys, but not shifter rodeo bulls. How can anyone resist that? And the book was awesome!

As I read, I went back and forth between this is a great representation of the existential
battle between men and shifters that never stops, just the faces change. And then I’d think: this is so frigging weird. These are cows! To stress this point, they are called by their bull names. The hero is Two Shots Down and the other two bulls are called Dead of Winter and Quickdraw Slow Burn. The names are stage names and they are what everyone calls them.

The heroine, Cheyenne, is awesome. To make Two Shots talk to her she disables his truck herself. She is very good at her job and is prepared for any emergency. Cheyenne even spent a couple of months being taught first aid for bulls. She can turn any interview around with her quick mind and natural warmth.

This book is hilarious. The writing is witty and fun. I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s just so weird and so awesome.

It's been a while since I read a work from Ms. Joyce and shame on me for that. Her stories are always so unique and so very well done. Two Shots Down was no exception. There are some stories that you know you'll want to go back to time and time again so although I read it on KU, I bought myself the copy right after. I loved it that much. My heart melted with Cheyenne and Two Shots Down's interactions and I laughed with Dead of Winter's antics. One of my favorite things about Ms. Joyce's stories is how it often involves characters emboldening another so that they gain confidence, believe their strength and accept they are 'enough'. It's one of the most beautiful things a person can do for another. This story had it in spades. I can't wait to read the next in the series. I highly recommend giving this story a shot.

Not What I Hoped

3.5 Stars - Two Shots story is the first in the series. Even though this story draw me in ...I felt the execution was not as solid as some of this author's older series and I miss that. There were too few love scenes. It definitely needed more for me. Some scenarios in the story were not fully come to completion, as the story plot warranted. I did enjoy all of the funny moments though. Unfortunately for me, it felt disjointed towards the end. Because I own every single book by this author, I will try Dead's story and hope it will redeem this series for me.

I have read every series from this author and had been waiting for a new one. I wish for more like the Boarlander Bears.

#Moo Crew😍

Absolutely loved this new series by T.S. Joyce due to its uniqueness and also because it was a little longer than her norm😜

Two Shots Down is a bull shifter and he is vying for the top spot. When him and two other bull shifters get called into a meeting to be informed that they will be getting a manager - it’s no other than the woman who’s husband he killed😭 Two Shots is not happy with this arrangement but as him and his new manager get to know each other, they find they have an undeniable chemistry and are in this together with Dead and Quickdraw❤️

Can’t wait to find out more about the other two shifters❣️

I think Ms. Joyce can be such a wonderful storyteller. She can be soo great at pulling me in and getting to
love and feel for characters characters I never imagined I'd care for or love. While I do get a bit tired of
everyone have such hard luck stories at times, and being told their broken or useless. On the whole she's
created ppl and places I love. Thank you for Ms. Joyce.
Soo many of your fells need to be in a RH I'd create if I were able ;)
Unlike one reviewer I like the new and different and unusual shifters. If bears and dragons and wolves and big
cats are old school,I want a new school w/them plus squirrels, bulls, gators, dogs, cats, rabbits, kangaroos, griffins and just about anything else cleaver and imaginative ppl can come up w/and put into a fun, compelling and interesting story. I was thrilled w/the ideas and angle of this story ,it was soo interesting and unique. The idea of a bull shifter accidentally killing a cowboy and falling for his widow ,is just soo different I loved that. Then of course
the usual cast of characters w/their "I Hate you all!'s " and the fights and all the flipping each other off but done
in the weirdly loving but completely dysfunctional way Ms. Joyce does best.
While Dalton (Sorry,I can't call him by his "Bull name" when I'm thinking about the man) and Cheyenne felt right
together to me,something was just off or missing for me.
I'm not completely sure what but I know the lack of relationship between the man/men and his/their animals/s was a big part of it. The cowboys are wrong these men are men not animals! But that's completely true either
they're both. To me a shifter is both human and animal and they _should_ be in balance. I like my shifter stories best when the animal side is an active participant in the shifters life and story. Silence isn't right. Now while I can't
see a bull having a lot to say, there should be something. Usually in Ms. Joyce's stories you at least have: "mY lions ,bear, wolf, owl, crow, moose etc. wants this or that. The animal even if it doesn't take over like Ramsey's ctow did at times or chatter all the time like Levi's wolf did (couldn't finish that book, loved the wolves chatter but that was all) but there _should_Be_ something. Dalton/Two Shots should have been saying how his bull wanted Cheyenne
as it's mate of something. We're talking about a guy who uses his animal to make his living yet NOTHING. Nothing
is said. It's like the bulls are just empty violent voids. That just didn't feel right. I'm temped to buy it. It's certainly
worth the price to me but I walked away feeling empty still. If felt like a small sandwich of book, mentally,it should have been at least a little filling but I left feeling like I'd just had cotton candy instead. Should there have been more layer or more depth? O,yeah, that's something I'm always asking for in one of Ms. Joyce's books.
But honestly other than the animal side being a blank space or empty void, I don't know.
Except that I wish as nice as the ending was it had felt more secure. O know know there are more books to come.
I looking forward to them. But Dalton and Cheyenne will be background characters there and their story ended
feeling like something in between a HFN and not quite a HEA. These still feel lile just their dating and that's ok
per se considering the amount of time they've been together. But they haven't declared themselves as mates and
Chey doesn't get to become a "were cow" or anything. They don't feel complete and we won't ever get to ge in their lives like this again. *shakes head* just doesn't feel right.
I completely recommend. Just wish

