I hope there will be more collections like this one because it was an absolute treat! We all wonder what happens to our beloved characters in between novels. These are their stories... One thing I love about C.S. Poe's writing is her brand of humor. It's so on par with her characters - a touch of hilarious, so much snarky sarcasm and self deprecation but never veering into mean. (I really do not care for funny stories but this is hard to pass up. Yep, it's that good) These stories made me laugh, ...more

Absolutely loved it.

I received a free early copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is a series of short vignettes about Sebastian Snow and Calvin Winter. I found it absolutely exquisite. I like the author's grasp on her characters. They do not feel like architypes- they feel like men, with flaws and annoying habits and yet they remain utterly loveable, to the reader as well as each other. This book provides several glimpse into the couples' lives between their mysteries, on their ordin

You know how sometimes you have those days where you really need to just get home, get changed into your comfiest items of clothing, order your favourite food delivery and just lay down on the sofa and feel the comfort of just being home. Yes, that feeling?

Welcome to Interlude.

I adore this series and I love that the author has pulled together this collection of short stories that add depth to the relationship between Seb and Calvin and wraps it up like a big warm (sometimes quite amusing) hug.

"Interlude" makes no bones about what it is - short vignettes and stories about Sebastian and Calvin, the heroes of "Snow & Winter". For lovers of the series, they are absolutely delightful. If you've never read the series, you'd probably enjoy them, but if at all intrigued, just go ahead and read "The Mystery of Nevermore" first, you'll be good to go. Half the fun of "Interlude" is the extra resonance they add to the stories you already know. ...more

Snow & Winter is one of my favorite series ever and I was overjoyed to get to revisit Calvin and Sebastian in this collection of shorts. I especially love getting to hear a bit from Calvin’s perspective there’s a particular short with him coming home from a hard day at work and finding Seb asleep on the couch waiting for him and I can just feel the love these two share and it’s beautiful. A delicious cherry on top to a wonderful series.

For those who not familiar with Sebastian Snow or Calvin Winter here’s a little information about them and other important characters.

Sebastian Snow is the owner of Snow’s Antique Emporium in NYC. He was born with achromatopsia, he can’t see colors, only shades of gray and has difficulty with bright lights. He makes his way fine through life with the occasional mix up of color coordinating his clothes. Sebastian is either an amateur detective or busy body and get’s involved in variety of mysteri

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

"Interlude" is a delightful collection of short stories set during and after the events of the four "Snow & Winter" novels and it is truly a must-have for every fan of this series.
I can't say which one I loved the most because they were all lovely and funny and sweet.

We get small glimpses of Sebastian, our resident snarky antiques dealer (and occasional amateur detective), and his life with Calvin (the actual, real-life detect

DISCLAIMER - I did receive an Advance copy of this book, but I also bought an official copy as well. This review is entirely my own opinion.

Did you ever wonder what your favorite book characters do with themselves when they’re not entertaining you while embroiled in their latest whatever? Did you ever wish you could be a fly-on-the-wall and have a sneak peek into their off-the-page lives? Well, thanks to C.S. Poe, now you can play the spy all you want, and you won’t even get arrested for it.

If you are a fan of the Sebastian Snow and Calvin Winter stories by C.S. Poe, this book is for you. It’s a series of brief glimpses into their lives, that shows us how very much Calvin loves his cranky, awkward, adorable husband, Sebastian. It's filled with humor, love, scary ghosts, lunch with exes, and so many feels, I had a moment at the lunch counter.

I loved these short stories so much, I wrote this to the author:
“Damnit Poe! You made me cry on my lunch break! There I was, reading “Interlude

I really enjoyed this - very much a book for the fans, this is a really cute and fluffy peak into Seb and Calvin's lives, full of funny and emotional scenes that occur between the original books. I would definitely recommend waiting to finish the original series before delving into these - they occur across the entire timeframe, so it would be confusing otherwise.

