The Shaman Fight is over. Hao has emerged victorious…and now he must slumber in order to become one with the Great Spirit. Yoh and his friends make their way through the mazes of the Lost Continent of Mu in an effort to stop him, but when they reach the Plant of the Desert, they're attacked by Namari, one of the Patch Officiants. After he defeats Ryu, it's up to Ren and Horohoro to fight him off…but deep in the desert, Horohoro can't command ice and Ren can't call down lightning. How can they defend themselves now?
Hiroyuki Takei (武井宏之 Takei Hiroyuki) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime Shaman King. His brother, Hirofumi Takei (武井宏文) is also a manga-ka.
Now the Final gambit is in play and our team is trying to reach Hao to stop him some sacrifices have to be made and the team is ready for the same. So let's go and let's Keep on Reading.
I have always loved comics, and I can and I have. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.
Not sure what the point was of the final chapter. Everyone not on Mu is using Mikihisa's Oracle Bell to calculate the furyoku of Yoh and company, but we only get that Jeanne's level is at zero, and the last page is Jeanne standing alone in the Valley Plant after the defeat of Bron. But Tao just beat Magna in the Volcano Plant, after it had already been revealed before their fight that Jeanne is out of commission and can't resurrect anyone anymore. Hell, Tao was able to fight Magna because of his recent resurrection which cost Jeanne her furyoku. Would it not have made more sense to end with a revelation on Yoh's levels? Or the other four Elemental Warriors. Or even Opacho's?
Anyway, this volume mostly constitutes a third of the boss-rush of Patch officials. That is, we have fights against three of the ten Patch officials, but this is Volume 31 out of 32 (before the kanzenban's additional chapters) so either we'll blaze through the other seven next volume, possibly skipping fights entirely, or the series will interrupt its story and end without resolve ().
I have mixed feelings regarding the Patch. I don't like how all their spirits are just giant animals, but at the same time I do like it. The only hiccup, in my opinion, is that Namari has a snake when Silva also had a snake. Red Rope functions differently from Silver Rod, kinda, I guess (Namari uses some whip-like attacks), but it's still not as original as it could be. Hell, Namari's main method of attack is to crush opponents' Oversouls with the cobra's fangs, and this is the same shit as Magna's Magnescope's talons, so even if we ignore the two snakes of the Patch we still have a snake acting the same way as an owl. Bron's Blue-Net spider is more interesting, and I kinda wish Lyserg would have fought more with his own tentacles, but whatever. The Patch are neat if only because they are a gauntlet of evil Native Americans, which is simply something you don't see everyday in shounen battle manga.

It's nice. Lots of interesting fights, even if they kept dying. Sometimes reading it I think of videogames. Also, people fighting and dying and all that... Meanwhile, their families are doing a bbq outside. Talk about discrepancies...
The peddle is to the metal and the story is racing to a conclusion! I know that after you complete this volume there is only one more to go! I don’t know when Hiroyuki Takei was informed of the series wrapping up but the flow of this volume feels off. It’s not a bad volume but death and resurrection feels as common in this series as someone taking a sip of water. I think it looks good…but the first part of this volume felt like Takei just wanted to draw a snake virtually every other page! Maybe I am also being unfair but the background I felt lightened up on detail going through this volume. The 2- star rating may be me being a little harsh, but I found myself hard pressed to give it a full 3-star review compared to the other titles which have been given that level of praise. The battles that rage back-to-back-to-back feels like a gauntlet of attrition and definitely a battle against time. Buckle up….as there is only one more volume to go!
In the lead-up to facing Hao, our heroes must work their way through the 10 Patch officiants. We see 3 of those battles in this volume, and they each feel rushed. These are meant to be the 10 hurdles before the big boss, so these should be extremely powerful figures, and it's jarring to see the story rush through them as quickly as they do. For now, my thoughts are that they should have cut down the amount of officiants, but hopefully the remaining volumes will prove me wrong. As it stands, it's interesting to see these characters worry about what they must do to advance, how their strength compares to their teammates, and who deserves to be resurrected without draining their mana too much.
Great spirits of old taking the form of animals are pitted against Yoh and his friends, and with only fifteen hours to defeat them, it will take everything they have to make it past! Takei continues the epic journey on Mu with this exhilarating entry to the "Shaman King" series. Only time will tell if Yoh and the others can finally face Hao!
The series seems to be tumbling towards the end. I get the patch are suppose to protect the Shaman King but at this point we have people dying and coming back or promised to be coming back. There’s no weight to these battles cause we know no one is going to die and we know that the main crew is gonna get to the king even if it feels like they didn’t get stronger.

Going forward, it's a sprint to the finish line. Such story-telling is never-before-seen in manga as crucial boss battles are stacked one after the other without a care in the world how everything lines up. It ultimately just feels like mangaka Hiroyuki Takei wanted to showcase the hero's and villain's ultimate forms one last time before the grand finale. At least it's all a bit entertaining.
That was a rather disappointing volume. The action seemed rushed and muted, and the only interesting scenes (which centered around Yoh and Anna) were in the minority. Hiroyuki Takei's opening and closing notes betraying the future of the series doesn't do anything to make me think this series will resolve cleanly - or at all.
shaman king is an awesome manga and i recommend it to anyone who reads manga and watch anime and love ghosts and action but I suggest you watch you watch and read the series eventhough i'm not finished with either one yet.
I am so confused... when did Faust die? Or Mickey? Everything was so rushed I couldn't really tell... Well, there's one more volume to go. The three stars is solely for the Lady Jeanne action! She's AMAZING. (My favorite character, besides Hao)
Уж беше: който умре сега си остава умрял. Нали фурйокуто им беше дефицит... Ама в тези истории никой не умира наистина, а? Остава малко до края и вече го предусещам.
So i read all the books and shaman king is a good ass manga Yoh is a great character who can very relatable at times his deep relationship whith his ghost is great to see developed and from vol 1 to 31 its a story i personly enjoyed
