Who knew one small mistake—that just happened to go viral—would result in being exiled from my family and shunned by my coven?
Not me. Yet here I am, in nowhere, Alaska, armed only with a laptop and my Pomeranian.
But even witch magic can’t prepare a girl for the freezing temperatures, murderous moose, or the abundance of hot men.
Jack, Ty, and Aiden walked straight out of the freezing ocean like some mythical gods, water sluicing from their broad shoulders. What starts as burning attraction quickly turns into searing kisses and hot nights between the sheets.
But something isn’t right in this tiny Alaskan village. There aren’t any tourists. There’s no internet, and the locals shoo their children away when I walk past in the streets.
There are secrets here I long to uncover. But not if that means the risk of exposing my own.
Tempted is a ‘why choose’ paranormal romance perfect for readers who enjoy sassy heroines, sexy sea dragon shifter heroes, and enough steamy scenes to heat up even a cold Alaskan night. This is the first book of an ongoing trilogy.
The author spends an inordinate amount of time defining the female protagonist as incompetent. I cannot fathom what motivates a female author writing a book that is supposedly targeting female readers, to dedicated herself to the concept that multiple men become obsessed with a woman who is chronically foolish and totally irresponsible. Skye thinks Anchorage is the only habited place in the entire state of Alaska and it didn’t occur to her to ask where her job was located. She only wears cotton leggings and fashion shoes, categorically refusing to wear a jacket or rain boots in a rainstorm. Not to mention that her purse puppy, Princess Pooferella, is not potty trained, so she just urinates and defecates wherever, whenever.
Perhaps it’s because my sister lived in Alaska for several years or the times my dad made us go salmon fishing in the bush, but what would the author have lost if Skye was competent? What if she had prepared for her job in Alaska? What if, after living in Cambridge, MA for 3 years, she was aware of rain and snow and knew how to dress herself? What if she had literally any other dog instead of a fashion-accessory purse puppy?
Oh my goodness !! What did I just read this was flipping amazing!!Skye is a lot more special than she makes herself out to be. The problem is her two lovers are unsure of what to make of her. She’s fun and exotic but there is just something odd about her !!! I can’t wait for book 2.
Ok, hello TEMPTED! I really really loved this one and after that cliffhanger ending, I'm so glad I already have book 2 and plenty of time to read it. I loved our FMC Skye, she's smart, sweet, and even though she's going through a rough time with her powers and her family she's determined to start over on her own. She's completely unprepared for Alaska when she first shows up but she's won over by the beauty of Amber Bay which I totally understand because Ashwood does a great job bringing it to life.
Skye is a bit thrown at first by her attraction to two men but Jack's sweet smiles and Ty's flirtations quickly win her over. I loved these three together and how easily they found their rhythm. Their scenes were definitely hot and spicy but also filled with a lot of emotional connection. I was also really happy to see things developing between Ty and Jack who have been friends their whole lives but are just now discovering there might be more between them. Now all we need is grumpy alpha Aiden to get out of his own way so he can join in the fun too!
Content Warning: disowned by family; cliffhanger ending
I instantly needed this book the moment I read Alaska, a technologically adept witch, and three gorgeous sea dragons. It did not disappoint. Ashwood's writing is light and humorous, and the story keeps up a good pace. I loved her guys. Aiden, the brooding alpha and head of the clan, Jack, the friendly and so-hot sweetheart, and Ty, the swooniest with his sad history. The location is just stunning. I could feel the fresh cool air. I really can't wait to read the next instalment.
3.7 stars. So far so good. I’m intrigued. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about everything yet. But I’m holding out hope for things to continue to build and get better as the trilogy progresses.
Once in a while I ask in a few Facebook groups for recommendations. My list with needs is always about the same: I need at least one guy in the harem to be cute or nerdy, I need plot with sex and not sex with a plot. And I don't need the heroine to be a tough woman at the start of the series (and not even in the end either). One of the recommendations I got was this one and this morning I had just enough time to finish the book in one sitting.
And I can say for certain that the guys in this book are really cute and charming. Don't get me wrong, in the right kind of book I have nothing against alpha males and guys being possessive and maybe a little overprotective, but once in a while I just want a nice guy, without issues, without an overdose of testosteron, who can just love. I have to admit that I would have loved to get to know the guys better, but that can be done in the other two books in the series.
Since this first book is mostly about the heroine getting to know her three guys, there is not that much plot yet. However, we see the kinda plot Ashwood is building. We've already gotten all the ingredients in this book and I'm pretty sure that all of those ingredients will lead to quite a few problems and loads of issues needing to be solved. And that already starts with the cliffhanger. I'm quite curious how that one will get resolved.