In the beginning, I didn't care too much for the mc's. Two Shots was a jerk who lived in a constant pity party. He was an a$$ bcuz he felt guilt yet he continued bull riding knowing he could accidentally kill someone else.. I would think if he was so traumatized, he would have gotten a new job.

I also didn't get Cheyenne. She knew the bull shifters were arrogant jerks and went for the manager job anyway. In the first meeting, the guys only decided to listen to her bcuz she busted out crying. She thought she was tough and at her first chance to show toughness, she wept. Also, why was she surprised when the media went crazy over her managing the man who killed her husband? /sigh... Theeeeen, the first night Two Shots stays in a hotel room, she's told he is in the room with another girl so she angrily bursts in and when she discovers it was all a rouse, she kisses him? She would have slept with him if he didn't back off.. When I found out she stayed with her deceased husband- knowing he was cheating and even texting the other woman in front of her, I lost more respect. Her husband told Cheyenne he wouldn't stop seeing the other woman and the whole time she stayed with him and wondered "why I couldn’t be good enough for him.” Geez!!

Also, why were the bulls unknowingly living out of their trucks and being treated badly while the riders got money, perks, and expensive hotels for YEARS?!? People came mainly for the bull shifters and the men knew this. Not too bright.

As the story went on, the main and side characters did become a lot better. As usual, Ms. Joyce pulled it off and made everyone loveable. Definitely going to continue the series

So good

Another good book ! I can honestly say that this took m by surprise. Cheyenne has so much class, and with what her husband had done to her... her to not call him out on it which is what most women do. She has love and just so much good in her and that’s what Two sees and talks about. Horrible situation and later they come together it’s fate. Loves it!

The Moo Crew

Real rating: 4.5⭐︎

I hadn't realized Joyce has another book out, and upon reading the description I wasn't sure I would like a book about bull shifters... but you know what? This was light, funny, easy to read, and had a surprising amount of heart in it. And, the Kaids make an appearance in it, which definitely didn't hurt how I felt while reading it.

Ms. Joyce can sell me on all of the unusual shifters. Wolves and bears are always fun to read about, but I think I love the non-standard shifters the best.

Cheyenne and Two Shot (Dalton to his family and friends—a very select group) have a long and complicated history. Three years ago, Two Shot killed Cheyenne's husband during a buck and is responsible for the only death on the Shifter Bull circuit. It was a tragic accident, but he's never let himself live it down, and he's literally being haunted by the dude before every buck. They were the ideal rodeo couple, and he ruined it, just like he wrecks everything he touches. Cheyenne vanished after the accident, so when she comes back into his life as his manager, he's thrown for a real loop. How can they possibly work together when he is eaten up by guilt...and her husband's ghost is trailing her everywhere?

If you like the rough and rowdy dynamics of the Kaid brothers, you will enjoy the bull shifter crew and how they relate. I crack up every time they violently maul each other and can't figure out what the big deal is: what's a little stabbing between coworkers?

But no one was listening to her. Not even a little. No one ever listened to her! Here she was trying to help these—these brutes! And they were all bleeding! On purpose!

HA. Yeah, these boys all like to play rough and maim.

