Most helpful book ever read. I am at mg third reading. If you are into self-development, spirituality, psychology, on the quest for the true self and the better version of you - this is all you need. I am a big reader and it is rare for me to state that a book changed me. And this one did. My entire vision of the world and myself changed after this. It really helps you to break through and move forward in a more functional way in the world. Give yourself something special for this 2021; exercises, questions and the depth of truth behind each phrase makes this book the last book on personal development you'll ever need to read. And rearead. And rearead...
This book has more value in each paragraph than in most self-help books. This was not an effortless read, not because the writing was bad, it was great, but because each chapter forced me to grow. Yes, it's confronting like other say, but in the best ways. We read these to grow and learn, not to be told what we want to hear, right?
Don’t get this if you’re looking for some motivational read. Get this book if you’re serious about getting unstuck and becoming enlightened. It is very easy language and not pretentious in religious dogma. This book is right up there with Eckhart Tolle or Tony Robbins.
I am DNFing this book. Not only do I find it repetitive and dull, but I cannot read a book that makes a joke of chronic illness and essentially says it’s not real. Chronic and invisible illnesses can and do define my life. Some things can be fixed, yes. Some things are about your world view, but you can’t tell me that severe pain doesn’t inhibit my ability to function. Changing my perception of it doesn’t stop it from happening.
Brilliant scope of topics covered. For people who have advanced knowledge on self development and are not seeing the progress they expected. Could have been written with better synthesis, in my opinion, some points went on for long I lost perspective of what book aims to reveal. Very good summary at the end of book.
Andrew Daniel’s Awaken to Your True Self is a straight-talking guide to breaking free from self-deception. He pushes you to take an honest look at your patterns, drop the excuses, and take full ownership of your life.
This book isn’t about feel-good advice. Daniel pushes you to face uncomfortable truths and break free from habits that hold you back. His take on self-awareness and emotional intelligence is blunt but refreshing.
Some parts may hit hard, especially if you’re not used to deep self-reflection. But if you’re ready for real change, this book delivers. It’s direct, honest, and packed with insights that can help you grow.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part looks at what might be making us stuck. The second part looks at various solutions. I have no doubt that Andrew Daniel is an expert in his field. I just found the book too long. I couldn't even finish over a period of three months. Admittedly I'm not used to listening to books as opposed to reading them. But even so... I gave up in the end, at the experiment in the penultimate chapter. I was impressed by the narrative but I'm not sure to what degree the book helped me get unstuck. A work in progress (me, that is, not the book).
This book needed lots of editing down. It could have been two chapters long and more useful to people without going through all of that filler. I liked what he said about choices and that we need to chose, instead wondering how make things work and then chose. No, you chose and then structure everything else around that.
The concepts in this book are simple, but the application of them requires a deep look at yourself and your life. I’ve not read anything quite like this. My life has changed so much I began applying the practices of this book. I recommend it to all of my hypnotherapy clients!