Like I asked the heroine in this story is not very strong and quite insecure. But, it's clear that she has been mostly mistreated and that the powers she has have never been properly explored and trained. I'm therefore quite certain that her powers will grow and that at some point she will be able to defend herself and take care of herself. I wouldn't be surprised if she's gonna be the one winning the fight in the end. I can't wait to discover if I'm right.
When you make an FMC that is supposed to be brilliant, she shouldn't constantly throw temper tantrums, have no common sense, do anything she wants on a whim without logic, or somehow think she's in love after a day of knowing a man. That doesn't make sense and the incongruity ruined this book. I didn't like her from beginning to end. There was no growth, and her relations involved two men she was in lust with, but it's written like they mean so much to each other. The problem is, there's absolutely nothing to give actual depth to the relationships. They all see each other and start panting.
First of all, the theme is fantasy romance (erotic) and if you don't know what reverse harem is - look it up for reference to the kind of romantic entanglements you'll be reading about 😋 This is the 1st book in a trilogy. * This story has some very steamy scenes that are rated R. * I am enjoying the main character - Skye, with her witch magic, who is needing some help as she is being shunned by her coven. She is hired by Aiden - head of the village - for her tech skills, and is picked up by Jack to be taken to the rural community in Alaska and then introduced to Ty along the way. These 4 are the main characters of the story with chapters written in each of their perspectives! * There is some magic as Skye, Aiden Ty, and Jack are all from a fantastical background but it is not as prominent in the story as much as the foundation of the relationships forming. I was okay with this approach as I think the balance was quite good for the type of story it is. Just expect it to be heavier on the erotic romance side of things! * I really enjoyed this story and rated it 4 ⭐ It's a short and sweet read and I'm very curious how the story will progress after the cliffhanger of an ending! * Tempted by Zoe Ashwood will be released on August 19, 2020! *
I've enjoyed plenty of poly romances at this point so it's not that... but I was not prepared for multiple heroes in this case and then started reading reviews. I agree with some of the detractors about the setup for the heroine. This has the potential for being great... but I anticipate not enjoying it enough.
Plus, RL only gave it three stars and she's super forgiving. If she only liked it three stars, I'm betting I'll end up hating it.
Tempted. Book 1 of the Sea Dragons of Amber Bay by Zoe Ashwood. Damn! Never thought I’d be tempted (haha pun intended) into reading a book about dragons. BUT I read the blurb and was sucked in from the first page. The characters and plot are going to destroy you in a steamy way! Trust me, you’ll want to jump in on this series and follow along with Skye, Ty, Jack and Aiden!
Well that’s certainly one way to end the book lol. Talk about a cliffhanger when actual lives hang in the balance. Poor girl just has a life changing threesome during a full moon and quite possibly jump started one of the guys a wee bit too much with her witch powers? Doubtful he’s dead but holy hell I still wasn’t expecting that lol I mean something like this was bound to happen when there are supernatural beings living in such a small town each with their own secrets. For the most part this is lighthearted but definitely on the naughty side. Audiobook was easy to listen to and made for a smooth but quick read. Heroine will hopefully be let in on some secrets soon and can possibly see herself not only staying in Alaska but becoming a family with the guys especially after her own scummy family disowned her.
This book should come with a warning on the front. Like beware; will get you hooked from the start, will make you read until morning.
When I read the blurb, I was immediately attracted to the book. Come on, sea dragons, witches, stunning Alaska, and on top of this a Pomeranian. Seriously, how cool can a book get? Absolutely loved it.
This book has M/F, M/F/M, and some M/M action. The scenes are hot and flow very naturally in the story. The author has taken time for the reader to discover and understand all the main characters in the book and describes Alaska beautifully.
The only downside is that the story ends with a cliffhanger, so a minus star for cruelty against your readers and making us wait for the rest.
So, don’t judge me, but I do judge a book by it’s cover. This one I wanted to read from the minute I saw the cover: it’s interesting, vibrant, and the little details all over it make it quite enticing. And then I heard there were Sea Dragons and I was sold. Give me a mythological creature and I’m a happy girl!
My second favourite thing when I offer judgement is whether the story makes me feel as good as looking at the cover does. In this instance I was not disappointed. I loved that Skye had some personal issues but that she was open to new people and experiences. She’s experienced great heartache and she’s a great FMC; the kind that you want to know and befriend because her heart is in the right place and she’s funny and smart, even if she doesn’t really trust herself – she’s more than she realises.