I really loved the Dalton/Cheyenne dynamic. It's a lovely story about forgiveness and healing yourself by helping heal the other person. I loved that like most of Joyce's heroines, Cheyenne is vulnerable and has weak spots, but she's also determined and driven and knows how to get what she wants. Dalton's an absolute sweetheart underneath the layers of prickles; he was shaped by decades of hurts and seeing how not to treat someone you care about. So there's none of this treating Cheyenne badly while he's in denial stuff. He's gruff, but he's never awful to her, which I appreciated. He got with the program pretty quickly and the mild angst in this story is short lived.

But.

As lovely as they were...the real star of the show was Death. He had all of the best lines, and I seriously want to know where he hides all of that candy.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I am, quite frankly, always fascinated by the imagination of T.S. Joyce. And this time, I believe, she’s outdone herself with the Battle of the Bulls series. Usually, the animal and the human share a body, an outlook but, for the most part, are an equal half of the other. This time we aren’t getting cowboys who ride bulls in the rodeo… we get the bulls who are trying their best to buck off those cowboys to deny them that 8-second victory. That reversal of roles is reinforced by their names, the names of their bulls are used as nicknames throughout… but I found myself thinking (and substituting) Dalton whenever Two Shots’ nickname was used.

Three titan bulls, the biggest, the baddest, and the most dangerous on the circuit are about to get the representation that they never expected in the form of one woman who should hate them all with a passion since her husband was accidentally killed by Dalton when his glove wouldn’t release and he was trampled under the bulls’ hooves. But, Cheyenne is out to prove something to herself, to the others who are on a hate campaign against her, and these three bull shifters. She wants answers, and she wants them from Dalton – the shifter who changed her life in many ways… and is about to do that again on another level.

This series takes place in the world of the Kaid Ranch series (and we get a quick cameo but this isn’t their story so it’s just a mention).

I adored the banter between Two Shots Down, Dead of Winter, and Quickdraw – these three titan bull have an attitude, pranks, issues, and a respect for each other hidden behind barbed words, and their interactions brought a reality to their story that I cannot wait for the next books to arrive. Dalton and Cheyenne are so good together. Sure, there is the past to be dealt with but the passion between them, the right mate feeling makes them one of my favorite couples to date. Add in some danger, some confrontations, a lot of giggles from the bull shifters’ pranks and actions, and a whole lot of sizzling, steamy moments and you’ll find a story to enjoy on every level.

If you love getting in on the beginning of a series, if you love a really good Shifter Romance then you’ll want to check out Two Shots Down and get started on the Battle of the Bulls series… now.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I've not read any bull riding romance. I dont recall any books written with bull shifters. I love unique and different shifters. I adored this book and I cant wait for the next 2. This isnt super gritty like some of her other books I've read. Its got some but definitely a little more mellow. Thats okay though because these dudes are Monsters in their own right. They got their issues. I cried my tears like I always do when I read her stories. I felt the heartbreak and sadness. The glimpse of sweetness and awwww moments. God and the humor Quickdraw wanted her to stop crying so he gave her lint from his pocket...I'm dead...hahahahaha. Now THAT is her style. Hilarious and just not something normal writers think about or write. I love the shenanigans. Love the crazy she brings to her readers because life is messy. There are those imperfect moments like getting hot sauce on your pants and you keep wearing them even stained or ripped.

Cheyenne had a heartbreak years ago when her husband was killed in the sport being a bull rider. Now being in the same space with the bull who killed him is making them both nervous and unsure. Her husband wasnt the angel he was portrayed as in the spotlight. Still she was broken for awhile but she couldnt help being drawn to Two Shots because at the end of the day they both felt pain. Two Shots has his own baggage to deal with and thats how he bucks...he uses that anger and pain. He's a sweetheart and he cant help falling for Cheyenne either. Protective and wants her happy. Tries keeping his distance but yeah that doesnt work. Neither can help it and damn they are smokin together. I love how she wants to help the bulls out because they are treated like animals which is only part of what they are. They are people too and should be treated as such. She goes to bat for them as their agent. She's a strong woman and I loved loved that ending.

I always enjoy picking up a new T.S. Joyce because I know the story will be different from anything I've read before. I really liked the idea behind this one - following some bull shifters that bucked in a rodeo. Definitely different!