My only complaint was that this collection of scenes and snippits was too short and there wasn't enough Neil! Overall, they are a well

Yes, yes I got a free ARC and no, that does not affect this review. Let me first say this can not be read as a standalone. You need, no you should absolutely read Sebastian Snow and Calvin Winters semi cozy mystery/love story series. Such comfort reads! This is a collection of codas set throughout the series. Some old, but edited and elaborated, Some new. These codas give the reader more insight, details in the progression of their relationship. Some are sweet, Pop describing the color of Calvin ...more

4.5 Stars!

This is a collection of short stories set in the Snow & Winter universe, showing us moments in time in Calvin and Sebastian's relationship that fall in different parts of the series. You really need to read Interlude after reading the series for maximum enjoyment.

I loved getting to witness the growing intimacy between Sebastian and Calvin, and that even if things weren't always easy for them, seeing how they grew so much as individuals and as a couple in the time they'd been together

A perfectly human and often hilarious collection of stories that are the perfect extension of this series! Each story showcases all the little things that made me fall in love with Sebastian, Calvin and crew and the chaos that surrounds them. Their strenghts, vulnerabilities, and distinct personalities mixed with some mini mysteries and moments that make them all the more relatable. I laughed. I cried. I'm now going to be emotionally unavailable for a while because it's over yet again. For now. ...more

It's always a good day when I get to revisit with two of my all time favorite characters, Snow and Winter!
Interlude is a collection of delightful short stories that follow our favorite couple.
Full of all the snark we have come to expect and love from our residential antiques dealer Sebastian and the strength and patience that comes with Calvin!
Above all else is the absolute, unconditional love they have for each other!
I know that this will be a book I pick up and randomly pick one of the gems to

This is a set of fantastic short all in the Snow and Winter universe. This was absolutely, seriously fantastic!! Could NOT put it down!! The author has such an amazing imagination! I don’t really think I could pick just one short as my favorite; they were all sooo good!! I love Calvin and Sebastian’s flaws! They seem so real, every time I reread them. Loved getting more of their stories and I hope the author gives us more of Snow and Winters wonderful world! I am voluntarily leaving a review for ...more

Calvin and Sebastian are one of my all-time favorite detective couples. With this collection of shorts, readers get a more in-depth look at just what makes their relationship so amazing in the 4 main books of the series. All the humor, all the love, all the snark.

While not really a standalone, the stories here can be read all at once or interspersed while reading the series (timeline placement is noted with each story title). Either way, this book is definitely a value-adde

Entertaining collection of episodes in Sebastian's and Calvin's life together, developing their characters and expanding their history as a couple. You need to read Nevermore first to avoid spoilers, but they just flow along, covering apartment hunting, Sebastian's approach to vacations, his love of romance novels, Calvin's struggle with depression and flashbacks. Antiques, crime, friendship all feature, and I was very sorry to reach the end of the final story, I enjoyed them so much! ...more

Now for more from my favorite writer and fantastic characters

These short, wonderful insights into two of my favorite characters by C.S. Poe. Love, romance and laughs made my evening. These vignettes fill in the blanks between the four books in the Snow and Winter mystery series (which I have on both ebook and audiobooks) and let her readers know what happens post The Mystery of the Bones. This just whets my appetite for more of these marvelous mysteries. A fan for life.

I love Sebastian and Calvin

I especially loved having Calvin's POV in some of the stories! If you haven't read the novels, start with #1 and get to know the characters. I have these books in my read again (and again, and again) list. And I rarely want to reread a book. These short stories give us a glimpse of their lives and their relationship. It was a fun and quick read!

This is a delightful companion to the Snow and Winter series. These short stories give us snippets of Calvin and Sebastian off the cuff. This is refreshing as we get to know the characters on a deeper level than in the original series. There is plenty of laughter and snark with a good helping of sweet tenderness. This is a must have to add to the Snow and Winter collection. As a general aside, you need to read the Snow and Winter series before reading this collection of shorts to fully enjoy and ...more

Snow & Winter a perfect combination of love and grumpiness

I loved this book. It was a catch up on what is going on in the lives of Calvin & Sebastian. Poe shows the true love between them that is so adorable I will be rereading them again because I miss their snarkiness and respect they each have for one another.