And then the guys – I have such a soft spot for all these dragons for very different reasons. But secrets are never safe things to keep, especially when lives are at stake and generations of hate and fear could break tentative connections.
I so enjoyed the fact that this book was set in Alaska – it’s always been the destination of my dreams and every word on every page made it so real to me and I felt like I could breathe in the fresh, crisp air and could see the rushing ocean in my mind’s eye. I also love that our FMC is a technological wizard because smart is so very sexy and it’s fun to read about these different career choices. And the Alpha males are Alphas without having to be Doms or Millionaires – they’re all heart, with the expected stubborn one that fights the attraction from the beginning!
That ending was the kind of “whoa” that has you futilely trying to flip more pages to see what happens and I don’t know how long I can wait for the next book and some kind of resolution!
All in all, it’s well written, the plot moves along at a pleasurable pace and the interpersonal dynamics and world build is utterly fantastic!
Tempted by Zoe Ashwood Sea Dragons of Amber Bay #1
Book One in Zoe’s New Series will be Released on the 19/08/2020!
“This man, this tortured and scary hulk of a man seemed to be my match. Mama seemed to be right all along; even lost, it looked like we had found our way back to one another.”
Once again, Zoe puts out another amazing book series that leaves me wanting more asap, It’s amazing! This paranormal reverse harlem is hot as all hell and these sexy AF characters and this loving going on!
Skye Jones gets offered a new job at the perfect time, after being exiled from her family’s coven for a magical accident that went viral. The only problem with her new job is it being that it’s in one of the coldest places she’s even been. So with her dog and laptop in hand she heads to Alaska. But after arriving in the town that she will be staying in, the last thing she expects is for the men around her to be hot as well and the rest of the town to run and hide.
Jack, Ty and Aiden, all absolutely love their home town of Amber Bay and will do anything to protect it and their Clans secret. So when they have a tech problem they just can’t solve, Aiden the Clan leader calls in an expert. All three men didn’t expect someone like Skye to turn up as their expert through, and didn’t expect to have the feeling they do for her. Now, This book is absolutely awesome, I need book 2 ASAP! Like as soon as I finished It I needed more.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Tempted and for that I’m very grateful.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TEMPTED" This story grabs you right from beginning to end its a new series by Zoe Ashwood full of heartache, betrayal, angst, intrigue, suspense, secrets, lies, deceipt, hot steamy scenes, twists that make for a very unique can't put down read. Skye is a witch exiled from her family and Coven arriving in Alaska with only her laptop and Pomeranian the temperatures are freezing she sees three gorgeous hot alpha males rise from the ocean Ty, Jack, & Aiden like mythical gods making her heart pound. Skye, Ty , Jack & Aiden end up having scorching hot nights together she is desperately seeking love and affection after what happened to her there are dark secrets with both witches and dragons will this ruin what they have. Skye goes into the village and sees how the people shy away from her with their children as she passes and there's no tourists anywhere in site something is wrong with this village in Alaska. I defintely recommend to get this entertaining first book in this bew series the cliffhanger has you wanting for the next book like now to see what happens.
Okay. I love Zoe Ashwood. I have thoroughly enjoyed the few books that I’ve read by her. So I readily admit to being biased about her books. In an attempt to put that to the side for a moment, I’ll try to describe parts/aspects that I appreciated or simply stuck out.
This is the first in a trilogy and is described as a reverse harem. I’d say it has slight (or more than slight) why choose vibes at one point toward the end with a possibility of bi-awakening. There is forced identity concealment - the reader knows what everyone is but she doesn’t know they are sea dragons and they don’t know that she’s a witch, except for their leader. She is developing a found-family relationship with the community, as she navigates the cut ties from her blood family. She’s also learning how to harness her powers. Ultimately, the relationships between everyone are thoroughly enjoyable. There is mildly predictable angst since there is hidden knowledge.
Ok, wasn't sure what to expect when I chose to read this book, me being me, I don't generally read the blurb, this series caught my interest due to its genre, paranormal reverse harm romance. If you don't know what that it I highly recommend you look it up so you know what you generally expect in this book. To start of Skye is a witch who struggles with her magic and gets offered an IT job in Amber Bay, there she meets Jake, Ty and Aiden, who sounds absolutely divine, she catches the interest of both Jake and Ty first while Aiden plays the brooding boss. Beautifully written and completely captivating story, super excited to continue with this story in the next book and see where the sea dragons of Amber Bay take me, I struggled to put this book down and read it in one afternoon and went to find book two straight away. Zoe you did a wonderful job and I can't wait to read more of your stories.