Unfortunately, I just didn't really like the core relationship in this one. Two Shots and Cheyenne were just kind of boring together. I actually liked the idea of Cheyenne falling in love with the man who accidentally killed her husband. It seemed like it would be some interesting drama to work through. But, I think making Terik such a jerk made it an easy cop-out. There just wasn't any drama at all, so what was the point except to make the press ask her uncomfortable questions? The same thing could have just been done by her being involved with a shifter-bull anyway.

It was also confusing in the beginning trying to understand just how well they knew each other. Two Shots was so nervous about being around Cheyenne, and the way she started crushing on him almost from the first moment they come into contact made me think that they had some kind of shared history. But they really didn't. They knew OF each other, but they hadn't been friends when she used to work the circuit. So, the way the relationship is presented feels a bit rushed, without enough real buildup.

I think the other problem I had was that Two Shots and Cheyenne were just really overshadowed by Dead and Quickdraw. They were just better characters. More quirky and funny. Their banter was the only thing that really gave this thing life.

So, I might give Dead of Winter a chance just because I enjoyed him so much in this one, but this book was a bit disappointing because it really just felt like a super-long prologue to the series.

Not quite 3 & 1/2 stars.
I had a hard time with this story, so I'm not sure how to rate it. If I tried hard not to think about the paranormal side of things, and that the guys shift to rodeo bucking bulls, the story was good & had enough of a back story to hold my interest for the most part. I'll be honest, I almost quit the book early on, just because of the guys's bull shifter side. I applaud the author for trying to write unique stories with shifters of a different kind, but it's just really hard to wrap my mind around rodeo bucking bull shifters. I guess I had too many years in ranching with a ton of exposure to cows & bulls to make the jump for this to work for me. Dalton/Two Shots Down (his bull's name, which was really hard to want to use this thru the whole book) is just really a hard character to appreciate in the first 1/3 of the book. It was overly polarizing for me with his character's behavior. Cheyenne was ok, believable enough to be in the rodeo scene, but not as a manager for the 3 hard headed bulls she was trying to manage. I would have liked the characters to be fleshed out more, I never really felt like I knew them enough to care about their HEA. This book didn't end with an HEA, more of an HFN (Happy For Now) ending, which also hurt the inclination to continue reading about the others. I didn't care enough for the other 2 bull shifters in the story enough to want to read their stories, in the series.

It seems to me T.S. Joyce can turn any animal into a shifter that is more beast than man the men/women broken in all different way but they are always carry good in their hearts.

When I started Two Shots down I was questioning if this bull shifter romance was going to capture me the way her wolves, bears, crows and ALL her others do. It took me by surprise how deeply this story affected me. These characters took me on an emotional ride that I wasn’t prepared for their emotions bled off the pages to my heart and sent tears down my face, more than once.

The intense connection between Dalton and Cheyenne was chock full of growing intensity. The connection that formed between not only them but between Two Shots, Dead and Quickdraw was a bit slower growing but became just as important to the story as the romance brewing. These guys and this very special woman became their very own herd forming an unbreakable bond of loyalty and friendship behind punches thrown and muttered insults.

This introduction to not only an all new species of shifters but an all new world from the mind of T.S. Joyce is filled with witty banter, laugh out loud moments, giggles galore at the antics of the members of this #MooCrew while they may make your jaw drop several times at their ridiculous behavior they will also very sneakily steal a piece of your heart.

Rodeo with a twist

T. S. Joyce adds bull shifters to her list of beastly boys who need a woman as inspiration to tackle their inner demons with this book. All I know about rodeo I learned from a B.A. Tortuga book, but adding the smack talk and soap opera type storytelling of professional wrestling would probably increase the audience.

Joyce's characters are always sympathetic, and you gotta love Dalton and Cheyenne. Cheyenne is possibly her strongest female character yet. After her husband died, she switched careers, and a year later, bought her own business. But running a diner wasn't enough of a challenge. She campaigned for bull shifters to get better benefits from the rodeo, then offered to be their first agent.

Dalton isn't as colorful, but he's worked his way up to the top 3 bulls on the circuit. He has a few personal demons, too. Like accidentally killing a man who was trying to ride him. Cheyenne's husband.

Being attracted to your client is bad enough for an agent. Being attracted to the man who killed your husband? That's news. And plenty of conflict for a romance novel.

I loved it.