Listen. I was this close to yeeting this book into the Arctic tundra.
The first 60–70%? A slow, snowy spiral of "I'm just a weak witch with electric anxiety" meets "we can't tell her we're sea dragons or the world will end." It was giving YA angst with adult setup, and the sexual tension? Barely detectable. Just vibes. Not the filthy, fated monster chaos I signed up for.
BUT THEN.
The book must've looked at itself in the mirror and said, "Wait—I’m a monster romance, not a motivational journal." Suddenly, it remembered the spice. Suddenly, it remembered plot. Suddenly, we’re getting double the sea dragon D, a power-up moment, an actual cliffhanger that made me scream into my Kindle.
Do I think this trilogy could’ve been one tight, feral, 350-page ride with fewer parental flashbacks and more early-action shifts? Absolutely. Am I mad that I now need book two immediately because the last 30% finally snapped and gave me everything I wanted? Also yes.
Zoe Ashwood had me in a glacial chokehold—but she pulled through. Eventually.
This was a read that had me going to read a few chapters and the next thing I knew I was ending on a cliffhanger and it was 2 in the morning and I was screaming inside wanting to know what was going to happen next. I enjoyed the work. The multiple views allowed me inside each of the characters and get an idea of how each was dealing with the rising attraction. I loved the plot and am eager to see what is going to happen next. I loved the dynamics of the works, each having secrets they want hidden but at the same time want to tell the others. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I truly enjoyed this first book from Zoe Ashwood's new series Sea Dragons of Amber Bay. I believe a story is only as powerful as its characters and Skye, Jack, Ty and Aiden leaped from the page. I love stories where the hero and heroine are immediately drawn to each other, but have to overcome their own fears in addition to external obstacles. If you enjoy romances that are sizzling, magical, mysterious and heartfelt, I highly recommend this book. Can't wait for the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Things blow up back home and she ends up in Alaska with a lot of bad baggage in her life. Three sea dragons, also with a lot of baggage, get together with her and the explosions begin. There are a lot of funny periods in the book, to keep it lighter and make you laugh out loud. There are also suspenseful moments that keep you glued to your seat. The characters and their backstories are fantastic and the locale is so great. Can not wait to read some more from this author..

Wow! I love Tempted. This book is incredible and captured my attention right from the beginning with fantastic characters and an interesting plot. Full of steamy hot scenes. I love the characters and I am intrigued to see where this series leads. The ending is an incredible cliffhanger that is both satisfying and leaves you excited to read the next book. This is a wonderful new series. I highly recommend this book.
Witches, sea dragons, and threats of bears oh my. I really enjoyed the beginning of this series.
This book has twist, turns, sad emotions, steamy scenes, and comical moments.
Skye is a witch with a twisted past, of betrayal, rejection, and a desperate need of acceptance and love. Ty, Aiden, and Jack are sea dragons that didn’t know they were missing anything in their remote Alaskan life. Putting these two species that have centuries of dark secrets, animosity, and hate together is bound to be explosive.
This is the first book in a new series and is a really great start.
Skye gets in trouble and takes a job that requires her to go to Alaska. Her and her adorable dog set off for the wilderness. She meets three guys, all best friends, there while she is working. Their relationship build throughout this book and is really well done.
I really enjoyed the world built here. The books ends on a small cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next one!
This book kick of a new series in a great way we meet Skye who is cast out of her clan, and takes a job in Alaska. When there she meet Jack, Ty and her new boss Aidan. We see Skye, Jake and Ty grow closer to some steamy moments and also we get to see Aidans struggle to keep away from her too but to also try and help her. With lots of twists we see the book end on a crazy cliffhanger really leaving you wanting more.
Skye has accepted a new job in Alaska to escape some family issues, but she ends up with more than she bargained for. I like Skye - she’s kind of awkward, smart, and is just doing her best life. It does end on a cliffhanger, but thankfully the series is complete and I can just go download book 2 :)
I’m feeling a bit meh about this book. I like the idea but I didn’t really connect with the characters and I feel that this series is going to be a bit predictable in certain aspects. Not sure now is a good time for me to dive into it. But I’ll revisit at some point I’m sure.
I love it! I love how fast paced it was! She didn't drag it out. I really enjoyed all the characters and the story line. I laughed out loud multiple times, the sexy times where fantastic and so were the teasers! All in all a great read and i cant wait for book 2!

You’re immediately pulled into the story of Skye and what a story it is!!! Intriguing, sexy and magical!! Can’t wait to see where the next book goes and holy ish that cliffhanger had me gasping out loud!!
